Yelp Review -- Oviedo Dentistry Hands down the BEST dental experience I've ever had! From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you can tell Oviedo Dentistry is something special. The outside of the building is beautiful, super clean, and they've thought about everything -- including handicap parking and a ramp for easy access. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted so warmly by the front desk staff. They even gave me a little tour of the office, which was spotless, modern, and so welcoming. There are massage chairs in the waiting area (yes, massage chairs!) and a cute drink bar with coffee, tea, water -- such a nice touch while you wait. And this was a first for me -- they gave me a personalized welcome bag with my name on it, a mug, and some little goodies! I thought that was so thoughtful. Once I was called back, they took high-quality images of my teeth and showed everything right on the screen so I could actually see what they were talking about. The hygienist and dentist walked me through everything, explained any concerns, and were super transparent the entire time. I've never had a dentist be that thorough or patient-focused before. Another thing I loved -- there's a TV with headphones in each exam room so you can watch Netflix or whatever while they work on your teeth. It makes such a difference and really helps you relax! The whole staff was so kind and took the time to get to know me. They even shared fun little facts I told them with the dentist so it felt super personal and not rushed at all. What really stood out was their honesty -- no pressure, no upselling unnecessary treatments. They let me know what was optional and reassured me nothing urgent needed to be done. Plus, they cleaned my retainers for free -- just another thoughtful little touch. Pricing was super clear too -- they went over everything before doing any work so there were no surprises. Our family of five HAD been patients for over 2 years. Originally went to them because they were able to get in three kids for cleanings at the same time with ease. Practice doesn't feel very personal at all. They put your name on a board out front and give you cheap merch on your first appointment to make you feel special, but you then become just a number. There are a lot of dentists in the group and you NEVER see the same hygienist every six months. They have new faces every time you are there. Always a different face at the front desk as well. High turnover. Upon entering the practice as new patients my kids all received x-rays and made sure the group had a baseline for all their mouths on file. Every child ages 10, 13, 16 respectively this year has never had a cavity, decay, or any dental work. Perfectly healthy teeth, with religious cleanings every six months. Never missed an appointment since becoming patients at Oviedo Dentist. This week, I realize I didn't have appointments on the calendar for their six month cleanings. I called to schedule and the secretary on Monday tells me I have appointments already scheduled for Wednesday. I stated I never got a call to confirm...they look and my phone number on file is wrong. No big deal. I make the accommodations to have kids to them on Wednesday and they miss time from their studies to go to dentist. We get there and they state all the kids need x-rays. I ask why and they state it had been 19 months and they require them every 18 months. I stated I did not see a need for that as our previous dentist RECOMMENDED but did not require them especially if family has no history of decay/cavities and the child has no history. I also stated that I was never told this was a policy upon becoming a patient as I never would have agreed to it. The office manager listened to my concerns and stated that the dentist on for the day wasn't willing to put her "license at risk" and wouldn't allow cleanings without the x-rays. I asked why it was medically necessary for their three perfectly healthy mouths they had just seen six months prior and how exactly this would put a dentist's license at risk. I was not given a reason. The office manager stated the owner was out this week, but she would talk to them next week to see if we could work something out, but they wouldn't be doing the cleanings until then. I stated to her this didn't sound like it was medically necessary but rather a way for the dental group to make money every 18 months knowing darn well the x-rays were not needed. The office manager stated to me that I don't pay anything - it's "free" and the insurance covers it all. Well, that's great except you are still radiating growing kids heads every 18 months AND WORSE you are still taking advantage of insurance billings for services we don't want OR need. How about a simple waiver stating we declined the x-rays and were informed of the risks like MANY other dental groups offer? Why don't they do this?? - SIMPLE - It doesn't make money! Comply and allow us to bill or LEAVE. This isn't about health, it's about maximizing billings. To boot - my oldest son had already gone back and started his cleaning to which I stated, I didn't want them billing the insurance if they couldn't see all three kids today. The office manager went back and made the hygienist stop mid cleaning. My son stated the hygienist asked to finish what she was doing and the manager was rude and stated, "no, he's done." My son had a horrible metal taste in his mouth and sandy like substance from whatever they were using and was unable to have his mouth rinsed before being brought back out to me. Really???? Beyond unprofessional and shows they put MONEY OVER HEALTH. Turning away perfectly healthy kids for cleanings is sickening and didn't put their teeth first. They just lost five patients and I will be sharing with our primary care doctor who refers religiously to their group and believes in putting patients needs over insurance/profits. This time I brought my adult son because I knew they would ease his concerns and should extraction be needed, it would be with minimal pain. My son's fears were eased, they explained everything completely and his extraction was almost painless. I might add that everyone that I observed leaving was smiling or looking relaxed. I went in today for an emergency visit having never gone here before and only having been to more franchise style dental offices in the area. I was having nerve type pain and assumed it was connected to a wisdom tooth. I have a very small mouth and when they did the X-ray of the localized area of concern Amanda, my hygienist/dental assistant (not sure which title she held), was very patient and helpful with tricks to distract me from the gag reflex. Once the assessed the area and reviewed the imaging Dr Nguyen (I believe) was straight forward in agreeing that the tooth I assumed was actually the issue and suggested we extract it. They were able to fit me in that same morning with minimal wait time between the initial screening and the extraction. I especially appreciated the tour of the whole office prior to being taken into the treatment area because I have definitely felt lost walking around other dentist offices that are 1/4 of the size of this office. read more

