I'll update my review. Finally got my windshield calibrated. It was done at home, and turns out the problem was that my camera had been knocked out of place I assume during the initial replacement. The latest technician who came to the house to put in a new OEM windshield noticed it and snapped it back, and therefore didn't need to replace the windshield a second time after all. So last visit was 5 stars, but the overall process prior to that was poor. But Safelite kept at it and finally got it fixed. So moving from 1 to 3 stars. read more

Not specific to this store. I had a chip, made the appointment online for the next day between 8am and noon. They did not show. Around 1:30 I reached out. After dealing with Ai chat bots for a bit I finally got a person. They reached out to the tech and said it would be soon. Long story short. At 6pm safelite canceled my appointment and gave me a refund. Keep in mind I did not request a cancelation. Next day I called asking if they could fix it that day, u know to make things right. Im still willing to pay. They said no. So I took my business to a much friendlier place in Mooresville. Im sure most the time safelite is fine. But if its not its very easy to see thay dont care about you as a customer or a person. The dont recognize how hard it is for a normal person to move things around just for a no show. Over 3 weeks ago they replaced our windshield (which wasn't an OEM) and it didn't pass inspections. They had us come pick up our van with multiple flashing lights on the dash and safety features that aren't working (Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, etc) to drive until the OEM part came in. We have been driving our 3 children without safety features for weeks now due to this. We've had MULTIPLE appointments made and then cancelled on us. We showed up for MULTIPLE appts to be told they didn't have the part, and they have now no-showed to do it remotely at our home (all these appts were confirmed via auto text). So frustrating considering this is our family vehicle and we are adjusting our work schedules and childcare to accommodate these appts. Getting in touch with someone at the store has been near impossible and communication from the customer service line to store location has been extremely dysfunctional (going back and forth saying they can or can't replace it remotely, that they ordered the part and then saying it hasn't been ordered yet, or telling us they will have the part then they don't). Had to replace a window. They scheduled me for an appointment and when I showed up, they said the window wasn't there yet and I would need to come back a week or so later. When I went back the second time, they replaced my window but didn't recalibrate my lane departure system (which is the feature that made it necessary for me to take it in - versus them coming to me - in the first place). I didn't find this out until I got home (forgot to test at shop). Then, because it's my wife's vehicle that I seldom drive, weeks later I'm driving in the rain and realize they screwed up the windshield wipers (they go about 80% of the span they're supposed to, and they come to rest an inch below the windshield). So now I have to go back a THIRD time. My opinion: Avoid at all costs. read more

Very disappointing experience at the Safelite location in Pineville, NC. What should have been a straightforward windshield replacement turned into multiple appointments, missed calls, and poor communication. The first technician left my vehicle without a rear-view mirror and never followed up as promised. After several days of trying to reach someone, I finally got a second appointment. That visit ran late, and the recalibration couldn't be completed before dark. I was told to come in the next day for a quick 10-minute fix, which ended up taking over an hour. For a $500 service, I expected much better communication, coordination, and professionalism. I lost work time, had to make multiple follow-up calls, and felt my time and concerns were treated as unimportant. I had my windshield replaced in September 2025. And while the windshield is great, they broke the clips on my visors. They told me they would have the clips and replaced them within two weeks. I still do not have any clips and I cannot get anyone to give me any information despite my multiple phone calls and contacting customer care. I've been trying for four months. I keep being told someone will be in touch with you and yet I have yet to hear from anyone about the clips. read more

