This place has really good food and great customer service. I saw who I believe was the owner sitting T a guests table throughly explaining the menu since they were not familiar with Indian food. She made reccs and they went with it. The host Sierra was very attentive although she was the only host/server and she made recommendations which sounds like what a restaurant should do, but you don't get that a lot these days. We had the samosa, the paneer (spinach and cheese) and the coconut curry with veggies and lamb added. We also had the garlic naan (a flat bread) and a mango lassie (Indian yogurt drink). Nothing disappointed and me being such a food/flavor critic this place hit the spot. I cook myself having. A middle eastern and west African background and this place didn't miss. We have been here a few times, and can't wait to return even though it's a 30 minute drive from home. What we love... The food is delicious. The owner/chef is an excellent cook. The hospitality is superior. The owners staff is extremely curtesy's and the owners wife checks in on you to have a friendly chat. Food prices are extremely reasonable. It's a cozy little place but the seats are wide and sturdy enough to hold wide and large bodies like mine. There is plenty of space to move between tables so no fear there. Now to the food! We started with disappointing news that they had run out of Samosas, one of the items we wanted to taste. Oh well, this was the only disappointment of the night. We ordered Butter Chicken, Hakka Noodles, Chicken Saffron Briyani and Chicken Tikka Masala. Everything was delicious and didn't disappoint. The sauces were so smooth and full of taste! I've just recently discovered Indian food and so far this has been my favorite place! Super cute, family owned and operated, little hidden Gem. The food was fantastic, customer service was great, and we really enjoyed our selves all around. We started with the crispy on the outside, soft on the inside SAMOSA's. It came with tamarind and mint chutney they complimented them perfectly. My son got the children's orange chicken and it was very good and the portion was really big for a kids dish. My brother had the Butter Chicken and I had the Chicken Coconut Curry. Both were velvety smooth, full of flavor, chicken was tender and juicy. We paired everything with their Garlic Naan and rice. I ordered through Uber Eats. It came quickly, and was plenty warm enough. The butter chicken was delicious, as was the Naan, and the rice was perfect, and such a huge amount! I stuffed on delicious Naan and rice! For a medium, the chicken was a little too spicy for me. I called the restaurant, and they told me to come eat again, and the now mild butter chicken would be on them. Had dinner at Saffron last night. I've been there many times before, but this time I brought 4 Indian food newbies for a birthday dinner. The restaurant was packed, but we got a table immediately. We were told that there was only one waitress working and that it could be a little wait for our food. We appreciated the information up front, sat down and enjoyed some drinks. We didn't end up waiting too long. The food was INCREDIBLE! We tried a wide variety of dishes (for the newbies) and each of them delivered. My friends loved it! We had a visit from the owner - who is incredibly lovely. She sat and talked with us for a while and even gave the birthday girl a sweet treat on the house! I ordered samosas, chicken tikka masala, hakka noodles with chicken and vegetables, garlic naan, and gulub jamun. The sauces that come with the samosas are fantastic. I weirdly love cold samosas, so gonna be stocking up on these for sure! Everything was really good but my favorite so far was probably the hakka noodles. And the samosas. And you gotta love a good, soft, garlicky naan. Their gulub jamun isn't perfume-y like some I've had, or too sweet. I thought it might even have a faint orange flavor. Very nice. 10/10 never disappointed. I've been here twice now and both times I was pleasantly surprised. The first time I got the chicken tikka masala and it was amazing. Ordered the tikka masala which was $10, but they charged me $3 extra to add chicken and $2 for rice? First and foremost, who up-charges for protein, considering there is no tikka masala without protein or veggies. On top of that the rice was extra, to which I say no one eats tikka masala without rice or naan. They literally take advantage of the fact and basically charge $10 just for the tikka masala sauce considering it doesn't include any protein nor rice or bread. We didn't want to wait for an hour so I pulled up Yelp and did a quick search for Indian food nearby. 