I didn't know what to expect as I've never had an acupuncture treatment before, but now I can't imagine living without this as a regular part of my wellness and self care. First interacted with Sage in IG, they were always super responsive. When I finally came in, from the first consultation to now it's just been an incredible experience. All of the staff are so friendly and caring, but Dr. Erika is truly someone special. I've felt so cared for and have seen immediate improvement for a handful of health issues that traditional medicine hasn't been able to help for years. The two biggest areas have been sleep and plantar fasciitis. When I started just a few weeks ago, I was getting only 2-3 hours of sleep a night, I've been working with a sleep doctor for over a year. After the first session, I've been getting close to 4 hours of sleep. And now I'm over 5 hours in just a couple weeks. Incredible. My plantar fasciitis has been so bad this whole year, and after the first session I almost didn't realize it had nearly gone away by the second session. We're still treating this, but I was able to walk around Six Flags all day without any major issues, before I would have been crippled the next day. I'm just blown away. I came here for some body pain I was experiencing but I was a bit underwhelmed with my experience. I understood acupuncture/massage/cupping were offered and I was open to any treatment to help with my ailments. Elaine spoke with me for maybe about 15 minutes about my issues and then put about ten or so acupuncture needles in me. She then left me to lie there for about 25 minutes. She came back and removed the needles and then gave me a massage for about 10-15 minutes. The massage was actually very nice. She has nice hands and a nice touch. I would have much preferred just the massage for the entire session. She then talked with me for about another ten minutes. The session was $155 because it was the first session. Then subsequent sessions are $105. Unfortunately I felt no benefit or improvement from the session. Maybe acupuncture just isn't for me. read more

Honestly this place is THE best in terms of getting a massage that is completely tailored to your needs. To begin with the atmosphere/vibe is tranquil and relaxing. The owner Elaine exudes such a welcoming form of energy and is very easy to talk to. Vanessa is also a wonderful person. She is the essence of Zen. Each time I have been here has been so amazing because these ladies truly want you to feel relaxed and healed after their sessions. The only disclaimer to this is I've only been to one acupuncturist and this one is it. That being said, I haven't needed to try anywhere else because Elaine is the bomb! In a good way, not in a "you're going to explode" kinda way. I'll be honest I had absolutely no belief in any of this beforehand. I was a doubter. My neck was hurting something awful and medication and chiropractors weren't working I was desperate to try anything. Letty (the wife) suggested acupuncture and I was like, "alright". The pain was pretty unbearable, what could sticking a couple of needles in me make any worse? Set an appointment with Elaine, showed up, and kept an open mind. Well, as open as my mind can be. Thankfully, our insurance covers Acupuncture and Sage takes our insurance so that was awesome as well. The great thing about Elaine is she's such a good communicator. She was explaining things to me and actually answering what were probably inane questions to her in a very patient and enthusiastic manner. did I mention my neck was killing me? Anyways, I went through the whole session and left feeling like I had been beat up in a bar fight (yeah, unfortunately I know what that feels like). Not sure why, nothing that she did physically but I was worked. I made it home and laid down for a couple of hours. I woke up and I swear my neck pain was gone. Not lessened. Gone. What flexaril and the chiropractor and tons of advil and the like couldn't do, Acupuncture had done. Did it come back? Yes, but not with the severity that it had in the past. I've gone to other treatments at Sage since and I haven't experienced the pain I was feeling since. As you can tell I'm a believer in Sage Acupuncture and Elaine. It's been 7 months since my first treatment with her and the neck feels great. It's just nice to be able to tell a good story about someone that's doing good work. I have been receiving acupuncture treatments for 15 years. Sometimes you have muscles that need a little more work to loosen them up and massages alone can't do the job. I lived in Japan and had treatments there as well as numerous places here in San Diego. I found Sage using Yelp after injuring my neck surfing so bad that I couldn't move my head and could hardly walk without major pain. After I went to the chiropractor I gave Elaine a call and went into her office. This place feels very intimate and not "office-like" at all. Elaine is a very genuine person that listens to everything that you have to say and does not provide some of the iffy treatments that I've had in the past. She goes right at your targeted muscles and the channels that affect