I really liked the dentist and staff here but unfortunately I cannot recommend this dental office. My first cleaning took 2 hours and 40 minutes due to staffing issues. No problem, I understand things happen but not a great intro to my next appointment that was *supposed* to be this week. I confirmed my appointment and then got a call 24 hours before needing to reschedule. I missed the call as I was working. I call back 4 hours later, after receiving 2 emails that my appointment was rescheduled for different times, and call to confirm my new appointment time I'd been assigned via email. I was told the emails were to get me to call them back to reschedule and were not real appointment times? There are no appointments until March of 2026 but I can get on the waiting list. Not sure why I have an appointment to be on a waiting list with and unknown of when I can get my cleaning and exam. March 2026 would have put me at 15 months from my previous cleaning. I am under the impression I am not an important patient here and am looking for a new dental office that values my health and time. read more

Brief update: I continue to get good care here. The dentists are Dr. Kammer and Dr. Llorente; I have been treated by both, and both are good. My dental health is good, so I usually only get a cleaning and checkup, but I have also had two crowns put in. I don't have dental insurance, but they offer a portable pre-paid plan called Gloss that I bought that covers all checkups, cleanings, and x-rays, and gives a big discount on other procedures. read more

I will say that I have had decent care from the nice people at Sage dental. However,I've had an appointment booked six months ago. My appointment falls next week. Fantastic. Because I am losing insurance at the end of the month (moving out of town). they called today to reschedule me because they " don't have a hygienist " for the day of my appointment . They had a hygienist for that date up until today I suppose. They are now booking out for January. Today is may 30. I'm put on a waiting list in case someone cancels between now and the following week . There was no apology and no bending or any other possibilities before January. (other than one appointment at one time they offered me that I'm unable to make ) So let's not pretend we care about our patients. Business is business with Sage Dental. I had been a patient with Sage Dental for 14 years. Their dentistry remains high quality. However, they have grossly overloaded their organization and yet they still are advertising in many places a very inexpensive offer to sign up with them as a new oatient. I had a cleaning appointment scheduled in late August. I asked in the first week of June to move that back a day or two. They gave me "first availability" near Thanksgiving. I made 3 attempts to communicate with them and got complete silence. Not even a response to multiple emails. Again, the dental work is fine, but for everything else join the cattle call. I've been going to this office for nearly three years now. For some reason, I'd received a bill for services when up until that point everything had always been covered. I had left numerous messages and emails with no response. So when I called to see if there was a cancellation because they can never seem to find me an appointment ad they are always booked. Not sure why they still take patients because you can never get it. Anyway, while I had them on the phone I asked about the bill. I was told that I owed even though I had never owed in the past. When I asked why? I was told very rudely, I'd have to call my insurance company. I had never previously had to call, their office had always handled that. When I pressed further with a stern tone, I was accused of yelling. ‍ I can be spoken to in a demeaning manner but I can't stand up for myself? (BTW she doesn't know yelling.) She was new to the office and I'm sorry that the previous woman is no longer there. I am on a fixed income because I had to retire early because the pandemic caused me lose my job. It's too bad that the new girl can cause an established patient to leave but I guess they have too much business. Maybe not did long. What's the matter with businesses today? What ever happen to service? This office used to have that. But I can't say they do now. I will miss Meghan she's a great hygienist. read more

I went in today as a new patient and they told me that I didn't qualify for a standard cleaning and that I had to get the deep cleaning where they go way below your gum line and when I said I didn't want that they refused me a standard cleaning and told me I could get a second opinion. Had a good experience my first 5 or so years here then it all went down hill. They were very negligent of an infection that developed from a tooth they pulled and I had to go see a regular doctor to get the antibiotics I desperately needed. I was told the infection was close to becoming a severe bone infection at that point. They also told me only a few weeks beforehand that they would no longer be accepting medicaid. Honestly tired of dentists being soley for profit. Their original owner saved me when I had an abscessed tooth 7 years ago and came into the office on a sunday to help me. I was a patient ever since then, and it's been really sad to watch it go downhill and see them no longer actually care about their patients, just money. Less than 3 years later and 3 of the 4 crowns they placed failed or are failing. I have permanent damage and my teeth are forever altered because I never got the retainer I was supposed to get to keep my teeth in place because they suddenly stopped accepting my insurance. Having to deal with their mess ups in the years since then has been a nightmare. Wouldn't recommend with the current staff. read more