2 miles away was the Saffron Indian Bistro and it had better reviews, and more reviews, then our usual place. It did not disappoint! Great food! Great service! We had Coconut chicken curry, Jasmin rice and delicious garlic nan. We found our new place and highly recommend it!! Excellent eating experience.. we were greeted as soon as we entered by the owner (at that time I was not aware that she was the owner). Am very particular about bathrooms in restaurants. The restuarant was clean & most importantly, their bathroom was super clean. Food arrived hot and in good time. The menu contains a good number of specialities which are a cut above the normal menu offerings. I tried one of these and it was delicious. First time to eat Pani puri! (Right!) first time to see interior decoration with alphabets written in Hindustani! Loved it so much that I had to take captures Loved the food, the best place in town! I'm usually not one to write bad reviews, but I found this place to be a total waste of money and time. When I checked the menu online, it said the butter masala was 12 bucks. I thought the chicken would be included, but the chicken added another 6 dollars, coming out to 18 dollars total per order. At that price I would've expected a meal, but it didn't even come with rice or anything. I got there to order food to go, and asked for two orders of butter chicken and a sprite. I was a bit shocked to see the total come out to be 56 dollars, but I paid it nonetheless thinking maybe they gave out decent portions. I was NOT expecting them to give me 2 tiny containers of what was essentially seasoned tomato sauce with 4 pieces of chicken as a meal. It tasted nothing like the butter chicken I've had before. I was severely shocked and DISAPPOINTED as I didn't realize there wouldn't even be enough food to feed a single person. I also ordered a SINGLE sprite, but the cashier managed to give me two lukewarm kids sized cups of sprite for 3 dollars each. There were no prices stated on the menu in the restaurant, and this place had pretty good reviews so I thought they would've priced these things fairly. I didn't even want to question why it was so expensive for such mediocre food, but I felt too embarrassed and robbed to go back and say anything. I still don't know how that total came out to a whopping 56 dollars. I tried adding the total at home based on what I saw on the online menu and it should've been around 40 dollars. Discovered a new favorite Indian Restaurant, family run with some really great food. Saffron has a great selection of all the traditional Indian food made fresh upon order. I discovered this place thanks to Yelp and the reviews but also check out the Phoenix Best New Restaurant write up too. I got to Saffron late on a Saturday night and found this place packed, so i decided to get take out. I had a great conversation with the chef's wife who was very helpful with the menu and I could tell that she and her husband takes pride in their service and food. I had the Lamb Vindaloo, shrimp biryani and channa masala. Accompanied by a selection of traditional breads, this was enough for 3 meals! All the food was fantastic, plenty of portioned and packed well for take out. I drool when I think of Saffron India Bistro. The owner is pleasant and present. The small dining area is clean and simple. Food is phenomenally flavorful and bursting with spices, tailored to your spice level of request. Meat (chicken in particular) melts in your mouth. To Go & Dine-in are both top-notch. I haven't been to many Indian Bistros but when this new tiny one opened near the Asiana Market we decided to check it out. We started with Shami Kabab, They were Chicken Lentil Croquettes that were tasty and came with a terrific mint chutney. We shared Chicken Vindaloo and Chana Masala (chickpea stew). The Vindaloo was spicy with a building heat and the Chicken in was extremely tender and moist. The chickpea stew was tasty. We also shared rice and Naan. The Naan seemed like it was made fresh to order. The portions were very large and we had enough food for 4 meals. I note I don't eat Indian Food Often so I don't know how the food stacks up to other Indian Bistros but based on the quality of the Chicken preparation and the Value I feel they are deserving of four stars and are worth a try when your in the area. This was the first time for me EVER, trying out Indian food. So this is a big deal!!! I'm really happy with the choice I made to come to Saffron for my first time. I came during the lunch time, so I was given the lunch menu which has a lot of lunch specials; however, you are able to request the full sized menu to see more options. So, I decided to order the Coconut Curry with vegetables and at a medium spice level. I'm a spice lover, and this was not spicy at all but the taste of the curry was good. I did expect it to be sweeter kind of curry but it was not. I also ordered the Malai Kofta with Paneer, a tomato based creamy curry that was really delicious! Can't forget the Garlic Naan and some rice on the side. Although, the rice was not exactly the typical Basmati rice it was still good and goes well with all the curries. We ended our meal with a Mango Lassi, a mango yogurt smoothie that was really tasty, it's more of a yogurt base so if you like yogurt this would be a good pick. Chicken Jalfrezi is a favorite of mine. I was happy to try Saffron's take out and I am pleased to give it rave reviews! Red and green peppers and onions help make this entree amazing. I would have appreciated smaller knife cuts for the peppers and onions but that might have diminished the flavor. Because I ordered takeout, I was impressed with the packaging. Our first visit to Saffron Authentic Indian Bistro was soo good! We chose Butter Chicken, Paneer Coconut Curry added vegetables, large rice, Garlic Naan & Plain Naan. The portions were large and priced comparable to other Indian restaurants for dinner service. The restaurant was clean and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.
