They threw away my inspection stickers after replacing my windshield. I got my car inspected four hours away from where I am now. Safelite has been very uncooperative in helping me or explaining why I didn't get my stickers back. Do not recommend. read more

The Tech arrived very near the end of the 5 Hr schedule window. A little annoying, but ok. The Tech called before arriving and took great pains to warn me that a chip repair COULD result in a Crack that would require windshield replacement. When he arrived at our home, he went thru the same explanation, again, in great detail, adding that it had happened to his 1st customer that day. Sure enough, 3/4 of the way thru the chip repair, the windshield cracked. He was very apologetic but the replacement cost will be my responsibility. Another Company quoted me $631. Safelite...who cracked the windshield... quoted me $815...same specs on both cause of all the stuff in my windshield and the recalibration effort required. My insurance company, Erie...who has a deal with Safelite and scheduled the repair FOR me...was of not assistance in reducing the $815...I suggested a $250 target since Safelite cracked the windshield. If you're NOT going to take responsibility for damages caused by your service, then DON'T offer the service. read more

They claim to repair cracks up to 6 inches. Mine was a simple crack 3 inches long and the tech said he couldn't repair it. This is a bait-and-switch organization for sure. All they want is to upsell you to a new windshield to bill your insurance for more. read more

I had Safelite repair my cracked windshield at the shop in Whitehall. I paid a local shop to have a new PA inspection sticker affixed to the new windshield. When I noticed that there was a defect in the glass I returned to Safelite so they replaced the windshield which meant I now had to get a new inspection sticker. They told me they would reimburse me for the second one. That was on March 8. I emailed the bill to the manager as the repair technician instructed me to do. When a few weeks went by I called and the receptionist said there was a miscommunication with the billing office. So I emailed the manager again with my request, to no avail. It's now May 27 and I still have not received the reimbursement. Lesson learned: don't go to Safelite. read more

Very pleased with my replacement windshield. Easy to make an appointment either for them to come to you or you to visit them and drop off or wait. I opted to visit their brick and mortar store and wait in their waiting area (Cooking Show on TV with pig snouts as an ingredient chefs had to work in but that's a whole nuther topic). I was in and out in an hour, paid zero dollars with my insurance kicking in for 713.86 worth of parts/labor/taxes. And, all staff was courteous and professional. Points to keep in mind if you elect them coming to you. 1) we are in cloudy/precipitation laden Pittsburgh 2) if you have a garage they will ask if you have at least 4 feet clearance around your vehicle for them to work 3) the appointment window is 3 to 4 hours vs 1 hour appointment at their site. Also note I liked having last appointment of the day -- perhaps best incentive for them to get it done on time! read more

We got into the car and realized the back windshield was shattered. The combination of the age of our car and these extreme cold temps the past couple weeks took its toll. I had no idea how much this was going to cost, but I went online and was able to get an immediate quote from Safelite. Once I got the quote I was able to book an appointment with Safelite right at that moment. I scheduled the appointment for Monday morning (between 8am - 12pm). I got a confirmation of my appointment, they texted the day before and I got a call at about 8:30am on Monday from my technician letting me know I'd be his first appointment and that he'd be arriving within 30 minutes. When the tech got here, he was very professional and helpful. He was able to finish the install in just about 2 hours. He also cleaned out the whole back area of the car to ensure there was no broken glass left over. When he finished, his wrap up was thorough and he let me know all the warranties I had with the new window and let me know to reach out if there was any issues. The cost was very reasonable and the service was super convenient. It's difficult to find fault with a service that will come directly to you. We will definitely use Safelite again should we have another car window issue. read more

Horrible company. Once I used them and they put in wavy glass. I had to go back and they were like we cant see it. It was plain as day. And now I scheduled an appt and 3 days later they cancelled it AND NEVER TOLD me about it. Here I am waiting for them and then I go in to look at the order and it says CANCELLED. I had an appointment with a 4 hour time window. When nobody showed up, I was given an excuse of people calling off that day and was given a second time window. No one bothered to call to let me know during my original time that there was any issue, so they just let me sit around waiting for them for no reason. read more

