Booked an appointment for a windshield repair online and they had availability a day later. Their system is great about confirming your appointment plus a follow up call before arriving. I arrived half an hour before my appointment time and they were able to get my repair done even before my scheduled time. It was a nice surprise and cost about $200 for two little nicks in my windshield. The technician also mentioned that they have a lifetime guarantee so if the cracks got worse, they would apply what I paid for it toward a windshield replacement. My windshield had to be replaced and calibrated as per Subaru guidelines. They told me it would be 3 to 4 hours, and that included waiting for one hour after the windshield was finished before driving the car. They actually called me about two hours later and told me that it was done. They vacuumed the floorboards and washed the outside of the windows. They didn't bother to lift the windshield wiper on the back so there was still dirt on the bottom of the window by the windshield wiper. I just don't understand why they need to move the seats and the mirror just to drive a little bit. And why they even have to drive except to move the car into the Work area and then back to the parking lot. There were a few miles put on the car so I don't know where they went. It's always a major readjustment for me to try and get the car back the way I like it. Receptionist was very nice. They did have a comfortable waiting room and there were plenty of snacks. read more

Brought my car here when it was covered by insurance, installation was terrible quality and obviously not sealed correctly. When I brought the car back, the staff didn't apologize and instead just said they had lots of appointments and wouldn't even start looking at fixing their work until after the glue had fully set in a week from now. Needed a windshield replacement and can say I am not disappointed at all in the service. It was a little sketchy in the beginning dealing with their contracted scheduler that isn't local, but once I got past that and was working with local staff it all came together well. Cannot comment on value as this was a warranty claim. I had to make an appointment and wait as I didn't have a ride to just drop and come back. Seeing this, staff worked very quickly to get me in and out of there. A service that was expected to take 2-3 hours took just under two. Very friendly staff comfortable waiting area. I've used them twice and was left disappointed both times. I will not be returning. First time I had the windshield replaced on my Saab 9-2x. They arrived and didn't have the correct windshield or the right seal. It's a fairly obscure car so I let it slide (although it's really just a Subaru Impreza and I told them that). The windshield is fine but the seals look absolutely terrible. The second time I had the windshield replaced on my 4Runner. They unnecessarily removed the cabin air filter to try to upsell me on a replacement. While doing this, they let debris fall into the blower motor which caused a loud ticking sound coming from the vents. I figured that was the issue but they recommended against fixing it myself and my wife left the car with them. After returning to pick up the car for the 2nd time, the seat belt warning light would not go off. The car was returned again and was fixed relatively quickly by a technician. The third issue, I cannot say with certainty was the fault of Safelite, though I strongly believe it was - a small spot on my passenger seat was melted, with what looks like an adhesive chemical burn. They denied it was them, as I assumed they would without absolute proof, but I'm certain this issue was not present before bringing the vehicle to Safelite. read more

