The owner, Tina Perrone is one of most knowledgeable people I've ever known about herbs; medicinal and for other uses as well. She has an ointment for arthritis or other aches and pains; Golden Ormusol. I highly recommend it! I have chronic joint pain so I know what works and what doesn't. We stumbled into this little shop after leaving the cat cafe across the street. As soon as you enter you're greeted so nicely! We ordered some of Mary's carrot cake cupcakes and a sweet potato brownie. When she made the brownie she added fresh fruits and caramel to top it. Both baked goods were delicious! read more

I have been a patron and fan of Sage Moon Herb Shop for over 10 years. Every experience has been a pleasure. The staff has been informed, patient, and gracious even when my littlest have been in tow, fidgeting and objecting (loudly) to errand day. Ms. Tina is an absolute joy. Her knowledge of healing herbs and teas is extensive and astounding in peaceful simplicity. She has helped me with everything from teas for pregnancy woes to care package teas for family facing chemo. It has been a blessing to have this beautiful establishment in our small town. Very nice little shop with a cool "corner" door. That being said...it was seemingly stocked with all of the organic vitamins and other 'well being' accoutrement's found at any GNC - but it did have much more somehow packed into every crevice. The lady was engaged behind the corner with a customer and was friendly but not pushy while my husband and I perused the goods. I would have liked to looked around a bit longer, but I wanted to get out of the incense. read more

The description of this store doesn't mention the small cafe that is inside, which is a shame, because the few food and drink items are excellent! The sweet potato and millet patty is a must try, but the chili and split pea soup are very nice as well. The shop has a good variety of herbs and teas at reasonable prices. This store is quite small, but holds a lot of stuff. There are jars and jars and jars full of teas, herbal blends, herbs, spices, etc. They also carry incense, gifts, tea accessories, jewelry, body care products... all natural and much of it organic. Their website even says they can make you a custom herbal blend to suit your needs! How awesome is that? We had never bought loose tea before stopping here, and the woman at the shop was very helpful in explaining how long an ounce of tea would last us and how much to use. And if we forgot any of it, it wouldn't matter because each bag of tea is labeled upon purchase with how much to use, how long to steep it, the ingredients, etc. The herbs used to make the teas are no doubt high quality based on how they smelled up my entire kitchen after I put them in the cupboard. This is a good thing though... who wouldn't want their kitchen to smell like vanilla pumpkin spice or coconut spice rooibos? The best part about it all is that they do mail orders, so if we can't make it up to Berkeley Springs, we can still get our handcrafted tea fix! I'm sure we will be taking advantage of this service... there were so many delicious sounding teas that I wanted to try but I limited myself to 4 so I wouldn't go overboard. I have been going to Sage Moon Herb Shop for years and it has become my go-to source for fresh herbs, teas, and spices. I don't live in Berkeley Springs but I make sure to stock up when I visit there once or twice a year, and they have been very helpful when I have needed to place an order to be shipped to me. Their product is high quality and fresh and I have found their herbs to have a very good shelf life. The owner is extremely knowledgeable about how the various teas and herbs are used and how they should be prepared. The place has a laid-back and friendly atmosphere so it's fun to just go in and poke around. Their prices are very reasonable and competitive.