Sunday July 13 After the windshield for my Toyota was cracked by a rock on the highway, I researched multiple vendors, large and small, including Safelite. After collecting detailed info about my car - VIN, Make, Model, Year -- Safelight quoted me about $500, a full $200 below my second choice. The AI-powered, self-described "Safelite Bot" kicked in and made it easy for me to schedule an appointment and began hitting me with AI text messages to confirm. Lots of no-human-in sight text message nurturing followed. Days later, the Safelite Bot informed me that my car needed recalibration, and the new price would roughly double to just under $1,000. Apparently, the Bot did not know this about my car when it quote the original lowball number. I was notified that the time to do the job would also increase, and I needed to make sure the car had 3/4 of a tank of gas for the recalibration. In my car, this equates to 350 miles of highway driving. I went back to my second choice and they confirmed that their quote of about $750 was still good. Human being Julia was helpful, professional, responsive and courteous. By text message she confirmed the original quote had already included recalibration and would take about 3 hours. I finished up the interaction by asking if I could call her on the text number and she said yes - I was delighted to talk to a human being immediately. So I cancelled the Safelite appointment. The Safelite Bot immediately offered me a discount. I guess the Safelite Bot thinks I'm stupid. No thanks. So in sum: Safelite lowballed me, then doubled the price, then offered me a discount when I walked, and at no point in time did a human being get involved. I doubt at this moment that a Safelite employee even knows I exist. The whole thing smells of manipulation and dishonesty from some corporate office in the cloud. Here's a clue, corporate America. Don't be like Safelite. My appointment at option #2 happens tomorrow (7/14). I will update this report later this week. ***UPDATE*** Saturday July 19 The first indication of any human beings at Safelite was the response to this post. Option #2 was Glass Doctor of Charlotte. I showed up on time at Glass Doctor for my July 14th appointment and talked to a human immediately. I confirmed that the service included recalibration and mentioned that I only had a quarter tank of gas, and that Safelite said I needed 3/4 of a tank. They seemed puzzled as to why this would be and said it wasn't an issue. They asked if I wanted to drop it off or wait. I asked how long it would take and they said a couple hours. I said I'd wait, sat down in their large waiting area, logged on to their Wi-Fi, proceeded to do some work email and had a short online meeting for work. 90 minutes in they walked up to me and said they were all done. They said I should take it easy driving home - no hard road bumps or door slams for 24 hours, but otherwise I was good to go. I paid the bill - no surprises. The windshield looks perfect with no issues a week later. I was home within 2 hours of arriving at the shop, arriving to find an email with a detailed warranty including any calibration corrections if needed. None are needed - works like it did fresh out of the showroom. Bottom line? Do your homework and don't assume the corporate giant is the right choice - especially if there are no humans in sight. read more

For once, my windshield was not broken, but I was surprised to learn that my rearview mirror is apparently secured to the rest of the car by being glued in to a piece where the windshield attaches, and apparently the glue can just give out. Maybe replacing windshields makes this more likely, I don't know. Regardless, when I stopped into this location with a detached mirror, they only briefly asked about my repair history with them and proceeded to reattach the mirror quickly, for no cost, and without an appointment. Having driven there without the benefit of the mirror, I was very happy they took care of it quickly as I had a long road trip ahead of me. It's still bizarre to me that this is a thing that can happen, but whatever blame Safelite might or might not have in this case, they seem to have resolved the problem appropriately. read more

Would not recommend!! This location in particular uses extremely deceptive business practices. While I have utilized Safelite's business previously, my experience today left MUCH to be desired and I most certainly will not be using them again. They falsely advertised to work with my insurance company, and then deceptively charged my card much more than the scheduling agent confirmed I would need to pay due to me providing my insurance claim and claim number. I specifically booked with Safelite due to the website marketing their willingness to "work with/contact your auto insurance so customers can stress less". Upon calling in to schedule my appointment I had already filed the insurance claim myself and gave my claim number, doing most of the initial work for them. Safelite failed to verify my insurance resulting in a very costly charge to my card on file, almost double the cost of my deductible. While I received several messages throughout my service stating the technician would walk me through payment, I instead got to watch the technician charge my card while simultaneously handing me my car keys immediately upon me answering the door- without verifying or mentioning my cost/deductible. When I called in to clarify why I was charged such an exuberant amount the assistant manager Nicole, who I spoke to for a total of 52 seconds, sounded extremely disinterested, confirmed they did not go thru my insurance and then directed me to my insurance company to issue a refund. The same insurance company that Safelite markets themselves as willing to speak to on my behalf so that I'm able to receive my windshield repair stress free. When I attempted to call back I was informed by other agents that Nicole refused any further calls from me because we had already spoken, which I assume was her referring to the initial phone call that lasted less than a minute in which she directed me to do her job. Please, for the sake of your wallet, time, and peace of mind, take a little time out of your schedule and take your car elsewhere to be serviced. I'd give zero stars if possible. read more

