I had my first appointment at this office this morning. I haven't decided if I'm going to continue to come here. I get easily uncomfortable and overwhelmed at the dentist. Know your plan before you come in. Im new on my plan so I wasn't sure what was and wasn't covered. They kept trying to get me to do extra cleanings and presenting me with sample bills without my insurance applied so it was all confusing and annoying. Staff is nice though. I saw the actual dentist maybe 5 minutes during an hour and a half appointment so that's annoying. read more

The office is clean and the staff is friendly, however, they will continue to upsell you while you are in the chair. Once you have negotiated the price then the work continues, not the dental work but the attempts to get more money from you than agreed upon. You will "close" out your bill but the office will continue to send you bills for more than what was agreed. I feel like I am just a number and the amount I paid out of pocket with insurance was twice what I should have paid. Stay away!!!! read more

DO NOT GO TO SAGE DENTAL!!!! I repeat, DO NOT go to Sage Dental!!!! I went to sage dental in Winter Park for a regular cleaning. It was easy to get an appointment and at a convenient time. The staff was nice and courteous when I arrived for my appointment, but it seemed very slow (I didn't see any other patients at the time I was there). However, after what felt like 20 mins of X Rays, the dentist came to talk to me and do an inspection - before my teeth were cleaned. Weird right? I was then informed that I needed more than a normal cleaning (not a deep cleaning - but more than a regular cleaning because of tartar buildup). I asked if my insurance would cover it? I then waited another 10 mins to find out that it was going to be about $250 out of pocket. After finding this out, I told the dental hygienist that I didn't want to pursue that option and I just wanted a normal cleaning. She informed me that I would have to speak to the Office Manager. I spoke with the doctor again and told her that I just wanted a normal cleaning. I was denied service completely because the doctor said they couldn't perform a regular cleaning because they recommended a different cleaning and it was outside of their normal standard of care. Wow. I was astonished. But, it all made sense on how I could easily get an appointment and the lack of people in the office - if this is how they treat their patients by asking them to pay extra out of pocket when we have INSURANCE, but DENY care completely, then I don't know how they could ever stay in business! Always is on top of dental pain associated with procedures. The staff is kind with patients that are nervous. The office is very conveniently located with lots of parking behind the building. STAY AWAY!!! Sage Dental has been nothing but a frustration and disappointment. After coming for my first visit I was intending to have my annual cleaning as provided by my dental insurance. After my initial exam the hygienist said my gums were within "what they normally see." I was surprised to then be told that I needed to have a deep gum cleaning and multiple injections of antibiotics because they said I have gum disease. I was in the chair, and they were skilled at raising my fears, so against my better instincts, I agreed to the treatments. However, once they were set up to begin treatment I was suddenly told they could only do 1/2 of my mouth on that day and I would need to come back for the other half. They said that until they heard back from my dental Insurance, I would need to pay upfront nearly $400 for the one half treatment. I should never have agreed to that. I had no symptoms of gum disease, I floss at least twice per day, brush more often, and have no gum pain or bleeding whatsoever. In addition I was sent home with an oral rinse that was never explain to me what it was and what it was for. After opening the bottle and reading the directions for the rince I suddenly realized it was fluoride. I was uncomfortable with the very thought of rinsing with fluoride because I understand that it is not necessarily a good Health option because of carcinogenic risk. Yet I was charged for a rinse I would not use and was not offered reimbursement. I returned to the office today, with a statement from my dental insurance saying that they covered all but $102 of the bill. When I pointed this out, they insisted that I needed the deep cleaning and the antibiotics though they did admit that the antibiotics are controversial and not routinely covered by dental insurance. None of these extras were covered by my insurance. The cost to do the other side of my mouth was essentially the same as the first side so I said I preferred to just go ahead with the routine cleaning as covered by my insurance. At that point the dental hygienist became insistent That I have the same treatment done on my other side of my mouth, though I made it clear that I was unprepared to pay another $400. I was informed that Sage Dental would not complete the cleaning of the other side of my mouth unless I would agree to the more extensive and clearly unnecessary treatment. This office is nothing more than a big business racket operating on scare tactics and insisting that patients pay more then their insurance will cover and more processes and procedures than are covered by the dental insurance. I'm now going back to my Dental Ins provider to arrange a cleaning with a reputable dentist for the other side of my mouth. STAY AWAY! read more

The staff was wonderful and not one time did I feel as though it was my first visit. The facility is very clean and everyone is very professional! I arrived 30 minutes early for my appointment and I was taken to the back for prep immediately. While I was getting my tooth extracted they made sure that I was comfortable at all times and I was also provided with a BLANKET! The best dentist office I have ever been to in my life! read more

