Unfortunately didn't have a good experience with this vet. The front desk staff are great, kind, and helpful. For that I give a star. Otherwise, it would be none. Dr. H was very condescending as well as her tech. I wouldn't recommend her. My friend had a better experience with a different doctor. I felt pushed and almost "feared" into taking a vaccine for my dog. They talked to me like I was stupid and felt lectured for giving my dog ONE chicken nugget within the past month. I was just trying to be honest, but it backfired and they completely ignored that fact and acted like I'm killing my dog. Gawd forbid she has a cheat day. I've seen other dogs live in harsher conditions that surely live a long life. I understand education, but to do it in such a rude and condescending manner is ridiculous. My dog is in great healthy shape. I do my best to provide a thriving lifestyle (nutritional diet, good physical activities, training, lots of love). I did not get one nice or welcome acknowledgment on her health status. Instead, I felt judged and profiled right from the start. I've done plenty yelp reviews for different establishments with my genuine honest opinion and share my experiences. Unfortunately, I did not find any quality here.

Dr. Lindsay did an incredible job. We just moved here to Sparks and our huskies were due for their vaccines. I called a couple of vet closer to me but none were accepting new pets. I asked if they knew of a vet that would take new pets and they said Sage along with another. I called Sage and they were able to work with me to schedule an appointment asap that would also work around my work schedule. Once I got there, I did need to wait 15 minutes into my appointment, but once they started the exam, it was the most thorough exam I have ever seen my dogs. Dr. Lindsay was very gentle and calm with them and explained everything that she was doing to them. One of the dogs is a senior and he needed blood work. They were happy to do it right then even though the office was suppose to be closed already. The dogs got lots of treats and I really think they had a good experience compared to other places. This was also the most we have ever learned about our dogs, so the attention to detail and explanations were incredibly appreciated. We are happy to find this place! Thank you guys!

I've been taking my border collie, Cooper here since he was just a pup! I'd have to say with all my visits to this practice- today we just had the best experience here!!! Dr. Jody Hicks just came to this practice from A Plus Animal Hospital. She's an awesome lady and really one of the best veterinarians in the area. I'm so glad she came to Sage and I definitely will ask to schedule his future appointments around her schedule! If you want to have your fur baby taken care of by the best- Make Dr. Hicks your choice!!

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews for this office but I can only speak on my experience. I have been going there for about 3 1/2 years now. I can honestly say everyone of the people that I have interacted with have been extremely kind and loving towards my dogs. There have been times that they have suggested certain test and treatments that I didn't necessarily feel the need to do and they never pushed for me to do them. I feel that they suggest what they feel is needed but have never been pushy about anything. I never felt they were trying to sell me anything. I know it can be pricey but I have felt safe with bringing my fur babies to them. Unfortunately, one of my babies died at home and I brought him in after. They all made me feel so comforted. I say this because at the end of the day I am sure they go through deaths a lot more then we do. However I felt like it was all about us when I went through it. I will always be thankful for that!

Our dog was misdiagnosed, but we're not gonna talk about them. I want to say we were referred to Desert Hills by several people, including some of our friends I checked out the reviews and they normally average a five star review. They did not disappoint. We had an appointment today for our sick puppy. Who's been sick now about 15 days. We were greeted by Trinity the doctors, assistant, amazing and caring, compassionate. Then the doctor came in they worked with dodger took her temperature. Did some other test. Dr. Murray was so thorough so caring and compassionate as well. She gave us some options. They did a panel which we should get back in a few days she most likely has pneumonia. She's now on meds everything about Desert Hills was above and beyond the care from everyone the cleanliness the friendliness we are so happy we have found them and we are so thankful that we now have a new veterinarian. We highly recommend them thank you so much. We feel so much better because of you.

For a long time I truly loved this clinic. The staff used to feel very welcoming, attentive, and personal, and you genuinely felt cared for when you walked in. I'm really sad to write this review because I normally don't leave negative reviews, but after giving the clinic several chances I felt it was important to share my experience. The clinic seems much busier now, and while I understand that is a sign of a successful business and I support that, it has started to feel like they may be taking on more than they can handle, and that change is noticeable in the overall clinic experience. Most recently I called because my dog's paw was swollen. Since there were no appointments available, I was told I could drop her off in the morning and they would try to fit her in. I waited about 2.5 hours for a call back and received very little guidance beyond confirming that her paw was swollen. The conversation quickly shifted to recommending x rays on both paws along with other items like vaccines and tests that didn't seem directly related to the reason I brought her in. I also asked about switching her dog food due to past urinary issues and never received clear guidance on that. It left me feeling like the focus was more on adding charges rather than helping me understand what was best for my dog, and this has been my experience the past 3-4 visits. This clinic used to be a place I trusted deeply, which is why this is so disappointing. I'm only sharing this in hopes that the team might bring back some of the personal care and attention that once made this place feel so special.

