So I was in the market for a new stereo as my original Volkswagen stereo headunit died (thanks Volkswagen). The employees didn't even try to upsell me (which is a huge bonus for me, I dislike upselling). They listened to what I wanted and what I needed and helped me find something I'd agree with. My appointment was at nine yesterday. Upon arrival I was told to allow them 45 minutes to an hour to tint my front side windows and put a strip across the windshield. They also don't allow you to wait inside the business(they should tell you this when you schedule an appointment). With that being said they finished my truck two hours later at 11 o'clock. However, they did do an excellent job installing the tint. Their prices are very fair. The guy cleaned up pretty nicely after himself in my truck as well. As far as quality of the work they perform this place is excellent. I've had several vehicles tinted here and never had a problem with any of the tint. Hopefully this truck follows suit. read more

unprofessional business, unprofessional employees specifically the person who installed my brothers kickers. I and my brother arrived to this facility at 11:20am on 08/03/23 we did not leave the facility until 4:30pm we were told it'd be a 2 hour job all together. the person who installed his kickers manhandled them in some way and failed to tell my brother that he had just damaged his speakers that my brother had just purchased at 10:50am the very same day. there are scuffs, dents, and scratches ALL around the speaker. Not just on one speaker but on BOTH speakers. there is also a HUGE puncture hole in the left speaker. the only person that touched the speakers was the person that installed them. my brother purchased the speakers, drove straight to Sound Solutions, and let the workers take it from there. my brother never touched the speakers until we arrived home at 5:00pm the same day. which is when we both inspected the speakers ourselves and noticed the damages. we were not made aware of these damages before leaving the facility. VERY unprofessional and my brother will be taking action tomorrow. read more

I got a brand new car, came here to get my windows tinted. I saw they had good reviews and Richard petty came here so I though they would do a good job on tinting my windows. I dropped my car off to them for two hours witch is good. But when I received my car it was sloppy and they didn't take the time to wipe off the out side of my car, from where the Solution they used to tint had Streak marks all down my doors and the inside of my car is all leather and they didn't have the Courtesy to clean the solution off my doors on the inside of my car. It was done sloppy. I am not happy this happened in my brand new car I got not even a 2 weeks ago. I tried wiping it down I tried everything and you can still see the mess they made on the inside of my car. I won't be going back and won't refer anyone for the way my car was treated. read more

I was given remote start for my car as a Christmas gift from my fiancé. He had visited a competitor of Sound Solutions and purchased a voucher for the labor and parts needed. After calling to make an appointment, it was discovered that they did in fact NOT have what was needed to do the job. I contacted Sound Solutions that same day and was not disappointed. In face, I was very impressed with the customer service, professionalism and honesty that I encountered. They told me to bring in the invoice voucher from the other company and they would do their best to match the price. I did so 3 days later and not only did they match the price, the BEAT it! This was a Sunday and my appointment was set up for Thursday. Since my car was going to be there anyway, I decided to go ahead and have tint installed on my windows. Leroy, Josh and everyone else I dealt with was amazing!! They did a fantastic job on everything! After walking me to my car and showing me how to work the remote start and inspecting the tint I returned to the sales counter to pay. At this time, Leroy informed me that he had actually dropped the price of my remote start by another $15 and my tint by $20 because of what I had been through to get these things done. Terrible Experience!! Took my BMW here on high recommendation from family but feel like my car has been butchered. I live 1.5 hrs away and had to take my car back twice! After that I was still missing a part they were told to install and shown where to install. I called and they are mailing it to me so I can install it! I wandered into the store asking what they recommended to replace a car radio unit that was eating my cds and did not do justice to my Polk triaxials. Randy greeted me and recommended a new unit that had at least double the power of my old unit, plus some bluetooth capability I had not yet experienced. He also offered a sizable discount. After thinking about it, I returned and the unit was installed in a few minutes. Randy took time to show me the basics of how to work the unit, and set the equalizer to flat. My sound is much cleaner, and I am enjoying talking to people hands-free on the phone. These folks are capable and fairly priced. They take customer satisfaction seriously. Bought parts last weekend, went in for a wiring harness, was told by one of the one the guys working, that I would only have side to side or front to back balance unless I also bought line out converters, so of course they do this everyday, so I took their advice! Wrong, hooked it up following their instructions and almost blew my speakers(also told me I would probably need to replace them as well,close but no). End up using a $9 harness from Walmart, worked great! Bypass the amp they said I needed to run through, now they won't take the parts back, except for store credit! Was not informed of this or wouldn't have bought a thing from there. Anyone who doesn't stay behind what they sell isn't much in my book, buyer beware when dealing with this mom & pop shop, that has three stores(always thought mom & pop where actually in the shop and treated customers like family, not here!) Do yourself a favor,go on YouTube, buy your parts at Walmart and do it yourself! You know what have and the satisfaction of doing it yourself! I got less than $100 in a DVD,CD,Bluetooth and backup camera, not counting $53 I wasted there! Old saying is screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice, shame on me! When they redo it after telling them what is wrong and they say they will go over it and you know they didn't because you have to show them the spots, does not need to be in business! They are extremely slow! It took them 4 hours to tink my windows when they told me 2. They don't tell you that they don't tint the top strip of the car windshield until the job is done. Then they say it's an additional $30 for it but it was never mentioned that it wasn't included! read more