Josh came to my house bad attitude when he arrived very unhappy to Have to be here! complained about my truck being too tall in spite of vehicle being stock then too dirty as had bird droppings and pine needles on it. was out front ten minutes time, he cut and tore the Top Rubber Molding Off of vehicle then Tore a chunk of pain't off with his knife leaving a knife slice in the metal! Then he pounded on my door saying I can not do the job it has rust on it! I went out and looked NO Rust was on vehicle at all, it was fine Dust that you would expect ! I took a Small brush and iit came right off! There was also elm seeds on it that were rust color but obviously plant debris! He left my vehicle Damaged which he did and he TOOK the piece of molding he Cut and tore off with him and left my vehicle VANDALIZED! I called him back and told him to bring the molding BACK to me, he made it clear he did not feel like it! Technically I could have called police and filed Charges for vandalism! He could have folded the molding back to see if they e was and rust but he chose not To he Damaged my vehicle in stead cutting into the paint ripping a chunk off with his knife cutting down to the metal! I called 1 Master Ford Technician to look for RUST he found NONE! Then I took it too TWO other glass shops to Inspect All 3 Found NO RUST AT All on MY Vehicle! Every one of those shops used their hands to pull what moldings I had left that Safelite employee JOSH had not cut off my vehicle. They gently pulled my moldings back to look like under them all saying no rust we will do the job! Later the day of appointment j Josh showed up at my house with a worse attitude than he originally showed up with the Threw the molding on the ground in front of me and stomped off grumbling there! the other shops all pre-warned me before the put a hand on my truck " saying if we do find rust we can not do the job" Josh NEVER said anything close before he vandalized my vehicle he simply complained from the second he arrived! I had my Insurance cancel anything to do with Safelite to keep him from committing fraud and filing for payment! The Insurance picked one of the three shows who inspected it! I got the job done at a honest shop with pleasant employees! It took the a hour to do the job! Customer service is nonexistent. You can't talk to anybody to confirm anything through their phone numbers. They called me four times to confirm appointments then they tell you they don't have appointments registered and then they tell you they can do it in another week or two. Picked satellite because they come to your house to replace car glass, and were top on the list as one of the preferred vendors for our insurance. The safelite guy got part of the edging off the front windshield of our 1997 Explorer and said he found a couple sections of rust around 2"-3" in length on the edge of the window, and if he found too much after removing the windshield (something like 24", cumulative) their company policy does not allow him to complete the window replacement, nor put back the old windshield. I decided against having them do the job and not risk being stuck windshield less. I appreciated the guys honesty and they refunded my copay right away. They referred us to Fast Glass who are also contracted with my insurance, so they accepted the $100 deductible. Fast Glass doesn't have the same rule, and while they can come to you for a wind shield replacement, they prefer it's done in their shop with dealing with older, rust-prone vehicles as I guess they have more tools there to handle this complication. Safelite are probably awesome if you have a newer vehicle, but maybe save yourself time and hassle and just go to Fast Glass if you have to replace the windshield of an older car. read more

Made an appointment last week was able to get in the following day if i had needed, however my work schedule didn't permit it! He even again sent me a txt message when he was on the way which was about a 45 minute heads up. Again this was greatly appreciated as I am generally busy, plus have a dog who has can be a little wild when it comes to people arriving at my home can be a bit tumultuous at times. Northern Nevada is notorious for killing car windshields and I have had a few while living here and going up and down the Nevada roads. Watch out for those flying rocks! The work looks good. Okay, I understand why things happened the way they did. But I had several friends who said I should post my experience. See, I live 3 hours away from Reno. I made an appointpment for a windshield replacement. I called the phone number the day of the appointment to confirm the appointment time. All good so far. Drove 3 hours to Reno. I arrived at the shop at my scheduled time. And found out I'd somehow scheduled the appointment for the following day. Major oops. Mea culpa. But I couldn't go the following day. It was going to be a month before I could make the trip again. I asked to see if they could fit me in any way. After all, I dedicated 6 hours to this trip. But they didn't work me in. I know they weren't obligated to. I know it was evidently my mistake. But how would you feel if they, knowing you drove 6 hours for a 2-3 hour appointment, told you sorry, can't do it, come back another time? In another month? So that's my story. Safelight is the absolute worst. What a scam. I had a 1/2 inch crack that had been in my windshield for a while and wasn't bothering me much, but Safelite told me they would fix it, bill my insurance, and it wouldn't cost me anything (no deductible and not even a chargeable incident). Well, one week after "fixing" the crack, it had grown from 1/2 inch to over 8 inches. There's no warranty for "repairs" and now I have to replace the windshield. Well, that's going to cost me $1000 out of pocket for my insurance deductible. Is this just a scam to get people to try to repair windshields and then get stuck having to replace? I needed to get my windshield replaced and my insurance stated I needed to use Safelite. They could not come out to my house because of the collaboration for the window. I was able to make an appointment for that following week. The experience getting the windshield replaced was good and I didn't have any issues. The appointment I had was at 4 pm so they didn't get done till after 5 pm (they close at 5) I brought my car home and was excited to have a new windshield. I walked out to my car to put the stuff back into the trunk (trunk needed to be empty for the service) and I noticed that there was paint missing in the top corner. I called the 800 numbers online (there is no direct number to the Reno location listed online) but they were already closed. I called first thing the next morning. They told me I had to bring the car back down. I wasn't able to bring the car that day because I had work and wouldn't make it till after they were closed. I went the next day. I went inside and told them that I was instructed to come in. They went in the back and talked to the manager. They knew I was coming in. I told them what I had noticed and they told me it was done before I brought my car in. I had pictures from my house cameras that show me leaving my house the day of the appointment right before the appointment without the paint missing but the photo that they had in their system in their before file showed that the paint was already missing. In the photo that they showed me it was not a picture of the whole window so there is no way to prove that it was there before. My car is fairly new and has never had the windshield replaced before this. I was disappointed how quickly they were to dismiss the issue not being their problem. read more

