Sagewood Café is a go to place in Buffalo for good lunches - sandwiches and soups and yummy desserts too. It also has a wonderful gift shop with quality items and even Buffalo souvenirs. My husband and I each ordered the special which was Italian Wedding soup. It was served with two thick wedges of cheese: Monterey Jack and Cheddar. It was also served with a fresh homemade dinner roll and a pat of butter. We LOVED all of the food we were served except for dessert, which was a layered lemon and raspberry cheesecake. There is a cute dining area in the back with booths, tables and a counter area. There are several delicious homemade soups available each day and homemade bread which is made on site daily. You can choose how you like your sandwich made or choose a gourmet sandwich from the menu. There are Italian Sodas and Espressos if you like. This place is so friendly and cute. The cafe is in the back of this little local crafts shop that had some beautiful home made items. The cafe seats 36 and the place was full for lunch on a Monday. All breads are made fresh everyday and are so soft and perfect. They just do lunch and serve sandwiches soups and salads. Ordered the Bronco and it was the bomb. Totally worth the 1,200 mile drive from the Bay Area. Great little find. read more

Wonderful fresh sandwiches that are creatively concocted, as well as delicious soups. My friend had the seafood bisque and could not stop raving about it, and I greatly enjoyed the black bean vegetable soup (there were a large variety of vegetables in addition to the beans). We shared a wonderful turkey and avocado sandwich that came on a fabulous dill bread. The service was quick and friendly and the place was not too loud - just a delightful lunch! Our only complaint was it was a little hard to find. The sign is not obvious and when you walk in there is a gift shop in the front that you have to walk through - just keep heading back and you will find it. read more

Visiting from New York, my daughter in law and granddaughter took me to Sagewood for lunch. I was told it had the best sandwiches and soup in town. I was not disappointed with the made from scratch mushroom soup and roast beef sandwich. The breads are the best along with an iced chai with shots of espresso. So good.
