We found this place on our last night. I wish we would have known sooner. Had about four different dishes all were tasty. Stuffed eggplant, butter paneer, chicken biriyani samosas . Brightly decorated and clean environment. Friendly staff. We were shocked by the bill the low cost compared to today's standards of eating out was a great surprise. And the portions were not small. Wish I had one in my neighborhood.

I ordered from Urban district for the first time because I was craving Indian food, and I'm honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. Every dish I ordered was flavorful and well-seasoned. I tried the masala dosa, chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, and bullet naan. The dosa had a delicious seasoning with potatoes, which I liked. The chicken tikka masala was rich and satisfying, and both types of naan were fresh and tasty. The food also seemed a bit more seasoned / slightly saltier than the usual Indian takeout I order, but it paired perfectly with the naan and rice. Everything arrived well-packaged. The only hiccup was that one of the menu items I ordered on DoorDash didn't show up on the receipt even though it appeared on the app. Thankfully it wasn't a big issue as we had plenty of food. Overall, I'm really impressed and will definitely be ordering again. This might just become my new go-to spot for Indian food!

Wow 10000/10 will be back & will be telling everyone I know about this place. Stopped in on a whim about 30 min before they closed and not familiar with this area too much - i live about 20 mins away. They took my order over the phone and were super nice. The service when we arrived was warm, inviting and overall just a business you'd want to continue supporting just based off of the service. Got the food to go & ate it like 30 mins later.... oh my god we are in love. My boyfriend ate his entire order in like 3 minutes lol. Thank you so much for your kind service & amazing food! We will be back probably every week

Food taste has improved. Chicken Tikka and Biryani were both quite delicious. Spice level in garlic naan was way too much and could barely eat it. They need to ask if extra chili should be used or not as it ruins the taste.

We went back to try the weekend buffet. They have the largest selection I've had. They didn't have tikka masala that is so common but they had plenty of everything else. Veg and non veg and goat curry and two fish dishes. I didn't get a pic but they have soup, juice and masala tea. Pics start with number one on the left.

The food was so delicious coming out of the kitchen. Service was good until they had a couple more customers. They seemed to forget about us and didn't bring part of our meal out. They were very considerate our request for non dairy items, then served us a drink with milk and yogurt. It was fine because it was an honest mistake. Everything we ate was so flavorful and smelled amazing. The place looks very urban, they have a pastry counter. It was mid week and probably weren't staffed for the last minute rush they had and the end of the night. I would go again.

Amazing food and fantastic service! Every dish was bursting with fresh, authentic flavor, and the staff made us feel so welcome. A must-try!

I thought this place was great and now they upped it with a great happy hour and pizza, which I have yet to try. Seriously bold and bright flavors with great service and a great atmosphere. I suspect they will be hopping when the mega apartment next-door opens.

This is a family-owned Indian restaurant and you can truly taste the care in the food. The chicken masala and butter chicken were both incredibly flavorful, rich, well-balanced, and comforting without being heavy. Paired with fresh, warm naan, we were honestly in heaven. We ordered everything at a medium spice level and it was absolutely perfect, flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and exactly what we needed after a long travel day. We will absolutely be back next time we're in Phoenix!

I forgot to take a picture of the palak paneer but the aloo tikka was incredible and there is a picture of that as well as the menu. The vegetable samosa was excellent with hearty bits of peas and chunks of potato in it and the sauces that went with it were both equally delicious. I also order some stuff to go . Their goat Byrani is terrific and the raita was spot on . A little light on the flavor spices but still pretty tasty. Same with the palak paneer could have been a little more with the garam masala flavor but otherwise it was still good and worth the price. I'd definitely go again

I motored over to Scottsdale, effortlessly secured a convenient parking space directly on the street, and set out to explore. While strolling, my eye was captured by an intimate, delightfully boutique establishment bearing the name The India. Upon crossing the threshold, I noted a wonderfully serene dining room with just a few select patrons, and the air was absolutely thick with the most intoxicating, magnificent aroma of exotic spices. A thoroughly charming gentleman of native Indian heritage, I deduced promptly extended a remarkably warm and dutiful greeting before escorting me to an excellent, highly comfortable table. To begin my afternoon refreshment, I requested a traditional Madras coffee from the menu. Within mere moments, it was elegantly presented to my table. I must be entirely candid: the flavor profile possesses a rich, authentic depth that renders standard establishments like Starbucks completely pedestrian. It was deeply satisfying. For my main luncheon course, I proceeded to order a personal favorite and the true crown jewel of the menu: the Chicken Dum Biryani. While I possess a great deal of experience with fine Indian cuisine, the execution of the Chicken Dum Biryani at this establishment is an absolute masterpiece. The layers of flavor were perfectly balanced, the poultry remarkably tender, and the entire dish was utterly addictive a total treat to the palate. The seamless combination of elite hospitality, intimate charm, and flawless culinary skill made for a magnificent afternoon. I am entirely enamored with this rare gem and shall most certainly be returning for future midday refreshments

Had a great experience here during spring Restaurant Week 2026! Came in with a group of friends and…read morewe actually forgoed the RW menu since the entire table would have to do it and not everyone wanted the items off there. We started with drinks, my friends had the mango lassi and chai while I had a Rumana cocktail. Both of the other drinks were so yummy but not exactly what I'd drink with dinner, my Rumana was super tasty and very strong! Our table started out with the hamachi crudo - crudo is one of my absolute favorite dishes so I was very happy to have this as an app, the sauce the fish was in was so good I almost licked the plate clean. For the main dishes, we had kashmiri lamb rogan josh, pork ribs vindaloo, home style butter chicken, chicken dum biryani, and a lot of garlic naan. I can't say enough good stuff about the food here, they really elevate Indian food and it feels very authentic. We ate up everything, I think we had one small take out box and that was it. We couldn't sleep on dessert though, we ordered one of each of their 3 options - piña colada, chai & biskoot, and phirni - I think the overall fave was the chai dessert but the others were close contenders. Overall I'd 100% try this place again and had a great time trying dishes I normally wouldn't since I'm so committed to tikka masala and butter chicken. The vibes are so lovely, this is a beautiful spot for date night, I would definitely make a reservation though.

The only question for me is: how far is too far? Much like their overly complicated cocktail menu, some of the creative dishes and desserts don't always land. The chai biskoot and piña colada dessert left me wondering why perfect Indian desserts needed to be reinvented. That said, I keep going back for the more lucknowi style biryani, butter chicken, and laccha parathas. The service is prompt-ish, and the ambiance is quaint and cozy (maybe a little too cozy) with quite a few tables packed into a small space. Still, it's a much nicer dining atmosphere than most other Indian restaurants in the area. Overall, it's a solid 3/5 experience for me but with the $$$ price tag