Took the car in early am. Was notified that car was in pre inspection at 3:30. Went down there at 5:00. They still had to calibrate the mirror. Waited a few minutes. Husband complained about the visible flaw where the gasket meets the frame. One tech said nothing you can do about that. I guess they had to defend the shoddy installation. I'm very surprised. I had a completely cracked windshield on my 13' beetle. Parts are hard to get so there was a little bit of a mix-up at first, but my technicians were awesome! Lexi came first when the wrong windshield was sent and she was incredibly apologetic, helpful, and such an awesome girly to have spoken to. I think they have their plates too full, because it's weeks out before you can get an appointment. They are the only Safelite in town, so they seem to be very entitled, callous, and apathetic. It would be great to have another competitive branch or location to provide some actual initiative, professionalism, and decorum. My 2018 Subaru Legacy had a windshield replaced in I believe 2020, and was told is an OEM windshield. Unfortunately, someone ran into my bumper the summer of 2022, and I had to get that replaced. When the bumper was replaced several warning lights popped up on my dashboard for the Eye Site warnings and other multiple sensors that specific to the windshield and calibration. These warning did not let me use the cruise control, lane departure warning, etc. I took it to Safelite to see if they could remedy the situation, but they said it was over one year of the initial replacement and since the car was in a non-moving "accident" it was out of warranty and would be $675.00 for calibration. I then took it to the local Subaru Dealership to see what they could do, and they informed me that there is nothing they can do because it is a non-OEM windshield and they would have to replace the entire thing, calibrate it, etc. I then contacted my insurance company, and they informed me that any cost would still be covered from the 2022 bumper incident, so I decided to see if Safelite would replace my perfectly good windshield or at least recalibrate my vehicle. I scheduled a calibration appointment, which was about 4 weeks later, and they were supposed to order the windshield just in case the calibration did not work. I took off work, drove the 30 minutes from my house to go to the calibration appointment and they said they had ordered the wrong windshield, because they did not know the exact model of Subaru they were scheduled to work on. Let me remind you that, that they had already worked on this exact same car and should have all the information. So, I wasted half a day for their mistake and rescheduled a calibration for a couple weeks after that. I go back a couple of weeks later, spend 3 hours of my day waiting around without a car and they calibrate my car. It worked for about 24 hours and all the dashboard warning lights came back on. I then had to reschedule a total windshield replacement a couple of weeks later and wasted another half day of my life. I come back in for the complete windshield replacement, spend 3 hours in the lobby waiting and then I come to find out that I am charged $675.00 and 3 hours of my time for the previous strict calibration as well as $1300+ for the windshield replacement and calibration. Again, I am not personally paying for this, because insurance is covering it, but this has been my fourth visit and over 12 hours of my time. However, I was under the impression that if the calibration did not work, they would apply that credit to completely replacing and calibrating the new windshield. The manager then tries to blame the entire situation on Subaru, because Subaru said their sensors only work with OEM windshields. If you remember, Safelite said they put in an OEM windshield initially back in 2019, but apparently, they did not. My biggest worry about this location is 1) Why didn't they put an OEM windshield at the very beginning in 2019? 2) Why did they only calibrate the windshield and charge me $675 and half a day, guessing that it would work, only to have me come back in and get a total windshield replacement and charge me for two calibrations? They could have just replaced the windshield and calibrated it instead of having me come in a third time. read more

