I was honestly quite surprised by how distinct each mock meat was. We got the: - BBQ Chicken Drumsticks: The drumsticks were thick, smoky, and slightly stringy- definitely reminiscent of real chicken. The sauce was on the sweeter side, but still tasty. - Teppan Tofu Bibimpak: Came out sizzling! The tofu was crispy on the outside, almost custard-like on the inside. The sauce was savory goodness. - Black Pepper Steak Udon: Steak was nicely chewy, udon well-cooked, strong pepper essence. - Truffle Fried Rice: Crazy enough, this might be the best fried rice I've ever eaten. Such a unique combination of ingredients including black truffle, avocado, pine nuts, chestnut, mushroom, and green beans. Cool presentation too. - BBQ Pork Fried Rice: Right amount of sweetness with good wok hei. - Tempura Shrimp Roll: Tasted classic, liked that it had fried enoki mushroom in addition to mock shrimp. Ambiance is casual and spacious, lots of parking up front. Service is fast and friendly. To note, they have an automatic 18% service charge. Also, if you spend $30 in one transaction, you get $10 VG cash for next time (no minimum purchase necessary, expires within 10 days). Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try other dishes if it was a bit closer to my house. 10/10 would recommend!

Restaurant is very spacious and decor is traditional but overall warm and welcoming. Rashad waited on us and he was wonderful. Warm and engaged he was always available and efficient. We started with drinks and a shared the crab and spinach dip and someone tried the gumbo. Yumm!! For entrees we had several different items from a fried platter, naked salmon, baked trout and blackened catfish. Portions were generous, food well seasoned and everything delicious!! We opted out of dessert because we brought our own celebration cake, but the ones I saw at other tables looked pretty good. Overall a great dining experience!!

When we were finally seated, they split us between two separate tables and told us it was policy that they couldn't push the tables together. We were definitely a little disappointed, but we didn't let it ruin the night. I will say our servers were very nice and friendly throughout the experience. The biggest issue was the wait for the food. Half of our group got their meals, and then it took forever for the other table to finally get theirs, which made things awkward. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre overall. I had the fried shrimp and chicken, which was decent, but honestly I enjoyed the chicken more than the shrimp. One of my friends ordered the Cajun pasta and it lacked A LOT of flavor, definitely needed some salt and seasoning. The place was pretty and clean. I did like their outdoor courtyard to just wait and hang out. It wasn't a terrible experience by any means, but it also wasn't impressive enough for me to really want to come back.

We got: - Chicken Satay: The chicken itself was so believable, stringy and smoky! And crunchy (though I'm used to satay meat being grilled). The sauce was tasty too- peanut-y, sweet, hint of curry. However, for $8, I'd expect at least 4 skewers. - Shrimp Chow Kway Teow: CKT is one of my favorite noodle dishes ever, and Mamak's version certainly did it justice. The wok hei was so present, the noodles perfectly chewy, and the veggies (snow pea, onion, carrot, bean sprouts) well-cooked. The shrimp was insane, so bouncy and real-feeling. - Olive Fried Rice: Can't say I've ever had olive leaves before, this dish was delightful! Lots of great toppings (tofu, carrot, green bean, mushroom) that gave some textural diversity. - Black Pepper Beef: The black pepper essence was clearly distinguishable, but the sauce was too sweet for me. The beef was truly reminiscent of the actual thing. Lots of tasty veggies again (cauliflower, celery, jicama, carrot, bell pepper). Overall, taste-wise, all of the dishes were great; however, we did not feel portion sizes matched prices. Service could also stand to improve, with regards to attentiveness. To note, the restaurant is self-seating (I wish there was something that said this at the entrance). You can pay the bill via QR code, but there's a platform fee (I wonder if you could avoid that if you pay physically). Lots of parking available. 9/10 would recommend!

Service is also great. They are patient and willing to answer your questions and make modifications where possible. Their restroom is also nice and clean. They have 2 stalls in the womens bathroom. My most recent trip, I got the BBQ sticks, avocado smoothie, kale & quinoa salad which were all very good and an order of black forest cake to go.
