This is a pretty good option if you really like quality food and products. Fruits and vegetables are always at it's best and super fresh. Also sometimes you can find other products that aren't easy to find in this town so it's worth to come and browse some cool stuff! The deli offers varied food and a wing bar! It's pretty rad! Also every weekend specials are very moneysaving. The staff always greet you in a good mood. Oh! I love this store. The only complaints are 1) the produce is second rate and 2) the workers there (yesterday) were not wearing their masks properly. Why bother? I told the cashier that she needed to move her mask up to cover her nose and mouth, and she told me she didn't want to. I said "why bother then?" And was told that her manager required it. Hey manager, don't offend us older people by letting these younger people infect us. Either wear them right or just remove them. Don't let them make a mockery of a pandemic. I lived near a Safeway in Chandler(McQueen and Ray) and the customer service was top notch! If u couldn't find something they would offer to show u where it was or offered to bring the item to u if u wished. I was looking for an item here at the nogales location couldn't even find an employee to ask for help so I went to the customer service desk which surprised me cause it looks like an enclosed broom closet with a glass partition! When I asked employee in there her first response was that if not in the liquor area then they are out ! I showed where it stated on the app that there was some In stock. She called Someone to come help mr she a kid to come help me find it. While heading to the liquor section he tells me that's the guy that's works that Dept already left for the day.. (it was approx noon) so we might not find it. There was another employee at the liquor area and the kid asked him in Spanish where the item im looking for is and he responds in Spanish ... we don't have that in stock.. it never arrived on the truck! He then looks at me and tells me in English... we just sold like the last 2 10mins ago!! I just left there shaking my head !!! What a joke this location is !! read more

This Safeway has been in Nogales forever. It's one of the main grocery stores in the area. Because of its long standing status in Nogales, it should have the ability to offer drive up services to the area. Not only is it hip and modern, it provides a safe alternative during this covid 19 era. Also it will create a safer work environment and more jobs. I hope Nogales Safeway will make a rapid move towards implementing this service. read more

Safeway is my grocery store of choice whenever I'm in the area and need to stock up on snacks and healthy food options. I like their produce options, and it seems like there's a larger and higher quality variety each time I go. They've got pretty much any item I want while traveling. It can be slightly annoying that they seem to be stocking the shelves and have their carts blocking aisles when we're there to stock up on Monday afternoons, but at least then I know that the products are "fresh." As Jen mentioned, this is the place for Starbucks in Nogales. My caffeine-addicted coffee-snob coworkers love it. I stock up on cereal and Odwalla while they are at Starbucks since I'm a breakfast snob and can't handle the free breakfast at the local hotels. The prices are comparable to other grocery stores and decently cheap, particularly for organic produce. It's definitely worth the time to get a Safeway Club card in order to save a few more dollars. read more

When it comes to shopping I'd say it's alright but not with all their merchandise. The apples might look shiny, but are rotten. Always finding expired yogurt. But when it comes to employees fairness, oh my gosh. The store manager and some supervisors don't respect the hours of students that go to school. Instead of helping the employee because they are going to school, they walk over them. This is not a safe way, it's a two face people. Hypocrite Employees are the ones that make the store. Im a usual here prefer this to Walmart but I must say the Deli Dept. Customer service needs alot of work!!!! Anytime of the day you go the service is just not up to par when you approach the counter the ladies go to the back or turn their backs do not even acknowledge you are there and when they do get around to helping you they have the worst additude as if they were doing you a favor!!!! I went in this morning the lady saw me and continued to do what she was working on, I had to approach her and ask if their was someone attending the counter since she was busy and just answered me if you give me a moment I'll help you !!! ... Yes, I am a gringa. This Safeway location has Starbucks inside, and that Starbucks is the only one in Nogales. It has a bunch of seating, but I was the only one buying a drink. This Safeway has comparable products and prices to, say, the locations in Tucson. The only difference is more regional products in the bakery like triple berry flan and tres leches cake. Other than that, no difference. read more

I really like Safeway. They carry everything I need and I buy some slightly unusual foods like lactose free yogurt, cheese, and gluten free bread and crackers. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I have not had a problem getting help from anyone there. I am glad I can get what I need right here in Nogales. read more

The Starbucks here is horrible. Worst service I have ever received, and I have been to many Starbucks. They didn't know what drink the Cold Foam Iced Cappichino was (which is on their menu!!) An employee rolled his eyes and they gave me the wrong size after slow service. read more

Disappointing experience at the Nogales Safeway. I noticed a large number of fresh strawberries and tomatoes were rotting and spoiled. I thought I had looked over my purchases carefully before checking out, but upon arriving home I had to throw out most of the tomatoes and strawberries I had just purchased. Mushrooms were looking pretty sad too. I live an hour's drive away, so not worth going back to the store to complain. Why do they leave produce out that is clearly spoiled? read more
