I could have not went there and not needed my windshield replaced. I would recommend anywhere else and I will try and have my windshield replaced elsewhere. I've unfortunately had to use Safelite AutoGlass multiple times over the years (unfortunate for me, cost-wise). That being said, I've never had an issue with Safelite, and in fact, they tend to go above-and-beyond and are very friendly. They aren't expensive, and if you have decent insurance it shouldn't cost you anything for a repair, and very little for a replacement. Over the last 3 years I've had 3 chips in my windshield sealed for free as part of my car insurance. After arriving home on a Friday afternoon at the airport, it finally gave in and cracked 6 inches across the bottom and it was time to be replaced - to my relief actually, all of the dings were messing with my OCD. My total cost was only $200 after a $50 coupon (will vary based on your deductible). They came to my place to do the work, and after a minor issue with the seal a couple weeks later, they came back twice to fix/adjust it, without one complaint. As much as you hate to have the expense, I have nothing but good things to say about this specific Safelite location. read more

Got a chip in my windshield. Before I called Safelite, I called my insurance (GEICO) and asked if a chip in the windshield would be covered or go to my deductible. They told me if it was less than my deductible it would be an out-of-pocket expense so I decided to schedule the windshield repair on my own. When Jason got here from the Sewickley office he was very pleasant. He was quick and at the end told me to speak to my insurance because it is likely covered. When I told him what GEICO told me he urged me to look into it because chips are usually covered 100%. So I filed a claim just to find out. Turns out Jason was right and the GEICO rep was very wrong. Huge thanks to Jason for saving me $158! Big tip: if you have GEICO in the state of PA, be sure to use the claim process BEFORE calling Safelite. It required more manual work to get the claim done after the work was completed, and it would've been easier to just let GEICO schedule it online and get the claim covered immediately. read more

I have nothing but good things to day about Safelite AutoGlass. I found their website easy to navigate for both getting a quote and scheduling an appointment. They will come to you or you can go them. And there is even an option to pay ahead when you schedule to speed up the process even more. I unfortunately needed to have my entire windshield replaced. I got a few quotes online but ended up going with Safelite. I scheduled an appointment to go to their shop vs having them come to me. I paid ahead to make it easier. When I showed up at 8:15am for my 8:30am appointment, I was greeted by the friendly receptionist. She had my technician Carl come out to speak with me. When I scheduled the appointment, I was informed that it could take up to 2 hours (which the website also told me as well as the email I received confirming my appointment). Carl went over the basics with me and even had one of their quality control guys check my car first. (He wasn't sure if they'd be able to successfully replace the windshield due to a small dent.) After 90 minutes in their waiting room (complete with cable TV and complimentary drinks and snacks), the job was complete. Carl went over a few things and the warranty and I was on my way. I could not be more pleased with the overall process and strongly recommend working with Safelite for any window repair or replacement needs. read more

I had my windshield replaced the day after the PA governor mandated masks in all public places due to the pandemic. The order specifically stated even if you are alone you must take safely precautions in any area that other people will use. I came out to greet the technician with my mask on. He was not wearing a mask, but we were outside, so I stayed back 6 ft. He then proceeded to walk between me and my vehicle not saying excuse me or leaving the proper social distance between us. I went inside, but watched the install from my office window. The technician turned on his stereo in his truck and blasted it for me and all my neighbors to hear the entire time he was working. When he climbed inside of my car to attach my mirror he did not wear gloves or a mask. He also "cleaned" the window, but did a terrible job. After he left I had to disinfect the surfaces inside my car and clean the window myself. Safety and good customer service are paramount to me and unfortunately this technician did not provide either. read more