I went to sound solutions to get my XM Radio installed. They installed it on a Friday and then my radio stopped working the next day. I took it back to the company because my radio had not ever stopped working like that. They told me that the Amp went out and that my car was old. I told them that it was no way it could have just gone out like that. Then they told me that sometimes after they put the XM radios in the car, the AMP can go out. Then they tried to sell me a radio for $800. I wanted them to fix the issue and they had NO interested in fixing my radio and stopped returning my calls. This was SO unprofessional and I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone who needs a radio/sound or xm radio installed. read more

Had a double-din Kenwood (with Apple CarPlay) and backup camera installed on a Honda Ridgeline back in September. Dropped it off in the morning and asked for a call when it was done. I called late afternoon for an update and was told it had been ready for a while. Get there to pick it up around 5:00 and go to drive home, and cannot get Apple CarPlay to work - spent hundreds of extra dollars for a double-unit touchscreen unit just for Apple CarPlay, and it didn't work. They never even tested it before releasing vehicle to me. First they said it was my phone. Then they said it was my USB cable. Then they said the radio needed a software update. Finally after I called BS on all of that they realized they used a bum cable for the install and we had to pull around back into the shop for them to take it all back apart and fix it. So after waiting for about an hour they finally fixed it, but had to use a different plug adapter on my truck. That adapter also included a video input, so I figured if I had the plug, it might as well be functional, so I asked them to hook up that aspect as well. Well, they didn't have that cable in stock, but they said they would order it and it would probably be in within a week and they would call me. They never called. I called them a couple of weeks later, blamed it on the supplier, manufacturer, yadda, yadda, said they would look into it and call me back with an update regardless and let me know when they thought it would be in. That was September, it is now November and they have not called me back. Hence this review - if you say you are going to call someone back, call them back. Also, the backup camera was not lined up properly and it pointed about 30 degrees offline. It was initially installed with sticky tape and fell off within a couple of days and I have had to fix with zip ties (it was offline and not centered prior to falling off). To summarize my experience, these guys do a great job with actually physically installing the products, at least from a stereo/speaker standpoint. Where they could be better is actually taking the time to make sure the installed items work properly and educate the customer on how they work. It seems they rushed through the setup process just to get to the next vehicle without making sure everything is setup/working correctly. It also seems they are not interested in following up with customers when they say they will. I feel like they took my $1,500 and moved on to the next customer before making sure I was 100% satisfied. Will look elsewhere next time I need a stereo installed. read more

I called this place to ask about getting my remote car starter fixed, and after a brief conversation about the issue, the guy on the phone tells me to come on in, no appointment is necessary. Show up the next day, and the guy at the counter turns me away and tells me to visit the manufacturer's website without even asking me what the problem was. After telling him that I spoke with someone, and that they told me to come in, he apologizes for my unnecessary trip. Unfortunately, his apology does not make up for the time missed at work and money spent in gas. Then mid-conversation, answers the phone, basically dismissing me and disregarding that we were not finished with the conversation. So I leave, go back to work, and go to the manufacturer's website, and their only recommendation for the error I'm receiving is to take it to an authorized dealer. This could have been determined in a matter of five minutes if the employee behind the counter wouldn't have been so dismissive. We will NEVER return to this store again or to the store in Winston Salem. The manager in the Greensboro store on Stanley was actually very nice and understanding but when we had our windows tinted in Winston store they had trash behind it. The Greensboro store was kind enough to replace it. We were told to bring our car back on Sunday 12/14/2014 at 12 and we were actually there at 11:30 and they took our key and said it would be up to 2 hours for replace the tint. We did NOT leave the store untill 6pm that NIGHT. It was ridiculous to wait that long. They said they wanted it to be perfect and it is so far from being perfect. There is trash behind the tint and there is old tint stuck behind the new tint, our trunk was soaked with water and is starting to smell, our radio speaker is rattling. Please keep in mind this is A BRAND NEW CAR. We will NEVER take our car back to that place ever again. I do NOT suggest taking your car there for ANYTHING. read more
