On Saturday 9/12/26 went to the pharmacy to pick up my wife's prescribed medication. The co payment was over $400. We had never paid that much for a copayment. Before I could say anything Jodi told me to call the customer service number (she gave me the number from her computer). to see why it's so high. When I got home I was able to straighten out the co pay issue with the drug company. When I called back Diane took the time to help me make sure the discount was applied to my wife's prescription Instead of a copay of over $400 it was only $35!!!! I went grocery shopping at Safeway in Lake havesu. I was trying to use the app to save money by clipping coupons. I really didn't know what I was doing. I was typing in every individual product to see if it was on sale to clip a coupon. The process was not not easy. When I went to check out Jacob was my Cashier. It was the end of his shift and I was the last Customer. He helped me through the entire process and showed me the scanner! It was so much easier to use than how I was doing it. He was tired I could tell but pleasant and extremely helpful. My bill rang up $450.00+ and saved $200.00+!!!! My Husband and I have never had any issues with Safeway ( in-store shopping and online). Came here a couple of times and the store is very clean and organized. They have prepared food ready to go like potato salad, chicken tenders, etc all very fresh. The best thing is their fruit it's fresh precut in the refrigerator ready to go! The employees are all very nice and quick, never had to wait more than 5 minutes at checkout. read more

Been shopping at this store for the past couple years and I've encountered issues with food being spoiled. Most recent was beef I purchased yesterday that was packed yesterday. The beef had a slight sour smell, but not putrid. I cooked it fully and ate it, got food poisoning late last night. Also bought blue cheese from the open air cooler that ended up having pink discoloration upon opening. Inspect your food and don't trust the expiration dates. read more

Worst experience at the Safeway the gal working in the deli service was very rude. Does not know how to talk to customers and very accusatory. I would not recommend this place to others and so many ways she was saying we were stealing in reality she was not watching and what we were ordering my friend put into my box and we were going to pay for it, and she had very rude remarks to say horrible customer service. Safeway stands out as grocery stores go in the bakery, deli, produce and meat departments. They have a huge selection of deserts and breads. The produce is fresh and they have a lot of pre cut vegetables and fruits to pick up if you don't want to spend time making your own. They have recently added self check out lanes which goes a lot faster that waiting in line which was my one negative point at this store. Wow! Once again Safeway has another rude service person. Called the bakery to ask if they could make a cake for our staff Christmas party. Told the lady anything that could go with a "white Christmas" theme, like white frosting, white sprinkles I don't care. She said she didn't understand and couldn't do this unless we had a picture to bring in. Really we just wanted to have a cake for a CHRISTMAS party and do a Christmas theme and make it more white, using white as the majority of the color. She was rude and not helpful. Visited this location while in town for a few days. The store is clean and was well stocked. This was a pleasant surprise during these Covid times. We went during the so called Golden Hours and were pleased to see all the staff and nearly all the guests wearing masks and being sensitive to maintaining physical distancing. We found this refreshing in a town which is otherwise filled with people who are not taking the pandemic seriously. read more

I've been shopping at the Lake Havasu store for almost 12 years now as we live here ....all employees are great! I have a service dog that i need to socialize for my disabled husband so when i'm in a hurry i bring a clean blanket and put him in the seat part of the cart! I shop once a week... so today a young PIC (person in charge) comes over to tell me he has to be on the ground...NEVER once has that happened so goodbye hello Walmart as they allow dogs in the carts... but there is always that one employee that has the power so to speak and i speak from experience having worked for a major food chain for 35 years!! And Albertsons is my favorite store too...I don't understand that rule at all as I have seen plenty of dogs in carts there as well and have passed by Managers all over the store and no one has ever said a thing! read more

