GRIEVANCE PHONED INTO PACIFIC SOURCE ON 7/24/25 On 7/1/2025, Dr. sent a prescription for 1 albuterol inhaler. Safeway charged me a $24 copay, double what it should be. I asked them about it. They said the prescription is for one inhalation up to 6 times a day and said the prescription said it was for 33 days. What? They took the total inhalations (200) and divided it by 6 inhalations a day = 33 days, so 2 copays. What? I called pacific source, they left safeway a message, safetway said they didn't get it. Fix this. I have a copy of the prescription, it clearly says "Duration 30 days". i called pacfic source again, they called safeway, safeway refused to see the light. they refused to cooperate. read more

This place has gotten ridiculous. It isn't even necessarily this location's fault -- corporate sets the pricing and the sales and the individual stores have to go with it. That being said, Safeway's corporate office must think its customer base is a bunch of morons. They have a penchant for raising prices just so they can put items on sale. Case in point: Sweet Chili pistachios are normally sold for $3.99. Sometimes they go on sale for $3.49. That's when I usually buy them. However, for their "$5 Friday" they were on SALE for $5.00. How can they be on "sale" for a higher than usual price? They RAISED the price to $6.49 just so they could be on sale! You aren't fooling anyone, Safeway! You're just being a-holes. Another example is soda. Normal price on Pepsi 12-packs is $4.99. So I can buy 5 of these for just under $25 normally. Sometimes they go on a "Buy 3, Get 2 Free!" sale. Sounds like a good deal to me -- except that they RAISE the price of the 12-packs to $9.99! Yes, almost 10 bucks for a single 12-pack of soda! That way you can take advantage of their awesome "sale" by spending nearly $30 for 5 of the 12-packs when you could normally get them for CHEAPER WHEN THEY AREN'T ON "SALE." We aren't idiots, Safeway. Have some integrity. I'll spread the word about your douchebaggery with price swaps. There aren't other options in JC, but I'll just go into Eugene from now on and everyone else should too. read more

The counter staff are amazing and work hard, above and beyond for being coming in on their days off and working long hours. However.... when I have waited for a prescription antibiotic for over 5 days when on chemotherapy (which they know) and had the medication put priority 4 days ago and it is still not done. Not only that when I asked the pharmacist (who was the only one working, no counter staff today or at this time) politely why it wasn't ready yet. She went off about how she works long hours and are short staffed, and like freaked out on me about my question. I didn't Raise my voice once with her, but she did with me. So yes I know her job is hard...but I did not deserve to be treated like that. Then of course I got angry and told the other people in line that she was not in a good mood. read more

The one good thing about this grocery store is that it is on the way to my brother's house in Monroe. So I stop in here to pick up anything he needs on my way to his house. It's pretty much the same as any other Safeway out there. There is a Starbucks inside, although it's not considered an "official" Starbucks, so you can't use your registered card or any of the promotions Starbucks offers. I find this annoying, personally. It's staffed with Safeway employees, so their customer service level is a little lacking. I'm never a fan of Starbucks in grocery stores. Staff seems OK. I've never had a problem in here. Their customer service has always been good. They issue refunds and rain checks without a problem when they are needed. Do they go out of their way to help? No, I've never had a memorable experience here that stood out as either great or terrible. The prices are a little high, but I always think Safeway prices are high. That's nothing new there. But at least the store is clean, and the staff is friendly. Since I don't shop here with any consistency, I would usually only hit this kind of store if they had a good sale going on. But I usually get stuck paying full price since it's the only real grocery store in town, and I'm on my way to my brother's. Would I return here? Yes, but only because it's convenient. I just spent 12 bucks on deli asian food. It's not fit for human consumption. What are they (not) doing. I was starving not thinking straight I knew it looked old, dry and could even make me sick. One of our go to places for food on Friday night eight pieces of tasty chicken for five dollars Chinese food five dollars from the cold deli you can get sides mac salad call slaw or whatever else you can find. The staff they're very friendly and accommodating and will give samples of different foods as requested. We usually do not shop the rest of the store however, when we do there's a good selection of organic vegetables and specialty foods including kimchee Would we eat there again? Almost every Friday we pick up a bucket of chicken and a side or two enough food for two of us for lesson $10. What a deal! read more