Given my insurer works closely with Safelite, I decided to take the car there instead of going to another glass replacement shop in the area. Although the windshield replacement took a lot longer than I had anticipated and was told, I found the professionalism of every employee I encountered to be of the highest quality I could have ever imagined. Seriously. These guys really love what they do and want you to be satisfied. By the time I left, I stopped caring about how long I had been there and how much money I wasted, but rather how nice the glass looked and how professional the employees are to their customers. Amazing service and staff. I needed a new windshield after a large crack appeared. Called-in and scheduled an appointment for Friday afternoon. When I got there they were back logged pretty heavily. The girl at the desk was very nice and arranged it for me to leave my car overnight and just pick it up first thing in the morning. I agreed. On Sunday my car was hit with a rock. The crack instantly started to splinter/spread. I made an appointment with Safelite for Tuesday. I work 9-5 in Southside and my car is left in a parking garage all day. Karo (my service provider) was SUPER nice and got the job done promptly. The service I received from the Safe Lite shop in Sewickley, Pa was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I first visited this shop in June 2018. My 2018 Subraru had been hit with a rock on the highway, and I needed my windshield replaced. The replacement windshield cost approximately $500. Once I left the shop, I checked my bank account and noticed that I was charged $80 more than what was listed on my receipt. When I called the shop, I was told that they had added a part to the windshield but they had not mentioned it while I was in the shop, and had forgotten to include it on the receipt. After discussing how this was not acceptable, they agreed to charge me the price listed on the receipt. Approximately a month later, I took my car to a car wash. While in the car wash, I noticed water streaming into the inside of my car. The windshield had been installed improperly. I called Safe Lite in Sewickley about this and brought my car back to the shop to have it fixed again. At that point, I realized that I had never received my inspection stickers back the first time that I brought the car in. When I told this to the employees in the shop, I was told that they no longer had them and I would need to get the car reinspected. So far, I have had to deal with my account being improperly charged, the additional time necessary to replace the windshield a second time, and the cost of having to get my car reinspected since I did not get my stickers back (approximately $80). I then take my car to get reinspected. As my car is brand new, I expected that to be an easy process. However, to my surprise, my car failed inspection. I was told that I was missing a hose that connects my wiper fluid to the windshield. The mechanic who was inspecting the car asked where the hose had gone. The only work that I have had done on that car, as it is a brand new car, was getting the windshield replaced at Safe Lite in Sewickley. The mechanic who was inspecting my car told me that to fix a windshield, they would have had to remove that hose and they likely did not put it back. Because of this, my car has now failed inspection, and I must pay to have the hose replaced and pay to get the car reinspected again. Choosing to go to the Safe Lite in Sewickley was a HUGE mistake. Not only due to the frustration from the improper charge and time needed to get the windshield replaced a second time but because it ended it up costing me approximately $200 in repairs and reinspection fees to fix their mistakes read more

Checked online for a quote, but was a little disappointed that the site was geared towards making an appointment rather than just obtaining a quote. Nonetheless, I needed to get a new windshield, and just wanted it done. I had found a decent sounding coupon code and figured the price would be good or at least reasonable after the discount I went through the appointment process and got my quote - $343 after the discount was applied. That seemed a little high, so I checked the next place in the list. $160! And, they were able to do the work a day earlier, and did a fine job. I chose to use Safelite to replace my windshield in my 2011 Ford Fusion. I had scheduled for them to come on March 14th between 8am and 12pm. The technician Alex called me at 8:30 am and asked if I would be able to change my appointment to the afternoon and I had explained to him that I could not do that due to my work schedule he then told me he would try to fit me in before I had to work. He then called me at 10am and said he would call me as soon as he was leaving the job he was at now and come fix my windshield before I had to go to work. It is now 12:33pm haven't heard anything from him and he didn't bother to show up. Safelite is very unprofessional and I would not recommend to anybody!! read more

I didn't find out until a few days later when I had mud splashed on my windshield on the highway and almost crashed into another car and almost hit a guide rail. I had a ding in my windshield of a type I had fixed before. The guy who showed up gave me some story about how it wasn't such a deep hole it couldn't be fixed, then did a half ass job. As I said, other guys from other companies twice before had fixed this same sized ding. Not this Safelight guy. A good sized rock hit my windshield while I was on a road trip and it started out as a smaller crack and then as I had to keep driving the crack spread down the windshield and to the left. So now my whole windshield had to be replaced. So annoying and not something I'd like to be doing on a beautiful Pittsburgh day. But! The people are so nice. From the lady that checked me in to the gentleman who replaced my windshield...it made the process much more bearable. Their waiting area is really clean and pleasant. They have coffee, wi-fi and a very nice bathroom right there. There is even a desk where you can sit at with your kids or if you have a laptop to work on. There is also plenty of seating and the area is air conditioned. Right above the desk is a tv that distracts you from realizing you're about to fork out a nice chunk of change to replace your windshield. Another plus is their little selection of snacks just in case you get hungry including a popcorn machine. They thought of everything! read more

I don't typically leave reviews but I had a horrible experience with Safelite. I originally had a VERY small crack on my windshield from a rock and Safelite came and fixed it two days later. This was my first time handling something like this so I didn't know what the finished repair would look like. First off, they cracked my windshield much further (which they warned would happen bc of pressure), but it didn't look like it was filled properly and I could feel a bump on the crack after the repair. They also left little pieces of glass all over my windshield and inside my car. 4 days later, the "repaired" crack grew 8 more inches!!! Past the point of repairable!!! Now I have to get my entire windshield replaced because of their lack of expertise. They also did not work with me or give me any type of discount on the replacement service. I found another company (Auto Glass Fitters) that replaced my windshield for $100 less than Safelite! Much better service and expertise. My family all used Safelite and I NEVER plan on using them again. I do not recommend getting a repair through Safelite unless you want to pay for a new windshield bc of their mistake. I'd give 0 stars if I could. read more
