Stopped by to purchase a few items. Place was lively, clean looking, but not much space to manuevure my cart. The deli was superb, just like east coast deli's in nyc and Philadelphia. My Dr recently moved from Las Vegas to Bullhead City. Naturally, I followed her because she's amazing. She sent 2 prescriptions to the Safeway pharmacy. Then I met Jason. He works the register at the pharmacy and is an egotistical a$$hole who seems to think he is in charge of the place. Last month, he gave me such a hard time for needing pain medication. Like I was less than human. He was mean and degrading to me. At first, he was telling me to have my prescription sent to Vegas. Then he told me to go home and come back the next day. Even though he knew I lived in Vegas. He kept on and on about how they weren't going to fill it. And I should just leave. Finally, the Pharmacist ( who is an amazing human being ) stepped in and said he would take care of it. So today I went to see my Dr again in Bullhead City. She once again sent over my prescriptions to the Safeway pharmacy. I got a text msg they had been sent. So I waited about an hour before I called to make sure they got them, I also checked the app. The app showed that both prescriptions were there. I called and spoke with Jason. After getting my b-day and name, he said, " Jesus christ, I just got this in." I asked how many prescriptions there were. He said 1 for an antibiotic. I asked him if there was 1 for pain meds. He said no. That didn't make sense, but just to be sure, I called the Dr office. The receptionist said they had fax confirmation that Safeway had received the prescriptions. I went in the store. As soon as I gave Jason my name and b-day, he got agitated. He said there was no prescription for pain meds. I told him the Dr office has fax confirmation that they got it. He then changed it to they can't fill it, that I need to come back on Wednesday to speak with the manager. I asked why can't they fill it since they did last month. He said that was a " courtesy fill," and they wouldn't be able to fill any others. I asked him why I wasn't I told that last month. To which he said " someone should have told you." I pointed out that JASON should have told me since he was the person I dealt with. He then went on to explain if they were going to fill these prescriptions, they needed to fill ALL my prescriptions. I was more than a little confused since they had all my prescriptions. He told me I needed to have 4 or 5 more prescriptions before they could fill any. I was dumbfounded. I don't take anything else. Jason kept pushing about other prescriptions and needing the managers approval. I stated, " You're penalizing me because I don't take other meds." Finally, the Pharmacist stepped in, took over the computer, and asked a couple of questions. Do you take blood pressure meds? No. Do you have high cholesterol? No. Are you diabetic, no. I told him I can't believe I'm being punished for being healthy!! The Pharmacist told me he would have it ready at 3. Oh boy, was Jason mad! When I came back to pick up my meds, he was slamming the bottles on the counter. The only thing he said to me was, " We won't be filling anymore prescriptions for you." JASON made me feel like a horrible person. He implied I was lying about having other prescriptions. He acted like I was a drug addict and scum. Jason is a horrible bully. He really shouldn't have a customer facing job. No matter the situation you don't start an encounter with aggression and hostility. Bullying 56 yr old women isn't a great look. read more

I ordered a cake for my friend's birthday. I asked for an Italian creme cake with raspberry filling from one of the women that said she baked the cakes. I asked for happy birthday and my friend's name. I got a cake that just said happy birthday. Whip creme filling. I'm so angry about it. I pulled out the cake order and low and behold. No filling checked on the order. I spent time with the employee going over what I wanted. Always check out what they write down on your yellow copy. It was a simple order and the employee acted like she took down the correct filling. I am old and I should have known better than to think the employee could write down my simple order. Terrible service and I will never order a cake from here again. A big waste of my time and my money. read more

The store gets really busy so be careful parking seems like the busiest section of road in town. The store is always clean and well stocked they take pride in the produce section it always looks good. I do not get it some of the employees are nice and helpful but majority of them are rude & crude. You got some good deals on some items each week but majority of the items are more expensive than Walmart or Smith. Many times I check my receipt before I live and many time the prices does not match what is posted on the shelve. Many of their sale items such as buy 1 get one free, all they do is mark up that item so it is the same price for the two and yet you are buying two. Scam! They also have very small name tags so it is impossible to get their names, not that it matters since I think no one really cares. read more

