I've never had a problem at Safeway except today, I went there this morning to get a few things when I went to the checkout isle were the candy is they had fruit mentos for 79 cents club price, and I have a Safeway Club's Card. I grabbed one and added it to my grocery's, after the cashier named Cindy ranged up my total I told her the sign says mentos are 79 cents not $1 so instead of making it 79 cents all she did was take off a penny and I ended up paying 99 cents instead of 79 cents. If its not 79 cents then you shouldn't put up a sign that says it is, I know its only 21 cents more but not having to pay 21 cents more is better than nothing and you shouldn't hire old hags who are going to be a smart aleck about it. read more

I have been going to this Safeway and the one in Fort Mohave on and off, for many years. A couple days ago, I purchased several items to be stocked up for the Fourth of July weekend. There were many items on sale for the holiday. After the items were totaled, it seemed higher than I had come up with. I mentioned it to the checker, but she said I could always come back in to customer service. In the parking lot, I realized that they had charged me for two cases of soda, full price. I wish I had gotten the name of the woman, behind the counter at customer service, because she was not very friendly. She said the person who scanned the soda, scanned three not four, so no discount was applied. That little mistake would have cost me $11.97. She basically refunded the money on my card and was done. There was no "sorry about that" or even a "thank you" when I left. I just stood there. I looked at her and said "your welcome" and walked out the store. What concerns me, if this happens constantly can you imagine how people may be getting overcharged. Many people do not even check their receipts for cost, or do it much later, after they have left. When lines are long and people tense, its hard to start questioning every discount. I do know many checkers do a quick check to make sure you are covered on "click or clip" or for U. As a customer at Safeway, I wanted to say this is the most disgusting place I've ever been, there is mold everywhere in the deli department, the walls, the ceiling, and the floors, you can see if from the counter. People are inhaling this crap, its disgusting. The bathrooms are the most disgusting bathroom I've ever been in. Nothing has been updated since they've opened the store back in the 1960s. Very terrible management. A few months ago, there was literal shit coming up the drains in the Deli, and the managers told them to keep on working and to stay open. I really have to stop using this pharmacy! When I first started coming it was great, but now every time I get medicine there is a specific gal that is always unpleasant and always gives me generic forms of the medicine my dr specifically prescribed for me. They time she told me "we are out so this is the same thing". I pay for it, why do you do such things. I even noticed she said it in kind of a low voice almost as if she didn't want the actual pharmacist standing near her to hear that she said that. This time I'm sick and didn't want to give up a fight about it, as I never get antibiotics so I'm just feeling cruddy! But I think I may just switch to a new pharmacy now.. Poor customer service ended up costing me around $30.00 more than I usually pay at my local Safeway in Fair Oaks, CA. While traveling through Bullhead City, I stopped at the Safeway to purchase a bottle of scotch which usually costs me about $27.00 at my home Safeway. When I check out at the Customer Service Counter, I neglected and to use my Safeway Rewards Card and the cashier (Charlene) neglected to ask me if I had one. Long story short. It appears there is a regular price and a Safeway Rewards Card price which is 50 percent cheaper. The transaction ended up costing me $64.55, where I normally pay $27.00 to $32.00 at home. When I called the story, a nice young lady named Tanya told me price was based on the fact that I had not used my Safeway Rewards Card, and stated that Charlene should have asked me . And of course, there was no offer of a rebate even though I told Tanya that I had been shopping at Safeway for 50 years. Moral of the story, use you Safeway Rewards Card or telephone number when shopping at Safeway. read more

For the most part, everyone here is very friendly. I went to check out today and ended up in Cindy's line. While I was second in line, she bad mouthed a previous customer to the lady she was helping in front of me. Then It is my turn, she doesn't greet me or say anything to me the entire time I was there and then placed all of my bags on the belt and made me put everything in my cart. I shop at this Safeway every other day to buy butter lettuce and cucumbers. However, the last time I bought a bag of small cucumbers, I noticed mold the next day and two days after purchase I had to throw them away. The butter lettuce is a little bit better than several months ago; the stems of the lettuce were brown in the plastic package and the last time I was there, there weren't any open fresh butter lettuce. A lot of times, they look like they had a hard travel from California. I buy 7 Persian cucumbers when I am in Los Angeles, because I can't depend on this Safeway. We shop at Safeway every week and always get great service. Yesterday we had an emergency come up in the middle of our shopping we told Joahni who works in the produce department and she told us no problem and took care of our cart of groceries. She greets us every week. Also shout out to Mike in the meat department who always goes the extra mile for us and also greets us every week. Pretty much every employee there is always very friendly!! Okay so I just have to leave a review for the florist I came in today Oct. 18th 2014 around 2 p.m. and it was my anniversary I was looking to but 4 bouquets of roses I found 2 but that didn't matter the lady that helped me went above and beyond and I mean when I say that she met my expectations. She rewrapped the bouquets of roses into one plastic put a beautiful red bow around it. She took her time in meeting all my needs. I haven't had such great genuine customer service like that in a long time. She was very kind. This Safeway was a great place to purchase your household groceries or the food and essentials for your weekend getaway on the river. The store is clean, well-stocked, and has wide isles for easy movement around the store. Everything I was looking for was available and the staff and cashiers were very helpful and friendly. Considering that Bullhead City and Laughlin are fairly small towns, it is nice to see a major grocery chain like this as an available option for your shopping needs. If you are staying in Laughlin at the Hotels. This store is very simple to drive to. Just head across the river at the north end of Laughlin, go across the bridge and then turn right on the main road just past the bridge, drive down the road a few miles and you will see it on the right side of the road. read more