My goodness am I thankful for this office! I have terrible anxiety around dentistry due to a traumatic experience as a child. They are so loving and patient with you and really take into consideration your experience BEYOND just the "function" of your teeth. I've gotten multiple premolar crowns and not only is it hard to tell, they haven't cracked, shifted, or caused discomfort in years. They're really gentle with you and are really good at listening to the patient. I've been to Dentists who don't listen when I say I'm in pain or need a break or to rinse. They will always listen to you and still get the job done with care. Dental treatment can be incredibly expensive, they have payment plans available and many times they don't even have interest rates on the plan. All the staff is kind, friendly, and sociable. Very clean environment, bathroom is always clean, coffee, tea, massage chairs, and water in the waiting room. I moved across town but I will always make the drive because I appreciate being treated like a person and feeling genuinely cared for in the medical field. This is my third visit to this location and while normally I love the atmosphere and the staff is really friendly, I saw people enter without a mask and the staff at the front desk did not say anything about it. Natalie, front desk staff, just took them on a tour of the building as normal and went about their business. Everyone else in the building is wearing a mask and for the policies to not be fully enforced for everyone is a disservice to the community and this office's patrons. Navigating this difficult time is challenging but the least we can all do is help protect each other. Despite your belief in masks or not, that should not be disputed somewhere where medical procedures are being done. That was very uncomfortable to witness. read more

I hadnt been to a dentist in ages due to distrust. All other dentists seemed to just lead me somewhere and do something without explaining why or what dental words meant and then give me a bill. This place was amazingly different, they treated me first class like I was a VIP and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. I got to see videos explaining why I needed a treatment and then the work was flawless. It was well worth the investment for my treatment because I would rather have a Rolls Royce dentist than a Honda dentist. read more

