Reading the reviews here on Yelp...yes, Dr. Winnicki is 'gentle,' but it's to the point that I wonder if he could help if we had a real dental emergency and if he likes being a dentist or not. Stayed throughout COVID & them billing us for "PPE" (later learned that a lot of dental offices didn't charge for this). Yes, his wife is friendly, but also was rough as a hygienist goes in my experience, so switched and was content afterwards. The office has a new sign up at front that explains why "just a cleaning" is not going to be acceptable...a reddish flag for me, especially when I've been in the position of needing to switch dentists less than a year from my last dental x-rays and wanted to stay current with 6-month cleanings. My family of 4 actually likes going to this dentist office- because the team is so kind, and capable. Dr Winnicki is gentle- and one of the most thorough doctors I've met. He always double checks his work. If he finds an issue during a routine checkup he lets me know and gives his recommendation on addressing it- he never pushes me to get work done - it's always on my timeline. Wonderfully friendly husband-and-wife practice. I was nervous about going to the dentist again after a long lapse, but Erica's warmth and approachability made those worries melt away. I love this dentist! I just went there for the first time and can't say enough good things about them! The decor is nice and modern, the staff is friendly, the have modern tools like the water pic and free coffee water, and bottled water or juice when you arrive. They even ask if you want to watch "The Office" during your cleaning. I have never felt so catered to at the dentist. If you are feeling ho-hum about your dentist then I'd recommend this place as I think the dentistry they provide is top notch and the experience as a whole is very enjoyable. Dr. Winnicki explained everything including the x-ray results which I appreciated and everyone that I interacted with was genuinely nice and friendly. I'm NOT a current patient, my wife is- and I have to say that I'm absolutely blown away by what I've witnessed. She had her wisdom teeth out today and from the moment I walked in The Dental Shoppe I was impressed. Its a beautiful, contemporary, clean office. The staff were all personable and warm. The dentist was professional and friendly-- And as we sit here w/ an ice pack on her face, recovering- we receive a call from him, checking in, making sure she is doing alright and calling with suggestions regarding her healing. I'm blown away and so appreciative of the care that my wife has received. I've certainly seen enough to know where my next dentist visit will be. Quite frankly, I didn't think it would be possible to be jealous of someone for their dentist -- The Dental Shoppe has now made that a reality for me. I needed an unexpected "emergency" visit. They squeezed me in before closing on a Friday evening. Wonderful office.

Big shout and thank you to Dr. Winnicki and his staff at The Dental Shoppe! Yesterday, I had filling in one of my front teeth fall out unexpectedly during the lunch hour. As anyone else would do, I panicked looking in the mirror and see that I have a 'hilbilly smile' with my missing tooth. I immediately called my Lafayette local dentist, The Dental Shoppe. Although they already had a full shcedule of appointments, they were to squeeze me in just to take a look and make sure my tooth didn't fall out. Well, I got into the office, Dr. Winnicki was able to immediately look at my tooth and replace it on the spot. This completely lowered my anxioty of having to walk around with a missing tooth. As a software salesperson, appearance and first impressions are everything! My tooth was replaced and my happy smile was replaced to normal. Thank you to The Dental Shoppe for taking each of our patients personally and your immediate assistance to me. Of the six or seven dentist experiences I've enjoyed in my life, Jeff and Erica have impressed me Far and Away the most! Erica does the tooth cleaning, Jeff is the dentist. They are both so knowledgeable, competent, kind, real and helpful. The office itself is certainly very nice and modern, but what impressed me was how Jeff recognized what a dumb mistake I was making in literally brushing my teeth away by brushing the wrong way and explained how to correct it. He didn't suggest extra dental work, (though he did let me know there were things he could do if I wanted) rather, he communicated effectively about how I could take care of the problem myself. This is the worst dental business I have ever dealt with, my ex-husband missed an appointment and they charged me 75.00 because my son was on my insurance. My ex refused to pay it. So they sent this to collections! I tried explaining that had nothing to do with the appointment but they did not care. I am still dealing with this issue years later and I paid the collections people! That is just bad business practice. read more

Finding a dentist is usually not the first thing on my mind when moving - or during the holidays, but I had lost a filling and needed to take care of it asap. I found the Dental Shoppe on Yelp and after checking out their website I decided it would be worth driving the extra 15 minutes out of my way to their office. I am very glad I did! Everyone there is superfriendly and I quickly got my filling fixed, as well as an appointment for a cleaning that was due. The office is very nice and modern, I even got to watch Netflix the last time I was there.