This deli is well known for having lines and unfriendly workers. One worker named Dawn gets annoyed when helping customers and announces her breaks when there is a line of o full of patiently waiting customers. Rarely do you hear" we will be right with you."Or even a courtesty be right with you." The deli needs reorganized in a big way Multitasking is a key problem over there and I can't count how many times I have just walked away. Dawn focuses on doing dishes rather than helping customers and never looks sanitary enough to scoop up and food of choice. If the Deli was overhauled I believe it would make many patrons happy. read more

It's Safeway, it's pretty much the same as any other one I've been to. The staff is friendly, service can be a little slow, but it's often because conversations actually take place between staff and customer. No complaints from me there, if you're from 'town' you might not enjoy it though. The prices seem to be a little steep so I try to always hit here when there are sales. The gas station is nice, it's always a few cents cheaper than the rest of Junction City, especially with the discount. read more

The people are nice and down-to-earth. Yes, they get busy - it is a grocery store, after all. Overall they do a decent job maintaining a clean store and atmosphere. Don't even think about using their pharmacy. Go somewhere else, anywhere else. Fairly attractive cashiers and bakery personnel. They have a Starbucks located inside which is convenient. There is a Wells Fargo Bank located inside with very attractive tellers. read more

I visited from out of town yesterday. There were many customers without face coverings, and when the man behind me questioned the cashier she said "We can't enforce that, and many people have health issues and can't wear a mask." Management needs to step up and get OSHA compliant. read more

Pulled into the Safeway gas station, the attentent just walked by not saying a word. He comes back about 3 minutes later and tells me they can't fill a car with the cap on the far side away from the pump. I asked him why not as they have the long reach hoses. His reply was pretty rude "You have to move to the other side if you want gas". No problem here, so I moved to the other side of the pump right down the street at Conoco. This store really has gone downhill. They got rid of a hardworking older lady manager, then got rid of a hard working assistant manager. Replaced them with two people no one knows. I don't like the new people and the employees left in the store are unhappy. Lots of people have quit. Corporate doesn't care. This store has problems with the frozen foods being stocked promptly. I have often gone in and NOT found what I went in for stocked. Whoever does this makes a huge mess in the Vegan Section and the Frozen Potato section. It's like they don't care. Also the express lane is often full of people with full carts. A cashier named 'Erica' who works the self check out lanes is rude. Told me to look up my own codes. She is not helpful at all and does not belong there. My blood pressure goes up every time I go in there. Produce prices have gone through the roof. I had to go to Walmart today to get decent prices. Safeway you are going to lose customers that are not on SNAP because you are understaffed and your prices are too high. read more

This Safeway carries B-Free Bread, a multi-free allergen bread that is expensive but taste good and allows our family to eat bread. I have asked multiple times for them to carry more of it because it regularly is sold out. I was told to write my comments on a scrap piece of paper and give it to them. Nothing happened. So then I went on-line and tried again. Since then they have added another gluten free bread with lots of allergens, so now theres two varieties with multiple allergens and an even smaller area of the B-Free Bread. I received no response from anyone. The other breads sit there on the shelf and don't appear to be selling well, why the B-Free Bread is frequently sold out or only one loaf left. Other things about this store that are disturbing is I've seen employees bring over the managers to describe problems their having and the manager walks away from the employee while their still talking. If they show a lack of respect to their own employees they cant think much of us. High Prices ! Theres a Winco 15 minutes away from here, get twice as much groceries for the same price and for the most part your not compromising quality. Lots of the same brands. The bulk food is not low quality but high quality. Were fortunate to have so many options for shopping. read more

Prices are very high , but you can get what you need. The lines times are so long you could drive to Winco in Eugene get your stuff, save lots of money and get home about the same time. Junction City need another Super Market . Most Checkers are really nice and helpful but a few in the past where down right rude, but they get around to firing them so that's a good thing. read more