Employment there must be contingent upon having on fleek eyebrows. Today, my dental assistant had perfect eyebrows and so did my dentist. My other visit was with my new favorite hygienist also [name begins with V] also has perfectly manicured brows. I know why my dentist does: very steady hand as she effortlessly ripped out my wisdom tooth (at least she made it seem effortless). I was able to squeeze in several episodes of Lost in Space on Netflix while the doc performed the molar extraction. The worst part of my experience *********spoiler alert******** was when John's spaceship explodes. Sad times. But other than that, it was a very pleasant experience. Dentistry is a very peculiar field. I had a poor experience with a dentist as a child so I am probably an annoying patient. I guess I am comparable to those annoying customers that come into restaurants and order bleu cheese salads but ask for you to hold the bleu cheese. I checked out another cheaper dentist and was not pleased with my experience so I returned here. I am very fortunate I did. I read reviews about how Your Oviedo charges too much. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. If you want to drive a BMW, this is the place. If you want a used 72 Pinto, I also know the place for you. On a very serious note, the doctor didn't offer me narcotics. I'm a strong opponent of overmedication in both physical and mental health. So as an aside, it's commendable my doctor lead off with ibuprofen as opposed to Oxycontin or Percocet. I doubt I'll take many ibuprofen if at all but it's nice to have in case the pain is noticeable like the first one I had removed in another state a few years back. BTW, that dentist tried to convince me to accept a narcotic prescription. Something I emphatically declined. I enjoy their accommodating approach to a demanding patient like me. To make a patient feel comfortable while performing services nobody really enjoys is a difficult thing to do, especially for somebody like me. 10/10 would have teeth ripped out in exchange for Stranger Things and Game of Thrones advice any time. 6 days until Thrones. Update: 2 days later and I have yet to experience pain or discomfort. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in years. Your Oviedo Dentist was a great experience. First, I had to do a pretty intense cleaning. They offered to extend my appointment for over an hour -- so we could get through all of it. Next, I had a few fillings. I had to cancel a filling appointment and they were very accommodating to reschedule. Their office is gorgeous. The staff that did my fillings and cleanings were very gentile and it totally changed how I view the dentist office. I was able to watch netflix and use nitrous gas -- I was totally relaxed. A dentist is a dentist...is a dentist. That pretty much sums it up for Dr. Lopez! I switched to this office from another practice that is closeby because it was a primary provider for my insurance. A year or so after I switched, Dr. Angel Lopez took over the practice as the primary dentist was moving (I believe). I still stayed with this office and am happy I did. There is nothing spectacular about the office. The waiting room is very small and if multiple people are waiting, it can somewhat feel like you are on top of each other. While it was an uncomfortable feeling the first time I went, you come to realize that a huge waiting room is not really necessary. The times I went they did have a large TV but it was always showing some sort of dentistry video. The actually patient area is set up like 3-4 open areas, one of which is an xray 'area'. I know some people prefer the privacy of an actual office where you can't hear the drilling on other patients, but it didn't bother me. I almost felt like they were able to take care of me more quickly since they could easily see each other and all the patients, and where they were at in the appointment, if that makes sense. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They were able to schedule appointments within a week or two. I always got post card reminders to schedule, if I didn't schedule my next one right then. Payment and insurance was a breeze. The hygienists were usually great. They do talk to you while there are instruments in your mouth... "How are you doing today?"... "arghhh....arghahhh". But otherwise they are very good with the cleaning. They can tell when you have flossed so there's no use in lying! My hygienist noticed some areas that were significantly less clean than others, and they actually gave me a toothbrush and showed how I can get to those hard-to-reach areas. They always offer fluoride (an extra expense) and when I denied, they usually did the one last push.. "Are you sure? Flouride helps with..." and then after a second "No, thanks!" they laid off. Cleaning is not fun, so I can't say they were great or anything, but they did their job. The Doctor himself is very nice and kind. You can tell he is busy, he does keep things pretty generic as far as conversation. But he knows his stuff and is able to give you good advice about your teeth. I have a lot of teeth problems so it was helpful for me to hear his advice. I had a few cavities during my time there but it was nothing ridiculous, and there was always a few on the "watch" list. He does a good, thorough check of the mouth, usually tells the assistant to write some things down, and then gives recommendations. The one time I had to go get cavities filled, the needle for local anesthesia hit a nerve in my mouth, which caused an electrical jolt type feeling, which is probably the most painful thing I've experienced in my entire life. AND it happened twice! I was crying all over the place. The hygienist who was assisting insisted that no one ever experiences that much pain with Dr. Lopez, "ever!", but I certainly wasn't making it up! Don't let this drive you away, as I would definitely go back to have more procedures done there, I think it was just an unlucky day for me! Overall, nothing special really, it's... a dentist. However now that I've moved to Atlanta I'm upset I can't find a dentist as trustworthy or honest. I was never pressured for treatments (that my insurance would pay for) and I always felt like they kept me informed with what was going on in my mouth. They also made sure I knew what my options were and what I'm likely to see down the road. So overall, I really liked the practice and wish I could keep going there! If I could give this dental office 0 stars I would. As I read the other reviews on this site and their experiences, I question the authenticity of them. I was given an estimate of $2600-$3000 for cavities I didn't have and a night guard I didn't need. I saw another dentist for a second opinion and yes, I had a few cavities but not as many as they claimed. "You don't grind your teeth at night", he said after I asked about the necessity of the night guard. 2 strikes for Your Oviedo Dentist. My bill after my $50 deductible and cavity copay was under $150. So much for that $3000 estimate. But best of all? My new dentist said, "You're definitely due for a cleaning." I told him I had just had one at Your Oviedo Dentist a few weeks ago and he scraped my teeth to prove to me that there was still a ton on tartar at the gum line. So, if you find yourself in this blood sucking position, do yourself a favor and get a second opinion-or better yet, avoid this place in the first place. I don't recommend going here at all. I recently came in for a cleaning and the previous fillings I had done their a few years ago apparently "broke" and needed to be refilled. Scheduled an appointment with an estimated time of 3 hours to get the work I needed done and they finished in an hour... already a bad sign. Left with an awkward bite that they wouldn't fix. A week later I had even more pain in the teeth that they "filled". Now they told me they just need to be readjusted but are still charging me for the appointment. Good service and comfort at a high cost. Don't get me wrong; this is a very nice office with free massage chairs, Netflix or music while you are being tended to; the staff is super friendly and accommodating; the equipment is all top-of-the-line, and Dr. Lopez is incredibly smart and charming and very good at what he does. I had several fillings redone by him that other dentists had messed up and Dr. Lopez is by far the best dentist I've had. With that said, this office, and all of its luxuriousness, comes at a price. My dental insurance is already super expensive and, unfortunately, this office is considered "out of network" for Delta Dental and so I have to pay $75 each year for a fee. The dental office never explained this to me (or my wife) so we learned this after the fact. Also, we had to pay them up front and then get reimbursed by our insurance. I'm not sure if being "out of network" is because the office uses higher prices than what Delta Dental allows for in-network providers or if it's an other issue. On top of that, the office will contact you a lot for referrals, feedback and they push products (clear coat anyone?) on you in an attempt to deliver that next level experience and presumably to pay for all of the wonderful amenities. Fluoride treatments, sealants, Mi Paste, etc.... all are available and I'm not saying they aren't helpful but you'll feel like you're in a sales pitch, especially if you turn them down. They're professional about it but it still is not a good feeling to me. While I definitely appreciated the great attention when in-office, I really don't need birthday cards and follow up emails and Cyber Monday special emails from my dentist. Seriously. The experience felt somewhat like a needy date that tries way too hard for you to like them. "I already liked you!! You didn't need to keep calling me for validation!" I say some of this as tongue-in-cheek, of course. There are flaws but overall the dental quality you get I think is very very good from a traditional dentist office. I do appreciate them being friendly, comfortable, and customer-focused but I'm going to look elsewhere for a regular dentist as it's too expensive for me. read more

