I recently moved to Richmond & was immediately trying out places for massages. I loved my previous…read moremassage place & needed something accommodating for my chronic illnesses & with enough availability. I looooove Divine Spark!! Their prices have recently increased to $100+ for an hour session, but honestly, that's more than worth it. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences here & I'm so glad my chronic pain can be treated in my new city.

I booked a session here being TOTALLY UNAWARE they are the best rated massage in Richmond, and you…read moreknow what? I left thinking, "That's got to be the best massage I have ever had." I have severe, chronic pain. I got a massage somewhere else--that I won't name here--and my pain was so bad, I let the masseuse use a lot of pressure. I realized this was a mistake the very next day and they'd done some damage, but I could not use my arm--which is a bad situation to be in. A few days later, I got an appointment here with Tiffany. Tiffany was AWESOME. Along with a general massage and cupping, she used a method called scraping--this, my friends, did WONDERS for my arm. The beds are heated. The face-thingies are SOFT (I don't know why I can't find this everywhere). The only downsides? 1. There's no membership option!!! WHY. WHY WON'T YOU LET ME GIVE YOU MY MONEY MONTHLY?! 2. There's no rooms for couple's massages, and booking two separate massages at the same time for two different people using their online system is. . .not something it wants to let you do. My trick is to book one massage with another directly after it--both times I've done this, I've been called and asked if that was intentional. Once I explained, they had no problem arranging for me and my partner to both get massaged. 3. When you arrive, there's no receptionist, no front desk--there's chairs and magazines, so you KNOW it's the waiting area, but it can feel awkward waiting and being unsure if anyone knows you've arrived for an appointment. Fear not; It seems these folks are punctual and aware of when a client should be there, so they'll pop out of the room they massage in and get you--don't be weird like me and wander around, making the fact you have social anxiety super obvious, awkward, and everyone else's problem in addition to your own; Sit down and open a magazine and read about Reiki. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. Richmond is flooded with just below average massage parlors/masseuses, which is why you're going to have a hard time ever getting the same, one, good masseuse at a location repeatedly; There's a LOT of turn over because, well. . .Not a lot of people are great at massage. If they are, odds are they'll begin working for a nicer place *cough*Divine Spark*cough* or relocate out of the area entirely. Since Divine Spark is the best, they're priced highly, so I see this place as a place to go when I'm in extreme pain or as a very special treat. Beware--this is a small location and company, so book well in advance if a specific date is important to you. I'm already ready for another appointment, but honestly, seriously, beware; Your next massage elsewhere will leave you disappointed after a trip to Divine Spark.

Classes currently include Beginner, Vinyasa, Yin, Hatha, Flow, and Vinyasa/Pilates. The space is comfortable, with a beautiful original mural as a focal point on one wall. The studio offers the usual bolsters, blocks, straps, blankets, and loaner mats. The studio is quiet (no normal street noise can be heard, although the very occasional fire truck may go by) and the music that accompanies the lessons is in the background but all around you, thanks to the great sound system. Co-owner Kellee is a gem of a yoga instructor -- challenging yet caring, focused yet nurturing. She has taught in several other studios (I have taken lessons from her for four years or so) as well as yoga classes in corporate settings. Kellee customizes her lessons to fit the students' abilities and needs. Alternative versions of postures and poses are introduced as the session progresses to aid those who may have difficulty with the "right" way to achieve the position. She keeps your mind on controlled breathing, focused attention, and peace in the knowledge that you are perfect in the moment, even if you cannot sustain a balance pose as long as everyone else. By the time the class is over, your mind is refreshed, your body renewed, and for the moment peace is restored in a tumultuous world. I have taken classes in other studios from other instructors, and while each teacher brings something that I can learn and take to heart, I have found no classes to compare with those I have shared with Kellee. Not only are they great yoga -- flexibility, strength, balance, mind, body spirit -- they are also a great workout. That's why I drive 30 minutes each way for her classes, and have done so for years as she has taught in other studios. Now that she is part of a partnership in her own space, I know that I have a yoga home. May you find yours as well.

Cute yoga studio with small classes that let you have plenty of attention from the instructors…read more Everyone is super friendly!

She is an old soul. I felt like we had been friends for years (and it was our first meeting!). I went to her because I had experienced healing touch to deal with stress, back when my father was in hospice years ago. I have had 2 back surgeries since the pandemic and wanted a natural way to deal with the pain. The most amazing thing happened during our session - it was my neck. I didn't even tell her about my neck (because I have been dealing with it so long I honestly didn't think about it). After our session, I was actually able to turn my head 180 degrees for the first time in several years. When I realized that, I remembered what a chiropractor told me a few years back - that he was surprised I was having back issues and not my neck based on my X-rays. How amazing is that? I have been back to see JJ since, and each session is so different, yet so healing, relaxing, comforting and Yes - it works!!! Give energy healing a try, especially if you are dealing with chronic pain. I don't know how to explain it, but JJ makes it work and is amazing at it. I will continue to see JJ, and just so you know how much I believe in her and how amazing the whole experience is - I drive almost 2 hours to see her - one way. She is just that effective!
