Crystal Sands Beach resort was able to accommodate a girls weekend (17 girls) easily. The beach house apartments provided plenty of room, gorgeous views, full kitchen and an open floor plan. The Villa's are equipped with full kitchens, bedrooms, and open floor plans in general living areas. The Suite's were open floor plans with refrigerators and coffeemakers. The property and beach were well kept and grounds crews seemed to make regular rounds to ensure cleanliness. The resort is on the beach and has a gorgeous beach area. There were many families and children enjoying their swimming, kayaking, and bulldog sand castles. At night the resort set up chairs and multiple fire pits on the beach for guests and kept the wood coming and fires going! The resort also came equipped with regular housekeeping which included daily garbage changes, cleaning, and towel replacement. The resort is handicap accessible with an ADA Suite and handicap beach access. My travel companion is wheelchair bound and we had no problems getting around. The beach house steps were wide enough to get a wheelchair bound person up and down and all staff and owners were quick to offer assistance when we took the wheelchair and occupant of wheelchair up and down the steps. I've stayed in many (most) locations in that area on the beach and this is by far the best. We can't wait to go back for our annual girls weekend next year! I can't say enough about the location or the amazing staff/owners of the resort. They truly work hard (while making it appear effortless) to ensure everyone is having a great time. It was her first time there so we didn't know our way around. My wife had a conference her Business was putting on and so we brought a lot of things with us. We had to decorate a suite for over 30 visitors staying with us. The house cleaning staff was perfection. They made us feel very welcome. They were kind. They went out of their way to be sure to ask if we needed anything at all. That was great service. Rooms were comfortable and clean. But I don't think they were worth $350. Especially with the construction happening. It felt like we were losing a bit of the experience. Even the gift shop was closed. It was interesting to me because we are coming to see Rod Stewart in September. It was a preview to us and how things might be. I understand construction can take time and it's necessary. But nobody should pay a premium and get half of the experience. The casino was beautiful, but confusing. And confusing is not a good way to gamble your money.

While everything looks quite dated - it was all VERY clean. I was honestly surprised at how clean our room, especially the bathroom, was. Our room had a mini fridge and microwave - not always standard. Beds were comfy and big fluffy pillows. The vanity is outside the door from the toilet/shower which is nice, but counter is SUPER short - I had to kneel to do my skincare. Carpet seemed clean, as did all the other items in the room. Plenty of towels, too. Honestly, I can't say anything negative. While it is old, it appears well taken care of. I did not interact with any staff, so can't say anything there. Overall, we'd be back!

The second time I called, I ASKED to speak to a manager and was switched over, so of course she didn't hear the laughter or giggling I heard. The trip started off fairly well, until around dinner time! We waited over an hour and 15 minutes for dinner after the automated system said 20-40 minutes. When I did call, I was met with laughter on the other line and was told, "we're understaffed - but are you the room that ordered all the beer?" "Nope. Definitely not. We have kids in tow and we do not drink. Me and my family are STILL waiting for food..." To which she laughed again, said they were understaffed and claimed the young lady hauling food was on the floor and would be "right there". 15 minutes later, I called again and they removed the food from our bill - which I appreciated, but also hated having to ask for - AGAIN. Also, asking me about an 'order' because the staff was already taking too long seemed borderline inappropriate. That being said, my kiddos are both 7, one chose this waterpark as her birthday venue, and everyone had a fun time. (It's a tad frustrating that check-in is so late and in order to get INTO the water park, with the most slides that is, you had to pay extra. So, anyone who pays for just the park gets in earlier technically. Which again, is a tad annoying. You pay more to stay and then pay even more to play. But this past weekend was bad and we felt it was time to update our review to reflect what is happening now. From the second you walk into their lobby, throughout the hallways, seeping into the rooms, and even penetrating the waterpark areas, all you can smell is that legalized recreational product (I'm sure you can guess what I'm talking about). It's disgusting, lingering scent persisting everywhere. It clings onto your clothing, suitcase, EVERYTHING. And if you get a room that was previously occupied by guests who partake in that, it reeks of it for your whole stay! Adding to this, you can continuously find bandaids, hair and hair extensions floating in the water and lying around on the ground. Many children/teens are running wild (being very disrespectful) with no adult in sight. This place has lost its charm for us and it truly is sad. This was a vacation we looked forward to annually with our children and have created so many beautiful memories but sadly, it no longer does and then to add the price continuously increasing (which we knew would happen). If the smell of recreational products, filthy areas, and disrespectful guests is your vibe, then this is the place for you. What once used to be our favorite has sadly shifted over the last few years.

When I say big, the kitchen and living area are HUGE! We look forward to visiting this resort again.
