This morning I had a not great experience with the gas attendant who opened. 3 cars waiting at 0552 to get fuel. She proceeded to yell at all of us that they weren't open for another 7 minutes. I then left, went & got coffee, then came back. It was now 0558. Myself & 4 other vehicles were waiting to fuel up. At 0602 she came out of the little store thing, proceeded to yell at everyone again that the pumps were on but the system was down. Once the system came back up, I got my fuel no problem. Well she proceeded to stay in the store area while 2 people needed help pumping gas & did not assist them. I had to help another lady pump her gas because the attendant wouldn't. I have never had a problem, but this morning definitely showed lack of customer service & kindness. read more

Tasty treat from Starbucks @ Safeway in Lebanon, OR. ! While browsing for veggies at Safeway, I heard over the loud speaker that Starbucks was giving out samples. I didn't really pay any attention to what they were promoting and didn't think much of it again until we were ready to check out and I noticed some other customers enjoying a little something. Since Starbucks is close to the check out area, I made my way there and snatched up a sample for myself and it was so delicious, I had to go back and ask what it was called! As seen in the picture, it was a cute, well-made sample of a cinnamon roll Frappuccino. I would have guessed it was vanilla bean with just a sprinkle of cinnamon on the whip. I appreciated the sweet treat, but wouldn't go all out and buy a normal size of it, I can't imagine wanting to consume that much sugar!! It was very nice, nonetheless, for them to promote drinks through enticing samples. Thank you. read more

Curb side pick up is the worst. Received a confirmation email saying that payment was processed and to wait for a Ready to be Picked Up email. Never received an email so I called the store. Was told that they couldn't find my order with my name or order number and to call the 1-800 number. I called and the only thing they could do was cancel the order. I did that before going into the store to pickup my items. Later, I received a phone call from the store stating that my order was ready for pick-up. They told me my name wasn't on the order, even though they should be able to see the card charged on file, verify my order number and phone number. Regardless, after speaking with the supervisor, she made it seem like it was my fault. Complete waste of my time. Terrible curb side pick-up system that they have at this location. Never again! My recommendation is to pick a different Safeway for curb side pick-up or walk into the store. read more

Have to give a huge thank you to Safeway. Yesterday I was shopping with hubby. I had to use a scooter cart due to an ankle injury. The store was PACKED and employees were stocking shelves. One employee (I didn't catch her name) went above and beyond (even after I was rude to her) to make our check out quick. Thank you so much, and once again, I'm sorry I was such a grump! Horrible management team. They treat their employees very poorly and don't look out for their best interest. I decided not to work for them when the hiring manager described how much I wouldn't like the job and said that I would have to go to work even if I was throwing up and super sick.. I was applying for a deli position so her telling me this was very off putting. I've known other people who have worked for this Safeway and they all hate it and feel unappreciated. This makes me sad because if they appreciated their employees and didn't make them feel horrible, the entire store would be so much better. Hopefully Safeway can step up their game. read more

This is no longer the Safeway from the glory days of the 80s & 90s. The "gems" of customer service are few and far between. During the last few visits, I just don't see the store neat, clean, or appealing. There are a couple of speedy and efficient checkers. The young man at the deli made two very good sandwiches for brunch, but it sure took a long time, because the deli was not prepared to serve customer. I'm also no longer able to eat the Chinese food here without getting ill. Unfortunately the negative outweighs the positive here and they're running out of chances to get my time and hard-earned money. At least they started doing curb-side grocery delivery :) read more

Doughnuts have been very fresh every time. Prices aren't great, but decent if you have a "club card" (doesn't cost anything). They could use more people at checkout, seems to always be long lines when I go. read more

The Deli has definitely gone down in quality, especially their fried chicken. The chicken is so small and dry in comparison to Walmarts deli, and it's not crispy anymore. It use to be much better than Walmart, but in the last few months it has definitely dropped in quality. read more

Some of the reviews....oh my god. Guys, it's a grocery store. It's not like the people working there are planning to stay around too awful long. The store is clean, the produce is the best you can get from a chain outlet, and prices are on par with everywhere else with the exception of Walmart, and everyone knows why that is. Every time I stop here, it never fails. There's always some loudmouth squabbling over not getting their three cent discount, and I have to shake my head about it. You want fresh food? Shop here. You want cheap food? Probably being sold within hours of the expiration date? Go to Walmart. Stop acting like tour life is ending over the most minuscule amounts. read more

I travel every week for work and shop at Safeway whenever I can. We are going to stop shopping Safeway in lebanon, Oregon because of the long lines that are always there. Never enough checkers. Lines clear down that isles. What is going on. Back to Walmart I guess or drive to Albany. read more

I'm kinda flattered, but the cashier thought I was underage (I'm 28) and even though my fiance (32) is the one buying she refused us $5 of alcohol because I didn't bring my wallet, which contained my ID (his turn to buy). I would get your alcohol anywhere else because this is the first time in my life this has happened, and not our first issue with this Safeway. read more

If there was any less of an option than one star I would've picked it, today I witnessed the most sickening thing. Jone't was at the cash register at the express lane, and was checking out a man with a can return and she loudly announced "how could you spell this wrong" to another coworker with a spelling and learning disability in front of many customers and other employees I'm sure heard. This resulted in customers feeling awful for this poor girl. Wow that was just so uncalled for, she deserves to be demoted if not fired, that is so uncalled for I WILL MENTION THIS TO CORPORATE. read more

Safeway is an awesome place to shop, and one of my favorite places to shop. This Safeway has a great selection of groceries and household goods that you would look for. Even in small town Lebanon, I have never had any issues finding a particular item I would need for a recipe, or something I wanted to eat. read more

