Posting this here as well as Google: I have been searching for a great dentist (and dental office) since I returned to Boulder a few years ago, but none felt like exactly the right fit. Enter Lafayette Dental Excellence. Dr. Leo, Jane, Mary, and Barb are everything I'd hoped to find, but never thought I would. Dr. Leo excels in the traits I value most in a dentist: patience, attention to detail, and outstanding knowledge of the most up-to-date advances in dentistry - in addition to foundational knowledge from experience, of course. Oh and, of equal import, compassion for my terror of anything remotely related to dental issues. Dr. Leo's assistant, Jane, could not be more kind and efficient. Mary, the office manager, is incredibly knowledgeable as well, so kind (must be a prerequisite for the office), and just fun to talk to - even in the midst of a painful dental emergency. Finally, Barb, my very first introduction to the office when I called, is warm and engaging. She sold me on giving the office a try, and I am so glad I did. Highly recommend this team. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Leo for several years now, and I originally chose his practice because of the many positive reviews--and I'm so glad I did. I came to him with a long-standing issue related to a previous tooth implant that had been bothering me for over 10 years. I had spent all that time dealing with the frustration of food constantly getting trapped around the implant and having to "dig" it out daily. After a thorough consultation, Dr. Leo recommended a thoughtful course of action and a clear treatment plan to fix the issue. Over the course of just a few visits, he completely straightened things out, and I'm now very happy with the results. I was having super severe mouth pain due to a failed root canal and was borderline having a panic attack when I came in. I had never been to this dentist office but needed to be seen asap. The attention to detail that was shown during my appointment was something I have never experienced with any dentist I've been to. They took their time, not only providing thorough treatment, but talking through a full treatment plan for me and explaining the why behind everything. I had a dental experience today that was a little less comfortable than, say, sitting in an airplane seat and just putting your feet up. 'Just a cleaning' is what I expected but... well, I hadn't been to a dental provider in 18 months and I needed some catch-up work. Reality was: It was way more attentive and intensive and productive than a typical cleaning is. For most people, that added attention is necessary and valuable, even if it brings a small bit of pain and discomfort. In managing the line between necessity and discomfort, I give hygienist Kim Beauprez and her colleagues the highest marks. Kim was so efficient and effective: even when pain was coming she knew it and sympathized with it, and is an enthusiastic and friendly presence and cheerful advocate for dental health. It's the sort of dental experience you can better appreciate in retrospect, but was a great merger of a medical and a human experience. I have had highly positive experiences with both dentists as well. My front-office experience has also been exceptional. I am so happy to have this practice in my town! read more

Dr. Leo and his staff are incredible! I have sensitive teeth and a lot of dental work. Another local dentist gave me inaccurate information and high quote$ for $ome procedure that wa$n't nece$$ary. I visited Lafayette Dental Excellence as kind of a 2nd opinion, and walked into an entirely different setting! Staff was genuinely friendly. My hygienist was excellent. No pain and she was thorough and efficient. We even chatted for a bit, which definitely eased my anxiety. Dr. Leo was great. He took the time necessary to listen to my concerns and check my teeth without rushing out. He explained his opinion and gave me his recommendations- which sounded much more reasonable based on the same information. I would highly recommend Lafayette Dental Excellence. I am an adult with an incredible fear of the dentist, with that being said, everyone at this office has been amazing to deal with. They make you feel so comfortable and Genevieve at the front is the best. I recently moved to Lafayette and did not have a dentist here. But I do now! These people are so professional and so kind. Michelle, at the front desk, was able to get an appointment for a just a few days out. (I wasn't in pain, so it wasn't an emergency.) Dr. Leo did a beautiful job replacing the filling that fell out of my front tooth, leaving a chipped looking tooth...lovely. His assistant was super friendly and even fixed me a cup of hot tea to have on the way home. I can't say enough good things about these people. So happy to have found my new dentist! read more

This place is amazing. They have worked with us on every front. They have been more than accommodating. I recently had an extraction (tooth removal) of a molar. That's what ten years without the dentist gets me. Dr. Leo was amazing. He preformed (3) fillings the extraction/bone graft, and (4) sutures in one sitting. I didn't feel a thing. Not once was I uncomfortable or worried about the next steps. I had zero swelling or pain the next day. I was amazed. He even called later in the day to check in on me and my Daughter, who also had a filling done. They are not a pediatric office but they have been fantastic with our 7 year old. Her last filling was amazing. No issues with pain for her, she didn't even feel the shot which is amazing. We moved to Arvada a while back but we will be making the 35 min trip here with a smile. My family will not be going anywhere else, this is our Dentist for life. read more

By placing my name on the wait-list, I was able to get a routine appointment quickly. The receptionist Genevieve remembered my name, even though it had been 6 months since my last visit! No one likes to go to the dentist, but my experience with this practice has been wonderful.
