These do not only ki11 bugs but also is a slow & painful death for anything that gets stuck to it. I have worked in wildlife rehab, mice, birds, bugs, snakes, bunnies, opossum babies. It's horrible! I utilized Sage Pest Control earlier this summer when I encountered ants in my upstairs shower! This was a first for me, and fortunately I had just received a mailer from Sage, so I gave them a call. I appreciate the fact that they have a "one-time" service option (with a 30 day guarantee) because most service providers don't do one time services, they actually try and lock you into a recurring contract. I spent $200 for the treatment (a bit steep, but it worked!)--and the ants reared their ugly heads again 3 times within the first 4 weeks, and each time they sent out a new serviceman who addressed the problem in a slightly different manner. All were very professional and knowledgeable. I'm hoping the ants stay away for good now! read more

I am extremely pleased! Was Visiting someone who lives 10 minutes away from me. I am an avid gardener as is she. That said, we both have water features. And while I use items that are on the market to deter mosquitoes I think these buggers have adapted. But alas, I have finally found myself done and over with all of the mosquitoes and she had none. She recommended Sage. I have had nothing but great experience from the girl who answered the phone, the sales person that I spoke to, the technician that came out. I have noticed a huge, huge difference. On nights that I would typically be bitten at least 20 times, I am maybe bitten once. I can enjoy gardening during the day and sipping wine out at night without being eaten alive! So happy to enjoy my yard again! read more

I recently moved to town and was in need of an environmentally friendly, kid and pet safe pest control company. I was relieved when Jacob from Sage Pest Control knocked on my door because this was an item still on my to-do list. Jacob was very polite and friendly, and he explained everything in great detail. I did feel bad for him because he was outside walking around in the heat and was obviously pretty hot :( He did not mention how much of a profit he made from booking business, but I guess everyone has to earn a dollar somehow. This morning the technician, Tyson, came to spray and treat the house and yard. He took care of the eaves, backyard, deck, crawlspace, garage, bees nest and entire inside of my home. He was super friendly, very professional and also great with my child and dog. Sage Pest Control was recommended to us by our neighbor and I was excited about changing to a different pest service because our current pest controls appointment times weren't working for our family. After our current service contract ended, I called Sage and they were helpful and nice. I explained that our past pest service was great and very thorough, but we were unhappy with their lack of communication and appt. times. Sage told us their service went above and beyond and they had excellent pest treatments. We signed their annual contract enthusiastically. The first appt. was great. They treated the inside, outside and garage, but after that treatment, I didn't hear from them until I called to find out when they were scheduled. Their company explained that their treatments were scheduled every 90 days. I told them I just assumed a treatment would be scheduled every 6 to 8 weeks in the hot summer months when bugs flourish and then back to every 90 days during the winter months like my old pest service did? They assured me their treatments were only needed every 90 days but to call them if there was a problem. This was a cause of concern for me. Well, during the hot summer months, I saw several roaches, stink bugs, ants and even mosquitos which I never saw with my past pest service. When I called them to return and spray, they seemed a bit annoyed but a technician came out promptly and treated those areas for free. Winter months came and I did see a few spiders but nothing to be alarmed about. It is now Spring 2017 and I've seen stink bugs, ants and other bugs inside our home. I did call to get an early full treatment done but they told me I already had a scheduled treatment at the end of April and recommended I wait. I asked if I could just get the mosquito treatment done since I was having a BBQ this weekend and wanted the mosquitos under control. The representative put me on hold a while to check and then came back to say it was OK. Their technician, Andy, did come out quickly and sprayed. He has always been very kind and efficient. Before signing with Sage, we had a years worth of excellent and consistent pest control, so there were no bugs to begin with. Now, I've witnessed more bugs in my home and property than I care to see. All in all, I like their technicians and their communication via text and email of upcoming treatments are outstanding, but I'm disappointed in their pest treatments which just don't work well. UPDATED Review: Sage Pest Control really jumped into action and took care of my pest problems. Josh contacted me to reschedule our initial treatment for a convenient day and time. Mark was assigned to us; he called and said he was running a few minutes early. Mark professionally diagnosed and treated our internal and external pest problems. Apparently for some initial treatments there can be a spike in activity. In our situation it seems like the initial treatment has already greatly reduced the number of problem pests inside and outside the house. A good company like Sage Pest Control has good managers who can spot problems in the field and resolve them quickly for their customers. INITIAL Review: I don't know why I believed a door to door salesman. Chris Reed from Sage Pest Control promised me that our initial treatment would start today between 2pm and 4pm. Since the initial treatment was supposed to include some interior work I waited at my house from 2pm to 4pm. Sage Pest Control was a no show. My sales guy won't answer his cell, his voicemail, and his text messages. I am not happy. The office is closed on weekends and holidays. I hope this company isn't a complete scam. They come door to door, trying to win your business - $400 for a year. The sales kid will be the smooth talker - he'll point out things on your deck, saying they will 'take care' of everything. They will follow up constantly to push you into signing up. Real big on the pressure sale. I went with it - small amount, let's give it a try, can't do worse than Terminex right? Well first of all I keep getting fire ant mounds on my property. Instead of treating them once with $9 home depot remedy, I called them back 3 times, pointing out the mound...which they then put pretty much the same product on, just seeming less effective. So a $391 markup! Okay! After the third time, the tech mentioned to me that 'you know, pouring gasoline on the fire ant mound is a good fix.' If I didn't want to wait the week for them to be in the area, sure, just pour gasoline. As you can find online though, this is not effective - it doesn't go deep enough, it just pushes the fire ants 3 or 4 feet away, and it's not exactly safe or universally legal. Overall this is a company that promises the world and then way, way underwhelms on delivery. read more

