Writing this review specifically for James in Floral as he was so incredibly helpful and created a beautiful bouquet for me. He went out of his way, even though there was a few obstacles with my order and seemed genuinely happy to help and had such a sweet and positive attitude. Thank you so much James!

Got to love a 21 lb buttterball !

I like Safeway , totally . It's a store we can count on . Mill valley has two Safeway's , both about the same , but strawberry village is a quick shot off the highway . Both stores are busy , that's constant , but they all are working hard to get you in and out . Today we bought a Butterball . Usually we do a Willie bird or Diesel , last several years , my Mom does a brine Willie bird from Williams Sonoma . But ultimately the butterball rocks ! Target usually has them on sale , we did not check that , oh well . It's starting to feel chaotic out there , we saw a accident happen right in front of us in the city & then encountered a bad one in Novato . Slow down people & let's keep our heads up and be mindful .

    Good stuff!

I go to this Safeway a couple times a week at least, usually for lunch. I park my truck near here on my lunchbreak, so I come here for lack of other options if anything. I like Whole Foods (who doesn't?) but it's just too expensive for everyday use. Compared to other Safeways, this one is pretty weak. Here is why: Sushi was semi frozen Staff is cold and unwelcoming Understaffed in the deli area One of the sandwiches I had tasted pretty rank, like maybe the Ham had turned? It had an almost fishy taste, and I couldn't finish it. I must say I have had good sushi and most sandwiches are good, but a few of these issues, especially compared to my local Safeway, make this tough for me to go anything above a 2.5 (rounded down.)

Shopped this store this afternoon and was caught by surprise. The store is well-stocked, bright, clean, people were practicing good social distancing and there were enough employees to help when needed. We waited roughly 20-25 minutes in line which is to be expected right now. The employees were attentive, thorough and were enforcing company policies with regard to public health and safety. Special shout out to: Marchelle and Josh (Front End Manager) who handled rather gracefully the frustrations of a man behind me. Josh even opened a special check stand for the man so he could buy his essentials (his vodka kept him from going through self-check.) I'll be skipping the Corte Madera location and coming here going forward. Thank you Safeway team

Finally I have found the best deli in safeway ever! I love getting breakfast burritos. And I always have problems when I ask people to make some custom adjustments fo me. Its always ether badly made or they complain. But not this lady! She was so nice and she was so helpful and she made the best breakfast burrito ever. I was in haven. I am super happy and I am very pleased to write this review. Of cause I forgot to ask her name. I always forget. But you can kinda tell who she is from the side. Give her a raise! And ofcause this is my safeway to go to for breakfast burritos and trust me I have tried them almost in every safeway in the area.

I was going on a sailing trip and needed 7 custom deli sandwiches. I went to the deli in Strawberry and met with Carina. She took my order and said the sandwiches would be ready at 8 the next morning. She wrote the initials of each person on the wrapper to minimize confusion. They were packed and ready and I was thrilled! They were delicious and my friends were delighted. Thank you Carina! You brought customer service back to a world in need of more people like you!

