Yes they have a lot of things to do at Val Vista Village. That's where it ends. They overspend on brand new park model homes by the dozen that they can't sell because they're overpriced. Every year they jack up the rent and you have to pay a year in advance. They always send out a letter explaining why next years rent is increasing, and it's all a lot of bull. All this in a place that has ancient water lines that break frequently. Remember - you may own the building, but they own the land. And the utility bills are outrageous. First, they charge you $20 per month for the privilege of having your meter read. Next, you are not paying SRP - you're paying Val Vista. For 390 square feet of park model I was paying double what I am now paying for 615 square feet of apartment for electricity. Not worth it for having lots of things to do. read more

Great park. We live in SOCAL and the drive is worth the trip. we haven't been there is a while but plan to return.

So unprofessional , we had a budget and it was absolutely ignored since we would not buy new. They have no idea what used inventory they have and could care less; Our calls were not responded to in a timely manner. We arrived at 2 pm in Saturday 1st. No one in the office or anywhere to help us only the folks that directed us to our site. Huge area with a lot of thing going on but no one to help guest who are only here for two days.We travel the country in our RV and they seem to only want long term stays. Val Vista Villages was the 3rd RV park we tried since November and it is the best!! Great amenities and very nice people. Wonderful sites with beautiful flowers and trees. Cactus Grill on site, live music and much more! LOVED having real grass in the numerous pet runs and the dog wash station was awesome!! We hope to become annual residents ! read more

They discriminated against my boyfriend buying a place as I am disabled and come down here for 2 weeks a month. They did our background d check and 26 YEARS ago I had 2 seizers and got into a very serious accident, I broke my back, hips and my spleen flew out my stomach and I died yet, medics brought me back. I remained in coma for three months due to head injury. Keep in mind 26 YEARS ago. I got the smallest felony back then even though it was act of God, no jail time at all. I had my house broke in 5 years ago and the robber got my safe and in it was passport, unfortunately my identity has been stolen, I was in Seattle and my boyfriend sat right at Sunlight with realter filling out his and my background d as I was gone and due to head injury, I can't any longer read or write, when I returned from Seattle we got mail that we had been denied due to my background? I didn't know what was on there, and my partner only put what he knew and if he knew all the times it said neg things he would have put them but when you think you have liv ed a good life then, you find out your identity had been stoled and continues to be used, what can one do? Val vista gave him 72 hours to move motorhome and he wasn't allowed to buy mobile even though his background was fine!!! Since when does anybody have the right to say what visitors come into his home???? They didn't even want to talk, just mailed a 72-hour notice, they knew I was disabled and that's why they did it! Yews I am talking to attorney, disability act and ACLU. Just got a top-notch attorney. I will update as it unfolds, He is A disabled vet and how dare CAL-AM fly the American flag. This is a 55 plus park in Mesa AZ!!!! read more

My husband and I have been traveling around the country in our 5th wheel for years and this is the nicest park by far. Amenities wonderful, everyone so friendly and helpful. People here just seem happy, that includes staff, owners and campers. We like it so much we just bought a unit along the wall on Val Vista Drive on 1st Street. Contrary to a previous review the street noise is not bad at all. We got used to it in no time when outside and barely hear it when we are inside our unit. January, February and March the park is full so book your stay early. Our unit has cable, WiFi, washer and dryer and a golf cart to get around the park and we will be renting it most of the year so check out Val Vista. We stayed for a couple months and the price was right for the fall special. The entire place needs upgrades, It's starting to get run down. The ladies at the front desk were not friendly at all, and not interested in giving any type of service. And since that's the first people we met when we got there, they sure started us off on the wrong foot. Because of the terrible numbering system within the park Amazon deliveries were impossible. They have bands every day in the afternoon, which was nice. Food and drink prices were pretty high for what you got. read more

We love VVV. This is our second winter in this park! It's the best! Very friendly people and more activities than we can do. But we find when we do come to an activity we are welcomed and encouraged. I am on the bowling league and had a blast. We walk almost every day stopping in at the gym to do some strength training as well. When we have time we go to the free afternoon concerts and you can have dinner in the cafe there as well! Overall we can say enough about this wonderful park. We are definitely coming back!! read more

