The place definitely feels "bargain" in the sense that the waiting room looks awful, the front desk in unfriendly and there's no information communicated. Would never choose to came back to this location if there was another location close by. I had my window replaced 1 week ago where I noticed the tech didn't attach the cap under my rearview mirror correctly when i was leaving. When i brought it to their attention the receptionist spoke with the tech who said he knew about it but seems to me they weren't going to tell me since they gave me my keys to leave and i had to mention it to them. read more

Safelite is not a company I can recommend to anyone who values punctuality or respect for a customer's time. I booked an appointment in their 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM window due to an important obligation later in the afternoon. Although a five hour window is unreasonable to begin with, I was ready at 8:00 AM. At 12:30 PM, I was notified the technician would arrive between 1:00 and 1:30. At 1:30, that changed to 2:30. This required me to rearrange my afternoon commitments. Then, at 2:45, I received yet another update pushing the arrival to between 3:00 and 3:30. The technician finally showed up at 3:45. If Safelite cannot honor their own scheduling windows, it raises the question of why they offer them at all. I will not be using their services again. I refuse to give my money to a company that treats their customers this way. read more

Completely wasted my time. Set up appointment online for vent glass on my car. First off online, you cannot click the vent glass for the back window.It only shows it as being in the front, which is extremely confusing. When they showed up the first time, they didn't have the correct glass, so they said someone would be in contact with me to set up a new appointment. Well no one called me and I had to call them. Set up another appointment for the following week, only for them to reach out to me to tell me, they didn't have the part yet and that they were trying to get in touch with Volkswagen, and they would get in touch with me either way, once they figured out what they were going to do. It took me calling them several hours later, as I'm wasting my day, waiting for them to find out they weren't coming.. They rescheduled a different date without my confirmation.And when I called to change the time to the morning, they had no availability. My window has been broken for several weeks now.All because they are incompetent and are horrible at communication with zero sense of urgency for a broken glass. read more

Absolute worst experience ever, waited 6 hours for them to show up late with the wrong windshield after telling the girl on the phone I do not have rain sensing wipers. They still showed up with the wrong windshield. I called back to reschedule, the call center told me they would be back out same day to take care of it and apologized. I waited another four hours. No one showed up and when I called the technician he had no idea what I was talking about and then blamed me for calling the call center to reschedule instead of waiting for him to call me which was never discussed. NEVER AGAIN. UPDATE: after rescheduling and bringing car to safelite service center to have new windshield put in, less than 24 hours later the windshield has a stress crack! Due to incorrect install or a chip on edge during shipping. I bring it back next day only to be told I have to wait a week for the glue to dry before they can warranty replace it. My advice to everyone is go to your dealer even if it's more money. My time and aggravation was not worth it. read more

I do not recommend using this or ANY Safelite is you are having glass issues. When installing a new back window, they damaged my car. Paint was chipped and the glass was not laid properly cause the rubber to bend inwards and create water damage. The manager, Joesph Nicoletti, said he would handle the issue and would be contacting me to fix the problems created under his staff. He did not. I now have to go through my insurance company, filing another claim, to solve the issue created by them. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY! read more

My husband and I were driving home out of state when something dropped from an overpass on 287 and nearly shattered our windshield. After a state trooper filed an incident report, he suggested we drive our car to the local Safelight at 198 NY-59 in Nanuet, NY and get it repaired before driving the remainder of the way home. The employee working at the desk told us that he would have to order the windshield (we completely understood), and that he couldn't schedule us until Saturday (it was Monday), even though we could schedule with them for Wednesday through the website. I explained that we live in a different state, and asked if we could leave our car at the shop so we could get a ride home. He told me it'd be a problem because someone would probably vandalize our car in their parking lot. Again, I get it, there are plenty of things that are out of an employee's control, and they clearly didn't want to deal with us. But when I asked him if there was anywhere nearby that might be able to help us- with a crying toddler on my hip, a dying phone battery, a severely cracked windshield, zero knowledge of the area, an hour before businesses starting closing- he looked me dead in the eye and told me to "google our competitors". Not knowing what else to do, my husband and I made the decision to drive the better part of three hours home. It was one of the most stressful things I've ever done, and having our two year old in the car with us made it terrifying. We've never had a problem with our local Safelight, and we were able to schedule a repair with them at our house for the very next morning. I don't know what was going on at the Nanuet Safelight, but it was the worst experience I've ever had with a business. Avoid this place. read more

My windshield was chipped back on May 24th. It was slightly larger than a dollar bill. I scheduled an appointment for the following Sunday. When i dropped my car off to be fixed at the store location, I was told it would be done by the end of the day. Long story short, the replacement windshield did not have the molding attached and needed to be ordered separately. I was given a time frame of 6-8 weeks for delivery. It is now NOVEMBER 7th and I still have heard nothing. I've been told 3 times that the store's managers have been alerted to the problem yet I have not heard from them. I was told by one employee that he would absolutely call me back the following day (last Friday) yet again had to follow up with them since their communication and follow up has been absolutely abysmal. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. read more

