Requested a quote for the full replacement of the windshield on my vehicle and price seemed acceptable, when I went to schedule there was an added $40 fee for "disposal" of the windshield. When asked if it could be removed (I was willing to dispose of it) customer service on the website refused, acting as if it was some sort of environmental threat to leave the windshield in my possession, its just glass. If the fee is mandatory it needs to be included in the quote for service. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would but I'm forced to leave one. My rearview mirror fell out of the windshield while I was driving, which is obviously a huge safety hazard. This happened on Saturday, and I was told the warranty department was closed until Monday. That meant I had to go two days without being able to safely drive my car. When I called on Monday, the representative explained that the warranty is "lifetime" as long as you own the car and that it covers things like rain damage, faulty glass, and installation errors, etc. Based on that conversation, it sounded like the issue would likely be covered. However, they couldn't send someone out until Tuesday leaving me without my car for four days. When the technicians finally came out on Tuesday, they took photos and said their manager would review everything and call me back. I was still left with a vehicle I couldn't safely drive. A few hours later the manager called and claimed the issue was caused by "external damage," even though no external damage occurred. As a mom with kids who need to get to school and activities, being left without a safe vehicle for days was extremely stressful and inconvenient. I used to highly recommend Safelite to my friends and family, but after this experience I absolutely will not be doing that anymore. Being left without a drivable vehicle for days and then having a legitimate issue dismissed like this is extremely frustrating. Extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. read more

Safelight replaced a front windshield on my 2011 BMW X5 4+ yrs ago. They had to come back 3 times because they brought the wrong glass. It took 3 weeks just to get started. When they finally decided they had the right glass, it took 2.5 hours to install. 2 days after the install it rained. I realized then that the rain sensor did not work, and Safelite refused to help fix the problem. They just wrote me off. When I recently needed another windshield replacement, I decided to go with a locally owned Boise firm (named after the county Boise is in) instead. It was a good decision for a number of reasons, quality work, caring installer and attention to detail. The installer tested the rain sensor (imagine that!) and explained what had gone wrong with the past installer. It also felt good supporting a locally owned small business. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I called ahead to schedule an appointment for a chip repair. I was told that I didn't need one, come anytime between 8:00 and 5:00 except to maybe try to avoid the lunch hour. We drove 2 cars to Safelite and planned to leave the one car and pick it up later in the day. We were told NO, they could not get to us, they were just too busy. We went to Fast Glass and we didn't get a chance to even leave the car there because they had the chip repaired in 15 minutes. When you think you are too big to take care of your customers, you are no longer a service business. Our other car needs a windshield replacement and I can tell you where we are not going to take it. read more

Really great experience. When I arrived they were having computer challenges but it didn't stop them from greeting and receiving my vehicle. They have a nice large waiting room with coffee and tea. They took my phone number and invited me to wait and if I were to leave they would call when my truck was ready. I did leave as they said it would be a few hours. I have a 2020 Toyota 4runner. On the windshield there is a keyless entry sensor sticker. Aaron. my tech, called me shortly after I'd left to let me know that they wouldn't be able to replace the sticker as it's new and not a part that they have or could even order. I was slightly irritated that I wouldn't be getting my truck back exactly as I was leaving it minus the cracked windshield but that was not Safelite's fault nor Aaron's. He went the distance to call around as well as speak to his General Manager to see if it was something they could eventually work on. I appreciated his proactive and honest approach before he started the work and how helpful he was to ensure I understood the situation. They did great work, he put the sticker back on and as he said, "it works it's just ugly". I'd return to this place in a heartbeat and recommend highly for anyone in need of their services. read more

I recently got a lovely rock chip and associated crack in my windshield that had me wringing my hands - a bummer. I first went to a competitor (Glass Doctor) who told me the fix was impossible and I needed a new windshield replacement. As I always do I wanted a second opinion so I called the folks at Safelite and they were great on the phone and told me to drop on in. Great customer experience from the get go, I got hooked up with a tech who was honest and straightforward about the damage. He did agree that a repair might be work the risk - so we went for it. They were kind enough to get me in straight away and 45 minutes later my tech took me out to look at the finished work. He did a great job and was confident the fix would hold - turning the impossible into the possible. Great work and customer experience .. this is my second visit to this team and I have yet to be disappointed. read more

Got a call the AM of my appt and said they had a, " technician emergency???" What is that? Now they can schedule me 2 weeks out?? Bad customer service, horrible follow up. My Tesla had a large crack in the windshield and Safelite did a great job replacing it. Everyone at the shop was very friendly and waiting the hour and a half in their front room was very comfortable. I would definitely bring our other cars here. read more

Safelite was called to fix a tiny chip in my daughter's windshield. The 'tech' poked the chip with a sharp tool, which made it bigger. That has now become a long crack that cannot be repaired. We called Safelite many times and they kept hanging up on us. If they had not touched the car, it would have been fine for years, but Safelite's improper procedure has caused $400 damage in 2 days. After finally talking to a supervisor there, they refuse to fix the problem. The Safelite guarantee is worthless, the customer service is rude and unhelpful, and their field personnel are poorly trained. Don't use Safelite. Call Fastglass or Intermountain instead. read more

This location is awesome! The staff was friendly and literally got me in and out with a replaced passenger window in 45 minutes. I've been to another Safelite in Caldwell and was just not impressed but these guys made it awesome for me. Definitely will be coming here again for future work on my cars. I was referred to Safelite from my insurance company. The scheduling process was very easy and only took a few minutes. Chris was the technician who came to my house to replace the windshield in my car. He did a fantastic job from start to finish! He called the morning of to let me know a time frame for his arrival. He also sent a text message telling me he was on his way. He completed the job in about an hour. He cleaned all the windows in my car; not just the one that was replaced. He also vacuumed! Horrible! There was a small rock chip in the windshield of my newly purchased car and I wanted to prevent a HUGE crack in the windshield, so I went through my insurance, and didn't give it a second thought. Imagine my surprise when the technician asks me to come look at the results and now THERE IS A HUGE CRACK and his explanation is "sometimes that happens". When I tell him I was trying to AVOID replacing the windshield, and he calls his office- the lady at the office-on speaker phone, very smugly lets him know I can get it replaced if I pay the $500 deductible, or $420 out of pocket. No apologies, no one (except me) is horrified that this has happened.. apparently it's an everyday occurrence and she was expecting his call. As an afterthought, she throws in that they won't charge me. Well, geez, thanks, my insurance is already dinging me for the claim, and they're already getting paid, I'm sure. But thanks for nothing. I realize accidents happen, but I'll tell everyone I know that their customer service is HORRENDOUS. read more
