The warranty is a scam. They say that "because of the quality of the glass" they use, they can offer the industry's only lifetime warranty. They replaced my windshield about 2 years ago. Last week, I noticed a small crack of about 1 1/2 inches. There is no chip, just a crack. It's hard to see unless the light is right. I called and advised them. They told me that the warranty only covers leaks around the seal; it has nothing to do with the glass. I don't like being lied to. Funny that way. read more

Gave me a quote online, and it was a reasonable amount. Then, when I went to schedule the windshield replacement, there were previously undisclosed charges added to the estimate. Because of this deceptive business practice, I did not complete the replacement with Safelite, and instead used Independence Auto Glass. Independence did a great job at a firm price. I gave them three stars because in the past, Safelite did a good job replacing a windshield under insurance. read more

Seems to be a theme after reading other reviews. I filed a claim with insurance, Safelite called me promptly to schedule, including the upsell for new wipers. Declined the upsell and scheduled my appointment for about 10 days later. Drove 45 minutes to the appointment to be told that they didn't have an appointment but they would reschedule me for a later date. After dealing with the useless, unpleasant, secretary, who provided no solution other than to completely inconvenience me, by having to drive all the way back here another day, I spoke with the manager who worked me into their schedule. He was very helpful as was the technician who completed the repair. Bottom line is, the manager should strongly consider finding someone who is solution/customer oriented to be the face of Safelite in their Medford location. As for the scheduling issue this appears to be a systemic problem, that probably needs looking into. I highly recommend confirming your appointment with the shop to make sure you are in their schedule, prior to making the trip. read more

My experience was 100% positive. I was able to easily book and pay for my appt online and immediately got confirmation of both. Got a reminder call the day before and text the morning of appt. Stupidity runs deep. Set an appointment to drop off my Mini for a windshield replacement. My wife dropped off the car at 7:15am. At 10:30am, I get a text from Safelite telling me my appointment has been canceled and I needed to call to reschedule. When I called to see what happened, they told me it was a mistake and they meant to cancel a different account. Immediately afterwards, I got another text telling me my appointment was still for today. 20 minutes later, 2 new texts. The first told me they had started work and the second asked me to set up payment. I'm glad I waited to pay... 30 minutes after this (12:15pm), the last text said they were wrapping up and I needed to call to set up payment. I told my wife everything should be ready and she left work at 3 to pick it up. When she got there, however, the first thing she noticed was the windshield had not been replaced. She went inside to find out why and they said the one they ordered didn't fit and they would need to order a new one that would be here by the 16th (today is the 6th). There is no excuse for this level of miscommunication/stupidity. I could understand if it stopped after getting the wrong text but being told everything was still good, getting multiple texts showing progress and asking for payment and then I find out Nothing Had Been Done is infuriating. Sneaky and underhanded or just shoddy, unprofessional work? You decide. Had the windshield replaced on my vehicle. Went to pick up the vehicle and before leaving I thought I had better check out the installation and good for me I did (though I bet the "technician" was sweating bullets when he saw me walk around my car). I found that they had installed a damaged "new" windshield. It took me about 3 seconds to see the chip in the glass (see picture, there is even a glass shard in the frame around the windshield) and there is no possible way that Safelite did not notice it. You can see it, you can feel it, and it would tear or catch any cloth used to clean it. So there are only 2 possibilities here. Either (1) shoddy work, poor quality control and incompetence or, (2) a sneaky, underhanded business that knew it was damaged and hoped I would drive away before noticing. Really, there is no other possible explanation, it didn't get chipped just sitting there. They did replace it as a "warranty" issue. But had I not noticed when I did, I would be buying another windshield. I do not recommend this place. read more

