I will start off by saying Dr. Briggs was wonderful when I needed an emergency crown, and everything went perfectly. I switched to this Sage Dental location because it is closer to my new home. I had my next scheduled cleaning done at this office and was told it would cost over $250 (I've never paid this much for a cleaning anywhere). When I questioned the charges, my hygienist was condescending and pushy. She basically said that is their protocol and if there is another dentist office that uses a different protocol, perhaps that dental office might work out better for me. I almost left and ate the $50 cancellation fee she quoted me, but I agreed to the cleaning this time so I would not need to reschedule. I will be checking into other options though in the future. I loved Dr. Briggs, but the hygienist is the person you see 95% of the time. read more

It is always a pleasure to be seen by Dr. Briggs. I've visited this office before and had nothing but great interactions and service. I've also spent over a thousand of dollars out of pocket for a root canal at this office. Dr. Briggs is proficient and professional. However, I declined the deep cleaning service today because of Lauren - the dental hygienist. She was very brash and unprofessional. Lauren rushed the education & calmly mentioned the price costing 600.00 for the deep cleaning despite the treatment plan I signed that stated I was only going to receive a regular cleaning covered fully by insurance. Once I explained to her I signed a treatment plan for a regular cleaning vs a deep cleaning , she badgered me about who could've told me that as if I was making it up haha. I make very good money but it was about the principle of talking to a patient in a rushed manner about a serious ordeal that involved numbing . She was condescending and overall she appeared disgruntled. I quickly changed my mind and declined any treatment. My word of advice to the office at Sage Dental of Abacoa is not only do you need to pick your dentists wisely but also your hygienists. I doubt we will go back. Dr. Briggs was amazing. Loved him but his billing person didnt know what she was doing and never smiled once. I ran medical practices for 40 years and she definitely would not have made it with me. Told us the wrong price. Gave us an incomplete bill. They referred us to Lake Park for a tooth extraction. Extraction took 10 minutes at most and the cost exceeded $400.00. The doctor said his assistant would call in a prescription for pain. NEVER DONE! No surprise. My first visit, I was given an explanation of charges before any work was done, which was appreciated. Dr. Briggs reviewed xrays and did a comprehensive evaluation. He was very professional, yet personable. The next week, I had a deep cleaning. Once again, the charges were explained beforehand. The hygienist did a great job, showing me on the xrays, my problem areas and advice on daily oral hygiene. The office has definitely improved since Dr. Briggs started practicing there few years ago. He's a very talented and professional dentist, despite being a relatively young. Their hygienist Janelle is a great addition to the team. The receptionist desk personnel is very friendly and accommodating, and I really appreciate notifying me before my appointment that my hygienist was running a little behind her schedule, therefore, I didn't have to wait in the office. At one point I went to another dental company before coming to Sage at this location. The previous company said that I needed 30 thousand dollars of work. I thought to myself. I don't think so. Made an appointment here at the PBG office. Dr. Briggs gave me a real world explanation of what he thought I needed. I was so happy with the realistic outcome. I was advised of every charge before the work was done, they honored my insurance, the scheduling was easy and everyone was extremely kind and professional. Don't believe all of the negative reviews. A few red flags: 1. When I initially called to schedule an appointment, the phone kept ringing and ringing; no one picked up. Tried again and got Barbara the office manager. 2. Made an appointment for my first visit with their periodontist. Arranged to have referral and records sent from previous dentist about a month prior to the visit. 3. 90 minutes before my appointment at 4pm, the office calls requesting I arrive immediately or no later than 3pm. If I cannot do that they have to re-schedule me. No apology from their side for inconveniencing me. I said I can try and get there by 3 pm and their comment "That will be ACCEPTABLE" 4. Arrive for my appointment only to find out they do not have any records for me. Perhaps my former dentist never sent them. They said Barbara, the office manager was on vacation and they did not have the ability to check her emails. Sage should have informed me. I walked out. Time to find another provider. An update to this review: Stay clear away from this place! I had a chipped front tooth fixed in Arizona 1 time, it lasted for years. I had it done there by Dr. Briggs, I was back 5 times and they blamed it on my mail biting! The final time they wanted to charge me but luckily my insurance paid for it.Then he had the nerve to say he doesn't want me a patient anymore which is laughable because he does not know he is doing!! The new Dentist I go to guarantees her work for 5 years unlike Briggs at Sage.They also told me they see a lot of people from Sage. I experienced a VERY painful dental emergency and showed up at Sage on a VERY busy Friday morning. The entire staff was friendly and immediately accommodating even though it was BUSY. Dr. Briggs was so caring and took care of my emergency like I was family. He is so thorough and caring and he turned a scary situation into the best possible outcome for me. He is hands down the best dentist I've ever been to. Samantha helped him with my tooth and I can't say enough about her either. She was incredibly caring and made me feel at ease, she truly cared about my total well being! She goes above and beyond her job and I'm so incredibly grateful! This place is a scam! I regularly get a cleaning every four months... I never miss... I just moved here and went to this office. I met with the doctor... He was very nice... I was getting ready for a cleaning when the hygienist told me that I needed a deep scaling Cleaning.. I was so confused because I've never been told that in all my years... So She then gave me the price of almost $500.. The next day I went and got a second opinion.. in fact they told me that my teeth are in excellent condition.. I became a new patient with this dental group. On my first visit they diagnosed I needed a crown and several cavities. Dr Ma recommended a porcelain over metal crown. A piece of the crown broke off within a few months. When I returned to his office he told me I should not have eaten nuts. That's something he never told me and I would have remembered because I eat nuts almost every day. They offered me a replacement zirconia crown but their discounted zirconia crown was still several hundred dollars more then another dentist charged me for the same product. I declined and left their clinic for another group. After this review I was contacted by Sage Dental with an offer to replace the existing broken crown for an upgraded zirconia crown for no additional money since the original crown was only 3 months old. read more

