I went out of my way to call my insurance company and Sage Dental corporate to let them know the situation. I, in fact, do have insurance that is accepted by Sage dental. Ms Katelyn is just rude and unappealing. Literally the absolute worst. The front desk lady Katelyn is condescending and will gaslight you. She refused to let me in for my appointment even after I showed her my insurance. She tried to keep saying I didn't have one. I think she really could be challenged in some aspect and probably not fit for a front desk job, so good for her for trying. However, how can you be presented with the insurance and say "We are trying to verify and check the insurance you think you have" that ?? I think I have????? I told her that sage dental was listed as one of the providers under the insurance and she did not care. What a waste of time and energy, so I go home and wait because she said she'll call me once she verifies and we can reschedule. I call her back atleast 3 times throughout the day checking in and she kept telling me I didn't have insurance.!?!?!? I called my insurance to check and in took me 2 seconds to verify I had it. After my xrays a financial manager came in the explain that I needed work totaling 13K out of pocket and assist with financing to help pay for it all. Said I needed a deep cleaning as well. Never had a financial manager talk to me at a dentist office before. I walked out. My new dentist recommended only a fraction of the work Sage wanted to do and said a deep cleaning was only necessary for a much smaller portion of my teeth. read more

I went here as an emergency stop gap with tooth pain and was advised a root canal was necessary. Root canal went fine and I was fitted with a temp crown. Came back for the perm crown replacement and the color was off. Okay, nobody's fault. Got another temp and had new appt for the perm placement. Two days before the perm placement, they called and said their dentist is unavailable for approx the next month, they have no back up dentist (but if they find one, they'll reach out), that none of their other clinics will see me to place the crown instead and there is nothing else they can do, sorry. If you arent aware, they tell you when you get a temp crown that you shouldn't bite into things like.....toast until you get the perm crown. Toast. And the temporary crown is supposed to be just that: temporary. Like a couple weeks, not a month and a half. Do emergencies happen, even to dentists? Of course. Is it a practice's responsibility to have a viable coverage plan in case the dentist is unavailable for weeks at a time? This is the most heartless staff of women working. Jada, extremely rude. Has been rude since day one. She needs to learn customer service skills. I wouldn't hire her to babysit a dead rabid dog. The other staff just as awful. They have this rule that only the patient can come into waiting room area. On hot days and cold days they will throw your family members out on the street to wait for you. So don't bring anyone to drive or help you get home after dental work. Here is another sad part. I saw people who would come there who were in extreme pain and they spoke Spanish out in the waiting room. Then I got called back into the back office to go to my chair to wait for my doctor but as we're walking back. The nurses are talking about the patients who are waiting at the front desk and how they weren't going to help them that day that they had to send them home because they were a walk in or they couldn't fit them in the schedule or they nurses/medical help felt the patient out front was lying. This happened several times, not just on one of my visits but several occasions just speaking about patients badly right in front of me. Please avoid this place. If I could this office zero stars I would. They started by charging me a co-pay, even though I told them AND SHOWED THEM ON MY INSURANCE CARD that I have a zero co-pay. Next off was the explanation that today's cost would include a $127 "special cleaning". I explained that my cleanings are covered by my insurance. Their response: "we can't give you a regular cleaning; you'll have to pay for a "special cleaning", then in 30 days you'll be ready for a regular cleaning. RUN, DON'T WALK! Beware of the Sage Dental office on Central Blvd. in downtown Orlando! They have not demonstrated ethics when dealing with my elderly parents and have taken advantage of their elderly situation. My parents moved near the downtown Orlando office on Central Blvd. in February of 2024 and were excited to find a dental office so close to where they lived. In the spring of 2024, it was determined by Sage Dental that my father needed dentures. So my father's teeth were all pulled on 6-20-24 and he was given temporary dentures until his gums healed, and a mold could be taken for permanent dentures. We should've known this would not end well when he was taken back out to the waiting room after the teeth were pulled with blood running down his chin onto his shirt and sent home with minimal post-surgical instructions. No gauze was used to help with the bleeding, either. Unfortunately, my elderly parents continued to see Sage Dental attempting to complete the process of receiving permanent dentures since they had already paid for them and trying to have confidence in Sage's care. After using the temporary dentures for 6 months, my father was scheduled on 1-7-25 to receive his permanent dentures. On that date, the dentist was having difficulty fitting the new permanent ones and came to discover by the dentist's own admission that they were trying to fit SOMEONE ELSE'S TEETH in my father's mouth! So, my father came back home again with the temporary ones. Not knowing where my father's new dentures were, new appointments had to be made to create another mold for another set of permanent dentures. Before the final appointment to get the new permanent dentures, my father fell, went to the hospital, spent time at a physical rehab facility, eventually was in a hospice unit, and passed. While suffering, my father got to the point where the temporary dentures could not be used, and he stopped being able to eat. He passed away on April 14, 2025. My mother contacted Sage Dental about the situation on numerous occasions both before and after he passed away and was consistently given the run-around. She was often told the person who needed to address the situation, Tami, was out and messages were rarely returned. While grieving, my mother spent time on hold trying to contact the office (for 45 minutes once) and made visits to the office, just to never get the situation resolved. After a long-awaited conversation with Tami, my mother was told she could get a $1,700 refund back to her credit card. Only $1700!!!! After paying over $6,000 and never receiving the permanent dentures. AND THAT HAS YET TO HAPPEN! So...RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE! If anyone has any advice on how to deal with this situation, it would be appreciated. read more

