This Safelite location (in Mishawaka, IN) has repeatedly provided some of the best experiences I've had with companies in the automobile repair industry. I've had this particular branch repair one windshield and replace another, both on newer vehicles that required re-calibration of the electronics platform. In both instances, I was remarkably impressed with the cordiality of the technicians who serviced my vehicles. When asking questions, I never encountered the type of sarcasm or dismissive attitude that individuals in the industry tend to use with customers. In fact, it was always quite the opposite. The employees were extremely pleasant, called to update me on the process, and once even dropped me off at home so I didn't need to wait in the shop (I'm thinking specifically of Gage, Don, and Matt, all of whom couldn't have provided any better service)! Although I hope I don't need to return to Safelite (meaning I'd obviously prefer for my windshield not to get damaged), I'll be sure to call this location promptly if I ever need a repair in the future. read more

Warning: Safelite uses AI to schedule appointments. The system they use is not ready to do so. AT ALL... Made an app that was confirmed for Monday. No one showed up. When a human was able to call me back they rescheduled for another day that didn't really work with my schedule at all. Was blamed by this company for the miscommunication. When it was a mistake on Safelites end.. This companies customer service is slim to non. However the technician was fast and professional. Will not used this company again because they are not easy to use at all. It's was more of a headache. They made a bad situation worse. Do better please. read more

Happy with the windshield no problems on that end... but.. when I showed up on a Saturday around 2:30 to pick my vehicle up the manager had "left early for the day" is what the technician said. They couldn't get our card payment to go through. tech called the manager & she wanted him to write down our card info & send it to her via text Then invoice us Monday. We said No & had to find ATM for cash. When we came back with the cash we were waiting in the lobby along with many others for quite some time. I want to give negative starts. Once again I have to go through Safelite because that is who my insurance goes through and once again they broke parts on my son's truck. Had an appointment on Home Street at 4 on Saturday. At 6 still didn't have a windshield. When they got done my son told them you broke my bullet antenna. They tech said "Sorry, there is nothing I can do." Excuse me. You broke a part and there is nothing you can do. It didn't come to you broken. So this is the second vehicle your technicians have broke parts on one of our cars and you think it is okay not to do anything about it. Parts are not cheap and they didn't go into your shop broken. the Mishawaka Indiana store has a management AND employee problem. Safelite some how gets referral from MOST insurance companies country wide. Some states good some bad, Mishawaka VERY VERY BAD. cancel appointments and state the customer made the request. Don't show up for appointments!! If once, would not make this claim. Happened to me 2 times in a 4 year period all from Mishawaka store. Don't use them EVER! Mishawaka store needs to be closed and new employees from top to bottom then reopen somewhere else. read more

I made an appointment online to have my windshield replaced at the Mishawaka location. The estimated cost was $550.29. I expected it to be slightly more or less being that I had explained exactly what type of car I needed repaired and what needed done. (And I did say when I made the appointment this would not be an insurance claim) I made sure I had enough to pay since my insurance doesn't cover windshield damage for free. When I arrived for the appointment not even a week later, the cost had gone up to over $1300. When I asked the front desk clerk why there was such a difference, she laughed and said "corporate likes to make her job difficult ". I told her I didn't think it was something to laugh about as I scrambled to figure out how to pay for it with absolutely no notice and ready to cry. Now I am having to file a claim with my insurance, which I suspect was their plan all along...to defraud the insurance and make more money by me paying the $500 deductible as well as whatever insurance will cover if any. I was traveling and got a cracked windshield. The Temps were extremely low so the Crack continued across whole windshield. I called my insurance provider and she sent me the info. I was in Montana at the time heading east. I scheduled the replacement to be done in Indiana where I was staying anew days. Service man Jeff came to house and replaced it. I headed back west the next day and kept hearing a strange concerning sound from windshield. I was on the road and in storm weather for 4 days. I got back Wed and went to car wash Thursday only to realize that the ice and dirt was on the inside right corner of my windshield. Then the story really begins with me trying to get my issue resolved. It was hours on the phone with computers and even humans. Nothing was done or accomplished to fix my windshield. I will try today but I have nothing good to say about how this product was installed or reliable ways to fix it $500. read more