The men who are selling can't even do the work. This business model is terrible! A man came to our home today to which my husband told him that he would have to come back the next day so that my husband could talk to me about purchasing pest control. The gentleman that bragged about being Polynesian told my husband to sign his iPad for the initial appointment the next day. As we are winding down for the night I happened to check my husbands email to see a contract for 5 payments of $109 which means we would be billed every two months on top of a $49 dollar charge for the appointment set up the next day. This should have been another appointment to see if we were interested in service. Luckily this con artist put the wrong address down which makes our contract void, but we will NEVER deal with these guys again. Please pay attention to what's in front of you. Most people know not to sign anything without looking at it first. My husband unfortunately believes in the good & people being good & doing good. Obviously this sales rep saw that & ran with it. **LET ME MENTION IN MY REVIEW THAT SAGE CAME TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD PROMOTING SERVICES** We never called them for a service & the gentleman walked up my driveway & solicited on private property. Update: two weeks after their (third) visit, I received an email stating that I should be seeing a decrease in my pest activity by now and to let them know if there needs to be another follow up. There are still many trails of ants all around my home and deck - colonies under flower pots on the deck, and more. Needless to say, we're not thrilled with the results of the service. We're also not going to initiate a re service...three chances (after an entire year of "regular service") seems like chance enough to show improvement. Unfortunately, the pests got worse! My take: there are lots of pest control services out there - these guys don't seem to get the job done or go the extra mile, unless they have to...I'd recommend trying another company. --- --- --- First, in the spirit of transparency (and because I believe in marketing ethics), I'd like to say that I'm writing this review mostly because I was prompted by the company. I was told that there is a sales contest between the service guys and if people write reviews on Yelp and mention them, they are incentivized. That said, the guy that came by this afternoon (Johnny) was actually great and I thought he honestly deserved some kudos. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and on time (within the two hour window). Thanks for the service, Johnny. Secondly, the reason Johnny was at my house to begin with was a second follow up after our fourth quarterly service. I think it's their business model...just do enough to get by and if there is an issue big enough for someone to call you back, go out and do a "free" re-service. It's like they hope you won't call back. After the first round (the fourth quarterly service), we started to notice a lot of ants...and I mean a bunch! Granted, it was Spring. We called, mentioned we were having an ant problem - mostly in the landscaping beds onto the house, all over the deck, in the garage and in our home. We asked them come back for a follow up. Customer Service (I think her name is Hayley) was nice about it and scheduled a visit. The service day came and so did a tech. I was not home, so I missed the guy. I received a flier in my door that said service was performed, they treated the deck really well, stay off of it until dry. It was raining off and on that day. Needless to say, this didn't help out ant problem. We decided to wait a little while to see if their stuff would start working (as the manager states in a lot of his feedback on Yelp, their stuff takes time to work). Well, it didn't. We had to call them back out...as the ants are worse now than ever. Actually, they were pretty bad last fall, too. We just sprayed ourselves... That brings me to Johnny. He really did a good job - we'll see if it works this time. He used different products, rather than just spreading stuff on the yard, and spent time looking for more issues. I'll keep you posted, but I don't have the highest of hopes. read more

