On the road and had issues with the cover over forward camera. The bracket had come unglued. My daughter mentioned Safelite as possible source for repairs. I found it an a popped in. I explained to the gentleman at the counter the issue. He stopped and said let me pop out and take a. look. He looked explained the issue indicating he would make an effort to reglue the bracket. He took the vehicle and returned in about 15 minutes. He explained the repairs and wished us safe travel. Went online through my insurance company to file a claim for a badly cracked windshield. I guess they are contracted with Safelite and I was able to book a repair online. It was easy-breezy and to top it off, they offer mobile repair service and they came out to me!! Their technician communicated in an accurate and timely manner. He came out as scheduled and within an hour, he replaced my windshield and was off to his next job! Safelite was absolutely wonderful with their customer service, scheduling and repair service. 10/10 Highly recommend. read more

My car windshield was unfortunately hit by a people or rock while on the highway, causing a big spider break that partially blocked the view on the drivers side. Reported it to my State Farm insurance and they made me an appointment at Safelite. I showed up at 9:20 for a 9:30 appointment. I was immediately checked in with no hassle and told it would be about 1 hour. I was kept informed by my technician Marcus via text. I was also able to check out on my phone and pay as I waited. As a matter of fact they had been emailing and texting me appointment confirmation and reminders as soon as my appointment was made. My car was done by 10:25 and I was out the door. I was explained not to go to a car wash for 3 days, lifetime warranty on any seal or leak issues. I also purchased new windshield wipers and those come with a 6 month, no questions asked, replacement guarantee. I have to say that I have been extremely happy with this entire experience and give them a 10/10. Waiting area is need and clean, coffee available, free WiFi. Employees were all friendly and definitely efficient! If I have any issues with my windshield I will update on here but for now it looks and appears great. read more

contacted my insurance company about a rock chip that a crack started forming from. They contacted safelight to make the repair. In the past, chips were always covered so I couldn't see them. A man came out training a new woman. They were here for about 20 minutes and said that they done. The chip was still visible but the tiny crack was fixed. I only called for a repair because I did not want to be negligent and have it progress. A week later I noticed that the same crack has re appeared. I was told that this repair can be made 2xs before having to buy a new windshield. When I called, I was told they can not repair a repaired place. I believe I was scammed just so they could bill me and my insurance company for a higher priced item as in a new windshield. I called my insurance company who told me the same. This seems to be nothing but a SCAM going to the customer. read more

Sadly the store manager of this location has terrible customer service skills and an even worse combative attitude. While I have used other Safelite locations in the past I suggest avoiding the Winston Salem, NC location like the plague. Instead of proactively taking responsibility for a service failure by he and his staff he attempted to dodge any responsibility and showed absolute zero concern for the considerable inconvenience we are still encountering due to their sloppy and incomplete service. The "facts" that the manager kept arrogantly overstating are directly contrary to the information provided by the company on its official website. In addition, I requested a call from the regional manager that I have still not received 7 days later. For the record his initial answer to that request was "we don't have regional managers". When I asked that there is no one that oversees that location he smugly replied we have "DISTRICT managers". He then proceeded to refuse my requests for the District mangers name and would not provide an email or contact number for him. I then requested he let the district manager I would like for him to call me. He responded "I'm pretty busy and have things to do but will do it whenever I get a chance". I guess he's hasn't found time to do it yet since I have still not recieved a call from the district manager. This store manager was factually incorrect in his statements, smug, arrogant and though he was funny being a smart ass to a customer after a service failure by he and his staff. What a shame . The only silver lining for me is I don't live anywhere near this location and thankfully will never have to endure their flippant discourtesy again. read more

