AVOID AT ALL COSTS, LITERALLY! I used my UHC Dental Insurance. When I checked out, I was told there was a charge of $149, which I questioned since I carefully checked my benefits before arriving. I called UHC & was told that Sage submitted 2 claims & were paid $169. They said I should never have been charged. I called Sage & was told "You signed a paper..." I was not told verballyy about any additional charges & they refused to do anything. Very disappointed with my visit. I was told at my last appointment that I had cavities starting and would need X-rays, but when I came in, the cleaning was rushed (about 15 minutes), no X-rays were taken, and I wasn't even seen by the dentist ( they failed to tell me she was not there) The flossing was extremely rough and painful -- just shoved up and down instead of properly curved around each tooth. This office deserves less than 1 star. Their licenses should be revoked. They were completely unethical in their evaluation of my dental needs. They noted areas of my gums that were "#5" with blood. All so that they could charge me for a deeper cleaning that is not covered by my insurance, and I would have had to pay over $100 for. I refused the cleaning. Went back to my old dentist a day later. My old hygienist remeasured my gums; he found NO "#5's" and no bleeding and no reason to do anything other than a regular cleaning. The charge for the regular cleaning, WITHOUT the Delta Dental insurance, was $65. Sage Dental and Delta Dental Insurance should be required to reimburse me for what I had to pay out of pocket because of their unethical tactics. PATIENT BEWARE! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the very open and clean environment and the smiling and accommodating staff. They made me feel very welcome. My initial contact was with Marilyn, who was the most professional. She took my x-rays and answered all of my questions. She was extremely personable, efficient, and professional. Then, I met with the dentist, Dr. Vargas. She was incredibly sweet and very professional as well. Dr. Vargas certainly lives up to her incredible résumé. She took her time with me and explained my treatment plan. I was very impressed with her overall knowledge and professionalism. My first appointment at Sage Dental went very quickly. No waiting time and their great staff attended to all my needs. Even upon checl-out, the cashier was simply wonderful. All in all, a great experience! I cracked a tooth I was told that for a root canal and implant it would be $1100+. I couldn't afford that and told them just to extract it. They told me I would see an oral surgeon and it was $100. I got to the office and was told they needed $750 to proceed. I told them that it would be $100. They then told me that was for the oral surgeon consult. I have not been this upset in years. Avoid at all costs. Management at local and regional level is unprofessional and despicable. They don't follow up or return calls. When a patient has a legitimate concern, they ghost you refusing to address the issue in the hopes you'll go away. I paid $700 for 4 sets of retainers. Three of the sets were satisfactory. The fourth was defective and could not be adjusted by the dentist who threw them in the garbage. The dentist advised me to request a pro-rated refund of $175.00 for the unusable set. Their corporate billing could be improved but the very pleasant staff was flexible and accommodating. Office is spotless, roomy and in a strip mall with adequate parking and COVID precautions. Going to the dentist gives me through the roof anxiety so I was very apprehensive about having a root canal done. From the moment I walked in I was made extremely comfortable by every staff member that I met. Dr. Carter was very kind and chill, he made me feel very calm and comfortable. He sang while he was working but not in a weird way lol it was super cool and make me feel relaxed and comfy. In my opinion, this company is a scam artist, consistently overbills past insurance rates then despite losing the insurance case continues to send bills. Dental organizations don't have the right to bill whatever they desire for a procedure. This particular location is an absolute mess and will never go back. Just an office that tries to makes patients go multiple times for no reason but that they break up appointments at convenience (one appointment for crazy another for the actual cleaning). They tried to sell me some $25 mouthwash, to make money out of me, then a month later, get a bill for the visit. Called my insurance and they never bothered to bill them. Just disgusted. It's not a dental clinic, it's a business development model. Moving on to a real dentist. I had an appointment for the 31st at the East Delray location and 4pm which I had confirmed, I received a call at 2:22 pm asking me if I could come in earlier because "my hygienists appointments fell through" I said I would try to be there by 3:45pm but that likely I would be there at 4pm like my appointment was set to. I showed up at 3:59pm at my hygienist had left for the day... on New Year's Eve, extremely unfair that they didn't even care to call me to tell me my hygienist was leaving and to try to get me to come in earlier when it wasn't my fault my hygienist had a cancellation. Really unprofessional of a business like yours to not call and just leave to not attend a client because one of your hygienists wants to leave early when every time I've gone in before I have approximately a 30 minute wait time. Ok, guys, this place scams people, and let me tell you how. I wanted braces and I have the money to pay it in full. I found these people on Google and their reviews were terrible. Every single review told me not to go there because they will scam me. But I didn't listen to them because I was very desperate to get braces. I booked an appointment anyway and I went into the office. The ladies at the front desk for so rude they didn't greet me they had disgusting attitudes. Then they charge me a visitation fee when I asked him why do I have a visitation fee they said because that's their policy. But according to my insurance, I shouldn't have to pay a visitation fee so they charge me a fee because they