We were in Lake Havasu for a weekend get away and it was the first time we visited this Safeway. I had a few questions, but I didn't see any one on the floor to help me, so I approached a long hair young man, he was a cashier. He was very helpful and answered all my questions. We always shop here when we come to visit Havasu. The store is clean and well stocked at all times that I have been in. The customer service has always been fantastic and Marc is always so pleasant and helpful! Options in the deli are great for lake days as well as any sides or pastries you desire. You can find anything you need to get you through the week. If you use the Safeway just 4 u app you can save a lot of money between that and the normal store sales. Just make sure you have the right store location on there otherwise it doesn't work for you! When you have a large group this tends to be very helpful. Worst grocery store in town, especially right now from Memorial thru Labor Day. It's the location...closest store to the lake and all the loser 951'ers that are basically only here for Saturday all come to this store. I mean seriously, there is a Bashas right across the street but, they seem to prefer Safeway. Anyway, this store can't handle it...too small. The staff is usually on edge too for anyone who even looks like they are part of the boating crowd.....whatever, I get it. OH, even during the off season if there is even one group of the hey-bros here in town you will find 'em here. Easy to know when because you will see their "Rigs" out in the parking lot taking up no less than 6 spaces each. Plus, there are usually a few still hanging there in the parking lot already trying to party-it-up while others do the shopping, hilarious! I have actually been to this store many times because I like the Safeway Signature Deli sandwiches, despite that the bitches working the deli here for years are horrible to deal with. I finally had enough at the first of this year during the total-off-season for boating when the worst old-bitch here snapped at me for asking a question about the bread. I turned and said "nevermind" and walked away and I haven't been back since. Otherwise, the store is well stocked, well staffed and clean. The manger is nice and friendly to all customers. Unfortunately it's really hit and miss with the rest of the staff.....some can handle "it" and some can't. To avoid all the BS I go Albertson's just a couple minutes up the road on McCulloch. It's really ok at this Safeway as far as selection goes. The deli is nice and large with a good variety of meats and cheeses and other yummies. Not a good soy creamer selection, but I'm probably the only person that noticed this. Here's what I did notice though--the checkout line is no fun, it's looong and takes forever. The lady was kind enough to push me to get the rewards card and save $$, but it took her several minutes to check me out. So many minutes that people left my line! Also a guy asked if I needed help and I replied only if you aren't doing anything (he wasn't), and then he just shrugged and walked away. Haha! Gotta love havasu :)! Most Safeways hold up to the standards established by Safeway Corporation long ago - clean store, good service and fresh food. Our trips to this Safeway were quick perusals of the fruit section and a Starbucks stop, but the store is clean and well-stocked and the woman working the Starbucks booth was personable. We'll come back here for groceries when we're in town. TIP: They have a few tables inside if you want to grab a bite to eat and sit down in the cool store with a good book. read more

I have been to this Safeway many times but it isn't my favorite grocery store in town. Sure, they occasionally have good sugar cookies, but my Safeway in Phoenix has them more frequently. On this most recent occasion, my mom had to stop in here for some ice cream. The one she wanted said it was $2.99 but was ringing up $5.99. The cashier checked and only specific flavors were $2.99 but he was really nice and sold it to her for the sales price. That's good customer service. The location is pretty convenient - it's in the heart of town and just down the street is Albertson's. I'd much rather go to Safeway than Albertson's. Plus, this Safeway has a Starbuck's inside, which was awesome growing up in Havasu. Does the Albertson's? No, I don't think so. read more

On 4-3-21 I was entering the Lake Havasu, Az. Safeway store and while putting on mask I dropped a $50 bill. Was on walk so came back later to purchase items and report loss. My husband reminded me how silly it was for me to carry the $$$ when he had pockets and I did not! Customer Service Rep. I've always been happy with Safeways in terms of staff, cleanliness and absence of any bad smells and the organic Open Nature brand (everything they make is SO good & doesn't "taste" organic but like high quality food). Moving from a big city I was concerned about the quality of produce, the Open Nature selection and prices of a small town Safeway. The prices are equal to or LESS than in Phoenix. Produce quality is BETTER. A LOT better. Shockingly, they have 3x MORE Open Nature products here. Items I didn't even know they made. Safeway here is also the only place in town I've found bran muffins that taste good. For real. I'm told the doughnuts are better than other stores too. I'd say this store is doing a heck of a lot right and give a shout out to the Store Manager and all those employees who have made it everything I need and expect in a quality grocery store. read more

I walked into this store not knowing if i made the right decision to come buy a cake here!. 6 of us walked in, Marc offered to help us and he met us at the bakery section as he promised. Besides his very welcoming attitude and great personality he helped us find the right American cake for the occasion. As we fished our shopping at the store we walked to the check out line, And we found Marc helping clear out the lines. There were several clients on the line that knew mark by 1st name. We were not surprised at all. 4 of these people that came with us to the store are teenagers that experienced how to give great customer service. That will be their bar to reach For a long time as they get their 1st job. Thanks for the great service Marc. My biggest complaint with Safeway on McCulloch is the lack of self-check out lines. There really isn't a good time to go to Safeway, as there are generally only 2 cashiers working at any given time. In comparison, Smith's on Acoma has several self-checkout lines which make going there an efficient experience. As far as other aspects of the store, no complaints. Par for the course as compared to any other Safeway store. Good selection of beer, especially local microbrews. read more

Best Place to get your fresh chicken strips for your day on the water! Kids love them and you will too. May not be healthy, but they never disappoint especially when you compliment them with Beeno Deli Mustard (sold at deli counter). 3 pounds will take care of your family of 5 and a good beer or a diet coke will help wash it down! Besides this, they are clean, busy with vacationers and offer up more than just the basics. Sometimes, specialty items like Garlic Olive Oil for cooking and better wine selections. We always hit the shiny new Walmart for our essential items and buy some grocery items there too. Most often I can't find a specific item at the Walmart grocery section and have to go to Safeway. This is the NICEST Safeway I have ever ever been to! I went in to buy some sweet bagels. I looked for awhile, and asked the lady behind the bread counter. She said that they didn't have any left, so she proceeded to take a loaf of cinnamon sugar ciabatta and cut me off a piece to let me taste-test it. She ended up GIVING me the entire bread. I was like "Are you sure?" and she was just like "yea. For sure." Everyone here in this town has been amazingly nice. I would definately consider retiring here in this quaint little absolutely lovely town. And I would definately shop at this Safeway. read more
