I accepted the date and time they suggested over the phone. Upon arrival i was questioned as to why i was getting the shots that day. I advised that it was their suggestion of date and time. I was shown a clipboard showing i was the only one scheduled that day and told it was their busiest day of the year. They offered the flu shot then but suggested I reschedule RSV as it takes some 15 minutes or so to prepare . While awaiting the flu shot to be administered i was then advised my Medicare ID was invalid due to a hack of the govt site. I told them it had been accepted at GBMC , by my PCP and my Dermatologist in the past week. I left with no vax administered. I called Medicare and was advised the Card # i had for the past 15 years had not been hacked and was ok. This week they would not fill a script for two blood pressure meds because they don't carry them? These are both readily available and widely prescribed throughout the USA. CVS, Walgreens etc. This script was marked received successfully by the "My Pharmacy" app they recommend for their patients. See photo below. Only upon arrival did they advise they wont fill the scripts. Everyone there is very nice but my experience has caused to me to move to another Pharmacy. Proceed with caution.

Best of all, when I needed to speak to the pharmacist, I was connected almost immediately after speaking to a real person! The gift shop has high-quality items as well as the usual tchotchkes. I really like this place and have transferred all my Rx's to it.

During my most recent visit, I was clearly sick, holding a box of DayQuil/NyQuil while trying to pick up a prescription. Instead of asking how he could help, he immediately (and condescendingly) told me I'd need to purchase the medicine downstairs--assuming I wasn't there for a prescription at all. That kind of dismissive attitude is the last thing you want to deal with when you're already not feeling well. Customer service training feels long overdue. A pharmacy should be a place of care, not condescension. Thankfully, I've since found a local pharmacist just a few blocks away who takes my insurance and treats people with kindness. That's where I'll be going from now on.

I took a chance but I definitely have no regrets. I walked into the Ruxton Pharmacy this morning to pick up a prescription and to possibly refill another. What could have taken an hour at CVS took me 5 minutes at Ruxton Pharmacy. There was no one in line, the phones were not ringing off the hooks. The gentleman who helped me was kind and personable. Bonus points: The prices I paid were at least 25% cheaper than CVS or Walgreens. They also have an A-mazing greeting card selection which I will take advantage of the next time I return. This pharmacy cannot keep track of prescriptions, its automated system does not properly track…read morethem, and it is generally poor at communicating. Twice now, I have gone to pick up prescriptions and was asked to pay full price because the medication is "popular." I called my insurance company and learned that Charlesmeade Pharmacy never ran my insurance. The last time I went, I tried to explain that they had not run my insurance, but they insisted that I needed to pay full price. I asked why this had not been communicated to me beforehand, especially since I had spoken with someone on the phone earlier that day. They then attempted to bargain with me to pay less than the original amount they quoted. This seems absolutely wrong--they are refusing to run prescriptions through insurance and are instead negotiating prescription prices.

During the last six months the telephone system was screwed up. For each prescription I wanted to refill, I would use the phone to leave the script number and the recording would say it was incorrect and I had to speak with a staff member. It was an annoyance but tolerable. I was going there at least once a month and didn't know until my brother told me the pharmacy had permanently closed the day after I picked up my prescriptions. Why on earth didn't the pharmacist tell me that when I was there. Later I learned a lot of people in the community weren't told of the closing. Pretty low way to thank the people that patronized your establishment.