Malcolm showed up promptly at the scheduled time. He was well mannered courteous and professional. He explained exactly what he was going to be doing for the first application of his product. After spraying the outside he did come back and make note that he was unable to spray the entire area for pesticide, this is due to the fact that we have a small brook that runs through our property and he did not want to spray too close to the brook for fear of contamination to the water. I originally felt very good about using this company based on their eco friendly claims. The cicada killer wasps have been a bother for a decade or more. These burrow into the ground and lay eggs for the the next year. The new generation comes out in June and July. I was under the impression by Sage's salesperson in 2018 that a spray could be injected into the ground. So this year when I hired Sage, I was surprised by talking to the tech that he had no idea what he was to be exterminating nor did he even know this type of insect!He tried to call into his office and got no answer. Finally, he went ahead and SPRAYED the lawn even going where I told him to not bother going. It seemed to kill the few early wasps flying. But as days went on more wasps had come out of the ground. I called and spoke with owner. He spoke of their queen which made no sense to me. He sent a second tech out and I got the same spray treatment. So now, the yard is swarming with wasps. I've sent an email and video asking for a refund. No response yet. They obviously should not claim to be able to rid a yard of these wasps. read more

We have had 4 different salespeople in the past week come and try to get us to switch from our current pest control company. Jake wouldn't take "No." as an answer. To get him to leave I asked for a card and shut the door in his face. I live in a huge community in Indian Trail. We have signs posted all over our neighborhood we are a no solicitation neighborhood. Please tell your sales people to NOT ring door bells during dinner time. Rude and persistent won't get me to change from a company who has given me excellent service at a lower price point. Our blinds were open and Jake should have been able to see our family was finishing our dinner. You want to sell me something? Read the clues. Know your product, and be willing to give me more than your promotional pricing. I asked questions to see how far he'd go, he needs more training on what services are offered and if your products hurt beneficial pests. I have had acontract with Sage Pest Control for 2 years and couldn't be happier. My neighborhood has been infested with tiny black ants and nothing I did seemed to work to keep them out of my home. I finally gave Sage the job and it took several season to get it under control. When neighbors yards are infested as well it can be difficult to control. Everytime I saw an ant in my home they came back and retreated. Customer service is fantastic. Today my tech Mark signed me up for their mosquito service. A little pricey but I'm looking forward to a summer free of those annoying creatures. As I am getting older I just don't have the patience anymore to do these things myself. I had a a contract with this company giving them my full trust. First time they show up and act like they are doing a good work. During there second visit they only spray outside the house and left. At the third visit they came checked if somebody is in the house. Since I work from home I open the door and told the agent that he can go ahead and carry his work I am inside in a meeting about to finish. At my big surprise I came out and the guy was gone. without doing anything. I called them and report it to them, never the less they send a bill without sending the guy back. I asked them to stop the service after a while they report me to the creditor bureau for a payment I already made. My main concern now is how to report such type of company that I will not recommend to anybody. read more

The technician was very pleasant and wore booties before coming inside. He seemed to know what he was doing. The only complaint I have so far is that he did not go up into our attic space or the crawl space under the house and spray. We had also paid for termite pre treatment that has not been done and we were told that it would be done the same day as the regular pest treatment. They debited out the initial fee of $250.00 but have not performed the service we were promised. The technician did spray three fire ant mounds really well and down into the ground. I haven't seen anymore ants in those areas today. By the way, our first treatment was on Friday the 18th of May. First, it's lunch time and I don't know about you, but I don't like having my lunch interrupted by some stranger knocking on my door trying to sell me somthing. Second, it's 100 degrees outside and he's soaked in sweat and he reaches out to shake my hand. Umm, no thank you stinky, sweaty boy! Third, he's pushy...VERY pushy. He tells me that I don't even know why he's here or what he's offering. Actually, I do. You will offer to scan around my house and find insects,. You will try to convince me that I have a problem. You will then have the magic package tthat will save the day for several hundred dollars. Anyway, this kid could not read my body language, did not listen well when I told him it's a bad time because I am eating lunch, and then he's got offended that I did not shake his sweaty hands. There is no need to get talked into a contract by these college salesmen who are put through daily rigorous training to talk you out of your hard earned money. If you have the need for pest control keep it on a month to month. They will talk you into a longer contract because that is how they get their bonus, once you are in contract they have less incentive to perform the way they would on a month to month. First off, I will give them a little credit, I haven't seen AS MANY bugs creeping into the house so far this Spring since they did the initial service. I'll give them another treatment or so before I completely form my opinion on whether it's actually really working or not. The kid who was selling the service stopped by one day when I was in the garage dealing with a contractor who was doing some work on my ceiling. Normally, I wouldn't even answer the door to a cold solicitation, but I was already outside and thought it was worth at least giving them a shot. He never mentioned anything about the service being an annual contract with services costing $109 every 3-4 months. He only mentioned the special rate of $65 for the initial service. AFTER I had signed, that's when he briefly (and quietly, hoping I would glance over it) mentioned the ongoing treatments for $109. By that point, I was already signed up. So, I would highly recommend that Sage management re-train some of these kids they have doing door-to-door sales for them. I felt very swindled, and had a bad taste in my mouth right from the get-go. So, if one of these guys comes cold-calling, be sure to ask about the ongoing contract, because they don't mention anything about it during their sales pitch. I work from home so I have been here each time the techs have been here for treatments. The guy who did the initial service seemed to do a pretty thorough job. He was here for almost an hour doing everything on the list inside and out. Two other guys just dropped by for my first "official" treatment, and they were in/out in less than 10 minutes. I don't see how they did everything on the list in that amount of time, and I never saw them going through the yard with the "granulated treatment for the yard and planting beds." Even though they said they did on the "Your services performed today" receipt. So, I'll give it a week and will probably have them come back out if bugs are still present. Basically, in a nutshell, the initial sales guy was kinda shady and didn't mention this was an annual service that costs $109 per treatment, and the guys who just stopped by sprayed some stuff around the house and left within 10 minutes. At this point, I don't feel that it's worth the cost of the treatments and will probably not be renewing this contract that I got swindled into after it's over. I will most likely go back to buying a $20 bottle of Home Defense Max from Lowes and doing the stuff myself and save my $109 every 3/4 months. read more