I've tried to call and schedule an appointment with them as my socket are infected again but they have me leave my number for a call back that never happened ( this happened twice ). I've now waited 7 days with an oral infection without them reaching out to me. Once I called them back I had to debate with the representative to get an appointment. I went in for a regular cleaning that I perform annually and they wanted me to pay them $1,048.00. They were charging me for their line item D4341 for $395.00. I went on https://www.fairhealthconsumer.org/dental/category and typed in the line code with their zip code and got an amount of $354.00 for out of network. Their D4921 line item for out of network expense for $140.00 was also grossly overstated. The correct number as per the fair health consumer website said it was on average $44.00. I called to inquire but they gave me a runaround answer when I showed them I got the information from a government website stating otherwise. They are very dishonest and I recommend everyone use the website for the fair health consumer to hold these people accountable for their overbilling practices. read more

Sage Dental downtown is one of the most unprofessional Dental establishments I've ever visited. The way they treat patrons using Covid policy as a weapon to have you stand outside is outrageous. There are many business who have embraced Covid as a reason to be unprofessional, perform poorly and without vital tools to comfort their patrons. The dental office has two chairs inside. Two! If you're early for your appointment as requested, your punishment is standing outside until services are ready for you to come to the back! The two chairs in the lobby clearly is not what's depicted in their pictures they provide. Once checked in, you're asked to leave the facility and wait outside. Elderly people, people with mobility issues don't matter. 90-100 degree weather, doesn't matter. Rain, no problem. They do not provide chairs, water to help you suffer through the heat or anything. Management, very insensitive, arrogant and displeasing to common sense. There are at least 4 elderly patients standing outside right now. I offered for my mother to sent in the truck and they text her when she's ready to go back so the man that was already sitting, who she just asked to leave can stay inside and remain seated. If caused a big fight, the manager seemed to be ready to spar with me no matter what. She didn't understand I was requesting the man keep his seat, he was already there! We could have easily sat in the truck burning up gas in front of the building because I was lucky and found a parking right in front! Do not come here if you plan on offering support to a patient or helping them understand their treatment or financial responsibilities. You are not welcome in the facility either no longer than it takes to say hello and goodbye. You must stand outside during treatment as well or sit in your vehicle. IT HAS BEEN 35 DAYS, and still no refund has been issued to me. I have called 7 times, at least once a week, and the first responses were that the lady who does refunds is "out of town." Then in the last two weeks they claim that the refund is being "processed" and to check in a few days. I finally gave in today and reported it to my bank. Friendly staff and great service. Been a client for years and never had any issues. I do see the new push for upselling but have never been harassed after turning down the additional service. My favorite hygienist left to the curry ford office but the new hygienist is good too. To those who complain of pain, I can relate as someone who's dealt with less than perfect gums (I know, I gotta floss more!). I've never had a cavity but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt when they clean because those numbers they shout mean gum disease is invading your mouth and the larger the numbers the less your teeth are being held in place (4+ is not good). I got away for years with pain-free cleaning and they were not doing me any favors. The better you care for your gums, not just your teeth, the less pain. P.S.
