I had some jerk break out my passenger window to steal a purse from my trunk. On the advice of my insurance company, which didn't cover the glass, I called Safelite. First, let me say the techs were great. Travis and Hans were courteous and professional and got the job done quickly, once they could. What does that mean, once they could? Well, first it was a week out before they could schedule a field repair. Ok, I can deal with that. When they came out though, they couldn't do the repair because the glass they brought was broken. They found this out when they started doing the work. Better late than never? A week later, when they were able to reorder the glass, they came out and got it installed. Then noticed the scratches all over one corner. It looks like something with claws was trying to grab it and left long etch marks in the glass. Sorry, but why the heck doesn't someone there check the product BEFORE it goes out to a customer? The tech did say that it would be covered under the manufacturer warranty, but damn it, I don't have time for this. It isn't likely to obstruct my view so I'll live with it, but a bit angry that it's this hard to get a piece of glass replaced. So high marks for service, but minus points for poor products. read more

I had an appointment scheduled to replace side window because I was broken in to. Travelers insurance uses Safelite for their glass program. I had to wait a week for my appointment which was on Referral number: 296648 My window was from Noon to 5pm. By 4pm I hadn't heard from anyone and I called customer support who tried calling both the tech, the shop, and sent the manager an email which they said he had to respond to. Bottom line is that nobody ever showed up. I didn't get an email from the manager and I got a call from the tech a 1/2 hour after my window ended saying that the parts didn't come in. My wait for a new appointment was going to be another 10 days. I called back to Travelers and had them switch me to Novua Glass. They only have me a 1 hour window and are coming out next day to complete the project that Safelite could not do. This is the second time I've had same thing happen. Here's a version that sounds like a completely different person wrote it: I honestly don't know how a simple windshield replacement turned into this much of a disaster. My first appointment was missed entirely. No warning, no explanation. I gave them another chance and when they finally replaced the glass, I noticed scratches afterward. Then I was told the windshield they installed wasn't even the correct one for my vehicle. Now after trying to get the issue resolved again, nobody will return my calls. Mistakes happen, but four separate problems in a row with zero communication is unacceptable. I've spent more time chasing updates than they've spent helping me. It was recommended by our car insurance agency. They didn't have a live representative that can help or respond , plus bad customer service when anyone responds . They wanted us to reschedule service after staying home all day waiting for them after They gave us a five hours window to wait for them. No show, no call to reschedule. We ended up using the service of a local agent that helped us within the same day, dealt with the insurance, finished the job in less than an hour and $500 cheaper than Safelite. I was provided a quote of $400 and then Safelite updated my quote in the middle of the night to $1100 without calling me to ensure I was ok with the payment. After deciding to go through insurance, I made an appointment and came to drop my car off and when I got there, I was told the glass was not in stock. First of all, I think it's stupid that you can't call the store directly. You have to call the 1844 number. The original installer on my window was kind polite but didn't install my side window correctly breaking parts in my door and not allowing my door to be locked. I've made four other appointments with Safelite did not show up when they promised. They made me show up to their shop only to find out they still could not fix my car, I now have to wait another week for them to fix the broken part. I got a chip filled in my windshield and the next day, the crack spread. when I went back, they said I would have to replace the entire windshield and I would have to pay almost $1000. Not sure what is up with their technicians but one guy parked a private vehicle/SUV in our private tenant lot (80218 area) and when I politely (and indeed I was) let him know it was a private tenant lot he was rude and started swearing. Said he was told to park there. (I hadn't seen his Safelite truck across the alleyway at this point). When I asked who told him to park there he started swearing again and pointed in the direction of 3 buildings across the alleyway. I asked which building he was referring to and he said it was "obvious". He was aggressive for sure. I don't understand the rudeness when asked a question. Eventually the owner of the car came out of his place and said "sorry, that guy is a bit rough". No need to be rude when you are parked illegally in our small lot. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! DONT GO HERE. I had to spend a total of over 8 hours for them to fix a windshield on my car. I went for my first appointment which was scheduled for 12, they didn't even start until 3pm. The entire appointment should've been 2-3 hours. After sitting there for 5 hours, they advised they could not calibrate the vehicle and I will need to go back. I go back the next day for the calibration and after an hour they advise they still cannot fix it and I will need to come back for ANOTHER full replacement. The manager on duty advised she would give me $40 off the service which was a nice offer but I spent more than $40 on gas and 8+ hours of my life sitting there. Please note the $40 off was NOT reflected in the final bill that my insurance company was billed. I also saw numerous other customers have similar problems where no one communicated with them advising that their car was not fixable until after the customer had been sitting in the waiting area for a long time. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else, all these people do is windshields and they can't even do that right. read more