The skinny white lady working in the deli section on June 25, 2023 refused to sell our family fried chicken. She was being really nasty about it telling us that we can only purchase a certain amount and that they have a limit on how many pieces can be purchased per customer when her co worker possibly her supervisor had already told her that it was ok for us to purchase the amount we asked for which was only a few over her (LIMIT). She got nasty and refused to serve us because I noticed a better deal and I wanted to change my order but all of this took place before she even got started preparing our order. I went in to buy a cake for my daughter to surprise her with something small and had to wait half an hour to be attended there was no one taking orders. I had asked politely about the cake flavor and lady was being very rude about it and gave me the wrong cake. So sad my daughter couldn't get the birthday she liked because of this problem. I went in to make a purchase, it shows a price tag as with all things, so I picked up the single product and waited in a BIG line on thanksgiving day. I get to self checkout, scan the product, and it shows as $3 more expensive. I ask the employee in self checkout what I should do and he calls over this young female employee to price check it. It was obvious she didn't care about doing her job as she complained aloud when walking away stating "ugh if I can even find it" with the body language to match the difficult challenge she perceived to have ahead. Being a 12 pack of Bud Light, it's really not difficult to find so I suspected right away she was going to give little to no effort after she displayed the grief of having to do something she is actually paid to do. Of course she returns to tell the wrong price to the employee. I then have to leave the check out and go back to snap a picture of the obvious price tag that shows the obvious advertised price just to wait in a big line all over again just to buy one thing for one advertised price. It was accepted afterwards as the price tag was pretty clear, and while the guy was nice I really can't believe anyone would get hired that hates to work so much that even using their eyes/attention span is "ugh" and they can't even do that correctly. read more

Recently moved here. Went to Safeway to load up on groceries. Had trouble getting the digital deals to work ony phone. Went to customer service they showed me how to do it right. Downloaded 4 digital deals about $8.50 in savings. Pretty crowded. Went to checkout 2 checkers and self checkout were open. I was 3rd in line. After about 5 min checker next to us yells out I'm open. As I go to get in her line another new customer jumps ahead of me. Not courteous but then again checker said I'm open instead of next person. As the new checker tries to ring up my order she says her computers down. Takes about 10 min to get it corrected. In the end after checkout I was not given the digital deals. Went to customer service showed my Safeway app they acknowledged that they were on my phone but for some odd reason didn't work. She said I probably put wrong phone number in but I showed her I got discounts on everything else for being a Safeway customer. Said next time have checker scan my customer app. Gave me my $8.50. no I'm sorry. Or any kind of apologies not very friendly. Checkout took over 25 minutes read more

I love this location! I live in Henderson, NV but try and get here every time I visit Laughlin. I grew up on Safeway stores and we don't have them here anymore (Vons is basically the same thing, however.) This location is pretty clean and very well kept. The shopping experience is always great. I always have to pick up Safeway Select items just to bring the home and smile at them when I eat them. lol! read more

So, I have been shopping at this Safeway in Bullhead City on and off for 2 1/2 years. It is crowded a lot of the time, the parking lot is always crowded, and there are a LOT of river guys in BIG trucks in a hurry...so the clientele is the problem, NOT the store or the employees in my humble opinion. On 3 occasions now an employee has stopped the line so that she could help me with the coupons I came there for in the FIRST place. It's NOT easy to navigate sale shopping and digital coupons etc, so when the lady checkers will actually help you out it's a 5+ star experience FOR SURE! Groceries are expensive and Safeway isn't my first choice for daily shopping, (for canned goods and frozen items and fresh chicken maybe Smart and Final or Walmart,) BUT it's the ONLY choice when you want to get everything you need in ONE trip. The selection is great. There is a FULL SERVICE butcher, and USDA CHOICE beef, chicken is cheaper from the butcher. The prices are a little high on your everyday items, so you had better navigate the coupons on the app on your phone if you want to get a break. The produce is beautiful, and they have all the brand name soups and salsas and seasonings and condiments you won't always find at other stores. The store is clean and layout is pretty good. The fried chicken and deli items are great. Yeah, a LOT of times there will be only 2 checkers unless you want to go to self-check, and I don't. I don't work there! So you have to be prepared to wait for full service anymore there. The part time river rats and and tourists descend on this place like flies early in the day and buy up all the half and half creamer for coffee. Now that I know that, I know I have to get there early if I need half and half. Lucerne is good, and the Shamrock from a local dairy is good. I don't like the bargain brands on dairy products and Safeway delivers...if you get there early. The sales are good IF YOU CAN FIGURE out the coupons on your phone. I literally have to check the receipt every time I shop there to MAKE SURE i got the coupon price and I stop, and check the receipt BEFORE I leave the store. I just pull my cart over and look. I have to open my phone app in the parking lot BEFORE I set foot in the store and clip the coupons. AND the coupon prices don't calculate on the screen so you literally CANNOT monitor prices while the checker is scanning them! Bastards! All the stores are doing that now and ALL grocery stores make millions $$$$ per year on overrings, so you had better check that damned receipt BEFORE you leave the store and immediately show customer service what you bought and your coupons. That's just how it is now. That said, there are a LOT of retired folks on a fixed income in Bullhead City and I feel the lady employees go above and beyond to help them get the discounts they desperately need. For that, I am grateful, and those ladies deserve KUDOS! Checkers don't always load the bags into the carts anymore, not anywhere. For some of us, it's hard to load all those things into the basket, then we have to load them into the car, then we have to carry them all into the house and sometimes there are stairs. So, I long for the days when the checkers had baggers, and the baggers did carry outs regularly - they still do by the way at Vons in Long Beach CA and Ralphs. Those guys aren't supposed to accept tips but it's worth the $5 tip to me not to have to load up heavy Cokes and water etc even though I just spend 30 minutes of my life on those discounts. Anyway, THIS particular Safeway deserves 5 stars by Bullhead City standards, it is clean, full service butcher and deli, beautiful produce, has everything, and the female employees will help you get your discount if you ask politely. read more