Bait and switch. I called for quote and reception person took my insurance policy number and assured me that an evaluation would be 100% covered; no charge to me and after evaluation they could quote the work. I sent over the x-rays from a few weeks prior showing the tooth needing crown after root canal was complete. Upon visit they immediately suggested x-rays. I told them they had it already. Then conferred for a little while and when they came back they said then needed 'special x-ray' and radiated me again unnecessarily (picture looked identical to the one in their emial) The 'plan' they created would not show any insurance contribution at all so I told them I will decide upon treatment after confirming with my insurance what portion is covered. About 10 minutes after I left they called me claiming I owed them $70. If that ever hits my credit score, I am going to file small claims for however much time I have to spend fixing it. Don't wast your time with this outfit; it was basically a scam to get $20 from my insurance. read more

Genuinely the worst dentist I have ever experienced. Was told I would be contacted after my first visit to discuss treatment plans for my cavities, which never happened. Every time I called they either hung up or said they would send me my treatment plan and didn't. When I decided to switch dentist and asked for my records to be sent over, same situation. They falsely told me I had four cavities when the matter was actually worse than that. I'm so disappointed and disgusted that health care professionals wouldn't take their jobs seriously. Okay, so it's an admittedly sketchy idea turning to Groupon when in the market for a new dentist. I'm not a generally cheap person but with two startup businesses going I'm always looking to save a few spacebucks where I can and the idea of ponying up $xxx.xxx for retail price dental work sounded.....less than ideal. Enter Sage Dental. They had a deal going and during my 5min of due diligence I saw on their website that the dentist Dr. Batliner is pretty badass. A badass dentist, you ask? Yep, it's true. The guy taught dental something or other at a little school called Harvard and he volunteers his time working with Native American communities. And from my to date limited experience he's a great dentist. So far I've only been in for my Groupon package (cleaning, digital X-rays, exam, and whitening (strips)) but after experiencing the quality of care and values of the practice I made another appointment to get some work (that I knew I needed) done. Bottom line, I wasn't sure what I'd be getting when I bought my ~$50 Groupon. What I found was not just a great deal but a great new dentist. *Tip: they've got a client discount program that can save you like 30% on services, check it out to see if it's worth it for you. read more

I saw Dr. Batliner recently to get a second opinion on a dental procedure I had done at my regular dentist. He did a great job explaining to me what they did and the different philosophies that dentists have while approaching certain issues. He explained how he would have proceeded. When I picked my current dentist, I simply went to yelp and selected the first dentist that took my insurance. I wish I had known about Sage Dental before! It has a great family feel to the office and everyone was extremely welcoming. I plan on making Sage Dental my primary dentist moving forward. read more

Dr. Batliner diagnosed and treated tooth #3 for being "bruised". Dr. Batliner wrote a referral for a root canal and crown on tooth #3 (I still have the referral paper). After getting a second opinion from Boulder Dental Designs, I received a root canal and crown on tooth #4, alleviating all pain. Dr. Batliner misdiagnosed and treated the wrong tooth. If I would've follow through with Dr. Batliner's diagnosis, I would've gotten a root canal on the wrong tooth. Thankfully his initial diagnosis of a "bruised tooth #3" made me question his referral. I got a second opinion from Boulder Dental Designs that correctly diagnosed an abscess on tooth #4, and thus I did not get a root canal and crown on tooth #3 like Dr. Batliner suggested. If Dr. Batliner had examined the surrounding teeth (nos. 2 and 4), he would've found the abscess on tooth #4 and I'm sure he would've treated it accordingly - but he didn't. He did, however, still charge me even though his diagnosis, treatment and referral were wrong. read more

