Amazing scenery, courteous staff and delicious food, what a nice evening , if you get lucky enough to get in it's a great experience, go on the waitlist, we were called right away

A long weekend at Saguaro Lake ranch was a perfect introduction to the Southwest. Incredible setting, hiking, rafting and horseback riding all nearby. Charming rustic but modern cabin, with a private front porch. Incredible food and cookouts with live music. I hope to come agan soon.

This review is for their dining event, specially the "cowboy cookout". My friend and I booked this event which was sold out and rightfully so as it is quaint, enjoyable, and delicious food. It is set up as family seating dining style. The food consist of ribeye steak, chicken, potatoes, broccoli, and salad. There was a bar opened for additional charge. Live music which consist of one man band. He played awesome music. Nothing like eating a great meal while watching the sunset. It's little pricey ($60) but overall worth it for the experience. They have cozy cabins, activities such as horse back riding and kayaking on premise. I've tried the kayaking which was a lot of fun. Will go back again for their other events.

Unreal, turnkey experience on the Salt River thanks to Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch. My wife & I opted for the self-guided, (approx) 2-hour kayak trip with boxed lunches and the Guest Ranch provided a perfect venue for a stress-free, fun and unforgettable experience. They provide the kayaks, paddles, PFDs and the transportation with great boxed lunches afterwards. Just show up (on time) and pay attention during the orientation and safety briefing. From there, pick out your kayak, strap on your PFD, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, and you are in for a splendid day! When you hit the beach at the take out, they pick you up in the shuttle van and return you to your parked car where you started at the Guest Ranch. If you're lucky, you will see the amazing Salt River Horses doing their thing in the river. If the horses are elsewhere, you will be mesmerized by the magical backdrop of the majestic Superstition Mountains. This trip and the Guest Ranch is a MEMORY MAKER, so what's not to love and what are you waiting for? 10/10 stars! THANK YOU Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch.

I recently stayed at Saguaro Lake Ranch and it was amazing! Tucked away just on the other side of the dam it is a gem! Built in 1931, I love the rustic feel of this place. It offers access to the Lower Salt River and spectacular views of the Bulldog Mountains! It is literally a 5 minute drive to Saguaro Lake.

We did a little staycation for our 40th anniversary. The scenery is beautiful, the place was built in 1920's and 1930's. It is very old (of course) and very rustic. Our cabin had a king bed and private bath, no TV, no phone, CLEAN. The bed was very comfortable, and the area was very quiet. John, the manager is very nice, helpful and a good sense of humor, nice man. Bailey works the front office and probably everything else LOL. She has a huge personality, and you feel happy being around her. They do serve breakfast; it is what the cook is making that day. They do offer box lunch which is a good value. There is no dinner or alcohol available on property so you will need to go into town, 15 to 20 miles away for dinner or a drink at the end of the day. The ranch is located on the Salt River, you can splash your feet. Bailey will set up any activities you are interested in. We kayaked down the river, good day.

Did you know that this place hosts a cookout every weekend? Oh yes! Burgers and Brisket on Friday and Steaks on Saturday, served up buffet style by a very friendly staff, with live music, a full bar, and perfect scenery! We listened and sang along with the P. F. Flyers and enjoyed a perfectly smoked brisket dinner! Spend a wonderful evening out here! You won't be sorry!

My family had an amazing time at Saguaro Lake Ranch. It was a perfect place for the kids (ages 5 and 7) - they could run around safely without a care in the world. Their favorite activities were swimming in the pool and rafting down the Salt River. Mine were hiking in the beautiful country side and eating yummy food. Thank you, Saguaro Lake Ranch for a wonderful family vacation.

I am the hostess and organizer for Arizona happy hour meetup group. I have brought out my friends and members out to the Saguaro lake ranch for their cowboy BBQ. It is a beautiful ranch by the salt verde river. Very nice desert landscaping and horses nearby. The food is homemade and delicious, especially the Brisket. It is a place for the whole family. John the owner is very gracious and nice. Check out their website for lunches and dinners coming out in the fall and spring. I highly recommend this as a hidden gem of Arizona. Sometimes musicians come out to play music and entertain while you eat and drink.

One of my family's favorite places on Earth. It's not just a vacation getaway, it's an experience that will last a lifetime.

Words cannot describe the wonderful weekend experience had at a family destination wedding experience here in April . The 1928 rustic renovated lodge and 20 cabins filled with friends and family form near and far. The setting with great rock cliffs as backdrop for the outdoor wedding , on large grassy , mesquite tree lined venue running along the Verde river . The lodge with tall beamed ceilings , large fireplaces with several rooms for gathering , eating , games , library , music , bar with pool table , and western souvenir shopping in lobby . Cabins and lodge filled with vintage 30s/40s rancho Monterey hand painted furniture . Lodge filled with paintings and prints of the ranch and desert area which is surrounded by giant saguaros , desert trees and a natural botanical garden of cacti. A short trail up to rocks with ancient petroglyphs another trail along the river surround by cacti . Horseback riding , kayaking, and tubing are available for guests and the public . Last but certainly not least was the friendly hospitality and wonderful home cooked meals served by the ranch staff; thank you so much ! A memorable weekend at a fantastic ranch owned and operated by the same family for five generations !