They only did the top portion of my mouth.. I was supposed to come back to get the bottom done.. I never returned.. Eek! Methinks not! Time to find a new dentist! I've been going here for years, but it's finally time to give up on them and find a new dentist. I even used to refer them - but not any more. Where do I begin... The specialist for my root canal out in Wellington that yelled at me, and her staff, the entire time.... the fact that they lost my x-rays, not just once but twice! No big deal, we'll just zap you again - no charge!! Or was it the calling me to pick up the nightguard I probably didn't need just to sit there for an hour... Oops, they didn't even have it... they lost it.....We found out later they didn't pay their lab bill so the lab wouldn't send it. Would never go to this dental group. I am filing a complaint against them. The dentist (his assistant) put my crown on backwards. He claims its not without ever even looking at the crown (I've had the crown for 10 years, I think I would know best). They do not listen to their customers at all. It took a month for me to get the cost for a crown replacement, they tried to hide the full cost by piecemilling the cost to me, (one procedure at a time) for all of the procedures that I would have to go through to get a new crown installed. This dental group is comparable to a fast food resturaunt. If you like quick service and poor quality then this is the place for you. I was nervous about the procedure because I had an emergency root canal on Wednesday, but Dr. Quick assured me it would be ok. I haven't had any pain since and am so relieved. Rudest, most unprofessional hygienist I have ever encountered. I had to leave without getting my cleaning due to her nasty attitude that was completely uncalled for and out of the blue. I've gone to this location since 2008 (almost nine years) and have spent thousands of dollars here. Initially the service was good but for the last few years it has been on the decline. The quality of service and customer service attitude displayed by the dentists and hygienists towards customers at this location is so bad that I would rather drive an hour to a dentist in Jensen Beach than to walk the two blocks from my home to get dental service here. The treatment staff here, including the dentists and hygienists, treats patients like they are a nuisance. They do not respond to inquiries on location and insist that you make another appointment which they then feel free to cancel with little notice. This has happened to me on more than one occasion. After a major procedure, I was told to "call anytime" "day or night". Unfortunately (for me), on a Saturday morning, my jaw had swollen to a painful lump the size of half a golf ball, threatening to tear out sutures. When I called I was told to take some Tylenol and come in on Tuesday. The last straw was when I recently had a hygienist (Lauren) loudly berate me in a loud, hostile, and angry manner for "not coming in every three to four months for cleanings". When she checked her records (AFTER berating me) she saw that I HAVE been coming every three to four months as requested (AS SHE REQUESTED). She didn't feel it necessary to apologize. Outrageously unprofessional behavior. So... these are my experiences. If this sounds like the level of service you find acceptable then this is the place for you. This is the absolutely worst Dentist and Dentist office I have ever been. The dentist is loud, rushes through his work, rough, and hands are too large and clumsy. He put 2 implants in and didn't check my bite or if the assistant cleaned up glue well. I complained of left over glue, yet she couldn't find it. During a period of 2 months 7 pieces of glue broke off in my mouth. Then one of the implants failed, which was extremely painful and had to be pulled. When the same dentist pulled the implant he chipped an adjacent crown. It took the dentist 11 months to get these 2 implants in the first time. We took our two kids for the first time 7 months ago. They said our son had 8 cavities (10yrs old) and our daughter had 5 cavities (8 yrs old). Didn't feel right about that and held off; but got them a cleaning. Took them to a new dentist yesterday and they are cavity free. I was also informed by one of the staff they get bonuses based on sale/upsale. Too expensive and not treated well! Last May 2015, I had to wait 50 minutes to see the oral surgeon, Dr. Ahn. Never an apology by any staff members at this office. In addition, I was told by Dr. Ahn, that I needed root canals for each cavity in my mouth. This was so not true. Sage Dental wanted to charge me $18000.00 to do my entire teeth that were affected by chemotherapy. It pays to shop around! I decided to get a second opinion. I am so happy to say that I went to Dr. Cohen in West Palm Beach. I saved $12,000.00, by going to him. He also treated me very well, and is compass and understanding. It's your choice! Go to Sage Dental and be treated like a number and get ripped off, or find a very good compassionate and much cheaper dentist, oral surgeon like I did. So my wife went here for a crown and was told implant so they said $3500.00 up front so we paid upfront. Dr Rand drilled into a tooth while making a hole for implant while flirting with the assistant.Oops he said his fault no charge then he disappeared to Kissimmee. The next Dr said post is too close so he had to start over. So year and a half later and now then wanted another $3500.00 and we found out they billed our dental insurance MetLife for I think $9200.00 twice. So dentist appointment for two filling sucked, had to numb me up 3 times, and then after the 3rd time told me the side effects of so much medicine, which I respond with "why would you not tell me the side effects prior to injecting so much, I'm not a doctor I don't know these things" which she responded that she is going to refer me to someone else and her assistant will give me a temporary filling. So now my face is as numb as the cold heart of an jilted narcasstic ex lover and I didn't even get the work done that I needed. My experiance at Gentle Dental was perfect. I was extreamly nervous because I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and I had recently chipped my front tooth. I was worried that I'd be judged for not going sooner. I didn't feel judged at all and everyone there was very friendly and understanding. Everything happened so fast. I literally felt like everything happened in the blink of an eye. My chipped tooth was filled in and it even looks and feels better than before.