I wish I could choose zero or even negative stars. While their office staff treats you like a VIP -- massage chairs, coffee or lattes, computers in the waiting room (although, I think they're more for someone waiting for you, since I didn't spend any time there at either of my appointments) -- and the dentists are super nice and seem to be caring, my experience was the absolute worst and caused a life-threatening situation. I had a treatment plan set up but had to wait a few weeks for the money I needed to cover what my insurance wasn't covering (about $8,000). One day, I woke up with an abscess in a molar but it was very late on a Friday, so I waited through the weekend during which time I was really sick. On Monday morning, I called and asked for an appointment for an emergency extraction. I was set up for the end of the day. Dr. Ann Delman was great and the extraction was almost painless. She and the assistant left and closed the office when we did. Within five minutes, I realized they didn't prescribe an antibiotic but, since they closed the office, I decided to call in the morning. Problem was, I was so sick, that I mostly slept for the next two days. I woke up at one point to use the bathroom and was acting so strangely (going to the closet instead of the bathroom and other behaviors) that I scared the crap out of my granddaughter, who called my daughter and son-in-law thinking I was having a stroke. They agreed and called 911. The paramedics agreed and, thankfully, took me to the top hospital in our area. I spent almost a week there but only remember the last day. Apparently, I was acting very delusionally, to the point the doctors were planning to transfer me to either a psych unit or a locked unit for people with dementia. I had lots of MRIs and CT scans that determined I did not have a stroke but a massive infection that spread from my lower jaw (where the abscess was) along my jaw to the bone above my right eye. At the point of my temple, the infection entered my brain. I am so thankful to the doctors at this hospital and I credit them with saving my life. I also credit Dr. Ann Delman with causing the spread of this infection by not prescribing antibiotics. This happened in December 2019 and it has taken me this long to speak up about it. To this day, seven months later, my jaw is still numb. I have trouble speaking, eating and drinking. From everything I have read about this, nothing can be done to fix it. This week, I am going to try to find an attorney to see what can be done. Not only did I come very close to dying, I have what could be permanent effects. Please do NOT go to this dentist!!! No matter what dentist you use, please, please, please ask for a prescription for antibiotics whenever they do an extraction or any other procedure when you already have an infection or if the procedure itself can cause an infection. Trust me, you do not want to go through the experience I did. read more