I've been a customer of Sage for close to a year and if it weren't for today's Technician, RANDY, I would probably be looking for a different service provider. Every treatment I expect the technician to give their attention to detail and their willingness to listen to the customers needs and address the needs in or around the home. RANDY treated my home as if it were his own, maybe even better! RANDY'S ATTENTION TO DETAIL and KNOWLEDGE about where to spray, why to spray in areas, etc.. was TOP NOTCH! YOU CAN TELL HIS GENUINE CARE FOR THOSE HE SERVES & TAKES GREAT PRIDE IN HIS WORK, AS HE SHOULD. If I were the owner of the company, I would do whatever means necessary to make sure he/ she didn't lose such an INVALUABLE employee as Randy. Pay raise, promotion, whatever... he has by far helped me see the work of the company in a different way. And helped Sage in all honesty, not lose a customer. Other technicians who have come out, I feel like they couldn't care less on if they got this or that sprayed, granulated or wiped. But again, Randy went above and beyond and truthfully, I don't think he saw it that way. He truly saw it as the standard and that meant a lot! They over-promise and under-deliver. The cost is something like $400 for a year and they come once in a while to spray around the yard. I have to call and specifically schedule for them to come into my house to treat bugs, otherwise they would not spray indoors at all. Whatever they are using does not seem to work at all. We kept having an influx of various bugs in our house (from many kinds of spiders to roaches to silverfish to ants to stink bugs and everything else) and a terrible carpenter ant problem outside. For this whole year, we are continuing to see spiders inside and still had all the above bugs during the warmer months. The only thing I can say is when the guys arrive, they are always nice and always treat whatever areas we request. However, we are paying for pest control, not friendly acquaintances, and their products do not work. We will not be renewing our contract or referring anyone to Sage Pest Control. read more

I am glad that they rang my doorbell, I had been putting it off getting service. They came by, left a flyer and I kept thinking about how I did want the service, so I called them back. Also my husband called in between and said, "guess what I saw a 5 ft black snake going into our neighbors yard". It's the chain right, bugs, rodents, snakes... These guys are so thorough, they put granules into the whole lawn, Sprayed the roof line, around the perimeter and the interior. He even took a duster and got the spider webs. The man that came was so kind, Jake, he got everything! I am resting easier already, my bug phobia is bad. I would definitely recommend using this company. Also we have an English bulldog and they are very sensitive, when I asked about the product for pet safety, Jake reassured me that once the product is dry it is very safe for pets. I am reading some of these reviews and am surprised by some of them. We have had nothing but good service from Sage for the last 3 years. We had Home Team Pest and their pricing got out of control. They offered us the same pricing as HT before the price increase and we have been with them ever since. they came out 3 times free of charge for a bug issue. We pay $80 a quarter and keep renewing at that rate. Termite is only $39. Most places want $350. We shall continue with Sage and their products.... read more

Despite repeated demands to leave the Neighborhood, Sage salespeople continue to knock on doors and trick you in to signing a contract. Several people have called the police yet they continue to visit our Neighborhood and solicit business. We have even had sales staff escorted out of the Neighborhood yet they return within hours. Have heard many stories of sales reps trying to trick people in to signing contracts and also experienced it myself - no sane person is going to sign a dodgy form acknowledging some person illegally stepping foot in their property despite being repeatedly told not to. I am sure the product is awesome but the process is misleading, bordering on a scam. read more

I noticed many of the bugs I had before have virtually disappeared and I had a different company before and was being treated on a regular basis. Sage Pest Control offers competitive prices and excellent service. They show up in a timely manner and always come back out if an issue arises in between treatments. My only complaint, being in Huntersville, is it is hard to get them to come out in between treatments quickly because Huntersville is not always on their routes.
