Our group greatly enjoyed Sage's rafts, the staff was kind and friendly, and we had a great time. Their facility is clean and the staff had lots of patience with us. We would love to go here again because we had a great time, but I would need to have a manager or something sign off on the quote we receive to avoid the big balloon in price that we experienced, that was really hard pill to swallow. Regarding the drastic price change, we called in advance and received a quote for $700 for two 8-person rafts and a shuttle to get us there (screenshot provided). Unfortunately, we were told the morning we all arrived that the quote was incorrect and the shuttle cost was per person and not per shuttle. It also looks like the "Land & River Use Fee" nearly doubled as well, even though we did not change the amount of equipment we were renting. I told the staff that we would move forward with the cost because everyone was already there and they said they would charge us appropriately. They said our two dogs were not allowed in the shuttle, so we had to drive them up separately, but I was told later that dogs were allowed and could have gone in the shuttle. Once we got back down from the river float, we saw the charge was $1036, a 48% increase in cost compared to our quote, I was shocked, and after speaking to the staff there, it looks like we were over charged by the two shuttle costs of the folks who had to driven up, so we ended up in the high 900's, but still much higher than quoted. Overall, I'm happy we got to use the rafts, but I would warn others to speak to a manager when confirming costs and to be prepared for over charges or at least an increase in cost at the end of the trip. read more

Late Jan and not a lot of snow on the ground heading to the base camp. We were nervouse about the lack of snow and even considered aborting the trip. Once we were on the trails the snow conditions greatly improved and Jason our guide was on top of where to go. It was a GREAT experience and this is our second time going. This was my first time whitewater rafting and as a 40 something, plus size woman I was terrified (but still REALLY wanted to do it!). I was very happy to have Lucy as our guide, the only female I saw that day. She was patient and even encouraged me to jump in the swimming area of the Shoshone Cannon by reassuring me she would be able to get me back in the raft (and she did... and it was an amazing experience I'll never forget). For an August trip I would recommend wearing a ton of sunblock and a shirt/shorts over your suit to avoid sunburn. Also, bring a bottle of water. Finally, do NOT use the bathroom at the drop off site (nothing to do with Sage, their facilities were very clean). Highly recommend! read more

We used this company to go on an ATV tour and it was amazing. Kudos to Finn for being an excellent tour guide. The ATVs can seat 4 people and you have plenty of time to swap drivers if that's what you want to do. Finn showed us some amazing stops that lead to amazing views of the area. The tour itself is relatively safe and isn't nearly as intense as others around the country that involve driving over boulders. You will still go through some bush and be able to pick up some speed in other areas to really make the most of an ATV drive. Definitely recommend! read more

Our adventures with SAGE started when I made the reservations. I dealt with James and what an experience. He was helpful and accommodating. I had to call back a few times to update our bookings and he never once sounded put out! It was great! On 9 July, our group was scheduled to go ATVing at 2:30. On the way to the ranch, we came upon a vehicle that had rolled off the road. We stopped to assist the driver (who thankfully was not seriously injured). When the guys (I believe it was Austin, Garrett, and Bryan) at the ranch heard we were involved (we were not -just witnessed) an accident they jumped into an ATV and came down the mountain to make sure our group was ok and to assist where needed! They even held off on the 2:30 tour until we were finished with the police and were able to make it to the ranch! They went above and beyond what anyone had to do! Thank you doesn't cover the feelings of appreciation we have for them. So, our group of five, including a 15- and 12-year-old, went ATVing with Garrett! This was my second time ATVing with SAGE, and I was not disappointed. Garrett was personable, funny, knowledgeable, and accommodating! He even gave us the full two hours even though he should have been off the clock! Could not ask for better!!! The very next day, four of our group was going White Water Rafting! We had never been and were a bit apprehensive. How lucky we were that Austin showed up to be our guide! And Colton hitchhiked a ride on the raft!! What a blast! Austin was focused on having fun, only second to making sure we were all safe! He explained everything clearly and put us all at ease. I have never had so much fun doing anything! So worth every penny we spent!! Not only will I go back to SAGE for all of my Colorado adventures - but Garrett and Austin will be our requested tour guides!! Excellent rafting experience with our group of ten people, with an age range of 7-72. James was very helpful with the booking, answered all my questions, and got us on the right rafting tour. On the day of the rafting, Colton got us all set up, answered even more questions, and we went out on the river. Some of our group had never been rafting before, but Colton put everyone at ease. He kept us all safe and laughing. We all had a fantastic time and are all planning to try one of the winter excursions and go rafting again next summer. read more

I loved everything about this experience. It was easy to book. They didn't fart around making us wait for everything. They got us right in the water. We booked the Browns canyon, which was a class 3. Our guide, Nathan, was great. I was worried because I didn't know what to expect but there was no need to worry. My kids are 11 and 13 and we had a blast. Experience was really pretty amazing. We did the Shoshone Whitewater with our 9 year old - she did fine, that run is ok for someone that age. The canyons on the Shoshone were amazing. Breathtaking, really. And the rapids were fun, but not crazy. And this run finishes up on the rapids after 20 minutes - with the remainder of the 2 hours as a leisurely float. Grant and Bradley were our guides - they both knew what they were doing and were very friendly and helpful. Sage is lucky to have them. Be sure and tip those guys, as they are living in vans (and tents) down by the river! We really enjoyed ourselves and can't recommend enough. It was a family memory we won't ever forget. Our snowmobiling tour with Cougar on 12/18/18 exceeded my expectations. Sage's snowmobiling tours take place on 7000 acres of private land and is the only tour company that does so in the area. The others use public land which is often crowded.As a first timer, a less crowded experience was ideal. We took our tour with two others and only crossed paths with other groups twice.