The Good: Excellent product inventory. The best selection of products (bar none) of any grocery store in Bullhead City, particularly upper-end items frequently unavailable in chain stores. They stock everything you need and then some. If you can't find what you're looking for at any of the other local grocery outlets, try here. I was elated to find they carried seasonally available Leinenkugel Octoberfest Beer from Chippewa Falls, WI. Although the produce section here is otherwise excellent, two items I haven't been able to find at this location are Arrugula and fresh Basil The Bad: Prices are extremely high compared to similar grocery store chains. I found that particularly true for mundane items frequently purchased by most shoppers, and also for butcher prepared meat products, e.g., Rib Eye and Filet Mignon steaks. The Ugly: When busy the parking lot is a mess. If you are buying a fair amount of items and have no desire to practice your grocery bagging skills, you'll find the checkout lines inconveniently located in terms of shopping traffic patterns. Those lines also tend to be long due to the lack of enough checkers for the store's volume. If you are only buying a few items, they do have self-checkout. Many of the store's aisles are a little too narrow, especially near the checkout area where customers regularly back up into those aisles. read more

I don't have an issue with product quality here. My only annoyance is EVERY SINGLE TIME I shop here, the cashier says "Thank you Ms Santos", which is my ex husbands last name. My debit and credit cards clearly show my correct last name on the receipt, yet they keep using the name from my very old rewards card that I swipe. Ugh. As if I wanted to be reminded of my ex husband every time I shop here. I will admit that is about 85% of why I drag my feet into shopping here. I have to sign up for a new card just for them to stop addressing me incorrectly? What about, "Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a nice day." Other than that, aisles are clean, products are fresh. Everything is easy to find. IMO, it is a little pricier than Smith's down the way, but since it is closer to my home, I consider it a convenience fee. We're driving through town and not really seeing a grocery store of any kind, when the Safeway pops up. We haven't seen a Safeway in a while, in Vegas we have Von's. So we stop in. I've never had a problem at Safeway except today, I went there this morning to get a few things when I went to the checkout isle were the candy is they had fruit mentos for 79 cents club price, and I have a Safeway Club's Card. I grabbed one and added it to my grocery's, after the cashier named Cindy ranged up my total I told her the sign says mentos are 79 cents not $1 so instead of making it 79 cents all she did was take off a penny and I ended up paying 99 cents instead of 79 cents. If its not 79 cents then you shouldn't put up a sign that says it is, I know its only 21 cents more but not having to pay 21 cents more is better than nothing and you shouldn't hire old hags who are going to be a smart aleck about it. read more

I have been going to this Safeway and the one in Fort Mohave on and off, for many years. A couple days ago, I purchased several items to be stocked up for the Fourth of July weekend. There were many items on sale for the holiday. After the items were totaled, it seemed higher than I had come up with. I mentioned it to the checker, but she said I could always come back in to customer service. In the parking lot, I realized that they had charged me for two cases of soda, full price. I wish I had gotten the name of the woman, behind the counter at customer service, because she was not very friendly. She said the person who scanned the soda, scanned three not four, so no discount was applied. That little mistake would have cost me $11.97. She basically refunded the money on my card and was done. There was no "sorry about that" or even a "thank you" when I left. I just stood there. I looked at her and said "your welcome" and walked out the store. What concerns me, if this happens constantly can you imagine how people may be getting overcharged. Many people do not even check their receipts for cost, or do it much later, after they have left. When lines are long and people tense, its hard to start questioning every discount. I do know many checkers do a quick check to make sure you are covered on "click or clip" or for U. In this world, a lot of these conveniences may be gone. read more

As a customer at Safeway, I wanted to say this is the most disgusting place I've ever been, there is mold everywhere in the deli department, the walls, the ceiling, and the floors, you can see if from the counter. People are inhaling this crap, its disgusting. The bathrooms are the most disgusting bathroom I've ever been in. Nothing has been updated since they've opened the store back in the 1960s. Very terrible management. A few months ago, there was literal shit coming up the drains in the Deli, and the managers told them to keep on working and to stay open.
