This place was okay. The space felt very crammed, and not very clean. The floors were dirty, there were stains on their furniture, and their equipment is old. I got dip nails and it was $63 not including a tip. I also found it weird that they do not show any pricing on their website. This was definitely not worth $63. A few of my nails do not look smooth or blended. They charge you for shaping your nails even if your nails are already that shape. Hannah is the queen of customer service: she provides a phone stand for your rings and phone while you get your manicure, she never forgets to offer a drink, and she even has a small hourglass to let you know how long to wait for your top coat to dry. Pedicure was fine. The staff was nice but they did not tell me that gel polish was an extra $25! That is absolutely insane. The most I've ever paid extra for gel is $10. When I went to check out I told the girl working the front desk they need to let people know that up front and told me she just assumed I knew the price because I already had gel on my toes when I came in. (I live in another state and had got my toes down elsewhere before). Love this place! After searching to find a good nail salon here in franklin I am so happy that I have this place a try. An old coworker of mine recommended this place to me and it's less than five minutes from my house. Everyone there is super friendly, and they communicate with you to make sure you leave satisfied. Rose is my favorite nail tech, she did my nails for a wedding I was going to be in and they turned out perfect. The prices are very reasonable, and their dip options are extensive. It usually takes me a while to pick a color since they have so many pretty options. My dip manicure lasts about 3-4 weeks without chipping or breaking. read more

My total price was $100 which is absolutely ridiculous for a basic dip service, and they're already cracking and falling off after one week. My daughter and I went for dip powder mani's yesterday. I picked this place because it is one of the few places open on Sunday. Our service took wayyy too long. We were there 2 hours! My daughters dip had to be rebuffed and clear coated because it was all bumpy and rough on the surface. The nail tech had started a new customer when we realized and they made us wait the 30 mins for her to finish that job before coming over to fix my daughters nails. They could have allowed anyone to fix the job or had the other customer wait a minute so that they could get us taken care of. The prices are crazy compared to other local salons and they try to nickel and dime anywhere they can. They tried to add $6 because my nails are almond shape? That makes zero sense - how's that any different than round or square shape? My nails are so thick and fat at the ends and honestly just looking at them makes me furious all over again. I had a magnificient experience at Sahara Nails. My daughter and I were in need of mani-pedi's and so we looked for a local place to do a walk in at the holidays and stumbled upon this place. We were welcomed and treated oh-so-nice. they gave us wine and it was clean and they spoke to us. I will say that the guy that did my pedicure was awesome--he rubbed me the right way and gave me an above average experience with the massage you typically get when you get a 40.00 mani-pedi.....i would certainly recommend this place to every tired, stressed-out, working woman I know. read more

If you're going to get a nail design done other than french tip, this nail salon is not for you. I wanted a french tip and then a line outline which according to them can't be done unless it's gel for some apparent reason, which is definitely a lie. If you want a design you have to get gel, all i wanted was a simple line on each nail but in order to get that i would've had to pay an extra $20. I payed $65 for french tip but in order to get the design i wanted i would've had yo pay $85. They charge extra for anything, my friend was charged an extra $7 for cuticular removal, she was told after the removal. Her total was $70 for dip with french tip. I've been going to another place for my nails for a while, but happened to stop in here a few months ago after dinner and was lucky enough to land with Danny. He is so friendly, gives an amazing pedicure and is so detailed, a real perfectionist! Last visit, I'd broken my big toe nail so bad I didn't think there was much to be done, but I was going on a trip and needed my feet done anyway. I don't even know what he did, but he fixed it without even using a tip. Oddly enough, I went to my other place for my nails the next day, and several there complimented my toes. I have had several different techs - some do a better job than others- but I'm not that picky and I usually don't make an appointment so I get whoever is available. The shop is clean and the staff are friendly to customers and seem to enjoy working with one another- so it is a pleasant place to be. It is my go to and the prices are not outrageous. Arrived 12:35pm on a Sunday it was busy and didn't take too long to get started... Maybe like 15 mins after I picked my color to get the tub running? TIP: dress in layers. If you're by the