One thing to note is that all children (and accompanying adults entering the play area, if applicable) must wear the facility's grip socks, which are available for purchase. The playground it's always clean and has bathrooms. The park has Basketball courts, tables , chess and even hand bars. The park is also good for babies as there are baby swings. This park is not the best park for large dogs since there are a lot of kids running around. I would say if you keep walking down to Bronx park east there is another field with lots of space to walk around for larger dogs or even small dogs. There is a baseball field but it's a wide large park.

the wonderful times and memories of zimmermans playground for me , siblings , friends ,warrants 5…read morestars as it was ours playground growing up in the bronx on olinville ave . many old timers called it the concrete square as it was square shaped with different sections with the basketball courts , swing set area , the slides , checker tables and the many benches to sit and shoot the breeze with friends and neighbors . the playground is named after abe zimmerman who owned the corner candy store on olinville and allerton ave , he was a holocaust survivor and would educate us kids about the permanent numbers across his arm . after school and on the weekends the playground was our hangout regardless of the weather . i was not much of a basketball player but the swings was my thrill and i would go fairly high swinging back and forth until i needed a rest . back in the day there was no curfew and playground was open 24/7 and the playground was well maintained and kept clean and safe . as the mid 80s came and the crack horror era arrived the playground was not a place for kids and even though i moved away i would still visit my old hood and was shocked what a dangerous mess the playground turned into . as time passed the crack and crack heads were gone and the playground went thru a major makeover for the better and now the kids and families are back just like the good old days . i will always cherish the memories of zimmermans playground and i am not the only one .

It wasn't much, but considering we were there 20 minutes earlier as described, I felt the employees disregarded our time and the others who were on time, for the sake of one late family. The other family should have waited for either the next session or joined the group after everyone had been through the safety instructions since they weren't on time.

The celebration kicks off with an exciting 30-minute session of play on our Adventure Playground (Open to a limited number of the Public), where the birthday child and their friends can explore, climb, and play together. Once the energy is running high, we'll transition to our turf field (Private to you) for 30 minutes of engaging fun field games, run by your 2 party pros that will keep everyone entertained. The final 30 minutes is in your Party Room for pizza and cake $549 - 15 Party Guests 2nd Complaint: They have a Happy Birthday board which excluded my childs name throughout her whole party! It wasnt until the end of the party that I was informed by party members that her name was never on the board. I believe a staff member overheard us talking since 20mins later there it was. We had the 1st party slot. There was no reason her name was excluded on that day. It didn't matter to me much at the time since the kids are playing and not paying attention and i was so stressed out by other thing to notice BUT it is a big deal! 3rd compliant: The owner mentioned that they will provide veggie sticks, water and apple juice + 2 pizza pies within their package. At no point was anyone informed that these items would come in pitchers! If I knew this, then I would ahve purchased my own bottle water. I wasnt expecting the big bottle water but even the minis would be nice. The last party place we had provided these items so I was surprised it was not mentioned more clearly. So since I kept asking for water, they provided water bottles - which I thought was included and ended up being charged ADDITIONAL for it after the party. No call, no text no explanation just an additional charge to my card for water. RIDICULOUS 4th complaint: The play area ( even when in one side of the playplace) is SOOO big that the poor staff member tried to gather the kids for a game. THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE! No child is going to stop playing to hear instructions on a game when there are 5 million other things going on. Plus trying to keep the party together was impossible. The entrance, layout and overall experience was chaotic and unorganized. The list goes on. Not worth the cost.

On sunny days the shaded spots close to the pool are taken early, but it has a lot of seating space, even if they aren't right next to the pool. There's a food stall with hot dogs and that kind of stuff. You can bring your own food, but no alcohol or glass containers of any kind. Bathrooms are big and they have changing areas. The pool itself is one huge rectangle that goes from kiddie area( 2') to deep area (11'). On the deep side there are about 4-5 lanes setup for people that want to do laps. They have a separate small kids area with water slide and splash area. You can get a discount entrance if you have the westchester park pass. You can also buy a summer pool pass if you are going frequently. Lots of families at the pool, but def plenty of space to spread out in the huge pool.
