A simple, small delivery order will involve around 8 calls to customer service where you get to navigate a massive language/standardS barrier and will accomplish nothing but getting your blood pressure up. Not only is it not worth your time and struggle, the prices ARE OBSCENE. And you know why prices are so high? Because ever since Covid, when all of this delivery got really big, we (you and I) have been paying through the nose to make up the shortfall from all of the groceries they've had to comp b/c they screwed up. So basically you're buying your groceries and the groceries of 10 other people who got them for free b/c Safeway can't hire anyone that speaks English or knows what they're doing. They did a great job!) This one is a little older than the others, in the way of flooring, other than that is perfect. I make my shopping list according to the way they have their store setup. It makes it easy and manageable. Especially, if I have to send someone to pick a few things up for me. Staff is friendly and helpful, in all departments. What other butcher counter does that? Hello to the fresh sturgeon steaks that called my name. My favorite fish is very hard to find and super expensive. These steaks per pound seemed way cheaper than any other meat or fish since this economy jumped into the handbasket. The sturgeon was delicious grilled and seasoned with a little duck fat oil amd lemon. I also got some enormous thick loin lamb chops and some veal stew to make my mother's fabulous veal saute (on the stove as we speak) recipe. They had real almond macaroons and an amazing assortment of Ukrainian, Russian, and Armenian delicacies and staples. And as you browse down the aisles, you'll see things you've never seen before. Hell, a lot of the products are in Burmese only, with maybe an English sticker on the back. That's how authentic and unique we are talking here. Fermented laphet, both whole and grounded, for tea leaf salad. Cans of pickled vegetables you've never seen before. Condiments. Fried garlic crunch. Instant noodles. More pickles and shrimp cake in the fridge. These are not things you'll find in the nearby major Asian supermarket. And if you find yourself with too much fermented tea leaf at once, well, I have sesame dressing at home, and my go to is noodles dressed with the sesame dressing for a good base flavor, with the laphet added for a twang in the flavor, and cilantro added for freshness. Because they sell laphet by the bag on the shelf, and that's a lot, but they also sell them in packet bundles on the stand near the door, and the packets are super powerful, at least when you're cooking for just a bachelor.

If I were at my Folsom, Trader Joe's, I would be shoulder to shoulder with shoppers :-). The store was well stocked. Except for cottage cheese. I have found Folsom Trader Joe's to routinely be out of cottage cheese also. It is the best tasting cottage cheese I have ever had. I guess a lot of people feel the same. Additionally, this area, like Folsom and surrounding nearby areas, is experiencing a large population explosion. And I am sure it is a challenge to keep shelves filled. When I checked out, I asked about the seemingly different layout of this particular TJ and the chronic cottage cheese shortage. The checker said that cottage cheese disappears so fast they're only allowed to put out one pallet a day. And he confirmed that the layout is different than most Trader Joe's because they have a very creative, awesome manager who is really good at those type of things! Like my TJs in Folsom... customer service is wonderful here. And parking sucks:).