them. She gave me several different types of treatments to include electric stimulation on the needles and massage combination. I went to Sage after my friend recommended it and have been back regularly for the best massages I've had yet! I have had my last three massages with Vanessa and highly recommend her. She manages to target my insanely tight neck/back with a good deep tissue massage that leaves me without any soreness. Since I run a lot my legs are always a challenge for a massage therapist but Vanessa really listens and adapts to what I need for that particular session. I love being able to get a deep massage and still really relax & Sage is easy going and small so I don't have to wait or deal with a lot of people after. Elaine is a sales person. Everything has a price. I thought I was on a cruise ship with all of the suggestive selling. I read all the reviews and thought I was in for a relaxing time, but it was it was not.to bad. waste of time and money. look else where for these services. I have been go to Elaine for over six years now for relaxing and rejuvinating massages. Originally I stopped in to The One Stop Body Shop because it was a convenient location, but as soon as I received my first massage, I knew I would come back no matter where I lived. The shop is adorable and the whole space is very comforting. Elaine is an excellent masseuse and wonderful person. She always takes the time to talk to you about what is going on in your life and any issues that you're having with your body so that she can make to sure accomodate your needs. I just recently had my first acupuncture session with Elaine, she was so thorough and educated me on everything she was going to treat me for. Contrary to what I heard, the needles entering and exiting did not hurt at all. The room is very cozy with nice music so I was able to zen out for the 20 minutes or so she worked on me. Yesterday, 9/28/15 was my first appointment. I was hesitant at first, but willing to try anything. During the last two years, I lost both of my loving parents (married for 52 years). In the time that ensued, I could not get a decent night of rest (averaging 4-6 hours of sleep). With the lack of sleep, other problems followed: challenging memory skills, tension headaches, and aching joints. My doctor did a MRI and CAT scan on my brain due to the lapse memory, thinking I might have had a small tumor; both tests resulted negative, thankfully. However, the frustration grew, and out of frustration the remedy was suggested by my doctor: exercise, massage, acupuncture, and yoga. I decided to bicycle home from work, (13 miles). I also followed through with deep tissue massage. The massage therapist, besides my doctor, also suggested acupuncture, emphasizing that it would complement the massage. Therefore, I caved in, and decided acupuncture. What ultimately persuaded me was that is was covered under my insurance (it lends credence to the practice). Needless to say, after my first visit, I slept 10 hours that evening. The most I've slept in 2 YEARS! I've a second appointment, and much looking forward to it. read more

Elaine has fixed me so many times over the past 13 years I've lost count. I'm an avid surfer, wakeboarder, snowboarder, etc and have the typical associated issues with lower back, rhomboids, rotator cuffs, etc. She is extremely intuitive in her massage, she can trace tension so fast it's like she has X-ray vision and can see the trouble spots. She used a combination of massage, cupping, and acupuncture to fix an ailing rotator. It was a problem for months and literally one treatment and boom, fixed. It's been good for 5 years. She also applied accupunction/accupressure for tobacco cessation. I can't say it was THE magic bullet, but after chewing for 12 years and trying to quite dozens of times, I kicked it cold turkey a couple of months after a few treatments. This is my first review for Elaine...cant believe I didn't do this before. I have been going to Elaine for at least 5 years. I think the best way to explain what she does is to tell you what I have come to her for. I had the most excruciating injuries that I had to have multiple surgeries for. If it weren't for Elaine, I don't want to even think how bad it would have been. I had 5 fractures in my foot (2 horrific doctors) and she treated me prior to surgery and after. I then had 2, yes 2, TSAs (shoulder replacements) that she treated before and after and I am telling you...it made the surgeries a lot easier. I am 6 mos post last surgery and was being treated 3 weeks after surgery. I can say, I now go to Elaine for massages and no longer need acupuncture or anything else. My surgeons were all stunned as to my bounce back...after all, I am 61. I now work in backyard, I lift all my own stuff and the list goes on. I am back to my independent self....ALL DUE TO ELAINE...hats off to her and so much more!!!! I just read what the Jeremy guy wrote....SO FAR OFF...the LAST thing Elaine is, is a sales person. Have NO clue what that was about except ONE UNHAPPY for life guy who writes hate about anyone. His comments could not be more FAR OFF...a cruise ship??