This is the 2nd bad experience I've had with this location. I had to have my 2023 Honda Civic windshield replaced for the second time and the service was performed today. This time they used a Honda OEM glass instead of an aftermarket Fuyao brand. My problem is this, There are 2 trim pieces that Honda calls Hinge Covers. They cover the hinges for the hood. They use plastic clips that are 1 time use only. These covers must replaced once removed from the car because they clips break and will not hold the part in place. After I had the windshield replaced last year these covers kept coming loose and I finally resorted to buying new pieces from Honda and having them installed. It was nearly $200 parts and labor. Fast forward to today. I very specifically asked Safelite to REPLACE those pieces during today's service. I even provided them with the Honda part numbers from my repair receipt. They chose to ignore my request and tried to do the job with the old broken parts. The technician who worked on my car tried to force the clips into position and as a result he dented my fender. Of course the manager who needs to approve warranty work at a body shop isn't there today and they asked me to come back again on Monday to get it taken care of. If they had ordered the new parts last week as I specifically asked them to do then all of this likely would have been avoided. Update 2/13/24: Store manager states that he has ordered the necessary parts (hinge covers) from Honda. One is on back order. He is also sending me to Dent Works. Not the body shop I requested and no mention of resolving the money I spent for repairs related to the windshield replacement from January 2023. The Manager of Safelite on Peters Creek Pkwy, in Winston-Salem, is a Horrible Liar and he is Dishonest and Unethical! They replaced Windshields on 2 of my trucks. They damaged the left and right side panels on both trucks! It took me almost 2 months to get them to agree to and order the parts. My insurance company USAA, would not help me to resolve the issue because the replacement was under warranty by Safelite. Safelite kept telling me that "there were no replacement parts in the world!" I was tired of waiting for Safelite to purchase the parts so I found 15 locations that had the new replacement parts! Safelite really took too long to order the parts and the parts eventually sold. I found more locations that had the parts. Safelite ordered the 4 panels and one panel appeared to be used. I found another new panel. Brent, the Manager, at Safelite told me that I would have to pay for the return shipping for that part, even though it was still under warranty with Safelite. He also told me that I would have to purchase the "New Panel" and that, I could return the "Used Panel," back to the company that sold me the "New Panel!" This comment that he suggestion that I do, is very Unethical and Illegal! I WAS REALLY SHOCKED, that he Offered this suggestion to me! I told how dishonest and Unethical I felt he was! He didn't feel there was anything wrong with what he said! Safelite has partnered under contract with USAA Insurance company! I got off the telephone and went to Safelite and Admonished Brent the Manager for his behavior. He told me that "he was not doing anything else!" They gave me the 4 windshield panels and I Left the shop! I did not ever want Safelite to touch my trucks again! This is the short version of how they treated me and others. I had to wait 3 hours that day! The Waiting game is Very Typical For Safelite on Peters Creek, in Winston-Salem, N.C. I spent countless hours doing their job for them, locating the parts. They always made me wait, in person or on the phone or said that they were not available! I am dissatisfied and disappointed with Safelite. I will send the bill to them for the repairs. If you go to the Winston-Salem Dash games, you get that awful, but rememberable, tune stuck in your head when a foul ball is hit "Safelite Repair, Safelite replace". So I had a chip show up in my windshield that I didn't take care of. Sure enough, I'm driving down I40 one day when it was extremely cold out and the damn thing cracked all the way across. Looked like a spider web. I got on the Safelite web site and easily scheduled an appointment for them to come to my house. The payment was all online. They showed up and replaced my windshield with a factory original. Note, I had to pay a little extra for a factory original. The job was done right and I have not have any problems with it. This is my second entire on two different locations. The first location replaced my windshield. But afterwards while driving on the highway on my way back home. A piece of my car molden came off. And was of course damage on the interstate. That