I've been a medical professional for 15 years and this is by far the best BLS training I've had thus far!

Being a nursing student, it is required to be CPR certified. Since having no experience with CPR whatsoever, I admittedly, was nervous when I had signed up for this class. I live in the San Jose area, and carpooled here with my friend because it was the best for both our schedules and the most convenient. When applying to take a class, it was very much appreciated how responsive they are and how they provide clear links, information, and pricing, while other classes I had *attempted to take* before this, had provided nothing but misleading information on their addresses (one had told me it was in San Jose, only for me to find out from the instructor directly it was in San Luis Obispo? Talk about a 3 hour drive!). Safety Training Seminars provided me a clear invitation, confirmation, and even assured me paying in person was the best option. What I liked about them was there is no money lost in case you can not make it, and they were very flexible in that too! I've checked many other sites requiring I pay for the class before it is taken , even stating on those sites the class can be cancelled without a days notice?! That type of uncertainty really made me worry about how any other sites would be. Thankfully, I found this place, and I couldn't have envisioned a better experience. I've heard horror stories about mean and nasty instructors at other sites and classes, but Tomas was the best here at Dublin! Once we entered the door, he greeted us and signed us both in and offered us coffee/tea, water, granola bars, and snacks! Even for checking in, we got keychain CPR masks. This place gave me an excellent vibe upon stepping through the door but the direction, consideration, and understanding Tomas provided us during our first class (while the rest were there for renewal) made me gain confidence in my skills, and made me feel less shy about asking questions, I would've otherwise left without knowing. They provide mannequins for every two students, and an infant mannequin for each student. We all were able to practice with simulator equipment, and because the class wasn't too large in size, Tomas walked around providing strong and constructive criticism, and encouragement for how well we did! I was initially nervous practicing, but I ENCOURAGE ANYONE taking this class to go in and really don't be shy about it, it's better to know you're doing it wrong on a mannequin, than a moment it becomes CRUCIAL! I had learned how to be more confident in myself, and even after the test was completed, I had a few questions to ask- little did I know, had I not second guessed two of my answers I would've gotten a perfect score. Tomas was very pleasant to work with and I left feeling confident in my training, and with knowledge that stuck with me, as opposed to leaving confused. I had brought in my friends copy of the BLS book and only had to pay $60 for the class, otherwise, bring $80 for the class PLUS book. The hours for this class were comfortable, and not exhausting. I personally enjoyed how we had more hands on instructions during each segment of the video so we could provide our knowledge and demonstrate it, rather than waiting til the end where it's far from the front of our mind. This was by far one of the best teachings I've had, and I plan on returning in two years when in need for renewal. The fact I came into this class feeling scared out of my mind, and left feeling pride earning my certification really shows the educators here do want you to succeed and not feel ashamed or embarrassed for making a mistake. I have recommended this to two other friends who need their CPR certification already, hopefully they drop in very soon. :) read more

Took ACLS renewal and our instructor Jennie stressed key information that were specific to the exam and that helped me out a lot. Noticed how some of the questions were kind of tricky if I had not taken note. She was great, simplified the renewal and was straight to the point. ACLS + BLS + book = $430. WAY WORTH IT! money is tough everywhere but think of it as missing one (1) day of work instead of two (2). The building is tucked away...But the Habit is across the street. McDonald's is 2min away. Starbucks is 5min away. The instructor was Robert. He knows his stuff. Paramedic for 10 years and some change. WE NEED more instructors like Robert in the medical field. His approach is simple, dry humor with laughs, and teaches effectively. He integrates the mandatory videos + book + lecture + practical application in a unique way that is conducive to learning. I'll go back and take his class for PALS and for the recerts. Make sure to ask him for trivial facts for the day! Specifically - ask how the medical term "stroke" derived at its name. ** If you are pressed for time, just pay for the book $60. Very well taught class. I've had BLS before, but the instructor here was far more thorough but also quick - I find my recert was both easy and memorable. Class overall takes about 2.5 hrs, and the building's a little hidden away, but still very easy to find. If you work near Dublin (or anywhere in the East Bay), I would highly recommend getting your BLS recert done here. Cheers! read more

