This company sold my 85 year old Dad a system with a five year contract and charged a $51 a month. When he died last year (1 1/2 years into the contract) I contacted the company, sent them the death certificate and was told they would not cancel the contract until 90% of the contract fee was paid. Each time I call I'm forwarded to Karen Christenson, she has yet to return one of my calls. Additionally the alarm was poorly installed and simply plugged into an electrical outlet whos power is controlled by a wall switch! UPDATE: After 3mths, BBB closed my complaint. I was able to get my auto pay deleted, receive invoices (which I'm charged $2-3 for). Now, due to Corona, I can only afford necessities. I was just told they could lower bill by $2 if I extend contract. I'm being charged $10 for late fees. Who else can I talk to? I'm on a fixed early retirement income & can't afford $1,000 to end my contract. read more

I have called them and called them to report that door opener is not working after 30 days they will not honor the word I was told there will be no service charge because I was an older person and I told salesman that we are not computer literate and this system has not been operating correctly these people are a nightmare To deal with I have written them five times and no response I did receive one letter and which they told me I was under contract and I told them I was not because they're not honoring their word Then they took three payments out of my account back to back to with me not only them anything it was supposed to be 6 months no payment I do not recommend this company to anyone they are a nightmare. read more

Signed up for a service I was told we only had to keep for 6 months, a year later i try and cancel and am told i was scammed into a 60 month contract or i had to pay $1500 to get out of it. Fast forward to now, Safehome security removed my system from my house and is now claiming the man whom scheduled it to be removed NEVER worked for the company and until i pay for the service they refuse to help resolve this in any way. We had a 5-yr contract and we sold our home in Florida after 2 years. We were told that we still had to pay for the remaining 3 years of the contract even though we no longer own the home. My husband finally got them to agree to wait until our home was built in Hawaii and we would fulfill the remaining 3 years of the contract. They continued to charge our credit card until we had the credit card refuse to pay them. Now they keep billing us with billing fees and $10 late fee charges. They keep telling us they'll notify the cancellation department but it keeps happening after 6 months. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Worst Company in the home security business. Stay away from this Unscrupulous company. If I could give them a negative review I would. I was with this company for many years. Once my contract was up for renewal, I was on the fence of renewing a new a contract with them. They came back with I would need a new board in order for them to monitor my system. I asked them to replace the board then. The rep came back and said I was not under warranty and I would have to pay for them come out and replace it. All, the while I was under warranty, while paying the extra $10 monthly fee that fell under the warranty. I disputed this with them for over 3 months while not knowing that my home was not being monitored for over 4 months. I tried calling them for over 2 months, without a returned phone call. I did manage to get a rep on the phone to where they did promise to give me back 4 months of monitoring if I renewed my contract in which I was willing to do. This is when I realized they were in the wrong for saying that I was not under warranty. It was clearly in the contract in which I got the rep to say, that this is standard that everyone is charged for the warranty. Also, covid was going on and the said they would not charge me for the time, until the tech was able to come out. Long story short, I canceled the contract and this unscrupulous company started charging me again. Stay away from this company. They will not call you back, and once you sign the contract they have you for their standard Three year contract in which you will not get out of. Wish I had never entertained the salesman that came to be with Safeguard Americas special of 4-6 months of "free" service. Reading the other reviews and unfortunately have had similar experiences with this company. I've been stuck in this contract since 2015 and was told I'd have to pay roughly $1500 to get out. The service they offer is poor compared to the local security service providers in my area and I could have signed up with the other providers contract free! My contract with the company was up 5/18/2018, and as instructed I emailed the company my intent to terminate 60 days prior to end of contract. As of June, I am still getting invoices for payment!!! When you call their customer service number, you get someone whom is brain dead --- stating that "we will take care of that for you!!" which they don't. I received a collection letter from their collection department 2 weeks ago and did my monthly phone call and got transferred to the collection department. I spoke with a Ms. Garcia, whom was rude and sarcastic with me and said that she "sent an email over to terminate my subscription." I asked why it was at this point taking 6 months to do a termination and she got testy with me and said it would be taken care of and to disregard any future letters and invoices.....which of course I won't because I want this taken care NOW!! Over the weekend, I received another invoice for payment which I will now have to call them again and speak to some Zombie in customer service. read more