particuliar store order a new one and had it delivered closed to my home. Now the Winston Salem store on the date of deliver I spoke with John. He arranged for Davis to come to my job and place the missig part on my car. Only to found there was a couple more pieces missing. So I had to get off from work spoke with Alan at the WS store where Davis finished the job. YEAH!!!!! But no as I was driving I was still hearing a noise. So return to the store the next business day. Where I came acquainted with Brent. So altogether on separate occasions and collectively John with his superb customer service, to Davis with his very compassionate caring spirit. To Alan and Brent eyes who figured out that the reason I was still hearing the noise was because my windshield was centered wrong. So immediately Brent scheduled me asap. At the end of February I needed my windshield replaced. I scheduled safelite for that following Saturday. The tech came, he installed it (aftermarket windshield- had I been given a choice I would've chosen oem) and left. After he left I noticed some issues-my mirror bracket cover was broken and the mirror was not in the correct place at all (he did not inform me), there was glue left on the windshield, the seal wasn't correctly aligned with the car, and although it wasn't much-it want centered exactly. I put in a work order for those things and the following occurred. This is the first day i had to miss work to get something took care of that was safelites cause/ issue. A tech came out and agreed that my cover was broken and needed to be replaced. Told me the seal could've been fixed by myself (even though I paid them to install correctly and for me to not have to fix anything myself). Cleaned the glass. Then told me that it's not gonna be perfect even though I paid the price for perfection. The tech told me I would have to come up there to have the cover looked at. Now we're on the 2nd day I've had to miss with to take my car to the branch. I get there and first I'm told by the manager that my mirror is in the correct place and that I basically didn't know the details of my car that I've owned for 6 years and honestly I feel like he was mansplaining in his that I didn't know my own stuff. Fortunately I had a picture of what it should look like and just like that- he said they would get it fixed. They pull my car back and after about 45 minutes they tell me it's ready. I assumed they fixed my mirror cover appropriately and that my mirror was in the place it was from factory. Everything LOOKED fine. A few weeks ago, my windshield cracked for no apparent reason. Within 24 hours of the crack occurring my mirror cover starts moving around. I look and much to my dismay they didn't fix anything. They used windshield glue to pretend that it was mounted correctly and the heat of the south proved they did not di things right at all. So I make a warranty claim. They send another tech out in another Saturday, that makes it the 3rd time I've had to miss work due to safelite. I knew immediately why he was a warranty tech when he said very little to me, walked right over to my car and immediately said that my windshield wouldn't be covered under warranty because he's "been doing this for 17 years" and knows what he's doing in a very unpleasant tone. He tells me that if I wanted to talk to a manager that i could. I term him in not going to talk to a manager because it was the manager who deceived me to begin with in regards to fixing my car when I took it back up there. This same tech told me that the aftermarket windshields are cheap and break easily. He checked out my mirror cover and said that yes, it was broken and that there's nothing he could do to fix it since they glued it already. The tech said that the manager should've replaced it instead of bsn (his literal words). He said that he would havethem order me another one and I didn't hear anything else for weeks. I contacted safelite customer care who transferred me to the shop. Whomever I spoke to said that i would have to bring my car up there, yet again, because while he was the one that orders the parts- he had to get approval. I told him that there was no way in going to miss a 4th day of work all because safelite didn't do the job correctly to begin with. Hec wouldn't budge after thing back and forth for 5 minutes. He even said they had no documentation of my issues, as if that's my fault and not theirs. I do, however, have documentation in email that states the issues. I hang up and call back and speak to another rep who tells me she's requested that the DM contact me that day. I got no phone calls from safelite. Take your hard earned money elsewhere cuz safelite does not know how to treat customers or their cars. read more

