I'm very disappointed to have to be writing this review due to the fact that I love all Sahara Suns employees but I can't help it. If I could rate them negative stars I would. I purchased a pair of very adorable work out leggings just the other day. I had tried them on once before and LOVED them but they were a little pricey. A lot of their clothes tend to go on sale so I figured I'd wait it out and see if they would be marked down. When I went in and noticed they were on sale this last time I grabbed them as soon as I could. I didn't need to try them on again because I had once already and knew they would fit. They looked to be in good condition when I held them up so you can bet when I got home and went to put them on and a HUGE hole appeared I was pretty upset! I called to see if there was anyway I'd be able to exchange them as the hole was not my fault and I still paid a pretty penny for them and I am sad to report the answer was no! They have a final sale policy. I can understand that for customers who just weren't satisfied with the purchase or their clothes didn't fit, but these are ruined and there's nothing I can do about it! I mean I didn't even get to wear them!! I have the diamond plus tanning package and spend a good amount of time and money there so I'm sure anyone would understand why this is so frustrating to me. I've been a customer of Sahara Sun since 1984 or thereabout. Throughout the years, this business has consistently delivered a top notch tanning experience. I now use only the Mystic Tan. The place is clean, the equipment is well cared for, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. Gina's got great taste and offers a unique collection of boutique clothing and accessories. This place is amazing, mostly because of Florence. You feel like you are walking into her home. Not only is she super friendly with the regulars, she goes out of her way with brand new clients and wants them to feel comfortable. dont judge them by their looks, beds work great!! older beds but they have great bulbs so the still work GREAT! and im a fan of the fancy hi tech beds, so i was thinking pretty negative at first but they worked very well. staff is awesome. very knowledgable. CUTE clothes for sale! expensive packages unless you cath a special which they frequently have. they also have two different cool hi pressure beds that are a bit old and funky, and again, SURPRISINGLY work verrry good!! read more

I recently went to Sahara Sun in preparation for a special event during a recent trip. The manager asked me a lot of personal questions, including my planned level of sexual activity during my trip. I bought a small spray and was given a tutorial on how to apply the spray. I followed her directions and lightly misted my feet. Unfortunately, my toenails turned orange and appear to be highly infested with toenail fungus. This was acutely embarrassing, particularly during my visit to some hot springs with my date; it was impossible to hide my feet as we sat next to each other on a rock. I called to ask if it would be possible to return the spray. I briefly asked about returns and was told by the manager that the owner never accepts returns before she abruptly cut me off and demanded to know my full name prior to continuing our conversation so she could look me up in her system. (If the owner never accepts returns what is the point in demanding my name, looking me up and wasting my time?) She found me and I explained that I still have orange toenails, over a month after the event, and that I had tried nail polish remover, hydrogen peroxide, etc, but that I still have orange nails that appear to have toenail fungus. In response, I was told that it was my fault for misapplying the spray. I was also informed that, in the future, I should cover my toenails with cream prior to using the spray tan. (That would have been exceedingly helpful to have known before the trip, but I was not, of course, told this until after the fact.) I was not given an apology, or an offer for an exchange, etc. I was told, quite condescendingly, that I should pay for a pedicure and have my nails painted to hide the color! I have never written a negative review, but do not, under any circumstances, frequent this salon. read more

This is my favorite local place. There are some great beds and the prices are good. Also, the tanning packages allow you to use their other locations. Florence is very kind and patient and she usually can find a spot for you without much of a wait. read more

I went here the other day to get a tan because they had a great deal going unlimited tanning for 79.99. Was that a mistake I signed up and went into a special bed called Njoy (the top is broken and does not open up) which is suppose to give you a stronger tan. Nowhere did it mention that it is a bed in which you are only able to tan half of your body at a time so you must flip over in order to tan your full body. After tanning I was not impressed. I looked a little blotchy and uneven. I know it was one time but I am still able to tell. I decided to go back and this time try a different bed. So I went for a standard lay down bed. It is a smaller bed than what I am used to from previous tanning salons. After my session I went home and found my body to be uneven. I layed in a minute or two over, which gave me more color and huge areas of unevenness along my sides. I never in my ten years of tanning experienced such an uneven tan not just once but twice. I stopped by the shop to talk to someone about being reimbursed. They told me I had to call and talk to the manager. So I tried calling the following day and was unable to get ahold of her. I forgot about it and called her again about a week later. The owner did not believe me and said this was the first she had heard of an uneven tan. She said that I would have to show her so I would need to come in and tan then prove it to her. I explained that I did not want to spend more time on receiving an uneven tan. All in all I would not recommend you go here there are other tanning salons in the area, don't let their deal suck you in!! read more

It is crazy to think that a person can write such things about a person that was nothing but nice to you. "E C" , I was the customer that was in at the time you came in and notice how rude and nasty you were being to the employee that I felt the need to intervene and your response to me was to "mind my own business." So not only did you sit there and talk so disrespectfully and down to the poor lady but then you got rude with me as well. There is a sign on the door if you would have looked and it says last tan 30 mins before closing. You and your female companion who I am assuming is "J S" because of the things you wrote in your review need a serious attitude check because if I were you guys I would be ashamed & embarrassed of the way you acted and treated people. The only reason I gave 1 star is this ..Sahara Sun is fantastic only when Florance is working...why? She knows what service is!!!!! When Florance is working her shift at Sahara Sun she remembers your name..has everything ready for you, she's so professional I think I will steal her for our hotel..you can't teach work ethic like Florance displays..I went the other day very disappointed with the young unproductive help. You have to ask for everything!!!! the girls sit on the phone texting friends and not giving any service what so ever... I will never go in to Sahara Sun if Florance is not working..talk about not being consistent...!!! It's like going to a 5 star hotel when Florance works it's wonderful such a pampered experience...!!! When the other girls are working it's like Motel 6.. You walk in and instantly go UGH...My advice to the owner..You better pay Florance a big Salary!!! She makes your business!!! Why not have Florance train your employees on service? You have an excellent employee who is giving the best service ever why let these other girl slack they ruin your business!!!!!! First step NO PHONES at WORK!!! Clean the beds, wipe down the spay tan booth..turn on the heaters and fans..fold towels GET OFF THE PHONES try to be Florance! Learn from her..dam so frustrating!!!!!!!!!! I hope she's paid well!!! all three locations are terrible in there own way. light house and their receptionist Florence is the worst. the bed there are old and disgusting, you can see all the sweat and old lotion through the cracks in the plastic covers and the rust and broken parts on all the beds including the Njoy. Florence is a cranky manipulative old crack pot that manipulates customers into something that they didn't come in for by telling them she needs the commission to pay her rent. i came in one time and had to stand there waiting almost 10 minutes while she folded laundry and put it away. The Fremont location has better people working there and has somewhat better beds but there is always hair and dust bunny's on the floor and the fans are covered in dust. Toro has the best customer service out of all three unless Gina the owner is working. she seems all friendly unless you don't buy her over the top priced clothes that wouldn't fit a regular person unless you are stick thin, don't have large breast's or have a big butt. or if you don't buy lotion or whatever else she pushes on you. three out of the 5 tanning beds there suck (all low wattage bulbs) you see no color at all unless you use the stand up or room number one. you have to call ahead to make sure the Mystic is even working because it is always broken. ALWAYS!!!!! something is always wrong with it. and i mean always. i asked one of the girls that worked there if they washed the towels in hot water or if they steam cleaned the carpets in the rooms and she told me no on both accounts. DISGUSTING!!! i was a member there for some time but i no longer go, and i tell anyone who tans to not go there. beware, your money is a waist there. read more