I booked my appointment on line 1 week in advance was quoted $285.00 complete.no disposal fee on anything total was $285.00 when I showed up they said$319.99 I asked why and showed them my email and conformation the said do you want it done or not? Go somewhere else.i said I already waited a week.so I had them do it anyway.when they were done they forget to re install my antenna I had to return and I was 30 minutes away one way. No apology just a thumbs up your done. Lousy customer service. I would never recommend this place at all .go to Bills glass or any other place at all. They trapped me into it. Rude people too. Needed a windshield replacement through insurance (Geico) and they recommended Safelite. When I say their techs were on it, I mean they were ON IT. They quoted me up to 2 hours to finish the job which I expected going in. These guys had me in and out in less than 40 minutes with a brand new windshield. They kept me updated in the waiting area after every step they completed. My only criticism is the temperature of the waiting area which was a little warm. But keep in mind it was the middle of a heat wave in July and 115° outside so I can't complain too much. I've worked with Safelite twice now and both experiences were absolutely perfect. The first time was for my husband's windshield; they showed up to the house when they said they were going to and got everything fixed right quick. The second time was today to fill a chip in my windshield before it spider webs. Herman was my technician -- he called my cell 15 minutes before he arrived to let me know he was on his way; he was insanely courteous and professional; and only took 20ish minutes to get everything done. He even washed the outside of my windows and vacuumed my floorboards while he was working on my windshield. So painless, so rad. HIGHLY recommend Safelite if you can use them through your insurance carrier... hell, even if you can't. Just do it. I scheduled a windshield replacement appointment through my insurance for my 2015 BMW 328i (made the call on 6/20/2017) and scheduled it on 7/21/2017 (so that's about a month and i think that's more than enough time to at least give me a call which I never had). The following week (i think 6/28 or 6/29), I contacted the BMW dealership here in Medford, OR and notified them regarding the windshield replacement and they suggested to have it replaced with "original" windshield because 7/10 people seems to have a problem with the not original BMW windshield (i can prove this conversation as well). So following with the conversation with the dealership, I called safelite back and informed them of what the dealership recommended and safelite stated "WE WILL CALL YOU BACK BECAUSE WE HAVE TO GET IT APPROVED BY YOUR INSURANCE FIRST BECAUSE THAT WINDSHIELD IS WHAT WE INSTALL FOR 2016 bmw 328i OR NEWER". 2 weeks later i didn't get an email or a phone call (TWO WEEKS!!!!) so I called safelite back again BETWEEN 7/11-7/12 and they said that my insurance (geico) hasn't replied yet regarding that matter so right after I ended the conversation with safelite, I called Geico and approved that "original windshield" right away. I just found out that safelite DID NOT CONTACT THEM at all. On Monday (7/17/2017) I called safelite and told them that it was approved already by Geico last week (I guess they don't give a shit about it because THEY HAVEN'T ORDERED THE WINDSHIELD THAT WAS APPROVED LAST WEEK and so they just ordered it on 7/17). To cut it short, yesterday (7/20) i received an email regarding the appointment today (7/21) between 3-5 pm but nobody showed up. I called safelite and was reconnected 3 times, THREE EFFIN TIMES, and one of the safelite ladies tried to lie about not having my phone number and email. CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE SUCKS, they could've told me that the windshield wasn't ready yet instead they sent me an email for appointment confirmation and tried to lie about it. Once I had an appointment, I would rate the Medford, OR, operation as a five star. They worked with me and my schedule, were amazingly fast, were friendly and informative, and the windshield calibration works! The only reason they are receiving four and not five stars has to do with the inability to reach them on the phone via the number I was given by my insurance company and ultimately by the office itself when I dropped the car off. When the phone picks up, the message does not identify Safelite. The default operator only says, "I'm sorry, the party you are trying to reach has not set up voicemail on 458-225-9846." When I scoured the internet, I found another Oregon number that did mention Safelite and after trying several times, someone finally did answer and I was able to set up an appointment. This place is honestly so professional and wonderful and provided excellent service. My mom's back window was randomly shattered and we needed it fixed asap. It broke Wednesday afternoon and we were panicking. Called other places around town and no one would answer and their phone and their websites either wouldn't provide a quote or didn't have the option. Called safelite and they answered the first time, said they could get us in the next day, and quoted us $229. Went in the next morning at 11am, Zach was super friendly and made us feel comfortable, and the waiting area is relaxing. He said it generally takes between 1 to 2 hours and it was done in 1 hour and 35 minutes. And guess what? $229 is all it cost. Super affordable, great service, and flawless work.