Just had my windshield replaced and it was really easy. I found safelite online and was able to choose what I needed, setup an appointment and pay for it online. I dropped the car off and came and picked it up a little bit later. They have a pretty good communication system and I was constantly updated via text. The only thing I wish was better was they the hands free microphone in the car was not put back into the same place. read more

I called for an appointment. I was told insurance would cover repairs and a unit from Winston would be at my home between 8AM and noon. It turns out insurance did NOT cover my repairs, and no one came by noon. I called and was told that their phones could not dial my cell number, so no one came. What?!? They had my address, my number, and I ALREADY PAID! And what kind of business can't dial a long distance number??? I was then told that Steven would be here by 1:00 or 1:30. Only to get an email that Gregory would be here before 2:00. Windshield repair of a pea sized chip was half the price of a whole new windshield... and you pay in advance, and no one shows up. . Did not know this place was here until picking up a rental at Hertz next door Friday. It was a nice surprise especially after buying a used car and having a cracked windshield 2 days later. Ugh. The car is for my daughter who happened to be coming home for the weekend from college. The service at the window was very polite and professional. They confirmed they could have the windshield the next day (Saturday) and have it installed. They confirmed my insurance when making the appt so when I arrived the next day at the scheduled time the drop off was a breeze. The waiting room was clean, offered free WiFi and snacks. They guarantee the windshield for life of the car while I own it for leaks and other issues other than other more rocks pelting it. They even have a little roller desk for you to use in the lobby to support a laptop. I truly hope I do not need to return but for anyone needing a windshield I highly recommend this place. read more

My son had a small crack in his windshield when we purchased his Camry. All of a sudden, the crack spread across the whole windshield. He had tints put on the windows after a couple of months. My GF has a 2004 Nissan Xterra XE 4x4 she was driving down 85 one day and a good size rock flipped up and cracked her windshield good from a 18wheeler. Long story short Safelite does great advertising on television and she lives in WS and it was right down the road from her gym. So I had an appointment set for early Saturday morning 8am got there at 7:45 on the dot took me right away took about an hour to an hour and a half. Well they did an outstanding job. Vehicle was thoroughly vacuumed out when all done and finished. Driving back didn't even look like there was a windshield in it. It was that clear. And the price wasn't bad. Instead of messing with insurance she paid out of pocket of only $230 bucks. I thought that was very fair. Great customer service. Very Friendly staff. Had brewed a fresh cup of coffee to when I walked in that morning as it was chilly that morning. Very pleased with the professional service they did. I took my 2018 Honda CRV-EX to Safelite on Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, NC at the suggestion of my auto insurance company, Geico. This was OK with me since past instances with Safelite were positive ones. This experience was both positive and negative. Safelite scheduled me for a Saturday at my request so I could drop the car off to have the windshield replaced (this would take between 2 and 2 1/2 hours) with a follow-up appointment to have, what I will call, the "Driver Assist features" recalibrated. This is a camera system that handles lane departure warning, Mitigation Braking System warning and other safety features. This is where the problems began. Saturday's installation went well and they actually finished in a little less time than scheduled. Come Monday, the day for the Driver Assist features recalibration. On this day I had to wait for the work to be completed since I had no way to drop the car off. The recalibration took slightly longer than planned. On my way home I decided to test out as many of the Driver Assist features as I could. It was day light so I could not test the auto bright lights option. I found the lane departure feature worked as expected. When I tested the Mitigation Braking System, I found I could drive up to within inches of the vehicle ahead of me and I did not receive a warning (for the record, I did this on three occasions and all three were with tractor trailers since if a collision did occur, only my vehicle would sustain any major damage and the truck driver would most likely not be injured. I would never endanger attempt this with passenger vehicles or buses.) Each time, NO WARNING and NO AUTOMATIC BRAKING. I called the Safelite facility and they ask me to bring the vehicle in at 3 o'clock (at the time I was less than 5 miles from they're facility but they could not work me in) and they would recalibrate the Mitigation Braking System. I was told they did not realize all the Driver Assist features had to be recalibrated. I drove the more than 20 miles from my home back to Safelite for the 3 PM appointment. When I arrived, the manager came out and told me that after I had called earlier, they called Honda about the Mitigation Braking System and other features and learned their (Safelite's) equipment was not capable of recalibrating some of theses features and I would have to take my vehicle to Honda for those recalibrations. I asked why he didn't call me and save me an almost 50 mile round trip. The manager said he wanted to explain and apologize in person, not over the phone. I called Geico and explained the situation. The Geico customer service rep was very helpful explaining she would make an appointment (which turned out to be the next morning at 8:30) with Honda to complete the recalibration but I would have to pay Honda and submit a copy of my receipt for reimbursement which would take approximately 10 days from when it was received. At my suggestion, she did make notes in their system that Safelite cannot recalibrate all of the Driver Assist features on any 2018 Honda. So, if you own a Honda with "Driver Assist features", make sure your Safelite facility can recalibrate all of them or make arrangements to have Safelite take your vehicle to Honda for recalibration as part of the service Safelite is providing. read more