Don't usually spend the time to leave reviews but felt inclined after the awful experience I had. Scheduled online to have three windows replaced, the windshield and two door windows; right off the bat the website wasn't working correctly and I didn't get a confirmation email until the next day. Insane that there's no way to call the store directly and the corporate line takes forever to move past the automated system. The girl at the front desk was friendly and super helpful, got me checked in quickly and communicated updates throughout the process. The appointment ended up taking the estimated time of a little over 2 hours which was great. Upon going out to retrieve my car, new issues kept popping up; passenger door handle was broken, door panels were aligned incorrectly, window motors were not moving smoothly, glass was still all over the place. Ended up sending it back in to the garage 4 or 5 times to have them fix things. There is audibly still a ton of glass inside my doors that they said they were unable to do anything about. The first time I ran my window wipers after this appointment, the driver's side was streaky and the passenger side flew off in the middle of the interstate after being installed wrong. Will not be returning to this location or any other Safelite in the future, I'd rather the inconvenience of scheduling and paying more for a local shop that has some attention to detail and pride in their work. read more

Ruined a part on my car.... (I thought at first) and didn't tell me, Impossible to get them on the on the phone. I've been trying to call to get this issue resolved for about a month so now I just scheduled a warranty glass appointment. My technician was nice, but he didn't tell me it was broken and that is the concern I have. The manager did call and was kinda rude, he told me they were aware prior that the part needed fixing, but again doesn't understand that the issue wasn't communicated to me before hand and was knocking the car brand like I asked his opinion. I only got an apology after I said that's what I wanted in addition to help on replacing the part. He refused bc it's not his fault. No, it wasn't but the lack of communication during and after absolutely is. THAT is the issue. so did I expect Safelite to offer some kind of discount or help me replace the part? Yes I did. Let me tell you why... They called only after I left one star review and complained about the lack of response to someone who reached out to them. This issue could've been resolved DAY ONE had I been able to talk to somebody the first time I called OR had your technician been upfront about the issue, instead I had to call multiple times to be told by your automated system "we are connecting you to an agent" to " there are currently no agents available" and hangs up on me. Thus having to get to the point of leaving a one star review and clicking through emails and texts to connect w someone over chat. Who wasn't able to do anything outside of message the store. After all that, I finally got a call and an unpleasant one. So ya after wasting my time and effort just trying to communicate, I did fully expect for them to take some accountability. I have tried like 10 times to cancel the warranty appointment. It keeps asking for a cancel reason, but there's no drop-down menu or anywhere to put any reason. I hope you don't show up and try to charge me or anything because I will have a problem with that. It's not my fault that there's no direct number to call the store to speak to a human, and it's not my fault that your links/website don't work properly. Not being able to communicate IS THE PROBLEM, especially when people are spending money, regardless of the amount. I highly recommend taking the time to read the reviews for this location. I came in close to closing time with a freak random problem with my window regulator. Really all we wanted was to get the window up because it was stuck in the middle and I didn't want to leave it like that overnight. They were definitely busy but they offered to take my door apart to see what was going on. They were able to diagnose the problem, give us a quote on how much it would be to fix, and get the window up and taped in place for the time being. Honestly they saved the day for us. UPDATE on horrible service at this Safelight on E Evans. I went to another shop after being contacted by Safelight customer service. The new shop quickly diagnosed the issue and quickly fixed the problem. Turns out this location incorrectly installed my windshield after all! They failed to put the correct amount of adhesive on the molding that is replaced each time my windshield is replaced. So this location cut corners and then denied their mistake and rudely pushed me out the door. It seems this location often has problems if you look at the reviews. 6hrs waiting and 4 appointments later my windshield is finally correctly installed. Avoid this specific location if you value your time and good service. read more

