Lame! Amount of time to check out is ridiculous! Not great selection and checkers are comatose.

Worst service ever at a grocery store deli. There was only one young female employee working in the deli at dinner time, and she would pick and choose who she wanted to wait on/flirt with. She helped the handsome young man who just walked up rather than the people who had been waiting a long time. Many people got frustrated and left without purchasing anything, including me. I got much better service at the Red Apple Market. read more

The deli counter at this Safeway needs some help. I was there last night waiting to be helped while listening to the woman behind the counter yell back and forth to each other. It was purely conversational, but really inappropriate with customers waiting for assistance. It also seemed to slow their service. It was difficult to maneuver in the deli area. There were three very large box carts full of boxes in the aisle way. No one seemed to pay any attention to this accept the customers who were trying to move in and around the area. The comments I heard were definitely not good. I will avoid this Safeway in future. read more

I used to live near this Safeway in Chelan, but now live in So. Cal. I called to order flowers and a birthday cake. Both the floral and bakery were easy going, took my info with low stress and did a good job on both. A family member picked up the order at the appointed time and they were ready. I was very happy when I saw the photos of the birthday party. Small town atmosphere but good work! Support your local stores, not Walmart! read more

This has got to be the worst Safeway I've ever been in. Giving 2 stars because it was nice to have a chain grocery store around to buy stuff for my kids while visiting the area for the first time for a wedding. That's worth a lot in my book. It's also very small compared to other Safeway stores and prices were a bit high. It's hard to get up and down aisles if you have carts going opposite directions and people trying to shop. Was looking for ribbon to complete my wedding gift and ribbon was non-existent. I wasn't happy. Customer service is terrible. Cashiers don't great you, don't say hello, don't say thank you and they look depressed and unhappy to be working, functional people in society. The kicker for me was the bathroom. Are these people serious? It looked and smelled what I would imagine the welfare office bathroom would look like. It was awful. When my husband warned me how bad it was, I wish I would have listened and chose the portable outhouses outside the building instead. No paper towels, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, and they had a little table in there that looked like every male patron provided a semen sample on. Foul, just foul. They also have sign on the door that says "unfortunately, this is our only bathroom, there are portable bathrooms outside of you prefer that option" Really? To me that basically warns you that the bathroom is beyond awful and provide you other options that under normal circumstances is worse than a normal bathroom, but not in this case. Here's my advice, take a chance on the portable outhouse, or go down the road and find a bush. Not impressed with any part of this store. read more

My dermatologist is currently helping me switch pharmacies since the Safeway pharmacy manager has blamed me for the pharmacy not having my Accutane prescription ordered when they received all info that they need from my doctor to make the orders. The pharmacy manager claimed that I never called at the beginning of the week to provide all info that they need in order to place the order. However, since I did call at the beginning of the week (Tuesday, August 30th) and spoke with a woman pharmacist with a raspy voice, providing her with all info that they need to place the order, this just shows me that the woman pharmacist either forgot or lied to her manager about me calling and providing all information needed to make my prescription order. This woman also claimed that she did not have all info from my doctor in order to make my prescription renewal but promised me on Tuesday that she would work on it. I'm guessing that since she didn't want to take the time to get whatever information that she needed, she put my order aside and forgot all about it. I called again today (Thursday, Sept. 1st) and spoke with this same raspy voiced woman and found out that my order had not even been placed yet. I provided her with all the same information that I had given her on Tuesday and then immediately called my doctor to ask if there was any other information that my doctor needed to provide my pharmacy. My doctor was appalled that the order had not been made yet and also called the pharmacy today and spoke with this same woman pharmacist and had to argue with the woman in order for the woman to understand that she has all info that she needs in order to make my Accutane order and that the order should have been there at the pharmacy by today and did not understand why it was not there. My dermatologist said she has never had to deal with such lack of compliance from a pharmacy before and instructed me to keep calling the pharmacy all day today until they put the order through. I have been having similiar incidents with the Safeway pharmacy for the past 3 months that I have been on the Accutane prescription. Each month when my prescription is renewed I only have a 7 day window to pick the prescription up or it expires and I have to start the whole 5 month Accutane treatment all over again. Each month there seems to be a lack of urgency from the pharmacy and have consistently received my prescription at the last possible minute even with myself and my doctor calling them each time to make sure the order is made. I reported this incident to the Chelan Safeway manager today since this is the 4th month of me dealing with this crap from the pharmacy. The manager apologized and said he would call me back. Never received a call back from him despite giving him my cell number. When I called the pharmacy to get an update a couple hours after calling the Safeway manager, this is when I spoke with the pharmacy manager who told me that my prescription was now available (oh wow now HOW did you get that so fast when you just supposedly received all my information this morning and the past three months have taken up to at least 4 days to receive an order?) but he was not happy that I called the Safeway manager and thought I was just out to get attention by reporting the pharmacy's inadequacy. He did not believe that I called on Tuesday to provide any and all information that they need to make my Accutane order and proceeded to basically call me a liar when I have proof on my cell phone that I did in fact call the Safeway pharmacy on Tuesday. Myself and my dermatologist are appalled at how Safeway pharmacy has conducted themselves throughout my Accutane process and even though I only have one month left on the treatment we are can't take the Safeway pharmacy's abuse anymore! If you ever have to get on the Accutane prescription, NEVER use the Safeway pharmacy! They will put your order on the back burner and not care that you only have a seven day window to pick up the prescription before it expires. If they do not receive all the information that they need in order to make your order, they will simply not call you or your doctor to get that information and will let your prescription expire and if you do not poke and prod them your prescription could expire and you will have to start the whole Accutane process alllll over again. read more
