This place has changed my life. I started a little over a year ago. I wanted to workout to keep my sanity. My husband has the beginnings of Alzheimer's and I had just retired from teaching. I found Sage, Jordan signed me up for a session with Max and since that moment my life has changed. I have lost 35 pounds, and at least a couple of inches (except in my thighs which are looking healthier by the day!); I've got a much better handle on my diet and although a vegetarian have learned what good nutrition really is, especially if I want muscle and not just lose weight. I've done a 140 pound deadlift, I can run a ¼ mile, I can do pushups and I can row 2000 meters at a sitting. It may not be much for some, but for me, these are major accomplishments. Before Sage, I had trouble with my knees when I walked up and down stairs, and although thought I was active, couldn't run more than a block without being out of breath. I've also managed to healthily recover from a bellybutton hernia and be even stronger, travel to Israel and still stay on track both with exercise and food, go skydiving to celebrate one year at the gym, see the elk migration in the Rocky Mountains and hitting the gyms wherever I stayed. And, most recently, these terrific guys have become such fans of my protein brownies that they are encouraging me to go into business with them. It's hard to believe that all this has been accomplished in one year but I believe it's testimony to the terrific people at Sage who've changed my life, my body, and my mind. It's easy to say that it's my trainer, Max, because he's been a very big (swole!) part of it. But, it's also the special place that Sage is. I remember one of my first days there and I was rowing and struggling to reach the goal Max gave me. Every one of the trainers was cheering me on, making it easier to get there, and surrounding me with encouragement and support. And, the clients themselves, build on that atmosphere. They are friendly, supportive, always fun and set high standards for themselves, making this contagious. This is one wonderful place. It's changed my body and, no doubt, the past year of my life. Let me start by stating that I have NEVER written a negative review for any business. However, I am incredulous and very disappointed by Nino's response to my call today about using the $850 gift voucher for 10 personal training sessions my husband bought me a year ago for my birthday. Unfortunately, due to several personal circumstances which I shared with him, I was unable to use the gift. The extenuating circumstances included my father's death and dealing with the Estate business, my being the primary caretaker for my 96 year old mom, my having COVID, then pneumonia for 2 months, injured ribs, a hip injury, and 2 tumors on my neck and spine. etc. Nino was cold, lacked empathy and understanding and stated that he was unable to provide the service because the voucher had "expired". He added that "the best he could do" was to honor 4 sessions if I was committed to paying for 10 more. So, instead of getting what was already paid for, I would end up spending money for another 10 sessions. He kept repeating that this was their "policy" and couldn't make any exceptions. He is in charge, so I don't understand how he couldn't make an "Executive Decision ". Nino was unable to give me any logical, valid explanation for how his business would be negatively impacted by providing a service that was paid for. If I had made appointments and did not show up, he would have a valid argument. However, this was not the case. So Nino finds it perfectly acceptable and logical to take people's hard-earned money, and keep it, without providing the service by hiding behind a so called "policy", which my husband nor I ever received in any written contract at the time of purchase. This demonstrates a lack of integrity and it is apparent that the wellness of his clients do not come first. I also read his response to the unhappy "Groupon class" reviewer where he stated that he believes "people should get what they pay for". This was obviously a courteous, obligatory response. Nino... actions speak louder than words! read more

I was a gym-goer but my enthusiasm has been always on and off. Recently, I felt the necessity of working out so I decided to go and try this place out. I've been training with Samantha and she has been amazing. She cares about how I am doing and provides proper demonstrations of form and perform small adjustments to my forms. She showed me long term / short term plans/goals and has been helping me out and motivating me to reach my goals. I am really excited to see how far I can reach. Highly recommend! read more

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! The moment I took a class here a few years ago, I fell in love. I have taken classes here and also done 1-1 personal training with Jordan. The club is very clean, new and welcoming. Everyone who works there is super nice, but really tough to get you going. I did my first complimentary intro personal training session with Jordan and he is phenomenal-they really teach you good form, they push you in 30 minutes to leave you sore for a few days after. I have paid a lot of money for Equinox personal training in the past, and this by far, beats Equinox. The prices are very inexpensive for what they offer and compared to other trainers. I highly recommend them and you will see results very quickly. It's hard work but you need to do what you have to do to get into shape. I highly recommend trying this place out for a TRX class and go try the personal training out-you will be hooked! read more