I would give this 2.5 stars if that were an option. I am new to the area and this is my nearest supermarket. This store is clean, brightly lit, and well-organized. They are very good about opening more checkout lines when those that are open begin to get backed up. I have found the checkout people and other personnel to be pretty nice and friendly . . . WITH THE NOTABLE EXCEPTION OF THE DELI. It is absolutely dreadful! Very small selection of meats - they have no smoked turkey except for mesquite, which my husband and I don't like. To compound that issue, the deli employees are surly and poorly trained. I have waited a ridiculously long time after I tell them what I want before they can even find it. I have seen them knock around in several nearby coolers looking for what I asked for. Really? You can't find black forest ham and there it is in the deli case right in front of my face? It took the woman FOREVER to decide to ask another employee for help (and there were other customers behind me waiting and getting annoyed). Neither deli employee offered any semblance of an apology - their demeanor seemed to indicate that they thought I had a lot of nerve to ask for something they couldn't find right away. HORRIBLE customer service, due to poor employee training. My conclusion: as a store to run to when I need some standard item, it serves the purpose. But I will NEVER use that deli again. I'd rather drive all the way to the Fred Meyer in Albany where the deli people offer samples, smile, make recommendations, and KNOW EXACTLY WHERE TO FIND THE MEAT OR CHEESE YOU JUST ASKED THEM TO SLICE FOR YOU! This review is for the Pharmacy only. For the last two years, I have been using the Safeway Pharmacy and I have been extremely disappointed with my many experiences in this shoddy pharmacy. I am not exaggerating at all with the reasons why I say this which are as follows; 1)I have on several occasions spoken with someone in the pharmacy to have a RX or two refilled and she's either forgotten to tell the pharmacist or just didn't bother to. 2)On several occasions, two days after calling in refills through the automated system, they haven't been ready(after the time that was specified that they would be). 3) I can't even count how many times someone in there has "lost" my RX. 4)I was once given the wrong dosage of painkillers (could have ended very badly had I not checked the bottle). Being a very small and petite woman, the dosage probably would have caused a trip to the ER. 5) On numerous occasions my RXs have been "put back" well before 7 days. 6) Several times they've filled one RX that I had called in several days before, but not any of the others. 7) When I ask to speak to the pharmacy manager (about 6 times now), she's oddly NEVER THERE. Point is is that this by far the worst pharmacy that I have ever used. I think that I'd rather have my RXs filled by Paco on the corner of Pacific Ave and Sprague on Hilltop Tacoma. read more

I've been here a few times to get lunch. I need to stop. I've never seen a deli so unprepared for a lunch rush ever.

This store is usually my 1st choice when it comes to grocery shopping in Lebanon one cause its always clean and pleasant ive never seen rotten food or people allowed to bring animals into this store that were not genuine service dogs..so that's a big plus in my book! I often shop in the evening after the Deli has closed but the few times I did manage to catch them open there was a bit of a wait granted but the service seamed ok and the lunch meats were fresh and good over all ive also gotten some of their precooked items and they were also decent for what they were.The meat department is always well stocked and clean as well as produce so that's good Fish is always fresh and the fish,meat and produce workers have always been helpful and friendly. Now onto the cons and the 1st one is kind of a big one if you use the U coupons be careful those are the deals/coupons that you can add to your store card ive caught them not being taken off mutable times basically the deals are great here when you can actually get them! ive gone over my receipt when ive gotten home and there is usually mutable over charges yes that's right MUTABLE OVER CHARGES cause ether the advertised deal didn't come off with the card or the card coupons themselves that I know I loaded onto my card before shopping just flat out didn't work..considering that this store is a little on the pricey side to start off with not getting at least the advertised deals is really a issue.. Ok now onto the second issue its the electric disability carts half the time they will die in the middle of the isles and when they do they will screech this horrible buzzing sound not only is it embarrassing but its very inconvenient im using one in the 1st place cause im sick I don't want to be made to feel worse cause the managers/owner prob didn't want to spend some cash and get a few new batteries for these carts they have literary died flat and screaming 5 mins into my shopping after having the lights be fully green so for the love of god please get some new batteries in those things cause some of us actually need them and are not just being lazy honest!.. Over all those two issues aside in a small town were your grocery choices are pretty much a filthy unstocked pet infested rancid meat Walmart or a fility old looking no choice barren super budget Mega foods this is still the best cleanest well stocked grocery store in town but don't go if you need a electric cart and you have to be very careful if your trying to use any kinda of discounts or even just want to get the advertised deals..be sure to triple check your receipts.. read more

Usually a good place to shop. Nice selection and friendly checkers. However, recently, there has been a staffing problem. Long lines and never enough checkers. Consistently terrible service. Call a prescription in in the early morning and still wait a minimum of a half hour before it is filled. Most of the time they have to "try and find it" in the computer for a good 15 minutes. A couple of the techs are nice but the majority will greet you with impatience and attitude. I think safeway has gotten so much better now that they have a redbox. There prices sometimes seem pretty spendy but if you have a membership card then you'r good. I like going there because they have the best fresh produce in town. (hint) that I live in sweethome and there isn't much to pick from. I also like going there because sometimes I need run and pick something up and safeway is aways open late. major plus to that. thanks read more

Went there recently to get a prescription filled at their Pharmacy. People were nice and did a good job. However, after I left the store I had this inward check so I checked my Medication. I was a pill short. I did not return as I felt they would probably not believe me. We all make mistakes so it was not a big deal. From now on feel that I have to double check things out. read more