Typical, average Safeway store that serves both sides of the river. This store has a Starbucks inside, which is nice since there aren't any stand-alone locations in the Bullhead City/Laughlin area. Store is also open relatively late, and offers self checkout machines. The prices here are higher than Smith's, but they do offer some good sales every week. I usually only go here as a secondary shopping place, with Smith's being my main choice. read more

Needed to pick up some bottled water and snacks during a visit to Laughlin, Nevada and the nearest grocery store was the Safeway in Bullhead City, Arizona - only three miles from our hotel. Good variety, loved the baked goods, great fruit selection, and very friendly place. We use the sister grocery store chain, Vons, in California, so we were able to use our Vons Club card in Safeway. This Safeway was even better than the Vons we normally patronize in San Diego. read more

Visiting Avi Hotel for the weekend. Went for a coffee here (there's a Starbucks inside) and left my phone in the counter. Went for a sandwich in another area of the huge market and the barista found my and returned it safely. Great customer service and get honest employees. Coffee and sandwich were delicious. When you are out on the lake after your third of fourth beer, Safeway's chicken is the absolute best. Wow my husband and I went in Sun. evening. 10-14-18. 2 check stands where open so we went in the one that was not the express. We put our things up. Know one was standing in front of us, but the checker was bagging. A man came up in front of my husband, which he didn't notice and the checker looked at my husband and said are you paying for his stuff. So we moved back. But really, it took everything in me to not tell her how rude she was being to us. We didn't realize he hadn't paid yet. That's how you treat your customers!!! This is the only grocery store in the area. Check out team is always friendly. My complaint is regarding expired food! This is the third time I have accidentally purchased expired items. On more than one occasion I have paid for expired items. The latest item was a frozen pie. I never thought to check the expiration date on a frozen pie. However, the date caught my eye and it expired 30 days ago. I just bought it three days ago. Not good!!!! I did not keep the receipt and I am angry that this has happened to me at this store more than once. read more

I saw a dog being put on the food belt at express checkout. The clerk told the customer to do it so he could get in his pocket then she interacted with the dog. I went to the Pharmacy on Sunday, was told my prescription couldn't be filled till Wednesday. And it was a new prescription. So, I waited till 7:45 to WALK a mile.....just saving gas and need to walk to keep the Radiation Poisoning in my bones (from job hazard), from burning......walking keeps the pain down. Anyway, I got there in 10 minutes, walking. I had to deal with Pharmacist, Glen Namura. Ih my gosh, was HE RUDE, uncaring. I still have my North Carolina Driver's License, never had a problem with having it to fill any prescription before....till Mr. Namura. His attitude is very harsh, rude, uncaring, and seemed cynical. As though I WAS the problem. I have NEVER been treated so rudely, by anyone, ever. If Mr Namura HATES his job, then maybe he should change jobs. Safeway has enough attitude problems, without the Pharmacy behaving so unprofessionally. I understand that this area and the world has "drug seeking addicts", but I am not one of them. My doctors here, in this area are wonderful and I have been diagnosed with legitimate health issues. Ones I didn't ask for or do anything to deserve. I was a Neuro-trauma RN. I was exposed to an excessive amount of radiation, while doing my job. But to be treated like I am a waste of time by a pharmacist who is supposed to CARE about patients, is beyond cruel. It is difficult enough to have to "learn to live with my disease", but no one should be treated with such disrespect, when that Pharmacist has no idea what that patient is having to deal with, everyday. I never even took aspirin before....and I have been humiliated enough having to take any medication, much less, having to rely on that medication to get through each day. I have been using Walgreens, but Safeway was recommended by another disgusted Walgreens Pharmacy customer. So....I thought I'd give it a shot..... I will NEVER be back to Safeway for any reason. And will tell everyone I know. Mr. Namura should be ashamed of himself. Now I have to go back in 3 hours to, hopefully, pick up my medication. read more

I live in Laughlin. I`m from Texas & we don`t have Safeway`s or Von`s there. We had Safeway when I was a kid but by todays standards that was the `Olden Days` ! I like these Safeway`s in Bullhead & Ft. Mohave. They`re great & I`m getting sick of buying groceries at Walmart.! Walmart has gotten Too Big for their Britches !!!! We are always treated nicely - they have good produce and are stocked well; the checkers and baggers are very nice, they pack my bags with care (tomatoes on top not on the bottom). I have ordered my Thanksgiving turkey dinner there before and just ordered it again! read more

their produce, meat, and bakery are probably the best in town, and it's the only store in town with organic grass-fed beef. I'm giving the store 4 stars for quality stuff and cleanliness, but it was a toss-up between three stars because of their constant annoying frills like noisy music, etc., the Monopoly and other huckster crap while checking out (I go to buy food, not support starving refugees. I can do that in other settings if I wish). Actually, this is a major irritant to me. Then on my visit last Friday night around 10:30 P.M. they had a single checkout line open, and the customer line was backed up all the way to the back of the store! I left my things and departed. It's a good store, just know what you want and shop at slower times and try to ignore the peripheral stuff. And say 'hi' to all the surveillance cameras.