I had to get my BLS for my nursing program and this class was super easy to sign up for. People of all ages and professions were in the room. George was an excellent instructor and made sure everyone was very comfortable. The only problem was the video not working at times, but George still knew what to do and how to work around tech difficulties. I took the health provider BLS as a requirement for nursing. I'm new to state and googled places and this was right near where I live. I've taken a lot of BLS classes and this one was great. I have been using Safety Training Seminars for my BLS recertification for many years. I love the new format with online class and in-person hands-on testing. It allows you to learn the information you need, pass the written test then concentrate on the hands-on portion with the teacher. The teachers are always well-informed and take you through all the needed skills and give you enough practice to feel comfortable that you will know what to do and that you are performing it correctly. I wasn't sure how they would accommodate the new covid rules but the classroom was set up to ensure social distancing, we wore masks and were asked to wash our hands before class and there was plenty of disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer at each desk. I like the Basic Life Support class I attended yesterday. Our instructor Nina is very informative and fun. The video lecture is clear and concise. It kinda repeats the importance of each aspect that we all should know. Some of the mannequins may need to be changed though as there is no air movement noted on the one I used. The exam is pretty much easy if u listened to the lecture. The whole course lasted from 9-11 ish. read more

This is very important for me to pass the word on I have to say out of all cpr classes I been to, this was the best for me and will definitely return for my next if I'm still living in the area of course. Aside from the video Nina was very informative, straight to the needed to know points, but no cutting corners. I realized yes although other courses are good and are there to provide what you need, I felt they were a little more on the "easy A" side. I just had to renew my CPR for my sterile processing and I was so happy I went to this one, local for me in Dublin! Connor was the instructor and he made the hours go by quickly. This is my second time coming to this location. The first time I came here, my instructor was late and it was OBVIOUS he did not want to be there. I get it, it's Saturday and you'd rather be in bed, sleeping but you chose to work... Anyways, it kind of just felt like I got through the class and that was it. I decided to give it another shot because I got an e-mail reminder. My work place does offer free BLS classes, but I prefer to go here to meet new people. My teacher Rasheed English was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He has 14 years of EMT experience so he shared a lot of great stories with our class. He gave us realistic scenarios. Truthfully, the hardest part about these classes is how to stay awake. I was also coming from night shift so I was expecting that I had to pry my eyes open during class time. Rasheed's sense of humor and personality just lightend everyones mood. I highly recommend Rasheed! My 5 stars goes to him. read more

I just took a 2-day Wilderness First Aid class. This was my third time taking a WFA class, each with a different provider, and this was by far the best class. The instructor, Jeff Johnson, was incredibly patient, supportive and knowledgeable. Perhaps most important, he was very passionate about teaching advanced first aid, and it made the students comfortable and able to absorb as much information as possible. Other than taking a Wilderness First Responder course (generally 80 hours, or a huge upgrade over a 2-day course), this is the best introduction to providing first aid when help is not close at hand. Conner Bonneau is truly an exceptional teacher. This isn't my first time taking a CPR class, but this is certainly my favorite class of them all. He's confident, entertaining and engaging! His warm and friendly disposition makes this class inviting from the start. Shannon was funny at times telling her experiences such as when she was a choking victim. She also is an ex-EMT. So kudos to that. Although the class was taught by a video tape, and of course you get hands-on experience with some rubber dummies; I feel that you can do this all online or even watching this stuff on YouTube. The National Safety Council goes into more deeper information on CPR and AED. All and all, the class was good and short. Shannon gave us things to know versus it's nice to know. Thank-you JP for a great CPR class! I haven't taken this class in years and although some procedures have changed, JP made sure myself and the class knew the steps with precision and accuracy. I'm not a fan of classes being taught by a video tape, but I did like that the tape showed different CPR scenarios and that JP went out of his way to give us some examples from his own experiences. The class time was utilized well and I left feeling very confident in my CPR skills. I took this class in compliance with my nursing school regulations. I use to live in Dublin and although I don't live there now, I was more than happy to drive 20 minutes to this location :) and I'll come here again when I need to renew. read more