I actually did meet Jordan that night when I checked in at the desk to redeem my Groupon voucher. He wasn't out sick. Like I stated in my first review, the class was changed at the last second from TRX to some other guy who ran a crossfit type workout. The Groupon was for a TRX class. Had I known it was going to be a crossfit workout, I wouldn't have came. Even if Jordan was out sick and not able to do the TRX class, he should have informed Groupon and/or the people that bought the voucher that the class was being changed. This didn't happen. After trying the Astoria location out, I figured I'd head out to my old neighborhood and check out Sage's Whitestone location. Just as I suspected, it's just as amazing as the Astoria spot. Been training at sage for a little over a year now and in my opinion this boutique gym is much more fun than the larger commercial gyms (especially in the area). The place is well maintained, always clean, and the trainers are really good. The vibe at Sage is always fun, which helps get me ready to train really hard even after a long day at work. SAGE FITNESS IS FLAT OUT AMAZING! Sage Fitness was recommended to me by a close friend of mine who had tremendous results within just a few months of working out there. It took me a while to finally work up the motivation to join sage because I believed I was able to achieve my goals on my own and foolishly believed I was in "good" shape. I have worked out on and off my entire life and played sports competitively.In the beginning I had my doubts but decided to give it a shot. I remember my very first day at sage and the words "good luck" before my workout. The word exhaustion does not do justice, I literally wanted to faint and Ill admit, at first I didnt know if I wanted to go back. The very next day when I woke up, as sore as I was, I told myself I would give this place a legitimate shot and continue working out there. Some of you may read this and become discouraged because you dont think you can handle a tough workout or someone pushing you to finish the workout. Within 3-4 weeks of sage roughly 2-3 times per week for only 30 minutes a day, I noticed a huge difference in my strength and conditioning and began completing all of their workouts. I got better and better every time I went in and pushed myselff harder to accomplish new goals. Yea, theres days where you will curse out your trainer or question yourself as to why you are doing all of this, but believe me its all worth it! After every workout, I felt great and was looking forward to the next session. At Sage fitness, the trainers are very attentive and try to accomodate everyones schedule and goals. They are also very good at working around injuries. They will provide you with a very easy diet plan to follow and keep track of your progress. You will also begin respecting your diet because of all the hard work you put in. The trainers Jordan, Danny, Chris, Max, Mike & Jay are all very knowledgeable and they pay very close attention to your form while pushing you to reach your maximum potential. They work with all ages and no matter what condition you are in they will push you to reach your goal! The environment in sage in general is very friendly, clean, and professional! I am 5'10, I was about 185lbs and was over 20% body fat when I began Sage. Within 5 months I lost over 25 lbs while putting on a great deal of muscle and under 10% body fat. Did all of this naturally, no supplements, no diet pills, no magic pill whatsoever, just hard work, clean diet, and dedication. This place deserves 5 stars across the board and I highly recommend it! Ok, let me start off by saying I hate the gym, nay, I loath the gym. Who has time to go to major gym facilities such as Equinox and LA Fitness and get showed up by guys and girls who are hardos there. When I first heard of Sage, it was this summer, and all my friends were doing it and I noticed the results. I decided to give it a try back in October, and boy was it a great decision. The facility is conveniently located right off the Cross Island Pkwy and great for when I get right out of work. The trainers are great, Jordan, Danny and Chris have been working with me since I started and they are well informed, charismatic, caring and passionate about their line of work. For some one who hates the gym, this place is great. They push you to your breaking point and you see results. They will spend time getting to know you and help you also with your eating habits, which they stress is also part of the battle for weight loss and core strengthening. TL;DR : This place is great. They make you feel like family and they do everything that they can do to help you achieve your goal. This is by far the best place to go for personal training that will fit your needs. The studio is beautiful and clean and the trainers are professional and knowledgeable. I have been going for over a year sometimes with my husband and have always felt comfortable. This doesn't have a box gym feel - it has a much better vibe as a serious workout space where you can also have fun. The trainers take the time to learn about your personal situation and come up with the fitness plan that is right for you. My 15 year old daughter now comes with us occasionally and she also is at ease in this environment. But remember even though it's comfortable - you are there to work out - so be prepared to sweat and get results! read more

It was my first time to Sage last Monday. The studio is new, very clean, neat and calm. I went because I wanted TRX training, and was excited to find a studio so close to where I live. Jordan gave the workout, and he said every workout was different. This is good. On this day he did a tebata, with 8 sets of each exercise, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest, and I will say that my arms were aching for a good three days. This is good. I look forward to going back tomorrow morning. The studio also has a great view, as it is down by the water and on the third floor. read more

I trained at Sage with Jordan for two years. He is very knowledgeable and taught me a lot about form. We had our "battles" along the way but he pushed me out of my comfort zone. I am no youngster but I can honestly say I can do more than some 20-30 somethings. I would never have tried some of the classes I take without his training. This is a real review from a client! My husband and I have been members for about 10 months and we could not say enough great things about Sage Exclusive Fitness and their staff. We have worked with Brandon from the start and while we initially found it difficult to complete the assigned exercises, he always encourages us to get the most of each session. Even though he still kicks our butts, we now feel more confident and not only see progress but more importantly feel it. Yes, it's true what everyone else says, during every session you will do different exercises making it all the more interesting, not like you are completing a very structured fitness class. I have to say everyone is friendly, professional and from what I've seen accommodating to your schedule. This is my 1st Yelp review. I would definitely recommend this gym for personal training. Compared to other places this place is much cheaper. $30/30 minutes vs $50/30 minutes in other gyms. If you buy more sessions, per class price would be cheaper. For a person who had never worked out before, I decided to sign up for personal training from July to December of 2015. It's not easy in the beginning but gradually my strength and stamina increased which surprised myself. I do feel more energetic and healthier now. Now, I even have motivation to go to a gym myself when before I never had the desire to. My personal trainer was Joey. Although he's a young guy but he was very knowledgeable. He had motivated me to exceed my limit each session. I had been sore for days after some sessions. That's proof that my training sessions were effective. read more
