But with my new job in a clinic, I couldn't make it to their bi-annual BLS class so I had to look for external instructors. Annette was impressive. She knew a lot more than I expected her to and she imparted a lot of extra information, tips, for when you need to perform CPR, BLS, or if an adult/child is choking, that only a paramedic, nurse, or doctor with experience would know. I never got that specialized information from the people who worked for the hospitals teaching CPR/BLS. She is professional and organizes her class very well, so you get all the information from AHA, and you do all the different simulations, within the shortest period of time. She responded very quickly to my emails and she helped me save money as well. I highly recommend her.

My group was mainly with the instructor Adrienne, and Adrienne was very helpful, knowledgeable, and very nice. Now that I'm done with the course, I feel prepared for any situation that will require advanced cardiac life support. They were also very quick with getting me the e-card for ACLS; they said that it would take up to three business days to receive, but I received the email three hours after completing the class. I have never written a Yelp review before, but I had to give these people a good review because they were excellent and I actually enjoyed what I learned because they made it fun and interesting, and I could tell that they really knew their material well and have used it in their work as paramedics. I took my BLS from PCC, but I would recommend Cascade over PCC hands down.

While I was happy my immediate phone call to 911 got the paramedics there pretty quickly, I felt helpless and wish there was more we could have done. (there was - we just weren't 100% sure as to what) Which is what lead us to BTS. We took the Basic Plus CPR, AED, & First Aid for Adults class on Sunday. It was a thorough class and answered so many questions we had. I feel much better equipped mentally and emotionally to be able to handle a situation if it arises again. Shawn's personal stories of her experience were really helpful anecdotes to remembering things. She's very knowledgeable and professional. I definitely would recommend this class. It's worth the time & money.

I was denied the opportunity to donate blood because my pulse was high. I was having anxiety about…read morethe experience. After the first person took my pulse I was told they would take it again in 5-10mins. It felt like 3 minutes. Had they waited a bit longer, my pulse would have gone down because the anxiety was lessening. I can feel it physically when my anxiety is high and I can feel it going away. With the need for donors, I would think they would have waited to check because they could have gotten a donation from me. The staff were nice but I don't think they really cared for me to donate blood. I rescheduled the appointment but not sure I will ever donate blood again as this experience was off putting. With rising prices, I not only wasted time, but gas too.

As…read morefor scheduling a blood draw or platelet donation, your best option is to register online and schedule. But once you do, expect to start receiving the constant texts and calls from unknown numbers lol. After all these years, Red Cross still has not updated their systems. I think experienced donors know how I feel. But onto the subject of this place: ~ Its a fairly big facility with an open quad area. Blood donations in the front. Blood platelets and plasma in the back, in an enclosed glass section. ~ What's also great about this place is the staff. I've always ran into the elderly ladies at check-in that are smiling and helpful. The technicians I've ran into have ranged from normal yet talkative, to near-zombie-like and anti- social. ~ The preparation area and equipment used for platelet/plasma donation is quite clean. I've seen technicians wipe things down, and bring in new sealed kits. Its definitely different when donating platelets. Overall, this location does an excellent job in getting donors set up and checked-in properly. The bed, or gurney, used are clean as is the equipment. I'll likely return six months from now for another donation. But I bet I'll receive over 20-30 calls/text from RC before then.