I have found a new dentist & hygienist! Thank you Groupon & Yelp! First of all I'll start off by saying that the front desk staff/receptionists are excellent. I was originally scheduled for my first appointment 5/20/13. I requested that if there was a cancellation for an appointment sooner that I please be contacted as I might be traveling on 5/20/13. Well, today I received a call today about a cancellation! I took it! I have been searching for a hygienist and dentist since leaving Chicago almost a year ago. The dentist & hygienist I saw in Boulder in October were not the greatest. I am on top of my dental hygiene and look forward to my bi-annual dental cleanings and exams. I was a loyal patient of The Dental Practice of Lincoln Park, and I had Dr. Momangan & his hygienist Trisha since 2001. So today I am most thrilled to have found a great new dentist - Dr. Holecek, and a meticulous hygienist - Linda. Linda gave me a very thorough cleaning, and paid special attention to the bottom back of my teeth where I get a bit more stain due to a permanent retainer that sits there. She was exceptional. I'm definitely a fan and will always request her from this day forward. Dr. Holecek was very personable and very thorough with his exam. He complimented my previous dental work, (fillings & crowns which the majority were done by my dentist brother years ago. I'm so grateful to have him. I owe him for the smile I have). Dr. Holecek also inquired as to any concerns I might have. He also asked if I have a history of grinding. That was impressive for him to catch as I have had two episodes of TMJ in the last 3 years. I was under a tremendous amount of stress both times, but both resolved over a few days. Though I haven't had any grinding or TMJ issues since. I appreciate him noticing and asking if I was having any problems in regards to grinding my teeth when I sleep. I cannot say enough about his wonderful bedside manner. I'm truly ecstatic to have a great dentist here in CO! I highly recommend Dr. Holecek, his hygienist Linda and the gracious staff at Sage Dental. read more

Liked this place at first. Then they started letting a dentist in training to do "some" work. They told me Dr Sage was running late and the dentist in training would start and the dentist would finish the work. After an extremely long time in the chair for 2 caps, still no Dr Sage. The girl working the front desk came into the room, at my head, pretending to be Dr Sage approving the work by the "dentist in training". Completely lying about who she was. I probably would not have even written this review, but here I am 2 years later with extremely sensitive teeth that were capped during this visit. I also came with a Groupon when I didn't have dental insurance. Hygienist was friendly, front office okay, got a filling in a molar. One week later the molar hurt, and it turned out the filling was loose. Came back in and got a new filling. This filling also failed--same tooth pain, sensitivity etc. I did not want to come in a third time, so asked if they could refund me the special pricing plan that I had bought from them--it offered discounted pricing for repeat visits--and after some curt attitude from front desk, and deliberating, they did. No other refunds or anything offered (though they did offer to do a third filling and charge me for it again--ha!). I went to a different dentist, who informed me that this kind of shallow filling should be in an "L" shape, to add depth, otherwise it will come loose as mine did. This third filling was done right, and is still in place years later. My guess is that the original dentist was inexperienced, but the fact that the front office/management didn't offer a refund or any kind of apology for incompetent work makes me not want to come here again. This happened a couple of years ago and I didn't want to leave a bad review at the time, because the dental office only had very few reviews, and I can only speak for my experience. Years later, though, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

A year later, and I have not had any pain, or issues with the filling. Also, it is amazing to be able to schedule here on short notice. Watch out! I went to Sage Dental Care as a new patient and discovered I needed some fillings replaced. I got an estimate from the receptionist, scheduled the appointment, then learned while sitting in the chair about to be worked on that the office only uses composite (white) fillings (they feel they are better). Later, I learned that my insurance does not cover composite fillings for molars and then owed $88 more than the estimate. At no time did anyone in the office disclose their exclusive use of composites to me as a new patient or even when they ran an estimate of the costs thru my insurance - I certainly would have checked my insurance plan! When I explained my frustration to them, they were flippant in their response and refused to even try to make it right. That solidified my decision to look elsewhere. I should also mention that for the first time in my life, I felt an incredible "zing" go up to my eye when I was injected with the novocaine. It was super scary and I was just told that he got too close to the nerve. Yikes! read more