front door it's either cold or hot based on the time of year :) It was COLD today!! Brrr! I was the first chair on the right (all the chairs on the left were full when I arrived), this chair massage was broken. I literally had to press a button every 20 seconds (NO EXAGGERATION). NOTE: 100% they used tools and scrubbers/callous removal pumice thingy. I hope they are sterilized before being used from person to person, but no way to know for sure. I sadly already forgot my nail tech's name (perhaps sounds like Gina?), her leg massage was the super gentle but very divine. -$30 regular pedi included: crappy chair massage, a complementary glass of white wine (it was YUMMY and made up for the crappy chair massage), foot soak, cuticles, quick filing, very light callous scrub with the pumice, lotion and divine leg rub, hot towels, 1 coat of polish, 1 coat of clear coat and off I go! -$35 gel manicure: still drinking my complementary white wine, cuticles, quick file, quick soak, wash my hands, verry quick hand massage, verrrry quick shoulder rub, and the standard gel/uv/coat/uv/repeat. No arm massage, no hot towels. As soon as the polish set, I was on my way to check out. ** I saw previous reviews about gel nail removal $5 charge, etc. I came in with zero polish on and plain nails, no gel or SNS etc. I chose gel b/c I wanted the cheaper option and I like very short nails (less the germies can live and thrive under). I decided to get the gel this time for a cruise, and wanted to it to last longer than a normal polish. Will update! The lotion products smell delightful and the chemical smell that is common in nail salons is not terribly noticeable. The calf massage could be better, attention to detail on the nails was very good. Just had a wonderful first-time experience at Sahara Nails! I went in for a gel-manicure, and the place was quite busy for a weekday afternoon, but I was greeted seated right away. The facilities were nice and clean, and everything that was used for me was taken out of fresh, sanitary packaging. Coming to Tennessee from Los Angeles for a summer internship was a huge change, and I needed a nail salon that could do acrylic nails as well as I've had them done out West. I tried two other locations before I decided to give Sahara a try and I was not disappointed. The service is great. From the moment I walked in, I was told "We'll take care of you", and that's exactly what I was: taken care of. The staff is pampering and offers drinks and magazines, and a great selection of polishes, gels, and powders. After my last nail salon trial, I was left with thick acrylics and a poor polish job. Michelle, at Sahara Nail Spa, fixed all this, and my nails look just as they usually do in LA. She KNOWS how to do acrylics. I was more than satisfied, and the staff around me was beyond sweet and talkative. I also received a pedicure, which was good. And that's all I need-- a quality pedicure. The only negative thing I would say is with regard to the total cost: $75 for an acrylic fill, gel polish, and a regular pedicure. The whole salon is very clean and very well decorated with lots of pedicure and manicure stations available. All of the nail technicians were very polite, friendly and went out of their way to get to know me while I was there. They have a few different mani/pedi packages available. I opted for the package #4 pedicure which includes some extra exfoliation and a longer foot massage. The lavender scrub they used on my feet and legs smells amazing! They do have other scents like citrus and frappucino. I decided to get a gel manicure which turned out perfectly. For both the manicure and pedicure there were no mistakes with the polish at all. It's really hard to find a quality and friendly nail salon that doesn't rush through the process just to get you in and out. My nail artist was Lyn and she was very personable and thorough. I can be very particular about getting my nails done because these days everything is pricey everywhere, so if I'm paying for something, I expect it to be quality. Lyn gets that and is very patient in that respect, as well as talented. She even helped me pick out a great color for my toes because there were too many choices! This was my second visit to Sahara and it will now be my regular nail place. I wanted something special and showed them a pic of ombré nails with sparkle and asked if they could replicate something similar. They said they could and recommended I do the dip powder for that effect. I picked a shade for my pedicure and was shown to a chair. They brought me LOTS of options for the dip color and I picked 2 shades of blue I thought would work. My pedicure was great and the tech (Vicki I believe) suggested I do a gel treatment for my feet. I haven't had a pedicure in months due to a broken foot so they we in need! She explained how it was better than the paraffin treatment for removing dead skin and let me know it would be an extra $10. Totally worth it! I was shocked at how well it worked. The rest of my pedicure was great. The initial color I choose for my manicure was too light and she immediately suggested choosing a new color. She checked in several times to make sure I liked how it was looking. I was impressed with how she finished the manicure to make sure the powder wasn't too thick or uneven. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. The only complaint was that I did not receive a massage during my manicure. Maybe due to the time it took for the ombré nails? read more