I would have not thought an office would have such mediocre dentists. Went for an implant which they kept getting wrong (including the periodontist whom I was referred). They had to redo each step of the entire implant twice!!! Finally when the crown was set in place they put the wrong color. Whiter than the rest of my teeth (crowns). I came home and my wife noticed it right away. So I went back and said this is not ok and the dentist's response was that sooner or later my other crowns needed to be changed and then they would be whiter to match the new crown. I concur with the other reviews. I wonder if they are really licensed professionals!!! read more

I have found the personnel to be friendly, well-informed, and proficient in their tasks. They generally keep me/my wife well-informed as to what they are doing and why. They seem to truly care about the patient's needs. Also, I've found the administrative personnel to be friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about all that surrounds the dental operation. Starting using sage dental of winter park at my daughters recommendation, she has been going there for a couple of years. We started last year in October of 2018 and I just had a follow up in April 2019. Really happy with a facets of the staff and operation. I have delta dental insurance through Costco and it works for me. Had a crown installed yesterday by Dr. Minjares and her assistant Abi. They were both great and super thorough. So friendly and courteous. They just opened their office in Winter Park by my house. I was nervous about getting my teeth cleaned, it had been a little while. I had anxiety about going, but after getting there I was taken to the office where they proceeded to take xrays and explain to me the services they were about to preform. Not only were they friendly they treated me like a family member there. I had a very enjoyable experience at a Dentist's office no less. I have no complaints about their work on my teeth. The course of treatment confused me, though. I saw a dentist once and didn't realize I wouldn't see her again. I was supposed to schedule my own periodontal work separately, but I didn't know that until I turn up for an appointment and it was more work from the hygenist. I honestly don't know if I missed the instructions or if they assumed that i knew the drill. This was my first experience needing more than a filling, so at my age it's a whole new world and I needed a bit more of a tour. read more

I absolutely love this office. Everyone is incredibly nice and sympathetic. I have been a long time customer with them, but I hadn't gone in awhile or to this location and I called them in a panic with a dental emergency. They took me right away! I had a vicious abscess and couldn't open my mouth all the way for the x ray so I had 3 nurses collaborate to hold the sensor in place and snap the x rays. They were so kind I wanted to weep because I was so sick and they were so nice and sympathetic and made sure I got everything I needed. I've since gone back for cleanings and they've bent over backwards to help me. I love this office! read more

Long story short, told I had 11 cavities, went for second opinion had NO CAVATIES! Scam artists and very rude. Had initial appointment. Didn't process insurance. Facial X-ray machine broken. Wanted to write a referral to a place that had one so I could pay to get it done. Had to explain that I could go to another sage office to complete my X-ray, rightfully part of the exam. Told me I had 11 cavities. I was so upset. Came back a few days later for filings. Didn't have insurance processed. Called me rude names like hun, super sassy and uncomfortable. Told me that the dentist was an HOUR late to see me because I got there at 9:05 not 9am. Would not show me my teeth X-rays because I "would not understand". The tech was switching the cavity chart and picking the work area not the dentist. Ended up walking out. Payed to go to my dentist of 15 years that was out of network, he said I had NO CAVATITIES! Sage scam artists wanted to drill into 11 teeth with superficial damage. So blessed that they couldn't get their act together and we so yucky to me that day or I would have stayed for the work. read more

This is the worst dentist i have been to, on my first visit they told me the complete job would cost me 9000.00 dollars with some kind of bridge, when i told them no, they came down on the price. So when they pulled one tooth they didn't want to use Nova cane so they could make it easy on me to pull the tooth. And then when i went the second time, this strange looking guy was just standing there. And he didn't look like he work there. So when it was getting to the end of my finale visit out of all those visits my insurance carrier said that i didn't have to pay a co payment. But when it was getting to the end of my visits they were trying to add any thing they could to my bill. So when the insurance paid them over 400.00 dollars they tried to keep my money. So beware peoples these peoples are nothing but rip off crooks. All they want to do is rip you off. And make all the money they can off peoples. And if you can, do not sign up for care credit. They will over charge your acct. and don't want to credit your acct. It took me about 21/2 month to get the money credit back to my acct. When they went over. This is the Winter Park office. I had the worst dental experience of my life today and that is not hyperbole. I had not one but two root canals yesterday and then today went in get my crowns. I am pregnant and have a severe form of morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidarum), which means I throw up a lot. I even have a Zofran pump so I get a constant stream of it in my system to keep it my nausea more under control. The office knew this and I talked about it with them three times. The endodontist yesterday was amazing and very understanding but today the dentist and dental assistant put in a dental dam covering my mouth and then left me alone for almost 15 minutes, in which time I threw up and almost choked on my own vomit. It was terrifying and when I told them about it they acted like it wasn't a big deal and like I was overreacting. It happened a second time and the dental assistant was seriously more concerned that I was going to close my mouth and mess up their work than the fact I literally couldn't breath past my vomit, even with suction in my mouth. I'm super scared to go back and finish the procedure and have it happen again. I am giving them two stars because of my experience yesterday with the endodontist but what happened today was nothing short of negligence. read more