This is one of those places that just kind of feels like home…read more I've been stopping by this market for as long as I've been hiking in the Golden Gate Area, which is over a decade. Some of Good Earth's items are on the super pricy side, but some are also reasonable. The deli and bakery items are usually pretty good. This was the first place I ever found Sjaak's chocolate. Sadly, they no longer exist, but I used to always stop by for their Hearts of Cherry after hiking around Mt Tam. Today I stopped by for whatever looked good enough to buy, which happened to be a pesto chicken calzone from the hot deli case, a slice of chocolate cake that looked too good to be $5, some roma tomatoes, and a blueberry banana water. The pesto chicken calzone had decent flavor, but it literally had like half a cup of grilled onions on it. Like, there was an entire opaque layer of grilled onion. Adding onions to compensate for less meat is one of the oldest Italian tricks in the book, and is the basis of many great recipes. In this case, it was a little much. Also, the crust didn't have any flavor, but for $10, for this area, it wasn't bad. The chocolate cake was the worst chocolate cake I've ever had in my life. It should have been labeled "iced biscotti," because that's about how dry it was. After a few bites, I had to double check to make sure I didn't accidentally grab an expired piece. It was so dry!! Okay, so, the cake was a mistake, but everything else was good. Their fresh deli pizzas looked AMAZING, but I did not take one home. Overall, the store is very clean, well lit, and merchandised nicely. My only issue is the twinkie sized stall in the ladies room, with a door that opens inward, trapping anyone who is greater than four inches in diameter between the toilet and the door. Sometimes you seriously have to wonder what kind of psychopath designed women's public restrooms. It's like, if you are larger than an actual Barbie doll, good luck getting in and out without touching the public toilet! So, I actually made two separate purchases. First, I purchased the calzone, and took it back to my car to eat. Noticing that I was surrounded by Teslas and eating disorders, I put up my sunshades so that I could eat in peace, without becoming a TikTok reel. After I finished eating, as I was lowering my sunshade, I caught the man parked next to me in the act of taking a video of me, anyway! My car is ugly enough to make a classist person assume that I'm a homeless person, which I'm sure is what happened in this case. Maybe he was planning to post it on social media as an example of how homeless people were ruining his life. When he saw a nicely dressed woman in a brand new, pretty dress (me) he looked shocked. I looked back and forth between him and his phone which was pointed at me, and glared. He lowered the phone and stared at me, wide eyed and jaw dropped, as if he wanted to explain. I glared at him as hard as I could. Classist rich people harass me like this all the time. As a formerly homeless person, I know that in reality, there's no such thing as "looking homeless." People who "look homeless" are usually housed and struggling with mental health issues, while homeless people who live in shelters are usually very well-groomed. But tell that to the classist rich person who thinks it's funny to take videos of other people and post them on the internet to mock them. I wish it was illegal to do that, but it's not. So if I'm posted on "homeless people of Marin" or something, that's what's up, even though I'm very much housed and employed. A calzone with a side of classism. Not the store's fault. But irritating none the less.

Sadly, only a few of the old time employees are left at this store (and they are wonderful as ever). The new employees are the exact opposite .. unfriendly, slow, clueless, incompetent (selling slimy old fish and meat at the meat counter!), and some are down right rude. Some don't speak English, which is a problem if you are supposed to offer competent service at the meat or deli counter. Some of the employees would benefit from some basic customer service training like the policy it was recently enacted at Target. I miss the olden days with a friendly chat at the checkout register. Now I won't even get an acknowledgement of my existence, eye contact or even a single word when I check out. Absolutely strange experience! The pharmacists are a mixed bag also. Some are wonderful and friendly (shoutout to the sweet pharmacist and the woman with dreadlocks), others extremely rude (talking about the young man that administered drop in Covid vaccines on 10/31). I have been shopping at this Safeway for almost 20 years. Sadly, this Safeway has gone downhill massively since the new owners have taken over and staffed it with the new employees.

The $14.99 sandwich was pre-cut and full of thick pieces of steak. There was a ton of arugula and pickled red onion. This was a very good homemade tasting sandwich of great quality. The market itself is pretty low key, very dense and small. It has everything you need but it doesn't have the produce that I would normally get at a Whole Foods or Good Earth. The service was good and it was very convenient to go to. We will definitely come back to get sandwiches here whenever we have a picnic nearby. It was convenient. The redwood park nearby did not disappoint.

I am breaking up with Whole Foods for good. This is my Dear…read moreJohn letter. I've been going to the East Blythedale Whole Foods since the day it opened. We had such happy times at first. I live two blocks away, so me and my partner are there enough that most employees know us by sight. I recently broke my right wrist and sprained my left shoulder (Actually on the broken sidewalk behind Whole Foods lol). I was at the self checkout, on the phone with my elderly mother. The employee on duty, a heavy, balding, late middle aged man with a grey goatee just stood there as I dropped an item (a bar of soap!) and watched me struggle to pick it up without so much as acknowledging my existence. I made a joking remark to my mother about it, paid and started to leave. Then he decided to start waving his arms and demanding I come back as if I'd robbed a bank. He was as loud and attention getting as he could be. He tells me to pay for my items. I look at the register and it said "Approved". I pointed this out to him and begin to leave. Instead of apologizing, he says loudly "I guess you're lucky!" That's when I knew it was over. Anyone who knows this store knows it's like an abusive relationship. They take you for granted, treat you like crap and just assume you will keep coming back. They don't make an effort to put it nicely. Well, I'm done. Ever since I met Good Earth, I've felt ashamed to keep returning to Whole Foods just out of convenience. I can't help but think his behavior was based on the fact that l have tattoos and facial piercings. Of course, they will still take my money. So that's it Whole Foods. The last straw. I'm leaving you for Good Earth and never looking back. I hope that if you decide to see them, that they will treat you better. But don't say I didn't warn you. Minus 10 stars, Karen C