wanted to. I called my insurance and they told me to go get a refund. It's not about the money it's really about the fact that they keep trying to swindle people to pay extra fees for no reason. After I got my refund I book an appointment to see if I can get the braces. They kept giving me the runaround and told me that I have gingivitis so I had to get a procedure to remove it to get the braces. I was so desperate that I paid the fee to get the procedure. After the procedure, they told me that I can get braces I might need to get jaw surgery. They also said that I have to wait for a special dentist to see if I can get the braces because of my gums. That's when I realize they were giving me the runaround . So I left the office and I went to another orthodontist's office. And that dentist told me I don't have gingivitis and that I didn't need to be seen by a special dentist and I don't need jaw surgery..... I got braces the next day from the new Orthodontist office. Bottom line be aware of Sage dental they will tell you anything just to make you spend more money. There professional scammers, they know exactly what codes to put in the computer so that your insurance doesn't it pay for the service. Please be careful and please do your research. read more

I called to make an appointment. The young lady was very nice and she set an appointment for me. She also sent to me all of the paperwork to fill out before my appointment. That took about 20 minutes. The next thing I know I get a call regarding my appointment at their office in GA. OMG I live in Florida! The lady was very nice and said I had to call the location back and start all over again. If I had not filled out all of the paperwork I would of totally cancelled the entire appointment. THE WORST!!! SAGE DENTAL, LINTON BLVD., DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA I needed a tooth pulled and made an appointment for cleaning and X-rays to look at the problem. The office on Linton Road sent me to an oral surgeon down the street who extracted the tooth within an hour. No problem. He gave me 3 prescriptions for pain....30 OXYCODINE, 15 MOTRIN 600 and an anti biotic. We live in the pain pill abuse capital of the US and this DR is handing out Oxyo like it was candy. When I went back for a check up I complained about this...they just said "just throw away what you don't use." 6 Tylenol would have done it, but this was just ridiculous. The physicians are part of the problem. I returned to SAGE DENTAL where I had paid for the cleaning (I thought) a week later. I had a 2 pm appointment and the entire staff returned from lunch 25 minutes late saying they were sorry to a those waiting in the lobby. That was a first. I sat in the chair and the gal said "the charge is $845.00". I said that was impossible I came in for just a cleaning that I had already paid for. She went to the front desk and then they said it would be $450. Amazing, since at this point they had not even looked into my mouth except when they took the X-rays on the previous visit. Don't know what they are doing and seemed to be having trouble figuring out a price to charge. At the reception desk they said that a cleaning was NOT included just the X-rays. I was out the door and so angry! I have had my teeth cared for over 60 years. I know more about dentistry than these people do. They must have texted me 8 times in a week about appointment times, etc. Once at 3 am. Just insane. If these folks expect you to just write out a check for hundreds of dollars, for work they are not even sure what they are doing, I guess they will be having a NAME CHANGE in the near future. I believe this was previously GENTLE DENTAL. There is a reason people hate dentists. They're more interested in your financial plan than providing proper and capable dental care. My sister also went to their office in Jensen Beach and had a very costly crown done and it fell out the next day. These are SWEAT SHOPS for dental work. Do not waste your money or time. Strangely enough I got the recommendation from the nurse at my MD's office. It's hard these days to find anyone doing their job. Their number one concern is getting their hands on your credit card. The staff and Dr. Gultz were just so kind to my 82 year old Mother who suddenly woke with a painful abscess above a molar. The assistant was so kind to take my Mom's mouth piece she brought and clean it plus give her a new container and brush for it. My Mom needed a good experience and she was given just that. She had just moved to South Florida after the passing of her sister, my Father, and finally her beloved Uncle who lived to 104! She also had a severe third stroke on Easter 2019 four months after she was widowed. As you can imagine she gets a bit confused from time to time and has aphasia. The Dr. and staff were patient, respectful and solved her issues with her abscess and the fit of her insert. We were going to take her to our Sage Dental dentist, but I am still thinking even 20 mins away from our home this office and Dentist would please her more and make her Dental visits happy. Had an appointment to see the Doctor and for a cleaning. He said I was good to go for a cleaning. He then sent me to the hygienist and then she refused to do a cleaning and told me my gums were not up to par for a cleaning and I had to pay almost $300 for a gum treatment before a cleaning. A $300 treatment that is optional shouldn't dictate whether or not I get a cleaning that is covered by insurance. Definitely will not be back. Update:: Emailed the suggested email below and received no response. Went to another dentist and they laughed and said Sage had no reason to turn me away, that I do not need a deep clean. I also found out Sage Dental has daily quotas they must meet, which is why they tried to bully me into spending almost $300. Guess this is what health care has turned into. I'm not happy at all with services provided they never call when they say they will they are rude and obnoxious. They do not listen to your problems and requests. The Dentist I was seeing is now at Sage, he is fine it's everything else that is terrible. I have chosen to move on to a full service dentist. That may actually care.