Haven't even had this windshield for one month... Got a chip in it after three weeks and unfortunately Safelite doesn't allow you to speak with anybody so I made an appointment drove two hours away. Got to the appointment. The lady who did not want to provide her name with pink hair and a little heavier set refused to help us stating we needed to open a new claim, which AAA said was unfortunate because a chip is free and while it is true that we needed to do a new claim they could've done it on the spot and taking care of us, especially since we drove over two hours away. Ask the lady to speak to a manager, and she was a smart Alec as she looked over her shoulder and then flipped her head and looked over her right shoulder and then looked over her left shoulder and said nope. Looks like I'm the only one here... again AAA apologize stating that this is not how it was supposed to be and they could have completely fixed it for us on the spot... The lady wouldn't even come outside and look at the windshield or apologize for the fact that we're not able to speak with anybody when you call Safelite and all you can do is schedule a warranty appointment. have you safe flight in the past but will not be using them again and if you don't want to do a customer service job then maybe be working with the public. read more

You can't even call their local number without going through their 800 number and then I'm on hold for almost 20 minutes to get hung up on. The last time they fixed the windshield for me it took him four tries to get it right and even then it wasn't quite right. I ended up sealing it myself. On this attempt, I'm merely wanted to find out the ETA for the repair. 20 minutes on hold on their 800 number only to have it dropped. I will pay for the whole thing out of my pocket. Insurance referred me to this place. I called to make sure the windshield is replaced with a heated windshield as is today and the guy was rude and never actually answered the question directly. Booked anyways, against my better judgement, then on Saturday May 13th I get a generic text telling me my appt was cancelled; the text message looked like spam. I couldn't even tell it came from them. Once I checked my email I see that they cancelled my appt for that coming Monday, May 15th. On a recent roadtrip a rock flew up and cracked my windshield. After a quick call to the insurance company I was notified that my local Safelite Auto Glass shop was a preferred vendor. I was able to schedule an early morning appointment 7 days later which I thought was reasonable. I received a couple of e-mail reminders between the time I scheduled and the morning of my appt. I dropped my vehicle off about 7:50am this morning. The office was staffed and they checked me in efficiently and provided me with a time frame of 1 1/2 to 3 hours due to the fact that my vehicle has eyesight and requires to be recalibrated when the windshield is replaced. They have a nice waiting area but I opted to Uber it to/from work. I received a call less than 2 hours later stating my car was ready. When I arrived they provided me with paperwork which includes a lifetime warranty as long as I own the vehicle. Overall it was a great experience and they made it very easy! read more

Professional and quality work. It is definitely easier to schedule online than attempting to call and schedule. I was able to schedule my chip repair via the website. The website gives you the option of paying upfront, at time of service, insurance and I believe another option. Upon arrival, which was first thing in the morning the parking area in front of the store is chaotic to say the least. Everyone is preparing their vehicles to deploy for jobs off property. This makes it difficult to park near the business as most of the spaces have been taken by the other businesses. I am sure that they can find a better way to accommodate the morning appointment schedule. I was able to get my vehicle in and service started in a reasonable time. The service was done in the estimated time frame. I was satisfied with the repair of the chip and pleasantly surprised to see them inspect and clean all the windows of the vehicle to include the mirrors. I would recommend them as they do provide both on site and at remote services. One thing I did hear not related to my vehicle is that if you have a windshield replacement, the customer may be directed to go to the dealership to have the camera, parking assist and lane advisory system calibration done there as they could not ensure that it would be safe to operate and depend upon those features.