I've lived in Junction City for 15 years and do most of my shopping in Eugene, but occasionally stop in the JC Safeway for a few things. I stopped using the pharmacy about four years ago after having problems every time I filled a Rx, but the rest of the store was staffed with friendly, helpful people who had been there a long time. I don't know what happened in the last year or so, whether ownership changed, or there was some sort of corporate restructuring. The current staff are quite un-friendly, seem irritated if asked a question or for assistance. Today I noticed that a product I usually buy there because it's cheaper than where I shop in Eugene, was not on the shelf anymore. When I asked her if they'd stopped carrying Zevia soda she said "what's that?" Rather than offer to find someone who might know, she turned away from me, so I asked her if there was someone who might know. She shrugged and said "I don't know, maybe customer service?" The woman there had no idea either and when she asked a manager looking gentleman, he about bit her head off, saying it was a 'reset' seeming really annoyed. She looked at me and said "It's a reset". I asked her "what does that mean?" and she replied that it means they don't carry it because it wasn't selling well". None of the people I interacted with were the least bit friendly. I'm guessing they are terribly under staffed, making cuts in hours to save money on labor. Since there's no other grocery storein JC, they can get away with a 'we don't care we don't have to' attitude. I will never set foot in there again. read more

Can we do negative numbers? I have never in my life seen a Pharmacy have continuous terrible service like this one does. They lose rx's and I have had two separate occasions that the count was off. This has been the case for OVER two years!! I now drive into Sav On on Division. The continued competency is way worth the trip. read more

I'm mainly yelping about the Starbucks inside Safeway. I rated it 2 stars because they never have my drink-the teas. They are supposed to have them made everyday, but they never do, I've never run into this problem anywhere else. I've probably gone 7 times and they've had it once. I would rate it one star but the one time they had my drink it was so good! I wouldn't recommend going to this Starbucks however if you're looking for a new Starbucks drink you should try the pineapple infused tea! read more

Last year I had 9 teeth pulled prior to being fitted for dentures. I arrived with a mouth full of gauze and 3 prescriptions. There was one customer ahead of me. I purposely put my pain script on top and was told that it would be 2 hours! I left and went to Bi-Mart. With 10 people ahead of me, I got my meds in 20 mins. If it was possible to give no stars I would. It seems that everytime I go the pharmacy the service is worse and my expectations decline as well. Having a sick child, calling in the prescription and calling to verify they have received it and are filling it. Then to finally to get the counter after waiting in line behind 10+ people to hear it's not ready and the kicker. I asked when it would be ready "later today" so does that mean 20 minutes, 4 hours or? And the tech proceeds to walk away and call the next person up. There are more experiences of extreme rudeness and the employees openly talking about the customers. I will NEVER do business at this pharmacy again. Safeway Corporate keeps ruining this store for shoppers! They had a really hard working older lady manager, Kathy, who made shopping here a pleasure. She worked hard. What did Safeway Corporate do? Moved her abruptly to a dinky store 30 miles away. A demotion. The are also taking David, an assistant manager away from us. He is really good. Why? What is wrong with Safeway???? I want Kathy back and want David to stay. Doesn't Safeway care about the shoppers and how they enjoy shopping in a nice environment? Apparently Safeway Corporate doesn't care about customers. Or Employees. They brought in some younger good ol' boy guy and a new assistant manager that no one knows. This is terrible. There is a new Grocery store going in across the street. I hope all the shoppers and employees go there. I will. Disgusting company. Don't apply for a job at this store, it's obvious they chew up employees and spit them out no matter how good they are. I love the store itself and the employees, I know they work really hard and people don't appreciate what they go through but, the Chinese food in the deli is horrible!!! Save your money and go to Tin Tsing Restaurant. The gas station is also lacking, in speed and customer service. I'm not pleased at all with the customer service and I am very unsatisfied. The speed of the deli department is comparable to that of a snail. After taking numerous lunch trips to Safeway, I have become very aware that the higher authorities running the store do not care about the satisfaction of their customers. Every time I order a Chicken Chipotle wrap, it takes the employee at least 8-10 minutes for just one sandwich. It also comes with two chicken strips and the employees behind the counter insist we only get one. So when I ask for the second strip they proceed to find the absolute smallest piece of chicken they can find and apply it to the rest of my sandwich. Not only have I had this encounter multiple times, I have stood by and watched my friends and strangers receive similar treatment. I have been to other Safeway stores and received speedy service and the employees made sure I got what I payed for. The owner of this store clearly does not care about how it is ran. I would not recommend this particular Safeway to anyone read more