I called back and selected a different option - same long and involved press this or that and when I was hoping to get someone on the phone, it said "I'm sorry that is not a viable option. Great service! This is the second time I've used Safelite - the first time was more of an emergency. My car had been broken into and the back driver's side window was complete smashed in. I called Safelite and they repaired my window within just a few days and it looked great. This time, I just needed a cracked windshield replaced. I knew I had coverage and my insurance company recommended Safelite (along with a couple of other options) and because of my past experience, I was happy to work with Safelite again. They got all of my information over the phone and were very specific to ensure they got the correct windshield. They scheduled my appointment 3 business days from the phone call and they came directly to my car in my work parking lot (very convenient!). The technician was prompt (in fact he called and could get me in a bit earlier, which I appreciate) and he was done within 30-45 minutes. He was polite and professional and informative. I will absolutely use Safelite in the future and recommend them to any of my friends who need car window repairs. read more

Update: It is now 3/17 and my credit card still has not been refunded the overcharge. I did have an employee call me to tell me this NEVER happens and he'd have to "research" it even though I had brought in my CC statement 2 weeks earlier which 2 employees looked at and saw I had been charged twice. On 2/15 I have TWO back-to-back charges from Safelite, with 2 different transaction numbers, for $328.49. It is clear as day that I was charged twice for one windshield. A few months ago I went into Safelite to get a few chips repaired which I was happy with until about 2 days after when a large crack appeared right in middle of the windshield. I assumed it was because of the work being done on the chips and just brushed off as bad luck. Just last week I got my car washed and the crack got much worse for which i decided to get the windshield replaced. I got in touch with Safelite through my insurance and got the job scheduled, all very easy through the GEICO app. The day of the replacement I was told it would take a couple of hours so I decided to wait at the Safelite office (Aurora). After a couple of hours, the manager (Murray Hamilton) came to me and told me 'there was a minor problem with my car and that I should come over'. He took me to the workshop and showed me how when they were removing the old windshield the technician had cut into the metal frame of the car (a one year old TRD 4Runner), a 10 inch gash... asides from that, all the rubber siding was all chewed up. He kept on telling me that I wouldn't see a difference once repaired and that the damaged siding wouldn't be noticed. I also saw how all the sidings and plastic pieces from the A/C and rear view mirror were all scattered on the floor... it looked like somebody had vandalized the car. They offered to drive me home and deliver the car to my office later. Once they delivered the car, the dash and center console was full of tiny pieces of glass, you could see as it all sparkled with the sunlight. Asides from that, there marks of dirty hands all around the front part of the car. I also found a plastic piece on the passenger side, no clue where it belongs and no way to put it back in place without removing the windshield again. Photos attached... I don't know what other companies do this service, but my recommendation would be to shop around. I have never seen such a botched up job being done by a company with such a large operation. Not happy with this company. Had an appointment scheduled and waited the entire day for them to show up. Not once did the installer ring the doorbell. He claims he was here but I saw no evidence of it. When I called to find out where they were toward the end of the day they said he showed up and waited (I guess I'm supposed to have ESP) and we would have to reschedule. I said nope, hung up, and I hired someone else. This other company, Caliber, showed up on time (and rang the doorbell), completely fixed the windshield in less time than they indicated and I have a perfect windshield again. Ironically Safelite called again today to get it scheduled. What part of "nope" do they not understand. I will not use Safelite going forward and will continue to use Caliber instead when and if the need arises. read more