‼DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE‼ UPDATE: We were out of town this weekend for a funeral and I just got in my car to drive it to the body shop. My car is soaking wet . Floor, seats, speakers and all. A rock flew up and hit my windshield, so I made a claim with my insurance company and they use safelite. I didnt even want to take my vehicle there because the reviews are HORRENDOUS!! After going back and forth with Allstate, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I called their insurance claim phone number- set up my appointment and still have my confirmation email. 3/30 930am I drop it off Wednesday night becuase I have to work in the morning. Didn't hear anything all day until 430pm. One of their associates proceeds to tell me I didn't have an appointment so they thought it was someone else's vehicle. They removed my cracked windshield and put the incorrect windshield in. They only realized this was not the correct vehicle when the other customer dropped their vehicle off later that day. They took the new windshield out and put my old cracked windshield back in. It was more cracked than when I dropped it off and they didn't put it back in correctly so I had to cover it with a tarp. I was afraid water would leak into my 2021 Subaru and ruin my baby. They don't even check the vin or anything when they work on your vehicle. Do better Safelite!! Poor job, no prep work was done so the side trim and door trim had hung down. No bolts put in to hold trim under the hood and two bolts with the heads drilled off but not replaced. Long strips of black adhesive was found inside and on top of car. This installer did not care. read more

Furthermore, the agent said when the work was done I could use any form of payment. The work was done yesterday and when my sister was ready to write a check the technician said. This place is the WORST! They don't show up when they say they will. They had to reschedule, said they were too busy that day to get to me. When they did show up, he sat inside my vehicle and pushed the windshield out with his feet which shattered the windshield. Small shards of glass were all in my vehicle, on my concrete driveway. He did vacuum but didn't get it all. Very disappointed. I Will never use them again. A word to the wise: read the reviews about having Safelite fix the small chip in your windshield. They are notorious for breaking your windshield while trying to fix the chip. They will tell you they are not responsible for breaking it. I finally got my front window replacement and fix after a three times going there. i havnt been to happy with there office staff either. theres a heavyset women at rhe front desk thar doesn't do anything that I can tell. everytime I'm there, all she does is hang up customer keys then she sits there and plays on her phone. I was up there for 3 hours at a time and watched her doing coloring books, eating and playing on the phone. she wouldn't even take my paymenr, one of the guys in the garage has to tak it. i seen them doing all the customer service work . those guys in the garage seems like rhere getting the shaft from savelote by making them do jobs that there not suppose to and I think th e front lady is rude And lazy to ignore customers I'm not sure if there's more than one receptionist I only seen her the times I was there. I should have got her name. I would rather drive with a broke front windshield than go through that all again having to come back several times and to my car dealer ship and sitting in a waiting room for hours. I had my rear window replaced. After getting home I noticed glass on my trunk lid and all over in my trunk. There are new scratches in my paint, which were probably caused by the broken glass. I don't even know if the install is good or not, but they were careless. I should have spent the extra money and took it to a professional. read more

Hairline crack on my 2019 2500 Silverado LTZ W 19000 MILES BOUGHT NEW..Id reschesuled for Safelite mobile service right after roads were clear enough for them to come out. The guy setup some windshield stand etc to start the job. Struggles getting windshield out, FINALLY got new glass up on truck. I walked out to make sure they were paid the fella was friendly polite etc. Gave me instructions on removing tape and when i could wash truck. Which i dont drive daily.. what he failed to tell me was while struggling to get job done he put a dent in my hood right under windshield on drivers side. Cant seem to reach noone. And wrote them thru the Contact US on website. Im not happy and hope someone makes this right after a week. Ive still not moved the ttuck from the location it was repaired so noone says it happen after the fact. Im totally not a happy camper with the fact he knew he put the dent in my duramax hood. After fighting for two days on the phone, (first day my insurance company gave up) got threw, after all the contact info, insurance stuff the girl asked me about OPM glass which is ford true glass, we called insurance and got ok, but hindsight she did not ask about OPM glass, scheduled and appointment next day, I drove an hour there as I have lane assistance, etc, was not greated properly, reseptionest was grabbing keys to run with it, I went thru to make sure i was getting what was promised, and then it turned into well you have to order it, it take 5 to 7 days to get it. ( like dummy me) so she tried your going to have to wait to pressure. Me in my 2500 miles new truck, so i had to drive home an hour, safe lights responded in sorry, you have to schedule and get approval, no call, no i care nothing. Just pre text responses. Beware of this horrible place. Not only do they not back their warranty, they badmouth customers to other people! My car was at my dealership when Safelite came to to NOT repair a faulty windshield and then proceeded to tell the people I work with there that I was negligent and apparently badmouthed me to the guy for some time!! I cannot think of anything more unprofessional than badmouthing your customers!! Barry (or Brett) actually tried to argue with me and tell me I had never had them repair my windshield --this place is a low class as they come! -unprofessional -READ the fine print--there really is NO WARRANTY if your insurance company covers your windshield!!!! -BBB has hundreds of complaints against them for not honoring warranty -at least one website dedicated to telling people about their deceitful practices -they come to your house, but it is not worth it!!! read more