First off- I want to post this more as a BUYER BEWARE than anything else and this is to reflect more so on whoever runs the front desk and NOT the nail techs. I went here yesterday for the first time with a friend who had been before. We weren't seated on the same side of the room, but that's fine, not a big deal. I needed a fill and a gentleman came over and began my service. Everything went fine until it came to doing the color. When I came in, I had polish over my entire nails with ombré glitter on top. The man, whose name I do not know, applied the color on my nails and then began the glitter but seemed confused as to what I wanted. I pulled up a picture of what I had when I came in (that he also had just taken off). It just wasn't working out. No big deal. The tech next to me, Genesis, looked up ombré glitter on Pinterest on her phone, went to the back and returned with a new female nail tech, who was super sweet. The ombré wasn't working out and was looking more like a big glob on my nail. The tech said the glitter polish was thick, so I suggested adding thinner to it to make it easier to apply. Before she did the last two nails, she added thinner. In this whole process, there were many times of having to completely remove the polish and start completely over. At this point, my friend had been done for a while, and I felt like I just wanted to go and I almost felt bad to keep asking her to redo it- but I also wanted what I came in for and was paying for. Again, I was not mad at anyone! I ended up finally accepting it for what it was and left. My friend and I headed down to the pub a few doors down for a bite to eat and the more I looked at the nails, the less I wanted to keep them on for another 2-3 weeks, so I figured I'd just head back down and ask them to redo them completely, sans glitter. Seems reasonable! I walk back in and explain that I'm not pleased with how my nails turned out and that I am not trying to be rude but just don't like the way it looks and would prefer to have this polish removed and just do a solid color and skip the ombré. The lady at the front isn't the friendliest but tells me to go to the back after I picked my color. A new nail tech sits down, I apologize for making her do this, as the tech who had done the ombré was sitting right next to me, almost confused as to why I was back, which made me feel bad. I felt like it was an insult to her work when I think a major part of it looking the way it did was because of the thick glitter. Anyway, the new tech painted my nails the color I had before, was very pleasant and even brought some purple glitter in a pot and asked if I would like to try that. Clearly, she was trying to accommodate me and make sure I was satisfied. For that, I give a 5 star! She worked diligently on my nails, and while what I left with was an improvement, it wasn't exactly what I was going for- but at that point, I was giving up. Again, still not mad. Once my nails are dry, the tech takes me to the front desk "to pay." TO PAY?? The lady who runs the front desk looks at my nails and says, "$10." I said, "wait, I came back to have what I paid for before corrected because I was dissatisfied; I am willing to tip her for her time because she did me a favor, but I don't see why I should pay again." The front desk lady gets an attitude and tells me that because I left, that's why this is an issue, and that I should have said something when I was still in the salon and that this tech who just did my nails needs to be paid for her time. I explained that I would have gone to the same tech who had done what I wanted fixed from before and that I had tried a few times before when I was there to get it done the way I wanted, even went through 2 different techs and began to feel so awkward about it that I felt like I was being insulting and decided to just go ahead and leave- plus my friend needed to go and was on a time crunch. I literally never left the strip mall. I explained that, too. I had literally had this service done about 2 hours prior. We argued back and forth and she finally said, "ok this time I won't make you pay but next time you say something when you're here." Confused and displeased with the attitude and how she handled this, I turned to Genesis and asked if I was being ridiculous and she said no. I then asked the nail tech who just did my nails if she was getting the raw end of this deal if I didn't pay but gave her a generous tip. She smiled and was VERY polite and said, "no, it's ok, you're the customer." --as in, the customer is always right! I have to say, the nail techs here are pretty friendly. I give them all 4 and 5 stars. The lady at the front doesn't even deserve 1 star. She should have explained that she would be charging me if she placed me with a new tech; not spring it on me as I go to leave. The lady at the front is why this is a 3 star review. read more