I don't mind the dentist typically, but the hygenist I had here has given me severe anxiety about going now. She was awful. First, she snidely remarked that I clearly hadn't checked the weather report because of my shoe selection. I agreed and decided to not take it personally--maybe she is a bit of a harsh person. Next, she scolded me like a child for not flossing enough and snickered sarcastically when she said that I have clear signs of gum disease. It was terrible. When I told her that I didn't appreciate being scolded and laughed at, she exclaimed emphatically that it was only because she is passionate about her job and wants to see people taking care of their teeth. I told her that I do take care of my teeth and she said, "not well enough." She was a nasty woman and made me feel badly about myself. Additionally, I arrived 15 minutes early as I had been instructed to fill out paperwork, etc. After the 15 minutes, I had to wait an extra 23 minutes after my appointment time had started. The dentist herself was fine, but I'd say all around, pass on this office. read more

Do not let Dr. Brett Broda touch your teeth! This new dentist took over Sage Dental in Lafayette, Colorado and is only interested in making money off of patients. Dr. Brett Broda did unnecessary and sloppy dental work on my teeth during COVID-19 shut down in March 2020. I simply went for a tooth pulled and before I knew it, he had me coming in every week and claimed that I needed a lot of emergency work completed immediately. When I would arrive, he would change the plan from filling a cavity to a root canal. Finally, after the 3rd visit, where he ground down 4 of my back teeth, slapped compound on, never filing down the sharp edges and sent me on my way. I called back the next day informing Sage Dental Care of my pain and asking for help but, they offered no help except that I would have to wait a whole week to see the Dr. Brett Broda who was doing all the dental work for Sage Dental Care at that time. I was barely able to eat or talk because of the jagged compound on my teeth rubbing against my tongue and cheek forming blisters in my mouth. On my last visit, I told Dr. Broda to his face that I was not happy with his services, he did not pay attention to detail and that I felt that he was creating unnecessary dental work on my teeth. He said that "he was sorry that I felt that way" and insisted on fixing the problem with the rough edges and even though I was hesitant, I allowed him because of the tremendous discomfort and pain that I was in. Do you know he used the filing drill on my teeth with NO pain relief or numbing?! That was it! I jumped out of the seat and never turned back. After this experience, I called my dental insurance in which they told me because I have No limit on my dental insurance services, this makes an easy target for dental practices to take advantage of my insurance. I am traumatized from this experience and now have to deal with a mouth full of unfinished dental work, extreme sensitivity and pain from Dr. Brett Broda's sloppy work and sadly, Sage Dental Care has no integrity in looking into or keeping their patience happy. I do not recommend Sage Dental Care if you want your teeth intact! read more

The first available appointment was in April, so I was surprised when they called yesterday to state that there was a cancellation and they could see me at 2pm. I was going in for a cleaning and a dental check. I felt comfortable from the start, the staff is friendly and helpful. I saw Dr Lee who was interested in you as a person not just another number and made sure he answered any questions. Really personable. I contacted this dentist in the early spring to see if I may be able to use the value of two expired groupons at their dental office. I spoke with someone and she said she would get back to me and I never heard back. I called again and left a message and never heard back. I called again and spoke with someone who told me that she would put me on a waiting list, so that I could get an appointment before a trip, and that I probably would be contacted. I never heard back. I called again, and the person told me that she would put me on the waiting list now (apparently I had not been on it). I need to get a significant amount of dental work done, and this dentist office looked good, based on their website, but their office seems disorganized and to require an amazing amount of persistance from patients.:) read more