Front desk - same person I talked to on the phone - says you are late. We cancelled your appointment. Understand I was late but why say it's ok over the phone and then have me come in just to tell me rudely that you cancelled the appointment. read more

I scheduled a windshield replacement for July 11th. Guy comes out and is missing the side moldings for my car, whatever, it's an older car. I'm fine. I contact them the following Wednesday to say that I have the moldings. They say someone might be out that Friday but that they would reach out if not. I call them Saturday when nobody reaches out to me. Seems like the customer care rep is under the impression that a manager rescheduled it but she can't see it. Says she will call me end of day Saturday or Monday. Today is Monday. Nobody contacted me. The shop is closed. I called the corporate line to complain. They can't help me. They say my service was ALREADY INVOICED and that they can't reschedule. In short, never pay these people ahead of time. Get them to do the service before you give them money because otherwise they'll just take it and spend no time trying to actually help you. read more

The service experience with Safelite in Pineville was one of the worst and must frustrating experiences. First they made an on-site appointment for my car then cancelled it via text days after appointment made because it had to be done at their shop. The day of the repair, I spent most of my workday on hold or chatting thru text trying to pay my invoice and contact the shop directly rather than an "agent". I was on the phone two different times for over 45 minutes each with no resolution to what I called about (making payment). You can't just call the actual location but have to go through customer service who transfers you to the location but no one would ever pick-up the phone in Pineville. I was concerned about not making it by 5:00 when they closed so wanted to go ahead and pay and arrange for my key to be left and car pulled out, but no luck talking to anyone to arrange this from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm despite my numerous attempts. It got to be a joke at the school I teach at because anytime someone walked by me, I was on the phone with Safelite .....at recess, lunch and carpool duty! When I finally got there, the person at the desk was disinterested (like another reviewer stated too), and I stood outside for over 15 minutes waiting for them to bring my car around (and the first car they brought around wasn't even mine). They were "closed" and I was still standing out front in an empty parking lot waiting for my car. Go anywhere but here for your auto glass needs. read more

This is a general review for Safelite, not necessarily this branch. I was quoted online $555.07 for my repair and I signed up for the appointment. When the guy arrived today, he told me the job would be $981! I asked why as he wasn't sure. He called someone and they said it was due to the calibration that needed to be done. Then include that in your quote upfront! I have another company doing the job for over $200 less now. read more

They replaced windshield, couldn't calibrate it. Came back for them to put another OEM windshield in the next week. Still couldn't calibrate it. 3 days later I'm sitting in my driveway and hear a pop and the windshield cracks straight up the middle. So they can't calibrate windshields(look at all the other reviews saying the same). They apparently can't install them either because nothing hit mine it just spontaneously cracked while sitting in my driveway. Do not go here. They old man that did the work tried to tell me the cameras were foggy. I have one eye and I can see them fine, idk if he has glaucoma or what but he doesn't know what he's doing obviously. Go anywhere else. Don't waste 6hours of your life two different days and still end up with a broken windshield in the end. read more

Took my vechile in for a replacement since it was a 2023 and they can't do it at my home. They installed a damaged windshield. It took a lot of scheduling to bring it in the first time with my kids but a second was really rough. I brought in, let them know I was on a time crunch because I didn't want to pay $20/hr for a babysitter when my kids get home and I was stuck here. They didn't care. They were extremely rude and not helpful. So now I pay for their mistake. Never again. read more