Dr. Lopez is amazing. His staff is attentive. He gets to business, but doesn't sacrifice pleasantries. He personally makes follow up calls to make sure you are ok. He is, hands down, the best dentist I have ever been to. It also doesn't hurt that they have Netflix, massage chairs, and paraffin wax treatments for your hands. The staff is amazing and extremely nice, they show they are there to make you feel better about your smile. We had a fabulous experience today. My daughter woke up with really bad gum pain and what looked like an abscess on her gums. We took her to this dentist despite it being farther, because it was so highly recommended. The office is really nice, very clean and very high tech. The staff are extremely friendly, they explain everything and the option to fill paperwork out online ahead of time is seamless. When we entered the dental area, there was a cute little back pack and balloon waiting for her, it was a very nice touch. She felt very welcomed and as relaxed as one can be at the dentist. We saw Dr. Colon and Amir both were great. My daughter ended up needing to have an infected baby tooth removed and she is EXTREMELY afraid of needles. They explained to her what had happened to her tooth, and what the procedure would entail, she was able to view the X-rays and the pictures. They made every effort to make my daughter feel comfortable, she was snuggled up in a snuggie and was able to watch a movie and wear wireless headphones during the procedure. And she was more than happy to choose an item from the treasure box and take a seat in the massage chair when everything was done. We were quite impressed with this office. read more

I went to this office about one year ago. My first impression was really great! I was swept off my feet with all the frills and a feeling of being the most important patient ever. However, I was mislead by their insurance practices. I was told when I booked my appointment that they would check my insurance and call me with any out of pocket expenses for an exam, x-rays, and a cleaning. I know my insurance policy well and its a PPO. Nobody ever called me and I was surprised with a $77 new patient "deal". I don't care about the money. I'm not going to miss it. But during my exam, they found two cavities! Oh no! I have never had a cavity in my life! They were willing to extend my treatment time so I could get them filled right away. I declined because it was already late. Meanwhile, they referred me to an orthodontist as well to have a consultation. I have seen one a couple of times and both told me I was not in need of orthodontic work. The money that they wanted to do the fillings and some of the cosmetic options they gave me was astronomically high. All out of pocket. Wasn't going to work with my insurance. I have been on the pursuit for yet another dentist. I finally found one that is honest, friendly, and very cost conscious and more than willing to fight with insurance for coverage. This dentist (1 year later) found the same two cavities and said they were to minor to treat. He prescribed a fluoride tooth paste to ensure they don't get any worse. I am in dentist heaven now, but I highly recommend staying away from this place! read more

Very clean clinic. They offer free water/ coffee. They also have a blanket ready for people that are cold. Most of the staff are very friendly. I gave 4 stars only because it's out of the way from center of orlando. Dr Lopez does have a pretty strong accent which makes me hard to understand a little (I am from Japan and English is not my first language) but he is very nice. read more

Highly professional staff, very clean and sleek facilities, dentists who are very experienced and who clearly focus on pain free dentistry. I moved to this dental practice a couple of years ago and I'm so glad I did. My 2 children even like going to this office. The overall staff is great and is always very accommodating. They have night and weekend hours which is extremely helpful these days. Are they cheap? No. But I do find their costs to be on average with other dentists in the area. I had a great experience while getting my teeth cleaned. Everyone was kind and the offices were beautiful. However, I was told that I had four cavities and that I could get them fixed the same day for over $1000. I have a regular family dentist that I go to for anything other than a regular cleaning and I sent the xrays to my normal dentist. I went to get my cavities filled( this is about two months after my exam at Your Oviedo Dentist) and when I was given the exam, they found NO cavities. My dentist even redid one of the x rays and extensively searched for these cavities I was told that I have. There was only one spot that they wanted to check in a year. I'm really upset that Your Oviedo Dentist told me that I had four cavities and would have charged me over $1000 for the fillings when in reality I didn't have any. read more

Nice office and tech but what they neglect to tell you is that they are not IN NETWORK with any insurance. The only reason I knew is because I have a dental background. When asked I was told " that is not something we customarily tell our patients" and that the fees charged were the same as my in network negotiated fees. Not even close 50% of $184 vs 80% of $84 is quite different. In addition they are under educated on coordinating insurance benefits and charged with incorrect billing codes and procedures that were rejected by the insurance company. Ask questions. Review all treatment planning with your insurance company directly and only go if you don't mind paying more than double your contracted insurance rate. read more

Your Oviedo Dentist is the best dentist in town. The facility is clean, modern, and sleek. All of the employees were wearing masks and they were following all CDC guidelines by allowing me to wait in my car after checking my temperature. Christina was my hygienist and she was kind, gentle, and my teeth look and feel amazing afterward. Dr. Colon did my exam and he was so friendly and thorough.