The manager gets on the line and has no compassion whatsoever, she's rude and very insensitive. No one in this life is compassionate anymore, its just "business " to them, no heart, no feeling, just straight up money hungry. Unfortunately, there are hardly any good people left. I will say this tho, I'm taking my business elsewhere that's for sure, I would not want to take my animals to a place where you are just a cha ching kinda deal! If you dont care, I'm not trusting you to my sick animals PERIOD. All you care about is how much money you can make off of hurting, distraught, worried individuals who care about their animals and are in a spot of vulnerability and all you do is TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE LIKE THAT! SHAME ON YOU! GREEDY business you are! I will not step one foot in your establishment EVER AGAIN! Oh and the conversation that was had between the dr and I on the phone lady night, absolutely pointless! You were more worried about having a 15 minute conversation about nothing! That's how you made me feel, wicked and disappointing to say the least. Tasteless and disgusting. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody who cares about your animals, because point blank, they don't!

The front desk people looked like they'd had a long day, and I was put in a room almost immediately. Jordan was the tech and he brought the holy grail into the room for my Maisy (a ball). It still took her a minute to relax, but he didn't rush her, and threw the ball, which she loved. He was able to do what he needed to and Dr. Sarah was right in. Maisy knows her, and loves her. I don't blame a facility because they couldn't save/fix my pet nor do I praise them for just doing what they were trained for. I'll just say I don't think they made any mistakes in diagnosing/treating my pet and I was satisified with service overall. Place is clean and conveniently located right off 395 in Central-South Reno. Our cat was immediately taken back for observation. The place wasn't crowded when we were there maybe only 1 or 2 other customers. Doctor consultation about 10 minutes later. Doctor listened carefully and made clear understandable explanations. Next they send someone in with the estimated bill (it's a range) and ask to take a deposit. It's not really a deposit in the traditional sense. It is more like a prepayment. An example might be your cost is estimated at $1,500-$2000. The "deposit" is the lower end of the total estimated cost $1500. That makes sense. If your pet ends up needing to be euthanised, there's a risk the owner isn't going to pay the balance for a pet they don't have anymore. They do tell you if you call on the phone, the emergency exam fee is $195. But I suspect in most cases that will be a drop in the bucket of your total cost depending on what you are dealing with. I had been chatting with ChatGPT providing all the details of the symptoms I was observing with my pet. When she handed me the projected bill, I took a photo of it and fed it to ChatGPT and asked if any of the multitude of tests were really that necessary. There were 4 line items that ChatGPT identified were of questionable value given the details of the cats symptoms. I crossed them out, and the doctor returned and we ended up agreeing to remove two and keep the other two. I'm not going to blindly follow ChatGPT on these types of decisions but in this case it provided a valueable second opinion to bounce off the doctor for further discussion. Saved us $700. The doctor in any clinic, emergency or not, is usually going to present you with all tests/treatment options that might be relevant to diagnosing/treating your pet. It's up to the pet owner to decide whether they want a deeper understanding of each cost and how necessary/beneficial it is at that stage of the care and any risks or downside of opting out of a particular test/treatment. Anyone who has gone to an emergency room (for people) knows, it is astronomically expensive. Animal ERs are no different except most are likely paying the full bill without pet insurance. You are paying a very high premium for quick evaluation, test results, and if necessary 24/7 monitored care. You can easily get into the low to mid 4 figures in most cases. We received phone calls 4 times over a 24-hr period on the status of our pet which was nice, but sort of the minimum you would expect when a 24/7 monitored hospital stay is $880 a day ($37/hr.) My only criticism of this facility is many of the tests are the same ones I can get at my normal vet and also get results back in the same timeframe. When I compared to a previous vet bill those same tests are considerably more expensive here. This is not to say some tests/procedures done here are either not available at a standard vet clinic or done a lot faster. But the ones I could compare apples to apples, this place was a lot more expensive, for what practical reason? And because of that, I can't in good conscious round a 4.5 up to 5 in this case. One might argue prices are likely comparable to other 24-hr emergency care clinics realizing if your pet is critically ill, it's not really feasible in most (not all) cases to say "I'll get those tests done later at my regular Vet." You're desperate to help your pet. The service overall was good with a mostly expected large sting in the pocketbook. But if you aren't experiencing a life threatening emergency and can get your pet into a regular vet soon enough, it is likely considerably cheaper than this place.

I called ahead of time to let them know I would be there in less than twenty minutes. They determined that Oliver had HemaSarcoma of the spleen and heart and the tumors ruptured causing internal bleeding. They suggested euthanasia. We sadly determined the situation and agreed. Throughout the entire process everyone was so professional, loving, supportive of our baby. Yes, the bill quickly added up to 1,200 . I'm just grateful that they were there for him and we got to lovingly say goodbye. Definitely recommend this place if your fur baby has an emergency.