We rented a park model in January. The unit was just ok. The real problem was the traffic noise on ValVista Drive, as it was constant except from midnight to 4 am. Do not rent or buy a unit "on the wall" on Val Vista or University. You will not sleep or enjoy the outdoors. The amenities and people are really great and if you find the right spot it is a good place. read more

Disclaimer: the views expressed here are those of a twenty something girl obsessed with her far off retirement who, despite her wildest dreams, does not live in an awesome retirement resort community, only visits them from time to time on work related trips. This place rocks. Seriously. I've visited a few retirement communities in my day, and this one takes the cake. The entrance is typical and unassuming, but tiddy. What's waiting on the other side of the stucco guard shack (safety: check) is a real treat. The streets and sidewalks are clean, the mobile homes are adorable and proudly display placques in each owner's taste (wether it be Steelers colors and a wood carving) listing their name and where they are from, nice touch. The tiny lawns are all well manicured, there's a nice Pleasantville feeling to it all. It's all very lovely, but the club house is what it's all about. There's a nice fitness center, a billards room, a pool and a huge spa, with a poolside bar. What?! That's right, a poolside bar! The bartender was clad in a colorful Hawaiian shirt, very Margaritaville, no wonder the golf carts were lined up and the bike racks full! Well, what if your hobbies include more than drinking? That's your choice I suppose, so while I'm chillin' with the 'it's five o'clock somewhere' crowd you can mosey on over to guest services where they will be happy to provide you with an activities calendar. Better pull out your readers, they had to use smaller font to make room for all the awesome stuff they have planned! Everyday has at least 15 different games set up! Bocce ball! Yup! Pickle ball and tennis? Uh, yeah! Every card game I've ever heard of and several I haven't? You've got it! Not to mention the special events and performances. How about a craft fair? Or maybe check out the comedic stylings of "world famous" Jimmy Keyes! I don't know who Jimmy Keyes is, but he's wearing a crazy coat in the promotional banner, so you know it'll be a good time. The second I find a single retiree with a sweet rig I'm ditching my husband for the life I was meant for: retirement. 12/8/2012 - 12/13/2012 Stayed here for 5 nights, used our Passport America discount. What an awesome place. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We had never stayed in this type of park before and are very impressed. We did pick up a screw in our trailer tire while driving to our site which caused us to stay longer to get the tire fixed. Would love to be able to stay here, but it is way too expensive for us without the Passport America discount. read more

I have owned a park model in Val Vista Villages since 2015 (please note this is a 55 plus park - visiting "younger" are limited and restricted). Yes, it has a ton of amenities, lots to do but who can do lots? Management's focus has shifted to reserve the majority of the physical activities from competitive play to occasional use, forcing those playing pickleball or tennis with other park players to utilize facilities outside the park. No money (for supplies) is provided for inter-park play. Courts are only properly groomed from January to April. The park itself is neglected until late November at which time a flurry of activity crops all shrubberies and trees to bare nubs, weeds are sprayed with a green chemical, roads are swept. Curbs/stop signs are painted late Dec/Jan around a full compliment of residents. The focus at VVV is the courtyard where live music is played every day from 1-3, some days also in the evenings, line dancers crowd the floor. Every month there is a manager's happy hour where beer is sold for 25 cents. There is also a cafe - cash is not accepted. There is a dance on Saturdays, $8. As of this year all alcohol and food must be purchased from the Park, no more thermal bags and table snacks. Most activities and events have been switched from club (resident) "owned" and run to management claiming ownership, requesting resident run the event, then requiring that all funds raised be turned over to the park. Our park fees went up $865US in two years. As more and more amenities suffer neglect, and management takes control of all our activities, we are currently searching for another park. read more

Rented a park model at Val Vista. Total dump for $2000 a month. Electricity does not work in the living room. No air conditioning in the Arizona Room. Kitchen appliances, towels, furniture, everything is left over from 30 years ago. And the place was disgustingly filthy when I arrived. Total trailer trash. Have to shower at the club house. Put my clothes in a washer at their laundry facility and when I returned, found someone taking my clothes!! My advice, find another place to stay. read more