I am so annoyed by these people. I had to travel from Erie to get my windshield replaced. I drove two hours to get there, and was delayed by snarled traffic. I was verbally accosted by the employee in the front who began to lecture me that I shouldn't have even come so far. They couldn't care less, and didn't even try to get it in. They were pleased to be rude and unhelpful. I would highly recommend not using this business. Got my new windshield a few months ago, Driving to get stuff done yesterday and something smacked my windshield left a hole and it's already starting to vein out, see the thing is with the original windshield that small smack wouldn't have done so much damage, the world's not the same anymore SAD!! , so I call Safelite to see if it's under warranty if not how much will it cost me to fix and naturally can't get ahold of a real person called 2 different numbers no option to speak to a human call #3 I'm already getting aggravated so I go on to that chat and ask to talk to a live human HAD TO ASK TWICE before the chat rep gave me a phone number but the twist to that and I in turn get a smart mouth representative so I'm taking my business elsewhere from now on, dumb a** got it back, When you have a business you should always have the option for somebody to talk to a real human,when somebody calls. A weed whacker used in my yard caused a rock to be thrown at my SUV, which was parked in my garage. It shattered the rear window. These windows are surprisingly thin! I needed to get it replaced asap because I am heading out of town and the crazy weather this year meant I couldn't risk taking my car someplace. I needed them to come to me! Scheduling with Safelite was very easy. First off, they have a very good estimator. That was the first thing I did to see if it was worth involving my insurance company (it wasn't.) They also have a chat option which I used because I wanted to be comfortable about the tint and whether it would match the other windows. The person on chat told me yes it would, and it does in fact match. So I went on to schedule the repair, choosing the mobile option so I wouldn't have to worry about the rain. Good thing too because it rained heavy the entire day. The day of the repair, the driver called me to give me a narrower arrival estimate. Safelite texted a locator link that I could use to see his progress driving to my home. Its pretty cool feature. He arrived when he said he would. He quickly replaced the window and cleaned everything up. The only area of difficulty was getting the broken glass out of the back door and he asked whether I would mind bringing it to their shop on Rt 51 the next day (Saturday) so that he could get the rest of the glass out. I agreed to that, and the next day he took care of it at the shop. He had to take off the rear panel and use compressed air to get the shards into a place where he could vacuum them out. The window looks great and all the glass is cleaned up. I will definitely use Safelite again the next time I have a broken window in one of my vehicles. read more

Needed a windshield for my F150 so I called around. Most places were more expensive, a couple even said 'Yea, we can't beat their prices'... Made my appointment, picked my time, got a call 2 days before as a reminder, got there at 8am on the day of my appointment and they were waiting for me. Waiting area was comfortable, couch, couple chairs, big screen tv with remote next to it and 2 work stations. Their WiFi wasn't very good so I had to use my phone as a hotspot- not ideal but that's more controlled by corporate than local. They finished in about an hour & 10 mins, then came trying to pay for it. Yep- credit card machine works thru WiFi and it took forever for it to connect- again- a corporate issue. Appointment set up was super easy. I was confused on what type of windshield I had and my answers were answered without the "you're a young woman" condescension that I've experienced in the past. In person, I was welcomed and helped accordingly. The wait time was super accurate (90 minutes) and I waited no longer than that! My car has a sort of knocking sound that starts when I turn it on (it was diagnosed last year but I forgot exactly what it was) and my mechanic came out of the garage to tell me about it and explained that other cars have it, too, and gave examples of what other customers have paid. My rearview mirror unexpectedly fell off of my windshield. The dealer said that I would get a better and longer lasting repair at a glass repair business. I went to Safelite AutoGlass without an appointment. They had several customers waiting but freed up a technician to reattach my mirror. The service itself seemed fine. However, we have 2015 outback with eyesight, which was fully functioning the day before the windshield was replaced. After the recalibration, it has not worked correctly. Went back to safelite for another recalibration, still nothing. Safelite said if Subaru confirmed it was their fault they would pay for the fix. However, despite many phone calls between Subaru and safelite, they would not cover the correct recalibration. Thus it has cost us $284 over our $100 deductible. We're not 'happy campers' read more

We got very good service at this location and would definitely recommend them. We had a Crack in our windshield and we opted to go to them because it cost more to have then come to your house...like a lot more so if you're able to drive to one do it. Also, I only gave 4 stars because they have really misleading advertising. Their commercials claim that "most insurance cover them" which should say "most insurances don't cover them". We have full coverage with all the bells and whistles and we still paid about $400 (NOTE this review just popped up as unfinished so I don't remember the exact price as it was about a month ago....I don't know why I stopped in the middle). Remember a statistic can be based on anything and "60% of the time it works every time". But I'd still recommend them....just be prepared to pay them yourselves and not have your insurance do anything. read more

Unfortunately, I've had to use them twice in the past year. The first time was due to vandalism, resulting in my rear windshield needing to be replaced. I had them come to me, and it was easy as could be. They showed up and pretty much did everything and told me it was fine to stay inside. They removed all broken glass and installed the new rear windshield within about an hour. Just recently, I had to replace my front windshield after a small crack began to grow and was too close to the base to simply repair. The process could not have been any easier. I went onto the website on Tuesday afternoon, received a $30 discount for paying on the spot and a $20 discount for bringing it into the store, dropping the price by 25% in all. I was done with the process in no more than 10 minutes with full confirmation. I went in on Thursday morning and was very pleasantly surprised. There was a large lounge area to stay at, while I waited, and the staff was very accommodating and polite. There were complimentary drinks, an area with couches, chairs and a large LCD television to watch. Although I didn't need it, there was also a little play area for young children. I had to get some work done while I was there, so I had access to the wifi and the hour flew by. Provided that I have to go through this again, I'll be using them again. read more