She also stated , that my vehicles front glass is a problem. So I called the Dealership to see if there is a recall on the front glass. And there's no recall on the veichle. Extremely unprofessional. I have a cracked windshield and made an appt to have it replaced. Appt was for 9am on 1/11/23. Got there 8:40am, handed them the keys and they said it would be about 2 hours. Got a call at 10:40am saying that the windshield they had to replace mine with was scuffed up and scratched, and that it was very noticeable. They had the nerve to ask me if I still wanted it. I said no and was furious that they wasted my time because I had taken off from work. They should have already inspected the windshield to make sure it was fine before they took my car in.. Called safelite customer service, spoke to a manager and explained what happened and told them I wanted to make an appt to have someone come to me because I can't take off work again. She said okay. I specified I did not want to deal with Nanuet because of their unprofessionalism. She said it would be Mt. Kisco safelite. My appt was for today, between 9am-1pm. I received a text message in the morning verifying my appt. 1:30pm comes around and I call safelite to see where they are. The rep looks into it and says that the tech assigned to service us was removed from our appt but they never reached out to us to make us aware. We asked who was supposed to come out to us and they said Nanuet, but the manager we spoke to originally that made our appt for today said it was supposed to be Mt. Kisco. There is a lot of miscommunication throughout safelite. They have wasted two of my days already and I am furious! They didn't even have an answer as to what happened today. I'm pretty sure it was done deliberately because we called and spoke to a manager right away after they wasted our time the first time. Couldn't tell me why the tech was removed and no one ever reached out to me to tell me that they wouldn't be able to come. I've been waiting all day for nothing. I wrote them an excellent review and I can't seem to change it. When they reinstalled the wipers they didn't screw them in properly. I almost got in a car accident!!!! I could not see where I was going because the wipers broke!!! I went to a shop and paid $100 to fix the wipers. Safelite said they'd pay me for the repair. Months and months waiting for the check. Set up an appointment online Tuesday-got a call that their mobile tech already left for Jersey so rescheduled for Wed 1:30-5:30. 6pm they sent a survey but NO TECH EVER ARRIVED OR CALLED. If I could give no stars I would. I have a Subaru Outback and had arranged to have an original Subaru windshield installed for a small fee of $67.02. After confirming this TWICE (before and after) the install, I found that my lane departure system wasn't working. They made another appointment (never get to speak to anyone) and 2 days before the 2nd visit , was contacted by a manager telling me that the windshield installed was NOT an original and it was going to be ordered. They also said the $67.02 was wrong and it would be more money. They then told me that I didn't pay them anything yet. ALL lies. I did pay them and have proof of the charge with a receipt. The original windshield info was confirmed twice with the installer and they blamed everything on the insurance company. I called my insurance company and have demanded only Subaru fix this. Don't trust Safelite. They lie. If my electronics didn't fail due to them not calibrating it correctly, I would never have known they did a bait and switch. I brought my Subaru outback here for a windshield replacement. I had my old car done for same thing and the windshield lasted almost 10 years and still no problem even hit with small stones. Unfortunately, I could not say same thing with my Subaru outback. With only few months and probably damage with small stones, the windshield sustained a crack. Mind you, the price for the replacement is $1,100!!! So I called for their so called "Nationwide Warranty" but that only covers for any issues related during the actual windshield replacement like air or water leaks around windshield but not the quality of the windshield. So I will never go back again to Safelite nor would recommend Safelite to any of my friends or relatives. I mean, who in the right mind would pay more than double the price when other places offer $350 -$500 with the same warranty. Safelite glass seems to be very poor now so I lost trust with them. I try my luck at other place for cheaper price. read more

I am very disappointed. My past experience with Safelite was outstanding. I am still in the process of resolving issues. Windshield replacement was supposed to occur at my residence. Had to bring in to office to get work done. However the technicians were very courteous. Upon further inspection, the windshield fluid had not been hooked up. Left message with office on Saturday. By noon Monday no one had gotten back to me. Nanuet office has an automatic transfer to a call center that does not pick up. Two hours later I am texting the same information to an obscure agent and appear to go from one agent to another- or their agents cannot read as I have to repeat basic info every reply. I am very frustrated and do not have issued anywhere near resolved. Would prefer office where work was done would either call or at least answer their phone. read more

I developed a crack in my windshield and checked with my insurance regarding a fix/replacement. I decided to use Safelite to have my windshield replaced based on the great reviews and recommendations from friends. I was able to set up the appointment through my insurance, and even better, asked that they come to my job to do the replacement. On the appointed day, I received an email confirming which tech would be out, the estimated time, and provided with a satellite view to help the tech locate my car. Unfortunately, it began pouring, so the tech called me to reschedule, and gave me an appointment a few days later. This morning, the new tech called to provide an estimated time of arrival, along with text updates. Jordan was great! He was very professional, explained everything, was able to save my inspection and registration stickers, and even vacuumed the floor of the car for me. The windshield looks great and not only did they save me time and hassle by coming to me, it didn't cost me anything (thank you Geico). Overall, this was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more