I booked dinner tickets for my fiancé and I for the cowboy cookout with stargazing. It was a really nice experience with beautiful views of the mountains! It's setup with large picnic table seating so you get to mingle and chat with other guests. It was a nice night out and a unique experience! Definitely recommend and we will be back for future dinner experiences!

After being here in the heat perhaps they have guest park downstairs to avoid putting their cars in the sun and it's also gated down there. Dining: TAQUERIA CENTRO -- 10 out of 10. The food and service were both exceptional. Manager Carlos did an outstanding job and was a true highlight of our stay. Prado -- 4 out of 10. We visited Prado twice during our stay. Our first visit was for breakfast -- the food was okay but noticeably overpriced for what was offered. Our second visit was a far worse experience. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without our server ever acknowledging us, so we got up and left. The service at this restaurant was consistently poor and the pricing did not reflect the quality or experience provided. Dining Options -- Room for Improvement. For a resort of this size and reputation, the dining options felt limited. We would strongly recommend adding at least one additional restaurant to give guests more variety. The snack and coffee shop, which could help fill that gap, closed far too early in the evening. Extending those hours would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience, particularly for those who want a light bite or a cup of coffee later in the day. The Room -- 6 out of 10. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues that fell well below the standard I would expect from a resort of this caliber. The bed was old and noticeably worn down, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. To make matters worse, the comforter on the bed was torn and had visible holes in it -- something that should never make it into a guest room. We also struggled with the room temperature throughout the night and were unable to get it to cool down comfortably. A Bright Spot at Checkout: I spoke with Avery Williams, Director of Front Office, at checkout and she was genuinely outstanding. She was sincerely concerned about the issues we experienced and did everything she could to address them. She even followed up with an email after our departure, which was a very nice touch. Overall, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the reputation of this resort. With a few improvements -- additional dining options, extended snack shop hours, updated room bedding and linens, and better temperature control -- along with a serious look at the service standards at Prado, this could easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10 experience.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

I invited four girlfriends to join me, and each of them booked their own rooms. Unfortunately, after spending four days at the property, I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing luxury hotel experiences I've ever had. The problems started at check-in. The front desk associate barely engaged with me, offered no overview of the property, amenities, or resort experience, and didn't ask whether it was my first visit. When I mentioned I was celebrating my birthday, there wasn't even a simple "Happy Birthday." I was handed a key and what turned out to be a property map, with no explanation whatsoever. My next stop was the concierge desk to inquire about pool cabanas. I was simply told they were sold out. No alternatives were offered, no waitlist was mentioned, and no effort was made to assist. Instead, I was told to look at an outside website myself. At a luxury resort, isn't the concierge's role to help guests find solutions and make arrangements? When I later asked if the resort did anything special for birthday guests, the concierge emailed me a list of items I could purchase. That response perfectly summarized the level of hospitality we experienced. The room itself was another disappointment. It felt outdated and in need of renovation, hardly what one would expect from a luxury property. Ironically, when I later visited the pool and asked an attendant about cabanas, she immediately offered to place me on a waitlist in case of cancellations--an option the concierge never bothered to mention. The following morning, I spoke with a manager, Alley, about my experience. She apologized and offered a $100 food and beverage credit, which I appreciated. However, when I returned to my room, I discovered something far more concerning: one of the pillows had visible mold on it. Since I don't sleep with pillows, I hadn't noticed it the first night. As I looked closer, I found stains on the bedding, pillows, lampshade, and even areas of the room that clearly had not been properly cleaned. Housekeeping came and changed the sheets and pillowcases, but shockingly left behind the actual moldy pillow. At that point, this had moved far beyond a service issue and into a cleanliness and health concern. I reported everything again to management. The additional response was a $50 credit. At this point, the property had failed in virtually every area that defines a luxury hotel: guest service, concierge support, cleanliness, attention to detail, and problem resolution. My friends who booked rooms experienced similar frustrations with both customer service and housekeeping. We ultimately spent much of our time dining at restaurants off property and even rented a cabana at another resort because our experience at The Phoenician was so disappointing. For a stay that cost me over $2,000, offering a total of $150 in credits felt completely out of touch with the severity of the issues. The amount wasn't the problem, it was the lack of accountability and genuine concern. I rarely leave negative reviews, but travelers should know that this property did not deliver anything close to the luxury experience it advertises. Between the poor service, moldy pillow, cleanliness concerns, and overall lack of hospitality, I cannot recommend The Phoenician. I will also be filing a complaint through Marriott Bonvoy regarding my experience. Luxury hotels are defined by service, attention to detail, and how they handle problems when they arise. Unfortunately, The Phoenician failed on all three.