I was scheduled to get my windshield replaced because my rear view mirror broke Off of it and they were scheduled to replace it during the time slot from 12-5. They ended up calling even before the time slot saying that they couldn't make it because they were too booked up (why tell us this on the day of? why is my appointment not important enough to cancel but other ones aren't?) and so a guy texted me asking for my availability and I told him and then radio silence. We ended up having to call them and ask what was up? They ended up making an appointment for us but never told us when it was for. Then we called them the day of our appointment (time slot of 8am-12pm) to make sure that they were going to the right place, but then told us that our appointment was moved to 1pm and I had to bring my car into the shop (again we had to call them for them to tell us this stuff). So I go to drop my car off and 30 minutes after I had dropped off my car they call me to tell me that my glass was never delivered (couldn't tell me when I dropped off my car?? did they never get the glass for the first appointment) and I asked the guy how long it would take for the glass to be delivered since I need this done ASAP and he just says "that's a great question". it took calling management after this to finally get my car to be repaired because a guy accidentally loaded up the glass in the wrong truck. the worst communication I have ever seen from a company and just overall soooo unprofessional and seem to not care for their customers. Yet to see the finished work, but the finished work won't even make up for this shit show of an experience that I had to go through and will never be doing business with them again. read more

DO NOT USE SAFELITE!!! We were told that they would be able to come out to our place of work to fix my windshield. Knowing that we live in Indiana they should be well aware of the weather as well as time of year. Received a phone call 15-20 minutes before the technician was to come repair the windshield and was told if we did not have a covered area he could not fix it because it was too cold out. Since I lived close I asked the technician if he could meet us at my home and use the garage so he did. When I got there the technician had the wrong windshield and had parked his van horizontal to my garage to block the cold air instead of closing my garage door. He then informed me that he could not fix it since it was a the wrong window and we had to wait until the following week to get the windshield repaired. The technician was VERY rude and slammed his doors to his vehicle and told me that "I should of had the windshield repaired in the shop" and backed up into our new lawn and sprinkling system we put in this year and peeled out of my driveway. When I called to complain about him I was given the wrong phone number to our local office so I decided to drop by. Of course when I went into the shop I was greeted as "What can I do for you sweetie" and the store manager was not in. It took him a few days to "be back in the office" and respond back to me. We had decided upon a settlement agreement for the lawn/sprinkling system and was informed that he would get this taken care of and sent to me. Over a week went by and I did not receive any compensation. When I emailed him it took him days to respond back and then he informed me that I was supposed to sign a release form that was sent to. #1 I did not receive a release form nor did he inform me that I would be getting a form to sign. #2 I signed the form and sent back to him on 12/18/2019 and have still not gotten anything. I have emailed him and have gotten NO REPLY. I have also called the shop and again he is "out of the office"- this guy must have the greatest vacation package known to man to always be out of the office. So I called the Corporate Office and it turns out my release form was never turned in so I had to re-submit and now wait until next week to get the check as they said it would be overnighted as that is what I was told would happen weeks ago. Never use Safelite to repair or replace glass in your vehicle! I scheduled with them this past Saturday to have my truck windshield replaced it had a 12 inch crack in the front windshield. The technician was very nice but after 6 hours of trying unsuccessfully to remove the windshield he left. He said he would call a more experienced tech to help him with the job. After about 2 hours he called back and said it was getting later and he had no response from the other tech he had reached out to be able to complete the job. So I how am I supposed to get to work on Monday at 4 a.m?. The tech said he didn't have anybody who works on Sundays. The tech said he would call and get me another appointment. I get a text an hour later saying that I have to wait till Wednesday to get it repaired. This is totally unacceptable. The state in which he left my truck is undriveable and I have to keep it inside my barn because it will leak should it rain or snow. This is the most terrible service I have ever experienced and I hope nobody uses them! read more

At 12:30 and no show yet, I called the number which they had called the previous day to confirm to find where the tech was...she couldn't tell me so she transferred me to the tech's cell phone. He said he didn't know that my appointment was from 8-noon and he would make me the next stop which would be around 2:30.
