This is set up just like every other Safeway out there. If you know one, you can grind your way around the others. This review is more about the deli. I dropped in to get a deli supper and decided on Chinese. Maybe not the best choice. Most of the options had been in there for some time, particularly the chow main. I realized this when I got back to my hotel. The coatings were falling off the entrees but they were still tasty. The chow main and egg rolls were hard enough that they were difficult to chew. I wish I had said something when I saw the employee scraping the steel container. Live and learn. The kid that was working there was solo and doing a good job of keep up and staying composed. Many would not when the line starts building. Shout to him for that. Otherwise I wish I had opted for a microwave dinner or Dominos across the street. read more

John the manager actually sucks lmao, terrible service and had an attitude with me when on the phone. Interrupted me the whole time I was trying to ask him a question! Genuinely I think he needs to be fired if he acts that way towards a customer. Extremely difficult to work with and absolutely disrespectful. On top of that, apparently if you don't have your physical card with you, but you have the numbers! They won't punch it in for you, asked why and all they could tell me was "good question". I came to get a gallon of milk! One item that I needed badly one item only!! It was 11:55pm when I was told by the door keeper nope! No entry! There was still 5 min before the store closed at least their posted hours say till midnight! The door keeper got on his walkie talkie and a woman I could hear said absolute NOT! what happened to customer service? Or how about following the posted closing time!! I get it they many people don't respect their closing time I however do understand when it's time to close it's time to close I had five minutes! Could have done it in less than 3 min I'm sure just a single gallon of milk was ALL I needed! I really hope someone from the store sees this and actually does something about this since I didn't come AFTER closing time one gallon of milk and five min till closed!! Safeway is great but no more app orders for me. Held hostage for an order you've paid for and can't cancel when they take three hours to get it out to you. Supposed to be an hour window and suddenly says three hours. I had plans after the usual hour window. Can't even pick a different time they hadn't even started my order. Make sure you don't have plans if your going to wait for an online order. Better to do your own shopping since there usually out of several items as well and they can pick lowsy produce ect. read more

if I could give a rating of "0" I would. Their website is difficult to log into and navigate. Items I ordered were often not available, were not ripe or spoiled. I purchased a full rack of baby back ribs that were cooked according to the instructions and they were tough and inedible. Minus totally disorganized and finally had to step in when a couple of late comers shoved their way to the front of the line. I used the delivery option for the first time to send a Thanksgiving dinner to an elderly shut in, although I ordered early, the day of delivery I was called and told they were out. Went to all the trouble to pick out some nice wines for my wife's birthday. As I was checking out I was informed that I needed my Drivers license to purchase alcohol but had left it in my car. Being handicapped I didn't have the time or energy to go out and come back in. Both the cashier and the manager were insistent (Rude) that their policy was unbreakable with this 70 year old senior citizen. Please allow your folks to use their COMMON SENCE. I stopped in to get a flu shot and was told I had to make an appointment on line. I returned home, went on line, made an appointment for Sunday, and received an email confirmation. When I arrived for the appointment I was told they are happy to take appointments for Sunday but they only give the shots Monday through Friday, and I needed to make a new appointment. I returned home, went on line and made an appointment for Monday afternoon. Again I received an email confirmation. When I arrived for my appointment I was told they are happy to accept appointments for the afternoons but they only give shots from 9-11 am. Why would anyone trust these people to get fill their prescription correctly? It also shows a total lack of integrity to accept appointments that they have no intention of fulfilling. read more

I went to the Deli to see if they were going to put out a Spinach Salad out that I have regularly purchased from other Safeway's. Today May 14th at 11:30am. There were 3 ladies talking and had zero interest to help me. There were very few salads left, and they said that is it for the day. I shopped there quite a bit, but will no longer. For a long time we had held the produce department in high regards as the best in town. But for the past year or so , the quality has gone down and the cleanliness of the shelves today was deplorable. Out of three cabbages the net weight of one was unusable and what was left that was usable was only 2. We had to toss out the brown cores that had rotted, and was visibly related to the base sitting in filth on the shelf. The amount of slime that had built up was disgusting and thick on the shelves in fresh produce area. It appeared to be growing like a pond scum. I went to the fresh beets which appeared like they had gone through a rough day at a rock quarry, also sitting in slime. I went to the organic beets and had to pass due to the scummy slime they were sitting in. Produce does not come this way from the distributors. The ginger we got was brown through and through, which was very bitter and unusable. I was appalled at the condition of the shelves for the fresh produce. My only hope is that no one gets sick from whatever is growing under those veggies. I would equate this condition to a lack of workmanship and due diligence in performing the work necessary to run a produce department. read more

So we used the self-check as we regularly do and my husband asked the clerk who was obviously sick to do a quantity since we had 10 of the same item. She refused said she couldn't as it wasn't available. Hello! We have shopped with Safeway for years and they always do it. When he told her this, she said no and walked away. I said it's a good thing, maybe we won't get sick from her. She then went on to tell another clerk she takes nighttime cold medicine during the day since she has ADD and it does't affect her. Went in this morning for donuts at 5:45 as my wife had a craving for a chocolate old fashion. I get halfway to the donuts and this young gal says "Hey stop, we're not open!" I said what do you mean? She says "We don't open 'till 6 o'clock" I asked when did that happen, you used to be open 24 hours? The little brat says "We we're NEVER open 24 hours!, can I escort you out?" When we get to the door she says "We'll see you in 15 minutes". I replied No, no you won't. That store can kiss my butt. On the way home I stopped at Wal Mart to get my wife the next best thing, a couple chocolate covered cake donuts, and mentioned this to the checker. I received exceptional service from the folks at the checkout as well as the deli, the dairy department and the bakery. I have many options in the area and happily choose our Safeway to shop. The environment is extremely clean, bathrooms are clean when I am there and as a nurse I feel very safe shopping for my items here. read more