About two weeks ago I was driving along just coming from work. A rock from a truck in front thew a rock from its tire and hit my window. It wasn't big just about adobe size starburst. I call my insurance company they tell me it's covered under comprehensive insurance I won't have to come out of pocket. My insurance tells me I can get it fixed with Safelite or a place of my choosing. I chose Safelite because it was more convenient for me. Safelite comes out to repair the small starburst. The trained technician cracks the window and now I have to pay a $500. Deductible. The trained professional never explained that could happen and he forged my name on the electronic device saying I give him authorization to do the repair. The trained technician happens to be a patient at the doctors office I work in and in the middle of him repairing the starburst he goes to settle a bill he owed. When I called the trained technician supervisor to let him know this the supervisor stated the technician has down time, as if it's ok for the trained technician to handle personal business while he's doing a repair. Don't use Safelite you will be paying them to damage your property. Yes the windshield was damage but it could have been repaired now it has to be replaced Big difference. A $500. Got small Chip in glass at 10:30am on Wednesday. Filed insurance claim via Geico 10 minutes after chip occurred next day they came out and tried to fixed it by 10:30am. Had wife sign waiver if they mess up the glass they would not be held responsible. They made a small chip with a 1/4 inch run into a foot long crack on my glass and offered to fix it for $297. Called local office for an explanation they said it would be $291. Terribly unsatisfied will never do business again. Will take chipped windshields to a true professional. read more

These guys are so nice and helpful. They handled an insurance claim for me. There were a couple of problems with the original glass not fitting. The guys in the shop wanted to make sure that my window was working correctly. They made some adjustments at the shop and came back out to my house to install a different sized glass to fix the problem. I would never use this company. Safelite was at the office parking lot where I work & I needed to leave. My car was blocked in by a Safelite van and I could not leave. The Safelite repair man Greg would not move his van after I asked him to move. I asked him three times to move. I had parked my car far away from the bldg I work in because someone had hit the car the day before. When I told him that he even said to me :"that is not my fault you do not know how to drive lady". The car was PARKED when it was hit. He was so rude. I will NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND SAFELITE to anyone. Go to Pfaffs Glass for that type of repair. read more

I had my windshield repaired in December of 2016. In less than three weeks it cracked again worse than it had originally. I called this store to have them come back out. After their "test" they informed me that the windshield had been hit again and there was nothing they could do. Fast forward to Oct of 2017 I finally had saved up enough money to have the glass repaired again. I am a single parent and extra money comes hard. I took my car back to this store to be told that the panels on the sides of the windshield were "worn" and may break during a replacement. The store asked me to sign off that they were not responsible if that were to happen. I chose to leave and take my car to the dealership where I had purchased it. The dealership informed me that they use a gentleman to repair their glass who has his own business and had twenty plus years experience. A couple days later this gentleman came out to my home and proceeded to show me how the two panels were not "worn" but had been damaged extensively during the first repair back in December. He showed me how the clips were broken that hold the panels in place. This is something that doesn't happen just from wear and tear. He then showed me how the reason the glass cracked again in less than three weeks was because of the terrible installation job and not from it being hit again. I Immediately called the manager of the Peter's Creek store to try to find a solution to this problem. The manager was unwilling to do ANYTHING or accept any responsibility at all.
